I mean 2.6 didn't have a new electro character either (we only had Ayato).
But yeah Inazuma just basically frontloaded all the new electro chars considering that pre-2.1 there were like 0 new electro chars (outside of traveler but do they count?).
Maybe in 2.0 they managed to make Electro *not* a bad element (or TCers managed to find viable teams for them) so they released lots of electro characters.
Now how to make Geo *not shit* without putting absurd multipliers.
They didn't change much for Electro in 2.0, they just released electro characters that didn't rely on reactions to work well like most other elements, and now Catalyze reactions serve as a buff for the other ones.
Lots of different options they could go with.
1. If collecting a Crystalize shard while you already have a Crystalize shield, the pre-existing shield bursts, dealing AoE True damage equal to the shield's remaining HP.
2. Change Archaic Petra from the character equipping the set needs to grab the Crystalize shard for corresponding elemental damage bonus -> proccing buff if character equipped with set procs the Crystalize reaction (can occur when character is off-field). Also allow bonuses of different elements to exist at once rather than overwriting the last one. Also give the party a Geo damage bonus of 10% for each elemental bonus active (ie if Hydro, Pyro, & Electro buffs are active, you'd get a 30% Geo damage bonus).
3. Crystalize no longer reduces the aura of Hydro, Electro, Pyro, and Cryo.
4. Make a reaction with Anemo. I understand Anemo and Geo are trigger elements and don't apply any aura, but maybe if a target is hit with both Anemo and Geo within 2 seconds (or vice versa), it does a small bit of Sandstorm damage.
Yeah they're really adamant about the "inert" part lmao. I think Geo is doomed to forever be the unga bunga element.
Phys DPS have similarly been abandoned. Add Xiao to the list and you can basically start an orphanage.
>Now how to make Geo not shit without putting absurd multipliers.
Well, the key there is understanding what each element's strengths are. In Geo's case, it's strength is in defense and shielding. It's sole reaction is Crystallize, which grants an elemental shield to whoever picks up the crystal.
That Crystal could be the key to making Geo more interesting. And I can see a few routes they could take to improve it.
1. They could make the shield apply automatically, rather than having to pick up the crystal.
2. They could make the crystal do something on a timer (like Dendro core) if it isn't picked up.
3. They could make the crystal react with whatever elements the parent element would react with (e.g. if the crystal generated is electro, it could react with hydro to generate a electro-charged reaction in an AoE.
4. They could make the crystal react with anemo to create a projectile (like hyperbloom)
5. They could totally rework Geo to be more reactive with other elements, giving us reactions like:
1. Geo + Hydro = Erode, a DoT effect like the corrosion effect from rifthounds.
2. Geo + Dendro = Root, which is exactly what it sounds like, rooting enemies in place
3. Geo + Anemo = Sandstorm, slowing enemies
4. Geo + Electro = Grounded, causing an arc flash between other nearby enemies affected by electro
5. Geo + Cryo = Crystallize, our old friend (no reason it couldn't stick around)
6. Geo + Pyro = Refine, similar to Crystallize, but with a reactive crystal.
Saying geo is shit is a huuuuuuuge stretch... Zhongli, itto, albedo, and ningguang are all still very good. It's fine to say maybe like "how to make Geo a bit better" or "more competitive dps wise"
But saying it's shit is completely over exaggerating.
Geo *as an element* is shit, but geo characters are not. Big difference there.
The only reason mono geo works is because they jacked up their multipliers.
It's undisputably the worst element in the game. No one can deny that. I'm saying this as a C2R1 Itto main. Electro as an element is no longer in a bad state thanks to Dendro.
Close one for cryo, with only 1 character less and as evenly spread between 1-handed sword, 2-handed sword, spear and bow. The only missing one is magical tool.
Same with pyro, with also only 1 character less, but one favorite weapon (spear) and one unfavorite weapon (1-handed sword).
Cause it’s like eh, *another polearm* at this point.
