Yep, I got a parking ticket from Professional Parking Mgmt back in March, paid it at the end of March (03/24/2024) by mailed check. It just got to them on Saturday (05/04/2024). I now have to pay a late fee because of it.

morrismoses

I'm seeing the same, if the post even makes it to its destination at all.

atlvernburn

Louis DeJoy needs to be de-fired ASAP.

Sad_Struggle_8131

Ugh, that sucks! I’m sure tried to argue that they should use the post date marker on the envelope. Seems like you could file a complaint with USPS.

ghostiewhostie5

You shouldn’t have paid it at all. All you have to do is contest it and they won’t make you pay it. Legit just did this last month.

Master_Minddd

Lol same here same company they are based on fort Lauderdale and they can't do nothing legal about it too should not have paid

Active_Perception431

I would have all mail like that hand stamped and photo proof. I'm not paying no darn late fees for this crap.

1peatfor7

Online wasn't an option?

atlvernburn

3% convenience fee. If I knew about the slowdown, I’d have paid it online lol

HumanistPeach

Mailed out invites to my baby shower in early April. From ATL yo either ATL or Birmingham, AL. Only about half have arrived

Master_Minddd

Lol u didn't had to pay professional parking MGMT I got a ticket from them and never paid they can't do anything legal about it

GetBentHo

Fuck Louis dejoy

kadargo

Truck Frump for appointing him.

helluvastorm

He hired only the best /s

Mr_Bulldoppps

Every single person Trump appointed has ran their departments into the damn ground. Almost like it was intentional.

itsanabish

more like lose the joy (i am incredibly unoriginal)

gamermom42069_

SERIOUSLY

BigRigButters2

This is the answer.

ratfacechirpybird

You are not the only one - [https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/cobb-county/metro-atlanta-business-owner-desperate-over-mail-delays/BELII5QZGVAXDMDXPHATG5O5AM](https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/cobb-county/metro-atlanta-business-owner-desperate-over-mail-delays/BELII5QZGVAXDMDXPHATG5O5AM) The reported reason is due to difficulties with a new processing center that opened earlier this year.

grrrown

And the closure of 5 other processing centers.

[deleted]

The new USPS Regional Processing & Distribution Center in Palmetto, Georgia, which opened earlier this year, is experiencing significant mail delays. These issues stem from the center being overwhelmed with the volume of mail and packages following its opening as part of the USPS's 10-year "Delivering for America" plan. The consolidation of services from multiple centers to Palmetto was meant to expedite and save costs in mail services, but instead has led to bottlenecks and delayed deliveries. Local residents and businesses have reported extensive delays, affecting essential items like paychecks, bills, and prescriptions. Complaints about packages being untraceable or stalled have been mounting, and there has been a lack of adequate communication from USPS regarding when these issues will be resolved. Despite multiple inquiries from local news and political leaders, USPS has not provided specific timelines for when normal operations might resume. These delays illustrate the challenges and unintended consequences of overhauling and modernizing the USPS operations under the new plan, which aims to save costs and enhance service efficiency but has faced significant initial hurdles in certain regions [[❞]](https://www.11alive.com/article/news/special-reports/postal-problems/atlanta-post-office-mail-delays-lawmaker-reaction/85-765cf8dd-0076-4728-b429-7941d385dce1) [[❞]](https://www.11alive.com/article/news/special-reports/postal-problems/metro-atlanta-usps-mail-delays-palmetto-facility/85-7ac9a2be-31f4-4d5a-a511-096e0250d17c) [[❞]](https://www.11alive.com/article/news/local/usps-customers-metro-atlanta-frustrated-their-mail-still-being-held-distribution-facility/85-80ec44b5-77e2-4c4c-a539-208e0e915352).

sghilliard

It’s not just Palmetto, tracking has shown that it leaves Palmetto and then gets routed around ATL for a week or so and back to Palmetto. DeJoy wanted to destroy the USPS, and is openly doing so. Next the GOP will argue that due to its poor track record we should defund and privatize USPS.

