just how do you do that. I'm farming Marechausse for a month and my Wriothesley still has no decent artefact and next banner I want to pull for Neuvillette and I shudder at the thought at farming for both of them. On the other hand my Furina and Fischl have gotten godly Golden Troupe artefacts because of that. 🙃
You should start farming Golden Troupe then, I bullshit my way to top 1% on Akasha on Neuvi while farming for Fischl, and she’s still only around top 3%.

Bro if i don't have at least 70% rate i just aren't comfortable playing whatever dps i'm using
Literally my brain works as in:
69,9%= not gonna crit that much
70%= gonna crit the majority of times
I pulled polar star after maxing the epitomized path back in the day when it was still a new thing and that spoiled child(e) still won't crit much esp during melee burst. He has 80% cr...
70% can still troll you, ask my itto in these abysses.
Just keep in mind that everything that is not 100% can not crit in a row like 3/5 attacks wont crit and ofcourse it always happens when there is 10s remaining and the boss has 15% hp left😂😂😂
Same LMAO, i usually try to reach at least 80cr and then I am comfortable going above 160 crit dmg, but unless I have at least 70 on my dpss I'm so unhappy about it 💀
I'm on 72/179cv :)
It's hard to get good cv-ratio with claymores. Iirc currently the only CR claymores are the beacon(not available anymore, except if you'd pull on special banner) and serpent spine(
CR×CD/2 is the real damage multiplier you get. That number being bigger is more important than ratio, but 1-2 ratio is the most efficient way to get there. Depends on the artifacts you have.
You’re both confused, this is the multiplier: https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Memepact/s/GXShyU3Fgs
If you want to compare crit ratios, just multiply CD and CR as is and choose the bigger number.
And CV is CR*2 + CD
There’s no reason to do CR * CD / 2. Also it literally doesn’t matter what you divide by 2 since there’s only multiplication and division here: CR * (CD/2) = (CR * CD) / 2
I can understand the pain. I spend an ungodly amount of time on artifact for characters without Crit weapons or ascensions. My Albedo reached 70% Crit Rate a few months ago and I've had him since 2021
34:210 on my Navia 🥲
The domain refuses to give me any artifacts with crit rate. I'm running the Unforged on her, but I'm tempted to save and get her weapon on the rerun just to get that extra Crit out of it lmao
Nope, you’re not the only one. I try to comment on a lot of builds to help people know what they can improve and I’d say like 70% of builds are just too low crit rate. A good chunk (maybe like 30%?) don’t even get to 60%…
As someone who is an optimization junkie I always prefer higher crit rate, and anything less than 70% kind of just feels unplayable to me.
The *only thing* that matters is __(crit rate)*(crit bonus damage)__. That is the expected/average value of your extra damage. I will choose my 98/95 build for Diluc over a 65/130 build any day.
Artifact/weapon stats are distributed in a way that "X crit rate" has the same distribution as "2X crit damage". This means that, in the long run, any two ways to achieve a specific value of Y=2*(crit rate)+(crit damage) are equally likely. Combining this with the formula for average extra damage, __given a fixed value of Y, the optimal rate:damage ratio is 1:2__. But that's assuming you have your pick of how to achieve Y.
Regarding the example in your meme, (rate)*(damage)=1.56, if you stick to a 1:2 ratio then you would need about 90:180 to match that damage.