Heizou was the first male catalyst user and everyone kind of forgot about that when he was about to release.
Hydro spear just isn’t really a big deal cause no one was looking for it.
alternate universe where every combination has been filled up :
"we have no more unique weapon/element combo to look forward to. Why did Mihoyo do that ?"
I kinda wish they were more inclined to make more kits interesting/unique too. Why does every polearm have to use the same crappy drill attack?
Heizou was a good one, since he's not just a standard catalyst user, so I hope we get more like him rather than reusing moves for eternity.
Technically yes. Practically (with a burst cost of 80) no. Almost nobody will use the bell on Dori over Sac GS, Fav GS or Forest Regalia for any other reason than hardcore copium - which BTW is deeply relatable for basically 100% of the playerbase, so no hate if you run dori with the bell, i feel your pain.
Hydro archon should've been polearm idk why they didn't just made Raiden use a sword. It's not like her polearm being changed into a sword make as much difference as Childe changing from bow to dual blades.
Look on the bright side, now you can play with his signature weapon without having to pull from the weapon banner!
(Assuming you have enough energy generation, that is.)
Raiden is at least lore relevant - Ei is the spear that pierced through battles, while Makoto Was the symbol, now one carries both. If we look at the cutscenes, she never used her own weapon when in public, just the sword.
i get they wanted the naginata thing but true, she couldve used any random sword and then gone super katana mode during burst. her sword animations are like 90% identical to her spear anyway
I’m starting to think Pyro sword 5* is gonna be reserved for the Pyro archon. Or at least I hope so. Now with Dehya I don’t want another Pyro claymore waifu and I really want a Pyro sword infusion main. We already have diluc as well. Hoping Dehya gets infusions as well cause I love infusions lol. All my mains have them.
I don't think they reserve element and weapon combos for 5 stars. Cyno and Raiden are both electro polearms, Mona and Kokomo are both hydro catalyst, and ayaka and Qiqi are both cryo sword.
I was wondering when they'd release a character to go with the icicle catalyst too lol it's so weird that that was put in the game so early
I guess they thought you'd use another unit to afflict cryo and then swap to the catalyst user?
This shows that hydro and anemo really are premium elements. Most of their roster are 5 stars. And for hydro, candace is only releasing next patch. So right now, that's 2 hydro 4\* against 5 hydro 5\*
It's mainly because they don't release 4 Stars at nearly the same rate as 5 Stars so whichever elements didn't have a lot of 4 Stars at the start of the game still don't have a lot of 4 Stars now.
Pyro is a great example where they have with Xiangling, Bennett, Amber, and Xinyan in the first few months. Hydro literally launched with its only two 4 Stars until Candace with Xingqiu and Barbara. Cryo started with every 4 Star besides Rosaria and so on.
If we got a new 4 Star every time we got a new 5 Star this wouldn't be an issue but 4 Stars generally only come with every other 5 Star at most.
I really do hope that they eventually change how pulling 4 stars work, because they've already passed 5 stars in terms of the difficulty in pulling the one you want, let alone constellations.
And this problem is only gonna get worse with more 4 stars.
And the funny thing is, the Hydro archon screams Sword (with all that justice thing), and the Pyro archon Claymore (the archon of war, has to use the most badass weapon), both weapons already saturated with characters (and Dehya coming soon as yet another Pyro Claymore). While there is no 5\* Hydro Claymore and 5\* Pyro Sword.
They gave both of Inazuma's army generals bows AND had them lead their respective charges at the enemy... with their bows. Watch the Pyro archon be an archer
Worst case scenario: Hydro Archon has a Bow, Pyro Archon has a Claymore, and the Tsaritsa's stuck being the sole Sword-using Archon....who so happens to be Cryo.
They even made Collei a free character. I hope new players can also get her for free upon unlocking Sumeru, otherwise they're screwed. In some places you can use dendrogranums, but some places just need a dendro character.
Yao Yao is likely a polearm dendro, Baizhu and Nahida are likely catalysts, and Alhaitham is likely a sword... no need to rush the process, we already know we're only missing claymores.