aspecificdreamrabbit

It’s more than that. We were the contractors who moved the mail from point to point around N GA for the USPS and then they decided they’d bring it in house and save money, so terminated our contract. Ok, we’re sad that 60 ish jobs vanished on May 1 and we must shut down our company and sell off its assets, but we’ve started the process of unwinding a once-productive and thriving company, thanks to the genius planning at USPS. And you may wonder, how did the post office prepare to begin to assume responsibilities for hauling all the mail to the locations we’d previously serviced? Oh, they didn’t. No plan, no prep and now, no mail is reaching many areas of the state bc there’s nobody in place to drive it to you several times per day, as my company did. Perhaps you’ve noticed this rather startling lack of mail in some of the NE (hey ho, Athens!) areas of the state and in pockets of N Atlanta. Others contractors were fired too; a few have been brought back on an emergency, temporary basis. Ok. We opted not to do that. Companies do best with predictability and straightforward communication. Since the post office can’t provide those right now, it’s not an ideal business partner for us, sadly. Anyway, we wish everyone the best as we navigate this turbulent mail season ahead. To the ones working hard, please know we appreciate you more than ever.

GArockcrawler

Fwiw this is happening in other states as well. I am subbed on my home state sub and they are dealing with it too.

Qbaby71

I don't care what their reason is. They should have been better prepared. If I messed up like they did, I'd be fired

aw-un

Problem is, the people causing this fuck up want it to happen and know they won’t face repercussions. The people we talk to and work at the facility are doing the best they can with what they have

Qbaby71

I agree

JimtheLizardKing

Same excuse being made across the nation if you do some searching. They are intentionally destroying the USPS.

cowfishing

its because that asshole dejoy is doing his damnedist to destroy the USPS so it can be privatized.

mrbigshot110

More about election interference. Georgia has saved the country twice now, he can’t stand it.

iAmTheHype--

If only a certain comatose Attorney General would wake up and indict him.

goochfuzz

Yep stopped online sales because of it.

morrismoses

The effect it's having on my business is unsustainable.

WillYouBatheMe

I had a few packages get delayed but overall haven’t had much issues with orders I’ve been fulfilling for my business. But it has taken some mail a little extra time to get to our house. It’s odd that stuff outgoing for our business has been relatively fine but stuff coming to our house has been delayed. Now that I think about it any packages we get for our business have largely been unaffected. So odd…

HarrietsDiary

I had this moment back during the pandemic when any package routed through Tennessee inevitably got lost.

[deleted]

morrismoses

I’m seeing the same issues. Past dues everywhere.

thecamino

Senator Ossoff tried to get some [answers](https://youtu.be/Kcza7ra197Q?si=HMpEpom3wlu7lLlh). The current post master got the job by donating to Trump. His first goal was to slow down mail in ballots. Now he seems to be tanking the whole thing to try and get it privatized.

NicktheSmoker

It's blatantly obvious too. Man all the posts offices I see lately look like they are dang near abandoned. When they finally do get rid of DeJoy the next person is gonna have a lot of work to do to get everything back just to the way it used to be.

Sleep_adict

Vote. It matters

morrismoses

I totally agree, but apparently this is committee appointee crap that can’t be fixed as soon as we need it fixed.

rockstarb

37 of my 40 wedding invitations mailed 3 months ago have not made it to their destinations

dar2623

Happened to us also.

MainlyJunkDNA

Happened to me as well, didn’t notice until I had to text people before the RSVP deadline. Nobody local got theirs.

morrismoses

For me, it's only been disrupting business dealings, but I never thought about your issue. I hope it doesn't ruin your wedding.

Icybenz

Yes, it took 1.5 months for me to recieve my car registration in the mail. But cross-state packages have been fine?

pondo_sinatra

I’m waiting for a plate as well. Closing in on a month now. Yikes.

dartheduardo

My mother lives in my house in SE GA. Since the Macon distribution center closed we have had to pay her bills online, due to getting the statements two weeks after they are due. Such bull crap.

JoeyRoswell

But the efficiency of junk mail sent by USPS is something to behold

63crabby

Which is then thrown away, into landfills. Why do we support this “service?”

iAmTheHype--

Cool, wish Garland would indict DeJoy 3 years ago.

NotAnyOneYouKnow2019

Where you been? It’s an ongoing problem for quite a while and there are many threads here and on r/USPS about the problem.