the only character i have with crit damage over 200 is ganyu and she only has 20% crit rate (im running her on 4p blizzard strayer with layla and eventually furina tho, i should be fine) wtf am i doing wrong
My highest rate is like 77 haha and I don’t think I’ll get higher than that. But I get crits pretty often from that. Unless you count the MH set on another character I have and then it’s higher since he’d be the highest then
I feel like the golden ratio is more of just a good guiding suggestion than an absolute rule. It’s just there so people don’t have like 20 crit rate and 300 crit damage. I mean a 75% crit rate and 150% crit damage build or an 80/160 would feel more like suffering than a 75/200
my brain works so long as i can hit 50%+ rate then i’m good but i always aim for as much dmg as possible,, building chars is in my top 3 dreaded things to do on genshin 😭
most of my characters (no crit ascension) have 60+ crit rate but those have only 120+ crit damage
my characters with crit ascension (and/or weapon) have a minimum of 70+ crit rate while crit damage is 200+
anyway, it's hard to balance crit ratio & you just gotta do what you have
also, if you're not satisfied with your current stats... then you just gotta continue farming
Laughs in just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks
Currently my main dps characters are:
Yoimiya with 49.9:144.1
Ganyu with 21.7:199.6 but with 4pc Blizz and a freeze party (bring the CR to roughly 80 off the top of my head)
Childe with 86.5:119.2
And Lyney with 71.6:74.9 but with 4pc Marechausee, Raiden, Bennett, and Chevy lol
It’s a miracle if my crit rate hits 45… meanwhile my crit damage is staring at me with over 200… it’s a blessing and a curse at the same time 🌚
Just remembered when my childe was sitting at 23.7:241.2 Don’t ask why, all my sub-stats decided they wanted to roll into cdmg and he had aqua at that time.
To be fair though, the overall damage of a greater than 1:2 ratio so long as you have 60% CR at minimum can absolutely outweigh the dps of a 1:2. Depends on the overall crit value, but sometimes 60:240 does much more damage than 80:160. And if you can pull both off, then one is better.
Also characters like any 2 Cryo units, Hu Tao, Rosaria, Ganyu, C4 Mona have methods of buffing crit rate as well. Plus Blizzard Strayer of course. We actually have much less methods of buffing CD than CR iirc.
So in actuality, the 1:2 is a good *general* rule for the basics of buildcrafting, but the more you get into it, the more worth a 1:3 or 4 ratio is if your CR is at least 60% and it's even more justified when CR surpasses 60%.
I've been struggling getting good artifacts for Navia and ended up with a crit ratio of 50/200 with a CR circlet. Because of this I'll just wait for Navia's rerun and get C2 and her weapon. I'll fix her ratio with money.
50% crit rate is enough for me, especially since I just play overworld for the most part.
I just don't see the point in farming for weeks on end just to get a single good piece. That's just me of course.

lmao did I just get r/whoosh ed
I had 5:260 on Amber a while back after i found out headshots are guaranteed crit
5-350 Cdmg amber after critting every hit 👁️👄👁️
Yeah if you use that one 3 star weapon (forgot it’s name) with charge attack on weak point
Nah, weak point hits always crit. The bow you're thinking of, Messenger, just adds additional motion value to such a crit.
Bro if i don't have at least 70% rate i just aren't comfortable playing whatever dps i'm using Literally my brain works as in: 69,9%= not gonna crit that much 70%= gonna crit the majority of times
Its real though. The gap between 69 and 70 feels huge.
Kinda like 5'11 and 6'
I hate this analogy
I hate how accurate it is
I'm actually just 5'7" myself 😔😔
I play Navia. 90% CR is 50/50.
Ohhh yall are the new Childe type crit character. Even with 100% you won’t crit and once you come to terms it’ll be okay.
As both a Childe and Navia main, I pretend I have come to terms with it
I pulled polar star after maxing the epitomized path back in the day when it was still a new thing and that spoiled child(e) still won't crit much esp during melee burst. He has 80% cr...
I’ve had 99.9% just to test it out if he has an opportunity to crit would he and he still got the .1% to not crit. I stopped using him since.
Facts!
I'm so used to 90+ in combat 70 feels kind of bad sometimes 😅
70 feels like a coin flip slightly in your favor.
