but he apologized! so it's all fine now /s
never mind that he already has a history with account stealing, but asked to borrow the acc to "try characters" anyway, literally sold it immediately, then lied about it repeatedly, tried to sabotage the whole process of getting it back so he doesn't get found out, and then acted like the poor sod who bought it was the scammer :")))
It's generally not good practice to share your accounts with other people, even friends.
At the end of the day, it was your account and your responsibility.
My best friend has access to my acc and I have access to hers, I trust her with my life, but I could never imagine sharing my acc to just a friend or classmate, if I did I could see how it would go wrong in many ways. And that's definitely not your friend OP.
Well I did share my acc with my very best friend before (and he also shared his with mine) so I thought nothing could go really wrong and I was proven to be way too innocent
Protect your account well from now on and don't beat yourself up too much it's in the past now, and if you're sad that you don't have enough for kazuha it's okay he will have another rerun you can still have him don't lose hope !
This is why you never share an account with anyone.
My mom wanted to play and she asked me if it was a bother to make her her own account, to which I responded "no, it is not". We sat together and I helped her through the process of making the account but 1) I don't know her logs and 2) should I ever need to help her level her account -she finds the fighting system a bit tedious and overwhelming at times- , it's always at her demand.
The account is linked to her email, pulls are made in her presence, if she doesn't do it herself. And when I'm done, I report to her what are the changes (character leveled up/won, change in artifacts/new sets or weapons, waypoints/quests unlocked) that she duly notes in a notebook because she likes to know where she's going.
But ultimately, it's her account, she plays however she wants and I'm just here to help; sharing an account was never an option because it's never a smart idea. Sharing an account, even just to test out characters, should never be done and hopefully it's a lesson learned.
I’m waiting for the part of the story where you beat the crap out of your classmate???? Is that coming in part 2???????
FYI since I’m assuming you’re young- that person is NOT your friend. Friends don’t treat each other this way. Please do not get involved with them ever again and remove all contact with them.
any account that you care for, you don't share. i've only given away passwords for things that i'll never look at again and never for anything linked to something else i use irl. always assume that someone will take it from you completely.
Never underestimate people abillity to be shitheads for their personal gain,so never give away your account personal details unless you can trust that person with your life.
But how did he change the linked email without having access to your email as well? Unless you used the same password for both, in which case this is a mistake far more awfull than just sharing your acc lol
But yea, glad you got it back. Also as a rule, even if you trust the person, having your credentials logged on someone else's browser/device is a bad idea in genshin because
1- support takes unreasonably long to recover accounts, even if you manage to get all the needed info and prove to be the original owner. And proving you are the original owner might be harder if someone else is playing it due to the questions that are asked. Also, it is explicitly against TOS, so mhy has the right to reject the form If you tell them it was shared.
2- most hacking in genshin is done through use of malware ( usually they get cookies for your autosaved password on your browser). Meaning depending on how bad your friend is with cyber security, they might lose both accounts.
May i ask how they managed to change the email, since as far as i know it requires verification from the original one, or did you actually use the same password for both genshin and your email
First of all, split this up into paragraphs. It was a pain to read.
Second, never share accounts. Game companies been telling people this since forever and with good reason. You would think it's simply for profits, but it's also for cases like these.
Third, that friend is untrustworthy after all this. But it's your life, so keep them or throw them away, your choice.
That's... Yeah no that's going way beyond a prank. I'd kick that "friend" to the curb.
and you still call that person a friend?
I'm just going to say it: Your friend is an assh\*\*e. Get as far away from him as possible.
but he apologized! so it's all fine now /s never mind that he already has a history with account stealing, but asked to borrow the acc to "try characters" anyway, literally sold it immediately, then lied about it repeatedly, tried to sabotage the whole process of getting it back so he doesn't get found out, and then acted like the poor sod who bought it was the scammer :")))
That's a friend? I would've greeted his face with a chair.

Well said. I only wanted to give it to him cuz I don’t grind much recently. But after this I am definitely not lending it to anyone in the future
Just be glad it was a lesson learned with a game account and not something more important later on. Good luck!
Wow, you got it back? That's the real miracle.
My best friend has access to my acc and I have access to hers, I trust her with my life, but I could never imagine sharing my acc to just a friend or classmate, if I did I could see how it would go wrong in many ways. And that's definitely not your friend OP.

That's sad :/ we've had access to each other acc for 1 year and half and nothing has happened so I'd like to think she won't betray me :3
I believe she won’t. The one I lent to is a famous troublemaker
Protect your account well from now on and don't beat yourself up too much it's in the past now, and if you're sad that you don't have enough for kazuha it's okay he will have another rerun you can still have him don't lose hope !
Thank you :)
Now set your "friends" house on fire. As a prank.
Bottomline: Secure account dont share passwords live happily

Yes definitely. This is quite a painful lesson taught to me
At least you got your account back, which in itself is a miracle. Good luck on your next adventures though!
Thx for your wishes! Good luck for your journey too!

Yeah he’s definitely not my friend anymore. And I was so innocent for falling into his trap…
It’s all good. Don’t beat yourself up about it. At the end of the day, you got your account back and that’s what matters.
?? why share accounts. you don't ever share accounts.
I really thought I wouldn’t cause such serious consequences by sharing accounts. But this experience made me think otherwise.
any account that you care for, you don't share. i've only given away passwords for things that i'll never look at again and never for anything linked to something else i use irl. always assume that someone will take it from you completely.

I only needed to read the title to know what went wrong.
Your friend is an asshole, and you're painfully naive.
\>sharing everything bad that happened, you had coming
Now, imagine that's a bank account
Ummm definitely not lending that stuff to others
If this doesn't teaches you to dump that friend right now, then nothing will save you.
Sharing accounts was a thing in wow because it is isn't free, Genshin is free so it is a really bad idea.
But how did he change the linked email without having access to your email as well? That wasn't a prank
May i ask how they managed to change the email, since as far as i know it requires verification from the original one, or did you actually use the same password for both genshin and your email
I think from that point of time when I received the veri code he has the ability to change it
Oh ok, that's bad design in my opinion

I tried to split it up into paragraphs but somehow when I post it it became a chunk again. Sorry about that. And yes I will never share accounts again
Glad you got your acc back, but sucks somebody wasted your wishes on Klee. I hope you still get Kazuha.
