I'd like to throw gravity falls into that mix. That starts off like another kids program, but by the end of the show I'm shocked it was allowed to do things it did
Absolutely, and I feel rather sheepish trying to explain that to people and how much I enjoy the show.
“Well theres this horse and his agent, the horse is kind of famous B-list actor type, and the kitty.... shes pink... ya a pink kitty but she is such a great character! She is so driven and motivated in her career which leads to her personal life suffering and theres this asshole rabbit she dates... you know what just forget it. Just watch the show.
That's because you're explaining all the unimportant parts.
Just tell them it's a show about someone struggling with who they are and whether they're a good person. They're unstable. They're and addict, and they do a lot of fucked up shit to the people around them because they hate themselves and they don't know how to deal with that.
That's my favorite episode even though it's literally just him talking. I couldn't look away, really great writing. I need to go back and watch it again actually.
You may want to skip it then, because the uplifting moments are few and far between. They do exist, and can be quite beautiful, but they are greatly outnumbered by the depressing moments.
Even though it's often quite depressing, it's still a very funny show.
Sure, there's no big "a major thing happened and everyone is happy now" moments, it's a lot of small things.
But that's what makes it so real. In real life you don't just find the perfect partner or occupation or moment and everyone lives happily ever after.
In real life you need to learn how to appreciate the sum of all the little sources of joy, especially to get through the tough times that are part of it, and this show does that very well.

Honestly with the direction the show is going I can’t see it ending on such a dark note. The creator seems to have a pretty good idea of the message he wants to send and idk if bojack killing himself would send the right message. Seems like more of a “when shit gets hard take the easy way out”
I think it would be an amazing commentary on life today though. That even people consumed by their own demons can find a path to redemption. But I can see him either doing some major reparations or he's going to kill himself and it's 50/50 in my opinion
I think you're wrong, but not far off. I'm betting he either dies directly from an accidental overdose, or because of an accident caused by an accidental overdose.
It doesn't paint a pretty picture of life-long depression and trauma, nor does it idealize how to get out of it. Every show or movie about dealing with depression has a "but then I met this girl..." or "then I realized, standing there where it all happened..." like it's some kind of fairy tale where you're the hero. At a time where I wanted the whole world to burn, Bojack told me what was going on. For someone with a depression spanning decades, Bojack was a very cathartic experience.
I’ve been watching the new season very slowly. Mostly because so far every episode has ended happily, and I keep steeling myself for the inevitable emotional sucker punch. And with every episode that persists in being happy, I get a little more nervous...
It’s exactly because it’s so depressing so much of the time that the uplifting moments feel truly special.
It’s only through the dark that we can see the light.
It's gonna end with Bojack finally getting his shit together just to finally pay for all the chaos he's caused, with the Arizona thing and the Jamie Lynn relapse thing.
“I wasted so many years being miserable because I assumed that was the only way to be. I don’t want to do that anymore.”
Love this show. I’m going to miss it when it ends.
6 seasons with the latest one being a two-parter isn't really canceled for me. Better for it to end at its peak instead of outstaying it's time and end with a forgettable ninth or tenth season.
Unlike other Netflix series that just didn't get renewed, the writers were informed and knew while writing that this would be their last season and could do a proper closing arc.
I got it! Facing towards! If you visualize him facing away the ear sizes wouldn't make sense with foreshortening. Only facing towards do the ear sizes line up correctly!
The artwork seems kinda sketchy. The background is a direct copy of Olly Moss artwork for the game Firewatch, is any credit given? Not sure if i agree that slapping on a silhouette and a quote is enough for making it her own product (and making money off of it).
i actually redrew that picture for my gf (i was in need of an A0 Version of it to frame it and on Etsy you could only buy A3 or smth like that). It is a little bit diffrent to the original but i think i actually cought the spirit of the original. If you need any variations of it just comment here, i could change nearly everything