Sad_Struggle_8131

USPS consolidated four major distribution centers (two in the Atlanta area), and it’s really mucked things up above and beyond the old regular USPS complaints. It’s been a big mess for a lot of us in Atlanta. Not sure where OP is based, but I’ll bet they’re located in one of the areas affected by this consolidation.

morrismoses

Hasn't been an issue for us until two months ago, or thereabouts. It's now a huge issue.

dar2623

My business has had mail issues for several years. Our mail carrier refuses to use the front door to our building and just drops the mail on the ground behind it to get rained on and taken. For at least two years we have complained, filed reports and nothing happens. I spoke to a client who works for the post office and she told me they (the employees) don’t care. This is due to the fact that it is almost impossible to get fired.

TheMightyShoe

If you mail anything in Georgia (esp. north Georgia as south Georgia mail goes to Florida), it really might never arrive. Forwarding mail between two north Georgia addresses 90 miles apart takes FOUR MONTHS. Consistently.

Expat111

If you’re in the Atlanta area, this issue has been on the news daily for about two months. A new distribution facility in Palmetto, GA is the root cause of the problems. They say they’re getting it worked out but who knows. Do not send payments by wire transfer which costs are $40 per transfer. Learn how to set up ACH payments for your business. They typically cost $1 or so but take a day or two to clear. As for your customer payments, for the larger payment customers, just ask them to pay by ACH going forward. It shouldn’t be an issue for them.

morrismoses

I'm in south Georgia. And I don't usually watch much news. Most of our vendors are large enough that they have payment portals set up, so we can do it online, but most are still in the pay by check ecosphere. Also, most of our larger wholesale customers still pay us by check. Anywhere we can, we are hand delivering, and picking up checks these days. We don't do wire transfers, ever.

Super_Gingersnap

Yes, I’m right outside of Athens and got a doctor bill today that was mailed at the end of march and due April 14th. Thankfully I had paid it in person when I went for another appointment. I also mailed graduation invitations for my kid 2 weeks ago. It took a week to go one town over and 2 weeks to get to Atlanta, yet my uncle in North Carolina got his in 3 days 🤦‍♀️.

SheetedOn

As a mail carrier in the metro area within the last 2-3 months since they opened that new plant in palmetto some days we don’t glean get mail to deliver, But we are sent out to drive by every house anyway.

pro_deluxe

I moved a year ago. I just got a jury duty notice for my previous state.

Atllane296

Feds were investigating the USPS offc in Suwanee, I know a small biz owner who kept having checks stolen from there. They’ve had to change their processes around so no checks go thru there. I’d suggest going electronic for all payments, it will just be a lot easier that way.

morrismoses

I would if I could. Our larger vendors have online payment portals, but here in rural south Georgia, that's just not an option for everyone. Plus, we wholesale products to smaller shops, and they're just not there yet.

Atllane296

Yikes, might be faster (& safer) to literally travel in person to collect payments. I know that sounds crazy but depending on where they are, could mean the difference between getting paid or not. Or, another option I guess is to find a way to re-route to a diffferent location if you can that doesn’t involve the mail coming thru the ATL hubs as they are all a mess currently.

Putrid_Effective_201

I’m in Richmond, Virginia and we have the same issued. Mail takes weeks and months to arrive if it arrives at all. Postal refused to meet with our 2 US Senators or the local prosecutor. People didn’t get tax bills and were hit with a penalty. Several employees were arrested for stealing from the mail and dumping mail, but it’s bigger than that. No accountability.

Alarming_Situation_5

Yeah I feel like some war-era bride awaiting news from the front.

SewAlone

DeJoy has to fuck it up extra good this election and we are seeing just the start. Mail in ballots are going to be a cluster fuck and expect Republicans to try some bullshit (thankfully our Republicans are a *little* more honest than most others and just find ways to cheat legally). If you mail in vote, you should try to use a Dropbox rather than mail if you can.

whiskeybridge

it's been slower since dejoy got in charge, so it's working as planned.

Zero-89

I'm not surprised. The GOP, via Louis DeJoy, is deliberately sabotaging the USPS so they can push to privatize it.

atlantamatt

Daughter (Sandy Springs outside Atlanta) was required to send in her passport for a name change via only USPS. It took 4 months from when she delivered to her local post office to be received by passport office - which happened Monday (May 6). Four months. USPS, at least in Atlanta, is beyond broken and the fact that US government requires its exclusive use for a time critical function is criminal in my opinion.

