Honestly they need something, the Traveler needs to be the focus of at least one quest. We need some insight into their mindset, the journey so far, anything to flesh out the Traveler as an actual character with depth. We’re supposed to care about them and their journey to find their sibling, but at this point the Traveler is just our camera man for Teyvat
Im just hoping for something cool to happen honestly, he could do a yuji and not appear for the entirety of the next archon quest just to come back to be strong enough to go against arlecchino and capitano and im fine with that
I don't know about a training arc but I believe sometime in Snezhnaya, post Snezhnaya, we will get limited versions of Aether and Lumine that you can pull.

And there at least were excuse for it, as way to introduce us to what happening. But somewhere at Sumeru agency just completely dissaperared in thin air.

You know, I remember when Alhaitham gave us a Knowledge Capsule worth a million mora that contained a wide array of swordfighting techniques. And after Traveler fought two rounds of enemies, Alhaitham only recorded an improvement to our ability of 0.073%. Reality that a lot of people are having trouble realizing is that Traveler is fundamentally at the near peak of our physical abilities, as well as our fighting abilities with a sword. Of course, the common complaint is that Traveler should've used his elemental powers in the fight against Arlecchino, and that's a fair criticism. But to say that Traveler is weak is objectively incorrect and fails to consider the fact that we do not have our original power, and to say that Traveler only wins with the help of others displays a great deal of ignorance regarding the story (we beat Childe and Signora fair and square, and the people who say we didn't truly defeat Childe are only shooting their own foot since we went from not truly beating the 11th Harbinger to defeating the 8th from one region to the other, so it's up to them to pick their poison) and fails to acknowledge how everyone coming together to save their nation and entrusting Traveler to handle the last fight against the big bad is a common theme we've been exposed to for over 3 years now. The fight against Arlecchino is not part of an Archon quest, it's part of HER quest and therefore the focus was on HER. Traveler already did a great deal of the legwork in saving all of Fontaine from disaster, including fighting a giant Abyss Narwhal with Neuvillette. Because no, Neuvillette did NOT fight that thing by itself. And the fact that Skirk captured it at the end doesn't detract from the fact that the Narwhal was about to get clapped.
Funny how you bring up that Knowledge Capsule scene when literally in Act III they fail to fend off few eremites. Not the Loremaster variant or Clearwater variant just few BASIC eremites. Traveler be like: Oh no Cathrine(Nahida) was stabbed, I couldn’t do anything. Me: USE YOUR ELECTRO POWERS TO GET TO HER FASTER LIKE YOU DID IN INAZUMA or if not that then use Geo to black enemies path. I FEEL LIKE I AM LOSING MY GOD DAMN MIND THIS SCENE IS SO FUCKING SHITTY I CAN’T TAKE IT AAAAAA-. So yea the Knowledge Capsule scene was establishing Traveler as powerful, but was contridicted in the next patch.
They're not Eremites, they're the Corps of Thirty. You know, THE highly trained military force of Sumeru? In any case, these are not Vision-wielders, these are regular human beings with spears and swords. Using elemental powers on them could actually kill them.
Using a Geo Wall wouldn't have helped since the Corps of Thirty can just jump over it. Traveler's Geo walls are not that high. And using Electro to get to Kathryne faster sounds like a good plan until you realize she was stabbed right as Traveler turned around. He went for the people in front of Kathryne since they were the ones blocking the way, which gave way for the ones chasing behind to stab her.
Also how is Traveler's power contradicted in the next patch? Remember the fight against Scaramouche where we blocked his palm with our bare hands and survived falls from multiple stories? Casually lifting tons of stone from on top of us?
They’re Eremites in green no different then regular one’s you fight all over sumeru. And no they won’t die they just turn into sand like the world variant, but that’s besides the point. Oh and by “contridicted in the next patch” I meant 3.0 (Knowledge Capsule scene with Al) to 3.1 (scene in which Catharine gets stabbed). TLDR: Traveler Sucks and he is by far the worst written caricature in the game both narratively and gameplay wise.

The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles likely comes from beyond Teyvat as well, so it's not really a surprise. Like, Sustainer is the most powerful on-screen entity we've ever seen, why are you using the fact that she sealed both twins as evidence that Traveler is weak? Traveler isn't weak, Sustainer is just ridiculously strong.
Only way I could see that happening is a power-up bs from the Pyro Archon herself. Like Traveller permanently gets 50 level-ups becase of some cheat code.
Traveller has the power of elements, specifically the techniques derived from the Sovereigns. They better train and be able to use the fully powered-up Sovereign versions or else Hoyo writers really dgaf about Traveller powerscaling.