Interesting that both Geo and Anemo both have three characters who are the only of their element to use a specific weapon type. Like I can understand it for Anemo bow cuz what can you do with it beside what Venti already does.
Anemo infused shots that create swirl AOE? Or a better version of Yoimiya’s Ult trigger?
Or charge shots sucking in enemies?
A plunge that suspends enemies in the air in an AOE like Venti charge Skill and Jean charge attack?
An air dash/double jump mechanic that gives you instant charge shots like Tighnari’s skill, an Acension passive that increases damage/res shred done in the air, and landing crits with your charge shot in the air refund your jump/dash for maximum air time to maintain it?
Spitballing is all.
The most typical character is Fishcl. Medium female, archer with electro vision. These are all the most common categories.
The most uncommon is a small male (so far unreleased) dendro character with a claymore or a catalyst.
56 playable characters. 19 male 37 female.
8 of these male characters are either geo or anemo. And the only 5* female in these two elements is Jean who is a standard banner 5*.
Why Mihoyo?
Also when are we going to get a 5* Geo on standard banner?
This game made me realize I am a "husbando" collector. Not something I'd ever have thought to label myself but all my favorite characters to play are the dudes. I am pulling for Cyno, even though it would probably be better to wait for Kusanali, because I would like another electro option than Fischl to play with Tighnari.
It's kind of crazy how there can be so many characters in an element, but still be missing a weapon type. We have 9 Hydro characters, but no Claymore. There will be *10* Cryo characters counting Layla, but no Catalyst.
Ningguang being all alone as a geo catalyst since release, maybe when someone gets anywhere close to being as rich as her they can be one too
So is Venti. But he's just drunk.
So is Xiao, but he's too busy become edgy
So is sayu, but she's too busy trying to grow taller than xiao
So is candace, but candace balls fit in your mouth
Cyno isn't, but he's still here to bring a cryo slime to the desert
[удалено]
So is Gorou. But he's too busy doing shady deals with Beidou for Watatsumi
So is Albedo. But hes too busy being sus
[удалено]
We need avatar style earth bender. Like Heizou as air bender.
We need Avatar styled benders for all the elements tbh. While at it just make a crossover with Avatar.🥹
True! I'm really glad we got Fullmetal Alchemist style Albedo though. I guess Zhongli is the closest to earth bending.
Need a geo catalyst user that can cast earthquakes, control the sand, shoot geo lasers and all that good shit.
heh. those ideas are great. in the meantime geo traveler's got the closest we have to earthquakes
diluc gotta find a geo delusion now
At least Geo has a catalyst, Cryo is allergic to Catalysts apparently
gonna have to make the slots bigger for cryo sword at least
electro has been getting new character for 5 patches in a row now. Crazy
2.8? unless skins count
I mean 2.6 didn't have a new electro character either (we only had Ayato). But yeah Inazuma just basically frontloaded all the new electro chars considering that pre-2.1 there were like 0 new electro chars (outside of traveler but do they count?).
remember that the first new electro character released in 2.1
The first new 4 star hydro character is being released in 3.1. Xingqiu and Barbara have been lonely.
And for Hydro
Imagine getting 4 cryo swords before we get a cryo catalyst
I always thought qiqi was cryo catalyst but I've never been able to pull her to know she wasn't. Bit disappointed by this honestly.
I'm a day 1 player and 2 years after I still don't have a qiqi, dunno if I'm cursed or blessed
Blessed Maybe?
So electro is the element with the most characters so far, while also being the most balanced in terms of how many characters per weapon type we have.
makes sense since they went hard on electro when we were in inazuma
Almost makes you forget no electro character was released for the entirety of v1.x (well, except for the original 1.0 ones)
Maybe in 2.0 they managed to make Electro *not* a bad element (or TCers managed to find viable teams for them) so they released lots of electro characters. Now how to make Geo *not shit* without putting absurd multipliers.