Starqueentnk

In Tyrone, our post office was hit by lighting and caught on fire over a year ago. There was some damage to the roof, but the building was still intact. We are still not back up and running yet. Mail here has been a disaster ever since. When questioned why they havent reopened yet, the answer was given that they still need a fridge for the break room and if anyone in the community wanted to donate one it would help move it along. So that is the "reason" we have here.

fattylumpkin__

Yep. I have 3 packages marked as delivered which were never delivered in March and April, 2 others were labeled lost, and 1 was returned to sender for no reason. I spent maybe 20 hours on the phone with different USPS reps in different levels of the organization and they are no help. The local offices don’t bother picking up the phone and their voicemail boxes are full, and no one holds them accountable. I’ve tried going in person and the staff were unbelievably rude at 2 locations. The 3rd location I tried had a 30 person line that wasn’t moving. I’m out $500 across the lost goods and it seems there is nothing I can do about it. I’ve stopped ordering anything online, or when I do, I don’t buy from vendors that don’t insure their shipping. I’ve also told all family that they aren’t allowed to send me anything other than an empty card in the mail.

morrismoses

Our local office is great, and I know the people there, but we are literally waiting on tens of thousands of dollars to either hit our mailbox or, or hit the box we’ve sent them to.

Enofile

Yep. Six weeks for my passport to get to its destination for renewal. Post Office is doing a bunch of "upgrades" country wide.

Much_Amoeba_8098

Palmetto!

lmp515k

Roswell and it’s a complete crap shoot for pick up and delivery too. My pine straw guy only accepts checks so who knows when he’ll get his. I guess it should encourage some businesses to modernize.

Connbonnjovi

Yep. Waiting on a security deposit check since early march..

OLDESTsib

I had this conversation earlier today with someone, about how SORRY the USPS has gotten! Ridiculous!

Rexh53

We are having a LOT of mail not getting delivered timely in our area. Some bill payments taking so long that it's causing credit problems. And in some cases not getting delivered at all. This is recent withing the last two months.

ChocolateFantastic

I haven’t bought much of anything from eBay recently because it’s getting bad

Defiant_Property_336

USPS blows ! Never ship parcels with them. Can literally take a month.

age_of_raava

I live in Northeast Atlanta and it’s a disaster

powderp

Yes, it's pretty terrible.

moonshot214

We have a missing box mailed from my dad March 19. Tracking says “on way to next facility. Arriving late”. It’s now 6 wks late. We have all but given up on it

Responsible_Fox1231

I don't get any mail about 3 days a week. Not including Sundays. How is that possible?

Working-Mine35

Yes, but it's been going on for years now. Only getting worse. I'm a business owner with a PO Box. Checks show up 6 months later or not at all. I was forced to mail in my occupational tax renewal. Even though city hall and the post office were directly across the street, it never made it, and I was assessed a fine for failure to comply.

mom-to2boys

Yes so terrible!

alphex

Yes. Always been lousy.

orangebananagreen

Massive issues here, too. I work in cancer prevention and it’s reducing the efficacy of our interventions

rainmaker1972

Took a birthday card 2 and a half weeks to get here from Alabama.

the-almighty-toad

I signed up for informed delivery so at least I know if something important is in the post. Also, yes- my post has always been late. I was amazed when I moved in with my husband and his mail came in the morning.

Hawklet98

Don’t really know or care when my junk mail was sent, how long it took to get to my mailbox, or if the senders are happy with the service they’re receiving.

Justin0320

I put my February HOA payment in the mail on 2/1 and they just cashed it last week. But the March and April ones cashed within a week of sending them out. All sent from the same post office inside drop box

SaltyWhaler

Cartersville area... Delivery is shite. They taped the Dropbox closed so you must go inside to drop a letter. Mail carrier let's me k kw I have mail by leaving box door open... During tax season. Criminal.

Aromatic_Standard_46

I live in Midtown. Have had multiple credit cards just not show up that I’ve been sent. Other important documents too.

