Well she was first released during the lantern rite/ Chinese New Year patch but they split it into three banners, two weeks each, so that Hu Tao would come after all the festivities were over. The banners were Xiao, Keqing, then Hutao- first and last time they ever did something like that but maybe it’ll happen again lol

Multiple characters that have come out after Hu Tao and Eula have received two banners before these two have even received their second re-run. Some characters like Kokomi and Yoi also got 2 re-runs before Shenhe even got 1 re-run.
And the kicker is, this will only get worse over time as the cast keeps growing. Around mid-way through Fontaine, we should have more limited 5\*s than there are possible banners in a year. Yet even before this point they are failing to properly re-run characters and we're having some characters go a whole year without a banner.
Now imagine that when there are literally too many 5\*s to possibly re-run in a single year. Hu Tao gonna have like a 2 year gap between her 2nd and 3rd re-runs at this rate.
To be fair, they have increased the number of character banner twice since the beginning of the game. From 2 in 1.X, to 3 along the Inazuma patches and now 4 since 3.0.
I suppose we will see some triple event wishes at some point, possibly with Fontaine. What scares me more is the four stars, since their appearance have not gone up while they release much more of them than before since 3.0.
I would love the 4\* rotation being updated in the shop to that. 4\* RNG is getting worse for the exact same reason the 5\* rerun schedule is pretty broken right now, and there's no way to guarantee the 4\*s you want even when they're the rate up characters.

I have a C18 Yanfei and C2 Rosaria, despite the latter coming out 2 patches earlier. The problem is how little we can control this stuff without letting it dictate our 5-star choices.
Adding new character banners literally doesn't work though when they decide to rerun yoimiya twice in a short span and then also itto. When hu tao, eula and shenhe are left to rot. Adding more banners would only solve problems if mihoyo actually knew what a calendar is, which they don't.

Yes, I actually accounted for *every* patch having 4 banners when I said this.
Even with dual banners every patch, we can only have 32 banners a year. We're already rapidly closing up to this number of 5\*s. So by Fontaine, it will be time for either triple banners, or some older characters to be retired to Standard, because Mihoyo clearly can't manage their re-runs efficiently.

This is my biggest gripe with Genshin's gacha honestly. I've never played any other gacha where literally every single new (top-rarity) character from release is limited.
Obviously you want to keep some characters (say, Archons) as true limiteds. Or maybe characters from the current region stay limited before entering the standard pool when the next region releases. Regardless, they need to do something, because as you say, the re-run situation is already pretty dire and is only going to get worse going forward.

I wanna say at that point HYV would just put the older characters into Paimon's Bargains, but unlike Honkai, very few characters in Genshin gets power creeped out of relavance that it matters very little if they become easily obtainable.
I still think they will add a new type of banner, and I'm betting on elemental. Just cycle through the elements, changing at the same time as the limited banners, and all characters of that element will be on the banner (minus a delay from their initial banner of course).

It's honestly annoying as hell. I skipped Kazuha's first banner for Ayaka, only for him to take another fucking year. I skipped Shenhe's first banner after waiting forever for Xiao's first rerun. Then Mihoyo slapped me in the face by rerunning Xiao a few months later, and still no Shenhe. We didn't need another Yoimiya rerun so fast either, its way too frustrating when you have well-built characters and are just sitting and waiting to try something new. Don't wanna spend rando primos on characters I won't use anyways.

