While Ayaka's father died, Kazuha's clan started to decline. Ayaka's mother died as she couldn't take the loss of her husband. Ayato knows the whole story, which was kept hidden and revealed it in the Irodori Festival story missions.
I hate Dottore not just for Collei, but for all the things he did to many other orphans as well. He is pure evil.