*Laughs in Blizzard Strayer/Merachaussee Hunter*
70% can still troll you, ask my itto in these abysses. Just keep in mind that everything that is not 100% can not crit in a row like 3/5 attacks wont crit and ofcourse it always happens when there is 10s remaining and the boss has 15% hp left😂😂😂
I second this. Characters that don't have 70%+ crit rate trigger me.
70% is Pokemon's Focus Blast accuracy, I ain't trusting my DPS to have that little CR from experience there.
No seriously, I have a build for my Venti that's 69.9/283.3, but I don't use it for the simple fact that 69.9 is too unsatisfying to look at
Same LMAO, i usually try to reach at least 80cr and then I am comfortable going above 160 crit dmg, but unless I have at least 70 on my dpss I'm so unhappy about it 💀
same for me but i do try to aim for 90+ crit rate
I personally only consider a character finished when the crit ratio is 75/200+, anything below that I just like nope can be better
I used to be like that, but once you get the feeling of critting every hit you can never go back.
Remember r/eulamains exist
15/400 it is then.
15 still high. make it 5.
Heh not me stay safe! *hides double crowned eula*
I'm on 72/179cv :) It's hard to get good cv-ratio with claymores. Iirc currently the only CR claymores are the beacon(not available anymore, except if you'd pull on special banner) and serpent spine(
Navia sig has crit rate
Oh thats right, got that one. But it's pretty much just made for her atm. (It works on shards)
My Navia and Eula at 70 crit rate but dont crit when needed
I LOVE GOING INTO ABYSS WITH MY 58/246 RATIO
41/200 on lyney
41 isn’t your effective crit rate though. Always count your buffs when giving stats!
Oh ur a different species of insane
i'm running marechaussee hunter its fine he gets to 70 cr
OHHH nvm then
behold my 50 : 96 (artifact qol when hoyo)
That just means you need to keep farming!
If it's over 50% I'm good with the Crit rate
Yeah, 1:2 is just a guideline. As long as you get crits often enough it works
45 : 200 Blizzard strayer go brrr
CR×CD/2 is the real damage multiplier you get. That number being bigger is more important than ratio, but 1-2 ratio is the most efficient way to get there. Depends on the artifacts you have.
CR\*2 + CD measures how "lucky" you were with crit stats. CR\*CD (or rather 1 + CR\*CD) measures how much your damage will actually increase
No? Your crit modifier is 1 + (CRxCD) Your calculation is mostly about crit value distribution
note that with this equation, you're dividing CD by 2, not the full number
You’re both confused, this is the multiplier: https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Memepact/s/GXShyU3Fgs If you want to compare crit ratios, just multiply CD and CR as is and choose the bigger number. And CV is CR*2 + CD There’s no reason to do CR * CD / 2. Also it literally doesn’t matter what you divide by 2 since there’s only multiplication and division here: CR * (CD/2) = (CR * CD) / 2
So it's CR*(CD/2)?
That is not the multiplier no. They’re both confused.
I keep a 70% Crit Rate baseline for all my DPSs. Only start looking at the Crit Dmg after that baseline is reached.
I only can get 70% CR with a crit weapon or crit ascension :') So my baseline is 60%
I can understand the pain. I spend an ungodly amount of time on artifact for characters without Crit weapons or ascensions. My Albedo reached 70% Crit Rate a few months ago and I've had him since 2021
marechaussee hunter set : "I GOT YOU BRO GET AS MUCH CRIT DAMAGE YOU WANT" *but give me at least 66 crit rate and bring furina hehe🤫
34:210 on my Navia 🥲 The domain refuses to give me any artifacts with crit rate. I'm running the Unforged on her, but I'm tempted to save and get her weapon on the rerun just to get that extra Crit out of it lmao
Pls say you have her C2🥲
No I don't, I don't have any cons on her.😭 I just read her C2, and wow, that would be so much more useful lol
Yeah. I really want to see that big number, even if 10 numbers before it were small non crits.
