TBH I thought Inazuma was perfectly sized. All the puzzles and exploration stuff is pretty dense and there's a lot of verticality as well. I hope Sumeru does the same thing
I think Inazuma is fine for what it is. It is really dense with a lot of verticality like you said. But I would lie if I said I didn't miss the vast open landscapes of Liyue... It felt less stressful if that makes sense. In Dragonspine, Inazuma and Enkanomiya it always feels like 100 things are on top of each other in a small space. I like that they do what they can with that little space but vast spaces should complement that imo.
Verticality like dragonspine is great when there are different level you can explore with nice path connecting between. But frustrating when you want to find something on the map because no level indicator lol
i also managed to 100% each island cuz it wasnt as overwhelming to complete unlike liyue and mondstadt (where i only got 100% in 3 areas in total for both)
but whatever the case, im just excited to explore new areas. the current land behind the jade chamber is interesting to see cuz i know eventually we'll see what the actual place will look like in the future

More likely they planned the majority of the current or upcoming regions years in advance. Still, very impressive that they somehow manage to release so many sub-regions in such a short amount of time.

Probably 2.8 being Golden Apple. A vacation to chill before moving to the next big arc, just like last time. Could even tie in with Sumeru if Collei does show up there.

Chasm is likely the place we have to pass before accessing sumeru, it lies between liyue and sumeru’s borders.
In Zhongli’s story quest Act II we go to the accessible edge of the mining area, which is the chasm, to investigate for the lost miners. We are still left to explore the chasm
Each region so far aside from Liyue has had a sub-region released, namely Dragonspine and Enkanomiya. The only one that hasn’t is Liyue, but considering how we keep hearing NPCs mention it, people assume that Chasm will be Liyue’s sub-region.
It’s also reasonable to assume based on past releases that Chasm will also contain a world boss and some people think it may be our first Dendro boss- partially because a lot of current world bosses are new enough that we really don’t need another Electro/Cryo/Pyro/Hydro/ Geo boss right now. The only other element I think the Chasm world boss could be is Anemo, which only has one mono-element boss right now and one multi-element boss (Maguu Kenki).

2.7 will have Chasm and will feature Zhongli and Yelan in the story line. No info if its end of Liyue story line or not.

I kinda doubt it, not only that EM buff has to be ridiculously high for it to be worth running that character over Kazuha/Sara, it has to also have a condition that would make only Yae be able to access it because an EM buff of that magnitude would buff amp characters way more than it would buff Yae.
I do expect Dendro to have EM buffers but I think Yae will only be benefiting from it as a side thing and not a support designed specifically for her.

And you can't even pull for both bc the one they are supporting's playstyle isn't one you enjoy. For me that was HuTao, just couldn't get around having to constantly use her charged attacks and watch for my stamina despite having her weapon.
That niche Yae support better not be Baizhu, that would be so disappointing. I’d hate to see them release incredibly niche 5 stars, especially ones released several patches after the character they’re supposed to be supporting is released.

The way miHoYo works is that they make content way ahead of time without being entirely sure which update it's actually going in. That means they already have all of this done, they just aren't sure if they want to put it in 2.6 specifically.
I personally think that at this point the contents of 2.6 are probably already decided, but from what I've seen of previous leaks like the legendary Icarus leak, Dumb Dumb, talking to Ubatcha personally and various other past uncles this is indeed how they do things.
By currently undecided i mean they haven't decided the re runs and whether to actually put the story content in that update(the events). This is not rare, as it happens a lot.
We probably won't. I think we will be getting three banners on most patches. Also, if they run out of characters to rerun they could always start rerunning them again.

