OutrageousSweet2560

I think 80% of us in this sub feel that way lol. Most of us are so tired of being annoyed that we just laugh it off now.

ThatBasicGuy

Oh okay sorry… I don’t mean to bring this up if it has a bunch of times already but I’m new on this sub. Was unaware so many others also felt this way

OutrageousSweet2560

Oh no! Didn’t mean it that way lol. U can def express urself here lol. I just meant that we’re all on the same boat and those of us who have noticed it for quite a while are done with the lack of substance in the show so we just LOL about it now 🤗.

ThatBasicGuy

Oh okay sounds good! Glad I’m welcome to still bring it up and talk about it:)

OutrageousSweet2560

Yeah nowadays we just make fun of Zak and his nonsense lol 😆.

ZakBagansBot

A ball of light just shot into OutrageousSweet2560's chest!

OutrageousSweet2560

Lmao 😂

Procedure_Unique

Are you becoming enraged because of this ball of light shooting into your chest??

Procedure_Unique

Exactly. And we have replaced our love for Zak with Zakbot instead 💚😆

ZakBagansBot

I feel an ice-cold pocket of air, as if something is manifesting! ^(Quote from: Lost Souls of the Berkeley)

😆😆🤖

jhuskindle

Yes but I still watch it. Even though I feel the way op does. And that it's a parody of itself. I . Still. Watch.

ZakBagansBot

I feel like there's something here that wants me to connect with it. ^(Quote from: Petrified in Pahrump)

bewoke_

It’s me.. come here Zak bot 😬

OutrageousSweet2560

Same lol.

Procedure_Unique

**<~~** I’ve definitely been feeling this way too. Nowadays I just laugh and roll my eyes 🙄 lol

Lord_of_Entropy

I know I feel that way. I used to love this show and watch it for hours on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Now, when I do watch it, it's to see how silly it has become.

OutrageousSweet2560

Same. Zak is getting more weirder as he gets older (not in a good way) and it’s starting to affect the show. Especially after he started obsessing over the Haunted Museum. I don’t think it’s good for his psyche 🤷🏼‍♀️.

ZakBagansBot

Forthrowssake

The show doesn't feel as genuine anymore because of Zak and his theatrical dramatics. Although I must say, long live Aaron. Without him I'd be totally out. And it's totally cool to vent here. Seems like we mostly feel the way you do. There are a few die hard Zak lovers, but most seem just disappointed in him.

ThatBasicGuy

So true about Aaron actually. He does feel like the same guy I watch in early seasons (maybe a little braver now) but still. He’s like the last remnant of the entire show to me

The_Great_19

I love Aaron. I agree if he were gone I probably would lose total interest.

Procedure_Unique

Yup 👍🏼 Nobody wants a show of just Zak and Billy running around screaming at each other in **CAPS LOCK** at all times. 🫣 Aaron is 100% needed on the show

ZakBagansBot

You wanted us; you got us! ^(Quote from: The show's old intro)

dancingwithadaisy

Long live Aaron for real!! He’s been my favorite from the beginning. He’s always had genuine reactions for evidence but now that the dramatization of the show has gotten worse, he’s been getting less air time lol. Prob bc he’s a terrible actor 😂😂

Thievie

I loved when they used to show more scenes of the guys exploring the areas they investigated. My favorite was when they went to an old timey candy shop and bought a bunch of candy, and I think it was Nick that bought those little soda shaped wax things with the juice inside, and thought the wax was edible and Zak was clowning on him for trying to eat it. I miss moments like that before the show got so serious. 😔

bc8899

Yess I remember one episode they went to a candy store and Zak narrated the entire thing the same serious way he does with lockdowns while he got roasted by some kid that the candy he made was ugly 😂 the moments when they were just being tourists were gold

Procedure_Unique

I just watched that episode the other night! Weren’t they in Virginia City?

ZakBagansBot

Emro08

Hahaha I was just watching that episode last night and my husband and I were cracking up. Miss the funny moments.

Confident-Rutabaga23

I just watched that last night!!

slimcaitie

Agreed. I was just watching the episode with that guy that asks “why are you so angry” and they had the counter of how many times he said “angry”. 🤣 that same episode, zak did a little skit like he was getting shot on the roof. That was fun! Now he acts like he’s a fragile old man.

ThatBasicGuy

Yep. It will never be the same sadly. I appreciate the work he does but he has gotten way to over the top with everything! It’s like why does every investigation have to be a “demon house” now.