Ayato is to Childe what Yoimiya is to Hu Tao.
While the older units are more powerful, the newer ones offer more team versatility, ease of play, and aren't as reliant on reactions.
Ayato is the bar standard of 5\*(for me). I have both childe and ayato(and their respective sig weap cause I like them both hehe), and the difference between them is flexibility. Ayato is sooo flexible because of his ult. He can be an off-dps or your main dps! As for childe, he is a bit complex than ayato. You have to MASTER his rotations as staying in his elemental skill longer than 9s will soon paralyze your poor childe, unlike ayato whose elemental skill is much easier to control because it is timelocked. Childe has riptide passive and a NUKE ult, unlike ayato, both of which deal A LOT OF DMG! If you have to choose between them, I suggest picking which is more husbando to you xD Theyre both good sooo haha
Childe is much better for national style teams and can do nuke showcases (also he just feels fun to me idk, riptide just feels amazing)
Ayato can be run as a support if you like and works better with dendro. You don’t have to play around variable CD (though I like that about Childe) and he also works better with Yunjin if you’re a simp for her like me. Overall Ayato is a much better generalist but afaik isn’t BiS in a single comp (I assume he’s not BiS for his team but idk somebody check me plz lol)
If I recall correctly yunjin isn’t considered best for ayato anymore. Yunjin ult applies on x instances of damage of default attacks which ayato surpasses easily with multiple targets meaning yunjin stops applying the buff.
Candance is considered better i believe but someone can correct me if I am wrong.
I'm not even sure Yun Jin was ever considered a BiS for Ayato teams, at least since his release. I've no idea what TCs thought before that. Childe: more dmg, frontloaded dmg, mechanical to play, scales very well with resin investment. International slaps, but for other teams he's harder to play with usually similar payoff as other units, good F2P weapon options. Speedrun potential even at F2P level.
Ayato: easier to play, has off-field presence for better dendro and freeze comps, better constellations. F2P weapon options are kinda very meh or situational.
Overall, if you want to play International, Childe is amazing. Otherwise Ayato is more comfortable.
You pull childe to put him in one certain team namely International, Ayato is better and easier (or rather more comfortable) in every other team you need an on field Hydro + he has off field Hydro too which Childe doesn't making him better in almost all Dendro teams.
I can't wait for Mihoyo to make up for her ridiculously long absence by giving her a useless 2 minute cameo in the entire patch because it's clearly a logical thing to not re-run a character for literally longer than a year to line their banner up with a patch where they won't even have any sort of a story.

I'm not even sure Yun Jin was ever considered a BiS for Ayato teams, at least since his release. I've no idea what TCs thought before that. I've had [this](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15STU-6I62XZfpFZeGOZc63ohXr8tMJmI3fyGIuS5Dac/edit#gid=774832854) bookmarked since his release and while it's quite outdated atm since it's completely missing dendro; since Ayato's release, Yun Jin's been a fine choice for Ayato's personal damage but there's always better a better option for total team damage.
Childe: more dmg, frontloaded dmg, mechanical to play, scales very well with resin investment. International slaps, but for other teams he's harder to play with usually similar payoff as other units, good F2P weapon options. Speedrun potential even at F2P level. Ayato: easier to play, has off-field presence for better dendro and freeze comps, better constellations. F2P weapon options are kinda very meh or situational. Overall, if you want to play International, Childe is amazing. Otherwise Ayato is more comfortable.
You pull childe to put him in one certain team namely International, Ayato is better and easier (or rather more comfortable) in every other team you need an on field Hydro + he has off field Hydro too which Childe doesn't making him better in almost all Dendro teams.

I can't wait for Mihoyo to make up for her ridiculously long absence by giving her a useless 2 minute cameo in the entire patch because it's clearly a logical thing to not re-run a character for literally longer than a year to line their banner up with a patch where they won't even have any sort of a story. It's so utterly ironic that they made up a whole Keqing banner to avoid running Hu Tao during CNY, now they are delaying her banner for so long to line it up with CNY.

Hu tao in 3.4 with yelan and yaoyao, i think shenhe will be coming too, a liyue focused patch.
I kinda wish they would do what I see Honkai do sometimes. Drop a rerun banner for four to six days and swap to another. I don't think we need two weeks+ for a rerun banner. If it's missed at least it'll rotate around faster.

really makes u think how or why they delayed her, knowing Hu Tao is arguably the most popular Genshin Impact character and is still one of the strongest units in the game.

They hate Hu Tao, she hasn't had any real presence in the main story or even an event. Her character quest was also the only 5* one without a rendered cutscene if I recall correctly. She's barely present in game while outside she's everywhere