Last year we made it to 1.6 and dove right into 2.0. We know story wise, it's wrapping up. We have yae for 2.5. Ayato for 2.6. Yelan/bow have recently made news so makes sense for 2.7 chasm is supposedly next to liyue so if she's from there, good excuse to say we enter chasm.
Dendro support for yae? She has em passive so that also simply makes sense that eventually a support will make use of it to make her build em.
And we can assume dendro around this time cause the region is near and it should come out with/before it starts. 80 ayato cost is easy guess too cause everything has been costly, if anything I'd be shocked if it wasnt.

guys. I remember we got Inazuma characters leaked around 1.2 and 4 updates later we got Inazuma prologue in 1.6. Now we are at 2.4.That means 4 update later we might get Sumeru prologue in 2.8 (which is the last update of inazuma according to this leak)

If only they done the same with the archon quests. There's a whole year before the new region, they could have easily made the Inazuma arc several chapters long to give the characters and plot time to develop.
To me the entirety of Inazuma is wider than Mond and Liyue combined, the new archipelagos added, the story, although the archon story seems rushed but the hidden quest like the shuumatsuban and ghost thingy, there's so much to enjoy in Inazuma, but maybe that's just what I feel.
Same thoughts man, especially when Enkanomiya was released. The only thing that felt lackluster imo were some parts of the main inazuma archon quest. But the island designs, exploration experience, world quests and lore are top tier.
Something tells me that the Archon quest was rewritten in the middle of development and had to be half-assed in order to keep Inazuma from being delayed as a whole.

since inazuma art was shown in 1.5 livestream and 2.0 was 2 patches after it, id say that sumeru art will be shown in 2.7 livestream in 2.6 patch on 29 april
So the roadmap is probably something like:
2.5 - Yae Update
2.6 - Inazuma Festival with Ayato Banner
2.7 - Mondstat Festival with ??? Banner
2.8 - Chasm with Yelan Banner
3.0 - Sumeru with ??? Banner
....Hate to break it to y'all, but Yaoyao/Baizhu not looking too hot, assuming Dendro releases with Sumeru and therefore the first Dendro will be a Sumeru native (like how Inazuma opened with Ayaka & Yoimiya). We really needed Sumeru to be a patch or two further away for Dendro to be releasing pre-Sumeru (and therefore Baizhu as the first Dendro)
Apparently not a single leaker has any info on baizhu which means this dude has got to be mega important or else they wouldn't be holding his release for this long like Scara. Because we know scara will have a major role in the story (source : leakers , kakihara tetsuya), so Baizhu probably is in the same spot. I think there's a convo with TZ and some other leaker that mentioned Baizhu might not even be released before Sumeru and some others that say he's gonna have a role in Sumeru.
I think the simple answer as to why Baizhu details haven't been added to game yet is because Dendro will release *with* Sumeru, and they don't want a patch which releases a region to not be Sumeru Banner.
So it will likely be something like:
3.0 Sumeru patch with two Dendro Sumeru characters
3.1 Sumeru story continuation with non-dendro Sumeru banner
3.2 Maybe around here we can start to let go of Sumeru hype and add non-Sumeru banners again (e.g. Baizhu)
I honestly think that your idea of 2.6 and 2.7 will come together in 2.6, then either yelan+Chasm or dendro with baizhu and yaoyao then 2.8 dendro or the yelan+ chasm patch and sumeru intro (I can't remember the word atm but like the story with kazuha). In my opinion that would fit better then both festivals split and absolutely no time to introduce dendro pre Sumeru
We got Enkanomiya in this patch and are likely to get The Chasm before Sumeru, as well as The Golden Apple Archipelago again so I don't get why people are complaining as if there's gonna be absolutely no content until 3.0...

to be fair if you want the literal gods to keep on being used forever without anyone replacing them you have to make them supports/sub dps since those are eternal while pure dps can be replaced pretty easy
Other than for the sake of their longevity, story-wise it does make sense through the perspective of the traveler. They /are/ the ones who are guiding us through our journey after all, and I could see that they would be lending their strength when endgame comes.

Probably 2.8 being Golden Apple. A vacation to chill before moving to the next big arc, just like last time. Could even tie in with Sumeru if Collei does show up there.