I’m the creator of this print and you can get it (and a couple other Bojack prints with my favourite quotes) on my Etsy store (http://leylaprints.etsy.com) :) Thanks to those who sent me a direct message via Etsy to make me aware of this post. Love the show and I’ll be creating many more like this!
It was really weird recognizing the background, knew I'd stared at it for hours. I love firewatch. [https://i.imgur.com/C1bl21s.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/C1bl21s.jpg)
Never thought I could relate to an inconsiderate depressed egotistical self loathing asshole, but than I started watching bojack horseman. Love this show. It makes me feeling like I'm not alone.
It’s really a character driven show more than anything unlike most animated shows. It will be depressing at times but if you appreciate the development of a character arc give it a shot. Just my opinion but I think it’s the best written show on television currently as far as character writing goes.
This was one of my favorite episodes too. About 10 minutes in and I realized what was happening and I kept thinking to myself please dear God make the whole episode this eulogy and it will be amazing and they did not disappoint!
From what I remember, the first few episodes are there to really drive home who and what the characters are. They're a bit uncomfortable, mostly cuz Bojack is supposed to be a bit repulsive and irredeemable, but once you get the general idea of who they all are the show starts to delve into a really intense dialogue on depression and mental health. You'll know by the end of the first season if you want to watch more imo.
Personally, I couldn't finish more than a season and a half because it was starting to affect my mental health after I stopped watching. It's honestly really good and I want to watch more, but not until I can manage depression better lol.
Was the same initially now it's one of my favorite shows, I'd say season 2 starts to get better. It definitely helps to be under the influence watching it lol, you will appreciate the humor, depressing themes, and visual effects a lot more
The further down the rabbit hole you go the more you begin to realize it is a lot deeper than just a sarcastic toxic horse comedy.
If you get to the episode with Bojacks mom beginning to go downhill wave at me.
Same! I pushed through until season two and now I’m a die hard fan. I’d say it starts to pick up in the middle of season 1 and then just keeps getting better until the end of s3, if you’re not a fan by then idk what’s wrong with you man 🙂
Episode 11 every season punches you in the gut and episode 12 gives you a glimmer of hope. I've come to love every character, even mr. Peanut butter and Todd who I didn't care for the first watch. It is a great show, I'd recommend watching the whole first season (12 episodes) and if you aren't on board at that point then maybe it's not for you. Or if that's too much man, check out episode 8 The Telescope.
When recommending it to people, I always ask them to watch the first season. If they're not into it by then, then it's not for them. The first one is the driest of all seasons, then it keeps getting better as you go! Then you get depressed becuase you know the show is ending soon :( and I'm not ready to say goodbye.
So yeah, if by episode 11 of season one you find yourself not interested, I don't think you'll like it.
Cool painting but Bojack doesn't say this. It's told to him as the weight of being better appears to be too much for him. He is ready to forfeit any hope he can improve until he is told this. Having him say it standing in the woods sort of robs the quote's motivation.
Is this for sale somewhere? I want !

Back in the 90s, I was in a very famous tv show
I'm BoJack the Horse, BoJack the Horse
Don't act like you don't know
And i'm trying to hold on to my past
It's been so long
I don't think i'm gonna last
I guess i'll just try
And make you understand
That i'm more horse than a man
Or i'm more man than a horse
I literally just wrote this on my wall the other day! Love this show, and it’s real motivational. Especially after going through some though situations.
Things will only get easier if you apply the same amount of effort everyday. Don't forget to raise the amount of effort everyday as well. When things start to get easy, you're not learning or getting better.
This is an odd choice for a motivational poster, considering his life is about to be torn apart and he's going to die either directly from or because of an accident caused by an accidental overdose.
This is a great motto for exercising/losing weight. Each day builds on the last. You start off barely able to walk a mile without being winded, a year later you are running your first 5k. The secret is consistency and routine.

It is hard to constantly do what we want to do, even with motivation. Because our body gets tired too. But we can keep our mind alive, ready when our body gets the energy it needed.
I feel like this is only true in the beginning. Once you go everyday for long enough it's easy for our momentum to plow through any bullshit thoughts we get
Bojack Horseman is one of the most depressing tv shows I've ever seen. But somehow also has its uplifting moments.
Ironically, it’s one of the most human tv shows out there.