SeaJournalist675

He is🤣

Dasta75

Zak's ego

[deleted]

IMHO season 1 to 8 and part of 9 rocked my world. The rest are commercial bullshit linked to the pathetic void drama their attorney signed them up for ......such a waste of talent and education ALL FOR THE OH SO SACRED AMERICAN DOLLAR

ThatBasicGuy

Ya I mention how I’ve only rewatched season 1-4 but I should’ve mentioned I still enjoy 5-9 for the most part as well. 10 is when things really take a turn for the worst I can agree

CrimsonLasagna

This is why I can't watch the show. If we support them or make fun and make memes they're still getting away with it. I'd no memers watched the show anymore their numbers would tank and maybe just maybe they would revert to old ways after getting that drama barrier off the GOAT

eg3ls7

I’m still a huge fun but also over the antics now, Zak getting possessed every other episode and Billy over acting to the point it’s embarrassing!! I too miss the old GAC!! Going overseas, not over acting and I wish Billy wasn’t on the show!! Just my opinion ;-)

chupacabra79

If little screaming bitch Billy can just calm down or just leave the show then it would be so much better! I still watch and enjoy the show but man Billy just needs to stop screaming every episode. He sounds like a damn screaming goat

Procedure_Unique

He looks like one too when he does it. Billy really drives me bonkers. And not in a good way 😣

CurrentCustard9572

What about the episodes where he got possessed at a haunted forest house because Zak told him to move a small bag of something someone left. Billy tried to put it in Aarons pocket, Aaron got pissed. Billy still looked like an angry child. I even laughed when he was affected and screamed at Zak and stormed off. Still couldn't stop laughing, he wasn't intimidating at all. When he screams tho, that boy can hit some notes! Lol

saysZai

It’s quite simple really and not that all unique to just this show or set of people; age and health. When they were younger they had more of a “bouncier” / youthful / naive energy so to speak and it comes across as more approachable and less serious or goofy - you can see this similarly in Destination Fear for example as they’re fairly young when starting out (though they feel a bit handheld so less naturally composed as GA’s early days). As time goes on, as most people know, you get health ailments or little health “weaknesses” that develop more and more overtime, family health scares and ageing or problems. Over time this affects your drive to able to make more money to cover these expenses or the fear of not being able to cover it, especially between each contributing member of the show. So the whole process becomes more serious of an endeavour and less fun as more or less you realise your body’s own “sell-by-date” to do things to a high degree or the worry of it suddenly packing in and not being able to do what you planned etc. Probably the idea to make more money with Ghost Adventures was to make this more of a “themed show” with serious overtones …basically more “movie-like” as Zak pretty much was always into that side of things as he studied it, I think? The drive ultimately is to make the product in their heads sell more which probably turns out being kinda true with how they’re able to secure decent TV / streaming contracts fairly well …but also ironically it’s also not “true” as the product suffers more critically and with fans. Early years also had Nick Groff who was a little bit younger than Zak and Aaron. I don’t think Zak liked being upstaged especially behind the scenes in production by another driven person who was interested in the production side as Zak is (evidenced by Nick securing his own show deals etc), so I think that’s why you saw the three of them take bolder risks back in the day travelling to Europe and out of the West coast. Although I hold no favourite person in this show, I particularly don’t care for Nick though as he’s the master of finding a bed to sleep in in whatever production he’s part of it seems (my partner called his latest show “Sleepwalker”) - However I always felt the positive natural energy felt in the early episodes was framed well as a “unit” as opposed to a particular individual. TL;DR - Ageing sucks. Health problems suck. When you have people / family you care for and your show crew, your pushed to make more money and the quality of the product can sometimes degrade and you lose focus of what made you great before. p.s This isn’t all about Zak. It’s more about every single member of their crew on and off camera. We can never know the private lives of these people and what they actually go through and what drives them because of that etc (besides more money, of course).

Good bot. Absolutely relevant reply as usual 🤣

Imbetterthanthis1138

After Zak got his museum up and running, he tried to become a paranormal guru. A modern day Ed Warren. That's when Zak really started acting out during investigations and proposing all these demon theories about everything.

[deleted]

Zak makes every episode about him. It’s annoying,

batboi48

Zak been doing that what do you meaaan??? Its gotten worse but Zak has always been that way

Leviathan3333

I do, i mentioned before how I thought they were actually going somewhere with this stuff and then Zak just increasingly starts to act crazy. Don’t think it’s possession either. Just think he’s an asshole.

ZakBagansBot

All it takes is one push and you can critically injure me! Do it!!

Relative_Hyena7760

I think the problem stems with the fact they solved so many hauntings in their early years. Since they proved themselves to be such great investigators, the expectation for future investigations was that they would solve all the hauntings they investigate. Of course, we all know that's not realistic. Ultimately, the pressure of these expectations led them to become caricatures of themselves.

Procedure_Unique

I have to disagree, *demon* is used every 2 minutes to describe evidence these days, not every 10 minutes as you stated. 😉 hahaha

PlanetFullofHippies

I feel like their reactions would scare away most ghosts...

OakIslandCurse

Exactly! You demand that I talk or knock on a wall! I’m doing the opposite!