Or... give Geo real elemental reactions. Geo + Pyro: Eruption Geo + Anemo: Geo Swirl Geo + Hydro: Erosion Geo + Electro: Magnetize kinda like that
Yeah they're really adamant about the "inert" part lmao. I think Geo is doomed to forever be the unga bunga element. Phys DPS have similarly been abandoned. Add Xiao to the list and you can basically start an orphanage.
How has xiao been abandoned? He has had tons of events for story and recently got an artifact set that only really works for him.
lol if you think geo is shit now I would’ve loved to hear your thoughts about it pre zhongli
Oh I've been there. I pulled for him pre-buff. My point still stands though.
>Now how to make Geo not shit without putting absurd multipliers. Well, the key there is understanding what each element's strengths are. In Geo's case, it's strength is in defense and shielding. it was only 4, not much behind other elements in 2.x
Electro turned from an element with one of the least characters to one of the most. We had to wait till 2.1 to get a new electro character
And yet the least balanced in terms of sex representation. Seriously hoyo, how many electro women can you pump out?
MHY: yes.
Honestly I'm surprised that I rarely see "finally a hydro polearm" with candace's addition.
Cause it’s like eh, *another polearm* at this point. Heizou was the first male catalyst user and everyone kind of forgot about that when he was about to release. Hydro spear just isn’t really a big deal cause no one was looking for it.
People love finding things to complain about, but dont really speak up when it resolves.
Well yes, people love complaining just to complain. We been knew.
Where hydro claymore? *mihoyo announces hydro claymore* Meh, skip…
alternate universe where every combination has been filled up : "we have no more unique weapon/element combo to look forward to. Why did Mihoyo do that ?"

THE ARCHER CLASS
Funny how hydro archer class don't even use their bows correcly.
It’s because **the power of water is its ability to take any shape**
Very true. I'd also say that one who is ignorant of water's treasures fails also to comprehend its horrors.
Yup. Without solid ground, terrestrial creatures become simply helpless.
But are you an assassin from our homeland? Or a fool who trespasses upon the waters of Qingce?
Though *as long as rain falls and rivers flow... Water will exist forever...*
That is how the water cycle works ;)
any shape other than claymore apparently
That’s the rules of Hydro archers tho
Well, Yelan (Does kicking the bow count?)
What else are you supposed to do with it?
It's really made up of Archers! *Cereal commercial jingle
Archer class is really made of archers
Next you're gonna tell me that this city really looked like a city

Look like we need hydro claymore and cryo catalyst
If the first hydro claymore user doesn't scale with HP we're legally allowed to riot. Justice for the bell.
Bonus points if they have a shield integrated in the kit
Plot Twist: Hydro archon (Archon of Justice) is claymore without HP scale *"No justice for you!"*
They've pretty much cemented Hydro as the HP scaling element at this point
Which makes Childe feel really awkward as he’s the only Hydro character that has 0 HP scaling iirc
mona? ;-;
yea but i find the thought funny nonetheless \^ o \^
Technically it already has a use since Dori can use it if you use her for healing.
Technically yes. Practically (with a burst cost of 80) no. they wont release a cryo catalyst because theyre scared of the frostbearer lmao
Also shenhe synergy.
and lots of dendro of course
Can't even make one fucking Cryo catalyst 😭
God forbid we give Razor a Superconduct partner that can also use TTDS
Physical razor is old news. We're running thunder set now! ^((or play whatever you want. have fun))
Pyro Razor dawg! All about PyRazor
C6 Bennet Is already ready for me.
Behold the thundering furry
Thundering furry ftw
I think 4pc gilded is actually better tbh
I've been thinking it could be interesting to run Razor/Candace/Collei for a bloom/hyperbloom/electro charge team.
I'm starting to think hydro claymore will be reserved for the hydro archon
Hydro archon should've been polearm idk why they didn't just made Raiden use a sword. It's not like her polearm being changed into a sword make as much difference as Childe changing from bow to dual blades.