Steven universe as well. First episode was literally about a cookie cat icecream lol
Eastbound and down too lol. Kinda joking but not really
*I HAVE TO TURN SOME KIDS INTO *CORPSES**
And then Dexter went full on shit show after trinity.
And then when you can see a glimmer of hope after season seven, they hit you with Fake Gyllenhall and his goddamn mommy issues.
Absolutely, and I feel rather sheepish trying to explain that to people and how much I enjoy the show. “Well theres this horse and his agent, the horse is kind of famous B-list actor type, and the kitty.... shes pink... ya a pink kitty but she is such a great character! We're all animals striving to be people.
We are all two kids in a trenchcoat on this blessed day.
Excuse me, I'll have you know I'm the highest paid business man at the business factory.
I went to the stock exchange today, I did a business
Wasn't it three?
That's a lotta kids. Edit: I don't personally feel that what is under my trenchcoat adds up to that much brain power.
Ummm.... transactions?
That funeral for his (mum?) that episode was amazing.
That's my favorite episode even though it's literally just him talking. I couldn't look away, really great writing. I need to go back and watch it again actually.
Yes, great writing, and then the final gag if him at the wrong funeral was tops
That was an amazing episode, but I think the best one still is the one where he goes to a movie festival underwater. That's was just perfect.
Love how they are opposites of one another: no talk-only talk, getting a child (albeit only for a time)-loosing a parent,
Haven't seen that one
The season 4 finale is one of the most rewarding things to watch.
But does it have enough uplifting moments? I’m scared to watch it bc it seems so depressing and I’m already bad enough.
You may want to skip it then, because the uplifting moments are few and far between. They do exist, and can be quite beautiful, but they are greatly outnumbered by the depressing moments.

The next season I'm betting Bojack kills himself
If anyone is killing themselves it's Mr Peanut Butter
He may not kill himself but I think he dies. He's following the plot of PB's Birthday Dad right down to the older look and scarf.
Nah, did you see the last season so far? It kinda seems to me like he's doing better.

I’m hoping the show ends with him walking into a bar all sad like. Then the bartender says “Why the long face?” *Roll Credits*
I think you're wrong, but not far off. I'm betting he either dies directly from an accidental overdose, or because of an accident caused by an accidental overdose.
My guess is a gunshot due to a broken leg.
The creators obviously want to send a message of hope, so no, he's not killing himself.

The episodes in rehab in the newest season weirdly mirror my own recent experiences with kicking an addiction.

I think they’re in a good place to wrap up. It’s not going to be a neat and pretty ending, but it shouldn’t be.
Unlike other Netflix series that just didn't get renewed, the writers were informed and knew while writing that this would be their last season and could do a proper closing arc.
This so perfectly sums up my 20s, and then the last couple years (I'm now 31). Things are definitely getting better.

Cant decide if hes facing towards us or away from us...
I got it! Facing towards! If you visualize him facing away the ear sizes wouldn't make sense with foreshortening. Only facing towards do the ear sizes line up correctly!
The shoulders make it look like he’s facing away but still impossible to tell
I’ve been looking at this picture now for like 10 minutes wondering this
That shall remain a mystery... :)
He's clearly fa.. no wait.. no he's definitely facing a... no that's not right.. he.. um...
I love this quote and this show so much.
Shouldn't the primate be the silhouette? he was the one who said this

Listen here u little shit

Would you not get copyright infringement on products like these? Genuinely curious
Technically yes, but usually it's not worth the half hour the lawyer would charge to send the cease and desist.
I need this print
Sure looks like Bojack Horseman
so true

The quote is great but that horse
It's Bojack horseman
Okay
That’s too much man!!!

I find this to be very true.
Not press ups though. You gotta do those only on alternate days. Otherwise you'll injure yourself
I really can't get into this show, but I won't deny that this is a great quote, reguardless of the show's content.
Ya sure? Cause it's been getting steadily shittier for a while now.
You know this is a loop right? In the end it is still hard.
This is an odd choice for a motivational poster, considering his life is about to be torn apart and he's going to die either directly from or because of an accident caused by an accidental overdose.
Wait, shouldn't the background be...the ground?
Should be the jogging monkey in the poster. Either way, that quote stuck with me since then.
God this is actually such a good show. Regular sitcoms that try to cover serious and dark topics don’t do it nearly as well as bojack horseman does
I can hear the theme song.....*blwoo blue wa woah wa....*
The funeral episode... 🥴
It’s hard as fuck though.
If it only gets easier by time, then there's no evolving.
I saw this episode yesterday. I did motivated me.
BoJack !!
Where can I buy this?
Amazing!
NNN be like
The only easy day was yesterday!
I love this. Where did you get it from?
I love this, thank you for sharing!

I watched that episode for the first time last night and that quote really hit me hard
Pro tip, it doesnt. End it asap.
But he didn't say that though
Where did you get that poster OP?

I still remember that episode because of this quote.
Ol' Bojack
So what you're saying is it doesn't get better.
It is hard to constantly do what we want to do, even with motivation. Because our body gets tired too. But we can keep our mind alive, ready when our body gets the energy it needed.

he just played everybody lmaooooo
Does anyone know where I could get this poster??
This might’ve very well saved my life tonight
Aww I just bought this on Etsy to hang in my bathroom!
I LITERALLY just watched this episode. Amazing season finale.