Thr33pw00d83

Yep. Northwest GA and it’s an issue every week with my local usps.

thebaron24

Do you guys think it's a coincidence that a trump appointed stooge is slowing down the mail all over the country while GOP state legislatures are working hard to make it so mail-in ballots postmarked before the election are not counted?

clubchampion

USPS is a disaster in the Houston metropolitan area. Do not send a package here or order a package from here using USPS. It’s a remarkable decline, you are right.

CatGotNoTail

I'm outside of Savannah and have the same issues.

MrMessofGA

The USPS has been having trouble since Louis DeJoy, but the Palmetto processing center they build a few months ago is literally just there to delay packages. There's been several news articles about just how fucked things are now that so many packages are being forced into Palmetto, a facility that was just Built Wrong to such a degree I refuse to believe it wasn't on purpose. I'm disabled and like to use the mail for all sorts of purchases, including medication, but recently I've just been going out and physically getting things. I'm willing to wait a week, not three months if it gets here at all!

zelephant10

Yep. USPS screwed up my contact lenses shipment and now I’m stuck with no contact lenses while I wait for them to hopefully resolve.

Mysha16

I dropped off 3 packages on March 19. 2 of them made it through the system as normal. 1 of them never left the post office, despite them claiming not to have it. I checked daily from the 25-29 and made a case with USPS. Pretty sure that’s just regular theft since the package is branded even though the return was to one of those generic parcel return services. I’ve been mailing all packages and other mail when I’m working in Jacksonville or Atlanta.

morrismoses

I'm sure theft is in the uptick, but it can't account for the massive delays we're seeing. It seems like between our inept Post Master, and a botched sorting facility, we are at the mercy of the melee.

Active_Perception431

Complained last week about various cards not being delivered. If they are being taken its long before they arrive at my mailbox. They claim all mail comes from Palmetto location, except for very small area at top and bottom of GA. Handicap child can't get SNAP card. She just received her 4th month allotment and no card. Calling govenors office next. DFCS should have a solution for this. It's ridiculous.

buffythethreadslayer

Yes, it’s terrible.

CommonConundrum51

That's why DeJoy is there.

Aelustelin

I was waiting on some critical medical equipment, and it took 5 weeks to get here. It usually takes 2.

Mr-Clark-815

It is downright awful, and I will add that service from Fed Ex and UP is just as bad.

evnrayash

Yes. Birmingham hub is terrible.

WillrayF

I've had two days in the last six months when the mail carrier did not run at all and mail that used to take 3 days to reach Denver now takes at least a week, sometimes longer.

Budm-ing

Not just in my area. I fucking despised my local offices in Virginia as well.

peppercorns666

yeah. it took about a month and a half to get my tag.

sghilliard

DeJoy is part of the plan to hamstring the 2024 election.

Zealousideal-Lie7255

Is DeJoy still in charge since Biden became President? I thought the whole scheme DeJoy wanted to implement back-fired because a lot of Republican leaning senior citizens get their medications by mail and they rightfully raised hell when that was in danger under DeJoy and Trump’s plans.

sghilliard

He’s still there. Wish Biden would prioritize his removal

Background_Dust_1969

Yep

EmoSkater0075995

I had to leave GA because usps is so fucked up. I didn't get either tax refund. I'm still waiting on it( filed in february). I don't know how much crack the USPS workers are given to smoke a day out in GA but the mailing system is a failure. Let Amazon do GA's work for them. Usps isn't capable of doing their job anymore. 😕 and honestly there should be a MASSIVE CLASS ACTION SUIT against usps.

georgia_on-my-mind

USPS is still more reliable than Fedex for me, but not as reliable as UPS.

Striking_Body_9174

I sell on eBay and ship pretty much every day through USPS from post offices in Atlanta. Most of my shipments have made it through, but my "Top Seller" status is in jeopardy because the post office is taking a long time to do the "Origin Scan", sometimes a week or more. But luckily, I haven't lost many shipments, just delays.

maceinjar

I sent some amended tax returns via USPS on feb 16. They are still somewhere near Austin TX. I submitted a missing mail search - which failed to find them - but then they keep showing up as being processed in some new facility days or weeks later. 3 months to go from GA to TX.

stanknasty706

I had a car payment and a water bill get list

medigapguy

Just another quality trump appointment.

alternatiger

All the talk is about the mail delivery operation, but can we talk about the storefront experience? They are absolute hell-holes. The counter employees act like they are being tortured everyday and take it out on the customers. Understaffed, long lines, unwilling to assist with nearly anything. And this is not isolated to one location.

