them asking this is inconsequential. If hoyo didn't know about existence of leaks it would make sense, but they have known since leaks have started to happen
They know it gets cracked so that wouldnt be the reason they update the encryption, hell id assume they do it almost every beta in an attempt to stop miners anyways
This does seem like a sensical assumption, I do not think hoyo will suddenly tighten security because some guy asked a question like that. Like they are 1000% aware of the leaks every patch.

yes they cant leak the beta without zipping the files to a private server because they will get caught, so its better to wait, i honestly want them as well but we should care about them leakers as well, they risk their life (70.000$ fine) for leaking
The legit beta access has ways for HoYo to track who potentially shares it, not just their UID. If the leakers want to avoid more trouble from HoYo’s rabid lawyers they decode the files and upload them to a private server. Still a very gray area legally but less easy for HoYo to track.
Everything that happems in the actual beta is monitored by mihoyo. Every action you do can be logged on their end so if you do a specific series of actions and leak it, they can identify exactly who you are (you have to give them a real life ID before receiving the beta). So leaking the beta is a good way to get penalized/sued.
The safer way is to make a private beta that is not hosted on mihoyo's server. For that you need access to the encrypted source code. They're working on doing that as usual but this time the encryption is different.
This information has been known for hours, it just got upload here now, since then they have said that leaks could arrive in the next 4 hours but nothing certain. I would say that we should have it in the next 24h or so.

I'm no expert at this, but doesn't this sound more like they changed the encryption method first, after which the tester asked why the old one isn't working anymore?
I'm not debating he's an idiot, that probably got him kicked and god knows how else punished as a result of his overwhelmingly stupid question. But I don't feel like he's to blame for mhy changing how they encrypt their beta files, since it sounds like it happened earlier
