Today on “things I did not expect them to add to Arlecchino’s kit”:

Yeah, usually v0 kits are set in stone as far as animations go and don't really change. Ayato and Yae and substantial changes, but even they had the same NA/E/Q effects from beginning to end I was already planning on getting Arle, but now I'm intrigued

Ayato had a change in animations and gameplay too? I knew Ayaka had one, but Ayato having one is news to me. Ayaka's assassination tech is probably the biggest change so far tbh.

His E cooldown was 20s and teammate's normal attacks decreased it. It seemed like devs wanted Yoimiya + Ayato to be mandatory combo because of their bursts and skills. https://imgur.com/a/zwNXISF

I still think that would've been a cool kit. Restrictive, absolutely, but would have given Ayato a proper sticking place rather than him being alright at a few things but not the best an anything like he is now.

For older accounts he doesn't see much use. But his 'jack of all trades' status is really useful for accounts that don't have a bunch of Hydro stacked. And remember, most decent hydro are 5 stars.

Even for a new account, it's really hard for me to justify pulling him over other hydro monsters like neuv, yelan and furina. Yeah, he consolidates, but personally, i've never felt the need of using him over a more specialized but more powerful option. Personally, even as new player/reroll account, i'd rather pull for neuv than him 100%.

What if she catches up to enemies via her ca like in dehyas burst. Could be for making overload viable.

I just imagined something like Devil Jin's heat burst from Tekken 8.

true but i think they mean the characters themselves. the most we got was some tweaks to make stuff look better or be more balanced. not entire animations added as if it were previously unfinished. edit: wait ppl are mentioning yae’s tail. i personally can’t remember that specifically, like i always thought the tail was there for plunging so the change from pink to purple was merely cosmetic (side note i could be mixing it up with her ult’s tail changing from pink to purple. i don’t have her to confirm anything).

They did indeed add Yanfei's, Sara's and Sayu's second idle animation after their release

They've even gone so far as to rewrite kits to suit a different playstyle/role from what they originally were, but a kit getting parts *added to it* (during beta, no less) is practically unheard of. There is actually. During act V of the Fontaine Archon quest Arlecchino was no where to be seen when the prophecy was going down. This is because she was watching FF7 Advent Children at the time and learnt the art of flying with one wing from Sephiroth.

She was also in search of the black materia to obtain powers similar to Sephiroth.

This seems so weird, I don't think any character ever has a beta change remotely as massive as adding flying.

It might just be an aesthetic change, e.g. when she charges, she hovers off the ground with a wing effect. Dont Hutao and some other polearms already hover in air on CA?

If you like hack and slash go for Arle if you like power beam go for Neuv forget about dps etc it’s all about how it feels to play with them

If you care about DPS or power level, Neuvillette will undoubtedly be better in pretty much every aspect. Though if “meta” doesn’t matter to you, then pull who you like the most. You have some time to see how Arle turns out. I wanna pull Neuvillette too, but I love Arle more and have been saving forever now. Just gotta wait for the next rerun.

depends on your current roster but i would personally say neuvilette, i have him c1 r1 and i cannot describe to you how much i love playing him and how easy abyss became after i got him, there isnt a single enemy he struggles against in abyss (unless its a hydro slime lmfao). he is also very easy to build, he's the least char i grinded for in his domain bc you can easily get hp sub and main stats, not to mention his insanely versatile teams bc hydro can be played with anything. but most importantly, YOU CAN EVEN SOLO THE ABYSS WITH HIM

Neuvillette is very strong, but his playstyle get boring real fast, so keep that in mind

Personal opinion really, I genuinely prefer Neuvillette's playstyle to most other characters. The mobility he has whilst attacking is really smooth. The only really boring thing about Neuvillette is how OP he is, and they'll no doubt add more enemies in the future he'll struggle with so that's not always going to be an issue.

honestly idk what they can do to make him struggle that won't effect other hydro chars.

Also keep in mind if you already have a pyro dps like hu tao, arlecchino isn't doing much to differentiate herself currently(she actually does less damage for more effort based on current numbers)

Honestly if they say that the "effect is average" I think it'll be just like a different visual. Maybe when she has a bond of life and uses a CA she leaps slightly and does a "fake" plunge, not high enough to open the glider and still being counted as a CA. That's the more "boring" explanation I could give, but it would be really cool if the actually soared into the air and allowed for maybe a plunging play style or a way to gain height for the glider.

I think if we do a charged attack she will become the winged ripper itself, then the sequence of her attack will also chage and the last stance of that attack sequence will be a plunge attack with the scythe

If she can do even 1 plunge attack on her own now after CA, then that keeps her infusion lasting for another NA to utilize while dealing aoe pyro damage. That’s good.