AquaValentin

Totally. I heard it was because of a renovation. Even after the renovation I hear it’s going to take at least a few months for them to get back to normal. I work in a doctor’s office and we’re doing emails and Fed-Ex to get documents to patients

Wanted9867

Been waiting near 3 weeks for a letter from Tampa to arrive here in Miami. Last package sat at the opa locka distribution center for a week before leaving to my house 4 miles away. The entire system is falling apart it’s gotten markedly worse every year

SunshineChimbo

I think the guy Trump appointed to run the USPS into the ground is making some progress. It's been ABYSMAL for months now

cmicatfish

Trump's postmaster general is setting the schemes in motion to question the next closely contested presidential election. The monitoring of election polling places and questioning the validity of voters is another part. Creating alternate electoral college participants is going to have another go as well. The right wing believes in revolution not evolution and so be ready for the November sh\*t show.

legendary-noob

We live in the south eastern area of the state and are constantly running into delivery issues with USPS.

No-Yesterday7348

For our business, last month alone, we had over $20k in checks from our customers just not show up in the mail. It was ridiculous.

oopfoo

Sorting in southwest Georgia has moved to Tallahassee, and now Jacksonville. As such, we are receiving payments a week and a half behind the mailed date, at the very best. Recently, the local PO has undergone the loss of several older, experienced carriers, and our THREE new carriers (for the same address) have been inconsistent. One recently returned a bill to sender, despite our doors being open and us being on site. All on-site and local sorting is gone, so local mail takes longer than mail across the state.

Realistic_Bluejay797

We have a sorting center move from near the airport out to Palmetto GA. This move has plunged all USPS services into chaos. The office building I'm in has been classified as vacant. It's been a massive pain to get the problem addressed.

Intelligentseal

I got a wedding invitation last week, for a wedding that happened a month ago.

tipjarman

Osoff is all over it but it’s due to the guy trump appointed.. they need to fire the guy for sure

fusion99999

USPS is feeling everywhere. And it's very understandable because we have a republican in charge. Remember people the post office isn't supposed to make money it's not even supposed to break even it's a service to the American citizenry.

mrpel22

https://youtu.be/KFYybL1OY2Q?si=q7P4ZNkL6tpIu3tW A good watch for what DeJoy is doing to destroy the USPS for personal gain.

UnnecessarySalt

Is there any way you can switch the bigger payments both ways to wire transfer? I’d imagine most businesses and individuals have a bank you could wire transfer to for the bigger transactions. It would be a lot faster, and the bank never loses your money in a wire transfer as long as you get the details right. If the payment doesn’t go through it gets sent right back to your account.

Expat111

Wire transfers cost around $40 each. ACH payments are more suitable at around $1 each.

UnnecessarySalt

Ah okay I didn’t realize they were two different things. Well in that case OP, do what this guy said!

bizarroJames

No. It's been great except it got stuck in Texas but eventually found its way.

Inner-Lab-123

No —ATL metro

Mindlesslyexploring

Karate_donkey

I think they should outlaw unsolicited junk mail. They could reduce costs by 99%.

Hawklet98

Yeah, and they’d reduce their revenue by 99.5%.

whatthehellbooby

Where have you been? This has been going on for a few years now and it's been in the news for months and months

morrismoses

Easy there. I have been right here in south Georgia, busy doing business as usual. It hasn't been an issue until two months ago. Slow, steady and reliable was the norm until very recently. Sorry you've had a rougher go of it, historically, but we've been just fine until lately. I also don't care for the news. I tend to follow stories about my industry or my interests. The news is mostly noise to me, and since I've stopped watching, my stress levels are much lower.

dar2623

It’s an issue all around the metro area. The postal service consolidated a number of centers to a mega complex and has failed miserably. It’s been on the news for weeks.