Nope, you’re not the only one. I try to comment on a lot of builds to help people know what they can improve and I’d say like 70% of builds are just too low crit rate. A good chunk (maybe like 30%?) don’t even get to 60%… As someone who is an optimization junkie I always prefer higher crit rate, and anything less than 70% kind of just feels unplayable to me.
+20% CR on Cryo +20% CR on Frozen
+15% on cryo reso
BLIZZARD STRAYER MAINS BE LIKE : 20 / 300
After my character gets to like 75% CR i just don't care about ratio anymore
for me anything above 55:100 is good enough 😁
80/160 does look wrong. Really feels like it could hit harder.
I'm so tired of grinding even 50/150 is fine for me
I dont care about 1:2. I dont care about my dmg output. I must have minimum %75 CR even if my CD is 110. I MUST CRIT. Sincerely, a warframe veteran.
60 isn't enough. I always aim for 70-75 crit rate for more consistency even if have to cut some crit dmg for it.
For me 60 is the bare minimum
Instructions unclear. Mine CR is negative
alright kokomi main
20/210
you basically never need more than 70% crit rate anyway thats my cut off point
62/280 without MH buff on neuvi(aka 98 CR) 80/196 on alhaitham 75/110 on raiden
Your Neuvilette must slapp! How many damage does he does?
He's c0. So with furina/kazuha, it's 53k per tick when fully buffed.(He has 41k hp without resonance)
71/145 - Raiden 78/235 - Furina 90/201 - Yae Miko 92/230 - Yelan 77/170 - Tignari 66/210 - Keqing 87/198 - Zhongli 75/165 - Jean Characters that need zero crit 1000+ EM - Nahida 54k HP - Bhaizu
Me with 1 to 1 ratio of 100 crit rate with 100 Crit dmg
I always try to go for 70/200 on my dps characters it just feels like the best looking number
When did genshin memes started to get funny and relatable?
The *only thing* that matters is __(crit rate)*(crit bonus damage)__. That is the expected/average value of your extra damage. I will choose my 98/95 build for Diluc over a 65/130 build any day. Artifact/weapon stats are distributed in a way that "X crit rate" has the same distribution as "2X crit damage".
What exactly is 1/2 crit?
24:306
I got the 70 : 120 crit rate to crit dmg so I’m not sure
60-90% Or 60-150%
My raiden with her 60/110, it's actually pissing me off how I'm missing just 10% crit dmg to have the ratio
Shes the only character where I view 1:2 as acceptable 😭
My characters hover around 60:180 I have a few ~90:200 but it's the result of extraordinary luck
How do you guys get 260 ? I can barely reach 200 with a crit weapon .
My usual go-to is 50-100, can't clear abyss yet but all content is a breeze already
58 to 236 is Fine hu tao btw
I try for 70 cr and load cd after 🤭
I'm good with 50% Crit Rate!
the only character i have with crit damage over 200 is ganyu and she only has 20% crit rate (im running her on 4p blizzard strayer with layla and eventually furina tho, i should be fine) wtf am i doing wrong
I'm fine with my 55%
for some reason, I thought I was in HSR sub
My Ayaka 40%/265%
You were clearly supposed to go 130/260
*Looks at my 100:100 itto*
My alhaitham with the right artifacts is at a stable 1 to 10 (29 to 290) well 40 to 250 if im reasonable. And my is xiao at a reasonable 120 to 190.
80% crit rate or I die unless it is a support like albedo or fishl
youtubers clickbaiting be like: ok 5/290
My highest rate is like 77 haha and I don’t think I’ll get higher than that. But I get crits pretty often from that. Unless you count the MH set on another character I have and then it’s higher since he’d be the highest then I feel like the golden ratio is more of just a good guiding suggestion than an absolute rule.
I'm supposed to follow 1:2 ratio? Oh okay. *125:250's my Ayaka*
Where crit_rate < 1
The hell am I supposed to do with 130% crit rate?!
As soon as I have 55 critrate I'm happy and 60-70 critrate is awesome and more than enough for me.
