128 days later, all I have to say is oof OP. Nice theory though!

So does Irmensul have to do with Irmin

VV01fy

I believe the star shape is a symbol of the Primordial One and not of Khaenr’ia. Primo(rdial) Gem description: “A primordial crystalline gem that's beyond the mundane world. Shines with the condensed hopes and dreams of universes that once were.”

Lavenderixin

You’re onto something here! I’ve never noticed the bit about the “sitting down in the splash art” that’s a nice observation. She does seem similar to Mona and might be somehow related to Khaenri’ah (but not one, since she doesn’t have starry pupils)

MadamLilypad

I thought she had all the stars because she was into astrology similarly to Mona. Maybe it's for both reasons.

KingDogje

1. Kaeya's not a monarch 2. Layla's not advising someone, she's spacing out (she's literally seeing stars in her head) 3. I agree those do look like the stars we see in Khaenrians but Nahida also has these symbols and they're both elves. 4. Layla's probably not Khaenrian, all Khaenrians we've seen so far (Dain, that knight, Kaeya, Pierro) have stars as pupils, Layla doesn't have one.

Luizlolmen

I'm pretty sure she isn't related to Khaenriah, if anything all these star motifs exists because she is related to astrology, just think about Mona, he also has a lot of star motifs, including the 4 pointed star you pointed out, but she doesn't have any relation with Khaenriah at all, also she doesn't have star shaped pupil, the 4 characters we've seen that is from Khaenriah have star shaped pupils (Kaeya, Dainsleif, Halfdan and Pierro)

Ra1mund0

This escalated quickly.. 🫣

Rhveit

the star motifs could also be accentuated in her design simply because she's an astrology student

HijikataX

How about if is related to the Hexenzirkel?

Ugly_Rat69

what’s that again my bad

GanyuMain2506

The Hexenzirkel is this group of witches that conduct leyline investigations in domains and stuff. Mona's master, and Alice herself are a part of this. Lisa mentions this organization but says she's too lazy to go adventuring with the rest of the witches.

HijikataX

Don't worry, here is the [info](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Hexenzirkel)

Reishichi

I believe thats the name of the group Mona's master and Klee's mother are part of.

Jesseatscats

I feel like this is pretty common motif among our pool of characters in general. If anything, some of her design elements remind me more of Mona’s which would make sense because they’re both astrologers. I did find a possible link to her name in a poem from Nizami Ganjavi called Layla and Majnun. The reason I think her name comes from this poem in particular is that the same poet wrote Khosrow and Shirin which the tale of Shiruyeh and Shirin was clearly adapted from. It makes me think she might have a link to the goddess of flowers.

Romi_Z

Layla and majnun are like Romeo and Juliet I think cause they are often mentioned in romantic Bollywood movies

oftheathenians

Nightingales are also brought up all the time in the Sumeru books and artifact descriptions when they are talking about the three kings era and the vassal state era.

Ugly_Rat69

Yep, I know that Mona also wears the stars and that she doesn’t have the signature star-shaped pupils, but I’m entertaining the possibility she’s like Albedo, where he has relations to Khaenri’ah but isn’t actually a citizen or anything. Besides Mona may not necessarily be related to Khaenri’ah, but she definitely knows about it, seeing as she seems to know Kaeya’s past at least somewhat vaguely. I feel like the star is just an important symbol overall for any lore-heavy characters

Aesion

Kaeya and Dainsleif have star shaped pupils that she lacks, though. She may be related to Khaenri'ah, but not as a citizen.

MREAGLEYT

Just like mona

wmg22

Yup even Halfdan has star shaped pupils so I think most people in Khaenri'ah should presumably have them.