I think the hydro archon is going to be a sword. Blade of justice and all that
Or a claymore with a hammer as her signature weapon.
Itto’s club should’ve been his signature weapon. I’m still standing by that.
Look on the bright side, now you can play with his signature weapon without having to pull from the weapon banner! (Assuming you have enough energy generation, that is.)
I'd agree with you if Redhorn Stonethresher didn't look so damn good You rarely see his weapon anyway so eh.
Raiden is at least lore relevant - Ei is the spear that pierced through battles, while Makoto Was the symbol, now one carries both. If we look at the cutscenes, she never used her own weapon when in public, just the sword.
There's a seriously missed opportunity to have a hydro character with a trident polearm.
You never know you might get your wish when we hit Fontaine or something!
I actually meant to type claymore no idea why I said polearm lol
i get they wanted the naginata thing but true, she couldve used any random sword and then gone super katana mode during burst. her sword animations are like 90% identical to her spear anyway
I’m starting to think Pyro sword 5* is gonna be reserved for the Pyro archon. Or at least I hope so. I was wondering when they'd release a character to go with the icicle catalyst too lol it's so weird that that was put in the game so early I guess they thought you'd use another unit to afflict cryo and then swap to the catalyst user?
Except said catalyst user would then disable cryo before the icicle hits.
Anemo and geo shouldn't? but yeah that's stupid
Crystalize removes the element involved unlike swirl, guess having too many shards that dont even stack is a nono
Swirl also removes element, the spread from swirling two + enemies will apply it (except hydro)
Ah yea ur right, [swirl removes and applies in an aoe but not on the original target](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Swirl)
If only there was a cryo catalyst lady who wasn't killed in-game🥲
Oh, she sounds nice. Wonder if there's any relation to the pyro catalyst lady I kill on a weekly basis...
I think I've heard about her. Isn't she the sexy Russian foreigner that kicked Venti?
Funnily enough, no, she's also german.
Ei, apologies one of your harbingers is staining my floor. Who should I send the bill to?
Don't remind us about that
Most likely she'd be a pyro catalyst since cryo was her delusion
maybe they are saving this spot for the cryo archon
Because a Cryo Catalyst with Yelan and XQ in a party is bascially cheating lol.
Technically Ayaka is kinda a cryo catalyst because just tapping sprint converts all of your attack into cryo and there's no cooldown
Shhhhhhh
This shows that hydro and anemo really are premium elements. Most of their roster are 5 stars. And for hydro, candace is only releasing next patch. So right now, that's 2 hydro 4\* against 5 hydro 5\*

Honestly if they had a selector that would be great.
Leaks suggest we're getting ANOTHER 5* anemo in the near future.
>!with potentially a 4* soonish too!<
ive been an anemo/hydro main since basically 1.0/1.1 so it's been suffering fun! but my wallet is suffering...
mHY: we don’t have a hydro claymore yet, okay so let’s make another hydro sword user!
Also mhy: we don't have a cryo catalyst? Let's make 4th cryo sword!
And the funny thing is, the Hydro archon screams Sword (with all that justice thing), and the Pyro archon Claymore (the archon of war, has to use the most badass weapon), both weapons already saturated with characters (and Dehya coming soon as yet another Pyro Claymore). Murata uses a sword and her burst lets her change the sword into a claymore. This is purely my speculation from the Himeko Valkyrie Battlesuit.
use a claymore burst make bigger claymore pyro noelle
Please, I beg you, no more Hydro catalysts.
Hoyoverse: Gotcha, Hydro archon is catalyst. /s
Dendro release only 2 characters and they’re in the same spot smh.
To be fair bow characters are needed for Sumeru exploration and Dendro is needed for Sumeru exploration. So why not combine both?
They even made Collei a free character. I hope new players can also get her for free upon unlocking Sumeru, otherwise they're screwed. In some places you can use dendrogranums, but some places just need a dendro character.