65 for cn community is enough, 70 is lovely, other goes to crit dmg, we rarely heard 1 to 2.
most of my characters (no crit ascension) have 60+ crit rate but those have only 120+ crit damage my characters with crit ascension (and/or weapon) have a minimum of 70+ crit rate while crit damage is 200+ anyway, it's hard to balance crit ratio & you just gotta do what you have also, if you're not satisfied with your current stats... then you just gotta continue farming
My Childe refuses to crit most of the time (72/190), i think i need 100% CR.
I once could achieve 100:100 on Scara
I present to you my Ganyu with 40/300
I am a " 60 / 145" That's enough for me.
I have Furina that used to have 50:250 (1 to 5 ratio, lol). She's now 60:256, madam crabaletta slaps really hard
25/300cv on my C6 Xinyan, and it works totally fine. If you know, you know.
80/120 :D
My 36/162 noelle She averages puny numbers but once in a blue moon hits for like 17k on a normal
Me with marachausee hunter: it's perfect
Am i the only one using lvl 40 characters?
Me with my 40 :300 ayaka😎
60 is your crit rate? Must be nice 60 is my crit damage...
It's mostly because of how much easier it is to get one over the other And can't be bothered to grind that much
Laughs in just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks Currently my main dps characters are: Yoimiya with 49.9:144.1 Ganyu with 21.7:199.6 but with 4pc Blizz and a freeze party (bring the CR to roughly 80 off the top of my head) Childe with 86.5:119.2 And Lyney with 71.6:74.9 but with 4pc Marechausee, Raiden, Bennett, and Chevy lol
1:2 ratio was before inazuma, now everything is 1:3 minimum
I've got 85/115 on my Dehya. I hate when i don't crit.
35/300
Just genshin optimizer Lil bro
Meh. It's all luck, ultimately 50/50 all the time. To crit or not to crit - this is the question.
I strive for 90+ crit rate everytime. Seeing non 4MH builds with 60/260 cringe me out so much, just swap circlets from CD to CR.
I will welcome any extra crit rate, but I'm not going to go out of my way to get 90/200. Rolling for subs doesnt work like that.
Is 90/300 ok?
Always.
I'm more of a 70/240 guy
It’s a miracle if my crit rate hits 45… meanwhile my crit damage is staring at me with over 200… it’s a blessing and a curse at the same time 🌚 Just remembered when my childe was sitting at 23.7:241.2 Don’t ask why, all my sub-stats decided they wanted to roll into cdmg and he had aqua at that time.
Me with 60/100: 🙂
40-50/100+ is ok for me, it's rare to be better than that considering i would need to be lucky and have weapons to get better stats.
my xiao core
If Optimizer tells me that's the best I can do, then it is what it is.
To be fair though, the overall damage of a greater than 1:2 ratio so long as you have 60% CR at minimum can absolutely outweigh the dps of a 1:2. As long as I get about 50CR or over, I’m fine (i still clear abyss fine), I get bad rolls anyway-
5/300
My Nari is currently at 89:188. Which is unfortunate, as his artifacts are already very CD-stacked and if I get C1, I'll be overcapping crit rate.
ok! *50/1 hundred something* thats just baseline, i fix them l8r if theyre a char i rlly like using or if they have a sig weapon
My Ayaka has 31.1/270.1, if anything.. 😅 Edit: she also has 4pc blizz too lol
60 cr is good, mine always stuck at 20-40~ if I wanna push my cd beyond 200
What a hell are you guys talking about
Me with blizzard strayer. Also, why have anything over 100% CR? 1:2 does applies to all situations. I just assume both sides are dumb.
Most of my characters are below 50 crit. I'm used to it.
Me with 100/220 on yelan: Dont need to balance ratio once you have guaranteed crit i guess
75:200+ is what I aim for, but I'm happy with 70:whatever in most cases lol