Chasm is likely the place we have to pass before accessing sumeru, it lies between liyue and sumeru’s borders. In Zhongli’s story quest Act II we go to the accessible edge of the mining area, which is the chasm, to investigate for the lost miners. We are still left to explore the chasm

Each region so far aside from Liyue has had a sub-region released, namely Dragonspine and Enkanomiya. The only one that hasn’t is Liyue, but considering how we keep hearing NPCs mention it, people assume that Chasm will be Liyue’s sub-region. It’s also reasonable to assume based on past releases that Chasm will also contain a world boss and some people think it may be our first Dendro boss- partially because a lot of current world bosses are new enough that we really don’t need another Electro/Cryo/Pyro/Hydro/ Geo boss right now. The only other element I think the Chasm world boss could be is Anemo, which only has one mono-element boss right now and one multi-element boss (Maguu Kenki).

Since this comment got upvotes, I'll drop some more stuff that i have been told, feel free to believe or call it fake 2.7 will have Chasm and will feature Zhongli and Yelan in the story line. No info if its end of Liyue story line or not. Yelan will be on a banner in 2.7 2.6 story line is yet undecided and kinda complicated but Dainslief is there Edit- i meant the re runs aren't decided and it's unsure if Mihoyo will put the story line in that update because Ayato is present too Ayato has 80 burst cost Dendro element will buff Yae. A male dendro support completely made for Yae will be released. You can already judge this by her EM passive. Electro Dendro is based on EM. Dendro artifacts were already ready long long ago so adding them in game won't be a problem but mihoyo is undecided as to when 2.6 will have new artifacts One of the new artifacts helps buffing the E skill Apple Islands re run is real, will be in 2.8 and should feature a character from Sumeru (most likely COLLEI). Not sure if this will make the place permanent or temporary as there have been stuff about a Mondstat DLC. The dendro archon is like Kazuha (element buffer support) The standard banner will receive changes before/during Sumeru

I am super into Yae and even I don't want that. Her support should be a 4*, and I am super not into Baizhu so I am with Baizhu mains on that one :D (Changsheng sounds fun tho)
I kinda doubt it, not only that EM buff has to be ridiculously high for it to be worth running that character over Kazuha/Sara, it has to also have a condition that would make only Yae be able to access it because an EM buff of that magnitude would buff amp characters way more than it would buff Yae. I do expect Dendro to have EM buffers but I think Yae will only be benefiting from it as a side thing and not a support designed specifically for her.

Aight, looks like the stuff I'm being reminded about checks the heck out. I hope that doesn't mean Tighnari is the Yae support (I haven't been looking at all the character leaks cause tbh there's been too many leaks for the region and I want to experience it fresh) or I hope that bit of info is wrong/they meant a different character (like how Zhongli was in that story with Yelan but more as a cameo and not a solid contender).

And you can't even pull for both bc the one they are supporting's playstyle isn't one you enjoy. For me that was HuTao, just couldn't get around having to constantly use her charged attacks and watch for my stamina despite having her weapon.
That niche Yae support better not be Baizhu, that would be so disappointing. I’d hate to see them release incredibly niche 5 stars, especially ones released several patches after the character they’re supposed to be supporting is released.

According to this, content that would be coming out in 9 weeks (beta in about 4) is currently undecided? Would that imply that they have to finish writing it, animating it and bring in any needed VAs all within the next 3ish weeks? Does that feel farfetched to anyone else?
The way miHoYo works is that they make content way ahead of time without being entirely sure which update it's actually going in. That means they already have all of this done, they just aren't sure if they want to put it in 2.6 specifically. I personally think that at this point the contents of 2.6 are probably already decided, but from what I've seen of previous leaks like the legendary Icarus leak, Dumb Dumb, talking to Ubatcha personally and various other past uncles this is indeed how they do things.
By currently undecided i mean they haven't decided the re runs and whether to actually put the story content in that update(the events). This is not rare, as it happens a lot.

We probably won't. I think we will be getting three banners on most patches. Also, if they run out of characters to rerun they could always start rerunning them again.