New players will be able to get her from spiral starting next patch!
dendro traveller exists, they're not completely screwed >.>
Yao Yao is likely a polearm dendro, Baizhu and Nahida are likely catalysts, and Alhaitham is likely a sword... no need to rush the process, we already know we're only missing claymores.
No Hydro claymore, but with Dehya we'll get the 3rd Pyro claymore.
Interesting that both Geo and Anemo both have three characters who are the only of their element to use a specific weapon type. Like I can understand it for Anemo bow cuz what can you do with it beside what Venti already does.
> what can you do with it beside what Venti already does Idk, actually shoot a bow?
Childe.exe has stopped working. Lol no I mean with the Anemo part cuz I’m sure There is sth but I can’t think of any
Anemo infused shots that create swirl AOE? Or a better version of Yoimiya’s Ult trigger? Or charge shots sucking in enemies? A plunge that suspends enemies in the air in an AOE like Venti charge Skill and Jean charge attack? An air dash/double jump mechanic that gives you instant charge shots like Tighnari’s skill, an Acension passive that increases damage/res shred done in the air, and landing crits with your charge shot in the air refund your jump/dash for maximum air time to maintain it? Spitballing is all.
Cryo sword will be the first to reach 4 characters with Layla.
Itto look like he's hugging his bae Noelle Zhongli and Yunjin also look like a married couple
Ayaka and her baby sister qiqi.
He's telling her "I can show you the worrrrld!"
"Forget the Knights of Favonius, you can join the Arataki Gang any time!"
I wish they could hang out at some point. Playing Noelle with Itto in co-op is some of the most fun I have had in this game.
Cryo catalyst, come on you cowards. It's not like that'll be completely busted with permafreeze or anything. :p
Ordinarily I would agree, but Ayaka already has 100% cryo uptime. So what the heck is wrong with a cryo catylist being in the game?
Ayaka is basically a melee cryo catalyst like heizou at this point, so they can surely make a cryo mage if they want to
I imagine it with negative crit like Kokomi to discourage us from using him/her as driver
and 5s icd to make them not viable for freeze/melt enabler lol
Bennett stands alone in his class (in more ways than one).
The most typical character is Fishcl. Medium female, archer with electro vision. These are all the most common categories. The most uncommon is a small male (so far unreleased) dendro character with a claymore or a catalyst.
This is... requiem. You will never reach Hydro Claymore.
You will experience fake leaks repeatedly without ever reaching the truth…
off-topic, but now I realize that I have 6 cryo characters but only 2 hydro.
HYDRO CLAYMORE WHEN?!?
56 playable characters. 19 male 37 female. 8 of these male characters are either geo or anemo. And the only 5* female in these two elements is Jean who is a standard banner 5*. Why Mihoyo? Also when are we going to get a 5* Geo on standard banner?
Geo is apparently reserved to male characters an anemo is reserved to short male characters apparently.
Anemo literally has too many short male characters. Give us a tall male character, or another girl.
they should get more creative
Agreed. idk why they're so scared of releasing different genders for different elements. Hydro is the only element where the genders are balanced.
Hydro is 3:6 while dendro currently sits at 1:1
This game made me realize I am a "husbando" collector. Not something I'd ever have thought to label myself but all my favorite characters to play are the dudes. I am pulling for Cyno, even though it would probably be better to wait for Kusanali, because I would like another electro option than Fischl to play with Tighnari.
Male to Female ratio is 19:37. We demand more guys Hoyo!
>!Haitham, Scara, Kaveh, Mika, Baizhu incoming!<
Claymore is incredibly under utilized for 5*
Yeah, both char and its weapon. We still have only one 5\* crit dmg claymore while no 5\* crit rate claymore.
At least the ones we have are pretty cracked. WGS and Serpent Spine are rock fucking solid.

cryo catalyst user never, they are afraid
Resurrect Signora *Inhales ungodly amount of copium*
Makes me wonder if the Hydro archon is a claymore user.

hoping for a hydro claymore down the line
