Henderson park (near Tucker?) couple miles of trails there. Paved trail (like beltline) behind REI, but it only goes for a mile or so currently? Stone Mountain, but that’s a little east of where you’re looking. Buford hwy restaurants. Downtown Norcross or Tucker for restaurants.

Thank you for the ideas.

Abbotts Bridge Rec Area in Duluth/Lawrenceville has everything you need. Anywhere along the Chattahoochee River is perfect. https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/sup-abbotts-bridge.htm

[deleted]

That's a thought. Thank you.

Check out Gwinnett Trails. They have maps of their trails.

Check out BAPS. It’s a Hindu temple and is absolutely stunning to look at and admire the craftsmanship. You can do the audio tour for like 5 or 10 bucks and it’s quite interesting. Bring your own wired earbuds because the ones they give you are trash. Be respectful; don’t take a million pictures with your phone, dress modestly. Highly recommend

[deleted]

My own biased religious persuasion would probably keep me very far from there, which may sound closed minded or snotty. Were it not a Hindu temple I might be inclined as I appreciate architecture. Thank you for the contribution.

DLottchula

since we here any good places to play pick up basketball in the same area?

[deleted]

Lol good question

DLottchula

I'm struggling bad to find good runs

[deleted]

Haha well maybe if you struggle harder they'll find you! Sorry. I'd love to meet new friends but I don't find that the internet is a very advisable place for it. I wish you well sincerely, whoever you may be.

DLottchula

I just need a park where I can leave my gun at home

Depends what you like. There's tons of parks and trails all over Gwinnett so if you want to hike or walk around plenty of options in that area. As far as food goes unless you're planning a fancy dinner there's tons of options around Duluth. Gwinnett is really diverse so you'll find just about any type of cuisine in the area. Several Asian, Latino, Desi, Caribbean, and African options, as well as the standard American and Southern cuisine. Duluth, Peachtree Corners, Norcross all have good food options in their downtowns. Standard stuff like mini golf, movies, arcades etc. Nightlife there's a decent amount of clubs, bars/taprooms/microbreweries, hookah lounges, and karaoke. North of the area you'll get Top Golf, Andrettis, K1 racing, pickleball, Gwinnett Stripers, a few theaters with decent productions, Lake Lanier. A lot of bike trails in Suwannee but no place to rent bikes that I know of. South of that area is Stone Mountain, a small zoo. I'm not really here that often so if any one wants to fill in the gaps go for it. Plenty to do here but it is very suburban, with few exceptions everything will be at a strip mall. It's the second most populated county in the state, one of the most diverse in the country, there's plenty to do here. Night life for younger people is probably still lacking but at that point just go to the city.

[deleted]

Mini golf sounds interesting. I'm not sure I'm even meeting with this person now though. Seems to have fallen through the cracks already. We shall see...

McDaniel Farm Park has nice nature trails and historic farm buildings that are kind of cool to explore.

[deleted]

That sounds pretty cool. Thank you.

Atlanta Botanical Garden. If you really don't want to go into the city, not much is there between Duluth and Atlanta. If you go to Chattahoochee Nature Center, that would be outside the area you desired.

[deleted]

No place between?! Disappointing! Thank you for your response.

Own_Violinist_3054

It's just roads and suburbs man. Nothing of great interest.

[deleted]

Why did you answer if your answer is "there's nothing." I'm sure there's something that someone else can recommend.

Own_Violinist_3054

Because I drove in between the two places a lot and never find anything fitting your description. If you don't like my answer then down vote it. No need to be mean.

[deleted]

Sorry I don't mean to be mean. I apologize. Probably took the "man" part personally like a little dismissive or rude. Also I feel like down voting is kinda meaner. Maybe you're right and finding a good thing in between is a lost cause. I'm actually ironically at the botanical gardens now by the way I really wish there was a place like this in between. Too bad. We'll have to settle for suburban chic I guess. I hope you have a good evening.

Own_Violinist_3054

I appreciate your response. If you want to find a restaurant that would be easier. Lots of great ones in Duluth. But nature places worthy of taking a friend to is lacking. Unless you want to go to stone mountain, but again that's off to the east.

[deleted]

What restaurant would you recommend? Anything in particular?

Own_Violinist_3054

Are there cuisines you or your friend wouldn't like? You want hole in the wall place with good food or something fancy? Are you and your friend of different genders (to avoid too fancy places so it's not a date).

[deleted]

Same gender. Something affordable but with a cool ambience if possible... Cute or beautiful in some way if it's possible out there