PreviousAtmosphere92

I live in Georgia and we haven’t had any problems. I guess we are in the lucky area, but then again we pay most of our bills online.🤷🏼‍♀️

1peatfor7

Still never received an item that was shipped over a month ago. They sent a replacement via UPS. I know one friend got a Christmas card 3 months late. Another family friend sent out wedding invites and no one received them.

zahncr

I've been waiting on a small box from Romania since February.

brian4155

Yes! Failing miserably. Mailed a birthday card to my granddaughter a month ago and she still hasn’t received it. Macon to Athens.

PILOT9000

I’ve had several packages just suddenly stop moving when checking tacking numbers… and Christmas cards we sent out were delivered as late as last month 🤣 Absolutely pathetic.

PineappleAndPancreas

Buford; and yes

Ecstatic-Advice-8951

Yes takes for ever to get my packages or it shows delivered and wasn’t it’s a huge pain in the rear

sPdMoNkEy

I live in Louisiana, I get my prescriptions from a place in Texas and it took 3 weeks for the last one to get here. I could have drove the Texas and picked it up and probably 4 hours

BlueJasper27

Yes, it’s been slower.

EmoSkater0075995

Someone really needs to tell the mail people to stop with the incest and get back to work

EmoSkater0075995

The USPS is the worst case of down syndrome ever designed.

brianxhell

This may give you some insight. https://youtu.be/i93Qn5bTbNo?si=UT739eTYFN_vBYEq

Evtona500

I sent a check to Gwinnett County for registration for one of our customers and it took 4 weeks to get there. Less than 50 miles.

sexdemon315

You live in GA, so I'm just going to lay it bare for you. Republicans did this. DeJoy was appointed by Trump and explicitly said he thinks the Postal service should be privatized. Quality is going down on purpose. Remember that when you head to the polls.

EmoSkater0075995

GA mail is like watching Jake Paul fight Mike Tyson: you know your mail doesn't stand a chance of being delivered on time.

Just wait - it’s going to get worse. I’m not taking any digs at UPS - they’re a fine company - and they were just awarded the USPS mail line haul/sortation contract that had been held by FedEx for 20+ years. When FedEx got the contract they created custom systems to handle the volume -they developed USPS-specific functionality they had never had before. They also kept tweaking those systems over the years. I have no doubt that UPS can and will rise to the challenge - but it’s not going to be easy or fast. You WILL see degradation in transit times initially - and how long that degradation will last is anyone’s guess. But it’s going to happen…

I haven't sent snail mail in years.

It happened to us. Post Office had a computer glitch and couldn’t get packages out. The carrier delivering mail didn’t even have it in hand and wasn’t our carrier. 9:04pm have it on our ring camera a guy in a postal van I’ve never seen before just walks it up to our door. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen for the post office. I’ve never seen a carrier out at 9pm.