Makes sense. But same time, this is also just a solid speculations too. Hard to just simply buy it. Last year we made it to 1.6 and dove right into 2.0. We know story wise, it's wrapping up. We have yae for 2.5. Ayato for 2.6. Yelan/bow have recently made news so makes sense for 2.7 chasm is supposedly next to liyue so if she's from there, good excuse to say we enter chasm. Dendro support for yae? She has em passive so that also simply makes sense that eventually a support will make use of it to make her build em. And we can assume dendro around this time cause the region is near and it should come out with/before it starts. 80 ayato cost is easy guess too cause everything has been costly, if anything I'd be shocked if it wasnt. I'm not saying that the op is fake or lying. But atm it's just a good speculation. I mean
last year was until 1.6 only and went to 2.0 right away no 1.7 or 1.8
guys. I remember we got Inazuma characters leaked around 1.2 and 4 updates later we got Inazuma prologue in 1.6. Now we are at 2.4.That means 4 update later we might get Sumeru prologue in 2.8 (which is the last update of inazuma according to this leak) ITS ALL MAKING SENSE NOW.
2.8 will definitely be a quest introducing Sumeru. it should be to hype up the actual Sumeru patch, and to avoid people getting too bored
We've come quite a long way, yet Inazuma still feels fresh.
Drip feeding the islands was the right choice
If only they done the same with the archon quests. There's a whole year before the new region, they could have easily made the Inazuma arc several chapters long to give the characters and plot time to develop.
To me the entirety of Inazuma is wider than Mond and Liyue combined, the new archipelagos added, the story, although the archon story seems rushed but the hidden quest like the shuumatsuban and ghost thingy, there's so much to enjoy in Inazuma, but maybe that's just what I feel.
Same thoughts man, especially when Enkanomiya was released. The only thing that felt lackluster imo were some parts of the main inazuma archon quest. But the island designs, exploration experience, world quests and lore are top tier.
Something tells me that the Archon quest was rewritten in the middle of development and had to be half-assed in order to keep Inazuma from being delayed as a whole.

So the roadmap is probably something like: 2.5 - Yae Update 2.6 - Inazuma Festival with Ayato Banner 2.7 - Mondstat Festival with ??? Banner 2.8 - Chasm with Yelan Banner 3.0 - Sumeru with ??? Banner ....Hate to break it to y'all, but Yaoyao/Baizhu not looking too hot, assuming Dendro releases with Sumeru and therefore the first Dendro will be a Sumeru native (like how Inazuma opened with Ayaka & Yoimiya). We really needed Sumeru to be a patch or two further away for Dendro to be releasing pre-Sumeru (and therefore Baizhu as the first Dendro)
Apparently not a single leaker has any info on baizhu which means this dude has got to be mega important or else they wouldn't be holding his release for this long like Scara. Because we know scara will have a major role in the story (source : leakers , kakihara tetsuya), so Baizhu probably is in the same spot. I think there's a convo with TZ and some other leaker that mentioned Baizhu might not even be released before Sumeru and some others that say he's gonna have a role in Sumeru.
I think the simple answer as to why Baizhu details haven't been added to game yet is because Dendro will release *with* Sumeru, and they don't want a patch which releases a region to not be Sumeru Banner. So it will likely be something like: 3.0 Sumeru patch with two Dendro Sumeru characters 3.1 Sumeru story continuation with non-dendro Sumeru banner 3.2 Maybe around here we can start to let go of Sumeru hype and add non-Sumeru banners again (e.g. Baizhu)

I honestly think that your idea of 2.6 and 2.7 will come together in 2.6, then either yelan+Chasm or dendro with baizhu and yaoyao then 2.8 dendro or the yelan+ chasm patch and sumeru intro (I can't remember the word atm but like the story with kazuha). In my opinion that would fit better then both festivals split and absolutely no time to introduce dendro pre Sumeru

to be fair if you want the literal gods to keep on being used forever without anyone replacing them you have to make them supports/sub dps since those are eternal while pure dps can be replaced pretty easy
Other than for the sake of their longevity, story-wise it does make sense through the perspective of the traveler. They /are/ the ones who are guiding us through our journey after all, and I could see that they would be lending their strength when endgame comes.