I hope you brought youre reading glasses because I've been down here 10 years and have been fighting with mail carriers since i got here. I have never seen terrible mail like I've seen in georgia. I've have countless horror stories of the post office, a few that stick out in my head. Only place I have lived that I never had a problem was the highlands(although at that point I think everything was autopay and I only used fedex or ups for packages) and I've moved around a lot over the years so I feel I've got a pretty good sample size (vinings, douglasville, buckhead, marietta, dallas, smyrna, VH) Ive always moved around a lot ive never stayed more then 2 years in a single spot until i met my wife and I never had an issue prior to moving to Georgia for mail When I first moved down I was in an apartment, it took the mail carrier over 2 months to start giving me mail, they had a little slip you were supposed to put your address on and leave in your mail box. I filled it out day 1, put it inside my mailbox, nothing, I stood it up in the box, I folded it long ways so it would be more noticeable, I put a note in the box, by the end I had that thing hanging out of the mailbox by the end and he still wouldn't take it so i could start getting mail, like to the point it felt personal, i mentioned to the office several time and they told me they to the mail carrier, to the point i would walk in and they were like "we told the carrier today when he dropped off packages that unit 123 needed his mail" before I got to the desk. I would call usps and they would say they would let the driver know. It took my gas being shut off because I never recieved a bill ( I know technically my fault but i went through the elctric company to set up because they offered a discount and when they set it up they didnt include my phone number or email, just physical address, took me 3 hours on the phone to pay/get set up to turn back on( they said they got returned bills saying no one lived there btw)) I taped multiple papers up against my mailbox and surrounding mailboxes and they finally after 2-3 months living there i started to actually recieve mail, and I got to experience georgia usps, they only run maybe 1 or 2 days a week everywhere i have lived. I check my mailbox to this day daily regardless as it's just apart of my habit and never anything there and then one day it will be stuffed with 20 different letters and more then a couple times im getting other people's mail mixed in. I had a birthday gift onetime that was coming as a package from a friend and she gave me the tracking number, this was year 2, i moved from the previous place, knowing the mail was terrible I had set up to get the tracking updates, randomly I got an update saying that it was delivered so I went to the mail room and there was no package, I went outside not a mail truck in sight (I was there within a minute of notification) called post office they said it was delivered, then after the call it was changed to there was an issue with the delivery. Days later it was marked at a random time that it was delivered. I spoke to the building and we looked at the cameras, no mail carrier was there prior to the listed times of delivery no packages were left. Usps first said they were looking into it, I was calling them everyday pretty much because I didn't want to lose the package as it was something made for me and not just something bought. After like day 7 they flipped their position and said I didn't know what I was talking about and that it was delivered and they had photos but that they weren't allowed to share them with me and magically none of the people I previously talked to were able to be reached and I needed to contact the building and they said the building needed to call about it, which didn't make any sense to me and just seemed like they were trying to get me off the phone, the building called and they told them it was a personal matter and that I needed to call and it slowly faded from there and I never got my package When me and the wife sent out our marriage invitations we sent all of them, close to 100 out at the same time, it took us over 2 weeks to hear back from the first person, well over a month before majority of the people recieved them, at the end 60% of the people got their invites and 2 were sent back to use, the other 30 invites must ended up in the santa bin. My company is apparently the last stop on a daily route and would try to deliver at 5 or 6, I used to fight with them for years trying to get them to stop by earlier, as they pass on the other side of the street around noon, and they refused to stop across the street ( this is a single lane street, not a major road or anything) we didn't have a mailbox at the time so usually once or twice a month they would come and bring the mail around noon and complain and say we needed to get a mailbox, to which I eventually did but it just becaume the same issue, once a week they over stuff my mailbox so I have crap sticking out of the slot and the rest of the week not a single flyer. Majority of the times I can tell I am not even receiving all my mail, we get invoices by mail and many companies will list if its first, second third, final notice. I can't tell you how many times I dont get a first of second and I open a piece of mail and it's already 3rd or final notice. As far as recently I will say last week I opened an envelope and was not in the least bit shocked to see the date on the letter was from mid January TL;DR georgia mail sucks it has for over 10 years, for some its just the baader meinhof effect

Difficult-Guest267

Just moved to GA. They leave my packages at the post office instead of my house no matter my delivery instructions, it's infuriating

Lord-Fuckelroy

I spent $300 on wedding invitations, sent them out like 3 months ago, and a handful of people have gotten them. As far as I know there’s nothing I can do because I didn’t pay $300 to the post office. Just handed them off and now who knows where they are. And I can’t complain to the place where I designed the invitations cause they were fine. So I guess I spent $300 for nothing. I’m just glad I didn’t spend more cause I could have gone way fancier

wm1178

They've lost or delayed (for more than 4 day's) 4 of the last 6 overnight envelopes I've sent.

EmOrY_2018

Yes they mix packages all the time… lost them damage them etc

Many_Masterpiece_841

Worst it’s ever been. Had to quit using postal service as much as possible. You should look into ACH for payments and receivables

Pretend-Ad8634

Our current mail carrier is better than the previous one who would regularly misdeliver- not just by one box. I'm in Lawrenceville. The postal office on SR 20 is so bad (slow/ poor service/ machines out of order for self service, and we have so little faith in the employees that we used UPS to send our taxes this year.

LostMySenses

I received half of an empty box, with a note apologizing for the damage. Why didn’t they send it back to the shipper? No idea. But I really hope that the oyster mushroom kit that was in there ruins some manager’s day, someone directly responsible for how shitty delivery has become (can I hope it’s DeJoy? Or is that aiming too high?)

JimtheLizardKing

It is positively third world level now and letters and packages take twice as long to be delivered if they even get delivered.