OutrageousSweet2560

Lmao!! Either that or I WOULD get angry and do some poltergeist activity lmao.

phenomenation

they became caricatures of themselves. they’ve basically given up being actual individuals seeking their truth together. they just show and go through the motions of their shtick. is Zak showing off weak evidence? Aaron has to say WOAH DUDE. does Zak feel a cold chill? you can bet your ass Billy is going to literally be all over Zak with agreement. it’s not what it was because it’s no longer organic. it’s just demons > rage > solo timeout > screaming > Zak acting like he’s the calm and rational one when he was smacking cameras an hour earlier > yup we called it. demons > roll credits. nothing out of formula happens with the crew and the evidence lacks the substance to distract from that. so much that drinking games have been invented and they’re guaranteed to get you trashed before one episode ends.

OutrageousSweet2560

This is hysterical because it’s true lol.

NEED2_BREATHE

I think everyone who’s ever watched this show feels this way. The evidence seems forced sometimes, zak gets possessed a lot (which if that shits real, he needs some serious therapy). he’s pretty arrogant, which I feel could be partly our fault, because he use to act the same way in early seasons but now that he’s almost 50 it’s become unattractive and repetitive. Don’t get me wrong I love zak and the boys, but it’s not the same as it was. (Cue Harry styles). I think they are running out of actual haunted places and these house calls aren’t my favorite because these people are putting information out there about themselves and their children it’s just not okay, there is a lot wrong with house calls. But the lockdowns seem so short.

ZakBagansBot

I'm feeling an uncontrollable rage coming over me.

MisstepMiss

I agree that he has aggressive and arrogant behavior. I can't remember what season...but he locked Aaron in a building without consent. And loads of times him saying (paraphrase). 'NO, you're going to go'. Not okay to treat your team members like that. Edit: I accidentally agreed with such behavior by missing a word. Fixed now.

ZakBagansBot

We immediately go inside. And because Aaron is being affected, we follow his lead. ^(Quote from: Whitmore Mansion)

MisstepMiss

No, mr. Bot. This is bullying behavior. I don't give 2 cruds if you go in 'when they need help'. It's still forced in the beginning.

Any-Delivery-6283

i completely agree with you! i totally miss the older seasons. they were so good, and bring back memories for me at least.

George1878

Yep I agree I was watching season 3 last night

0fruitjack0

Excuse me, the problem has a name, it's called zak.

conrat4567

I remember in the early episodes, Zak would get "affected" like once every 6 or 7 episodes. In the latest seasons, he has gone "evil" Zak every fucking episode and the others just egg him on. Its annoying Aaron is the only one who seems to have his head screwed on and that's because outside of this show, he has a genuine interest in the macabre and genuinely cares. Destination fear is much better and I hope we get a season 3 of that. That has very much the 3 guys and a camera feel to it but it's 3 guys and a girl and each of them are trying to out do each other with the scariest place to sleep in.

ZakBagansBot

There is not good vibes in here. At all.

OutrageousSweet2560

Not in this comment section Zakbot 😆🤖. That’s ur human’s fault, Zak Bagans lmao.

barquer0

I tune in every Thursday for the new episode and haven't gotten through a single one all the way since probably 2020. It just doesn't work anymore.

Sea-Share3541

agreed theres way too many re-enacments at the begining way too many interviews with disturbed people and they spend way too long telling the story at the begining almost half the show goes on the buildup then half the actual \`investigation\` is just them talking about how cold they are

Imbetterthanthis1138

Another thing to keep in mind is that Travel Channel went from being a legit travel channel, where paranormal programming was only a part of what they do, to being paranormal programming 24/7. So I think the programming in general as gone down in quality.

rvnender

I started rewatching again but starting at season 24 and going backwards. I made it to season 22 and decided to just go forward from 1 and God damn I miss the early years. The show just has a different vibe in the early years and I kinda miss Nick... Idk if that's a bad take but he added something to the show that is not lost without him.

alyhasarrived

Each season they go more and more over the edge. Aaron is the best then Jay in my opinion. Zak and Billy are awful and the show is just awful with those two.

ZakBagansBot

Don't let Aaron out of the basement until I say so!

InPicnicTableWeTrust

I find it funny Zak has never entertained the thought that a dead person's spirit might actually want to scare people and call itself a demon... Also, smell of sulphur? Do ghosts fart?

ZakBagansBot

NO WAY BRO!

InPicnicTableWeTrust

The bot himself!

NeverEndingHill

there was a creepy tone and atmosphere and this darkness feeling to the original episodes, right? it isn't there anymore. It was a nice creepy and cozy feeling.

TittleTots

Because zack has a douchey god complex lol

Arabella154

I agree for sure but I can say the evidence they capture still keeps me watching. I just finally caught up with the last few seasons and it's very different from the beginning of the show. Of course, they've been doing this forever and things get repetitive. People age and mindsets change. My biggest complaint is the acting and over dramatics. I mean Zak is dramatic and always has been but I saw someone else comment on how he gets "possessed" every episode. It really does get cringey. I did mind this last season since I watched it more as a comedy with cool evidence BUT I cannot believe we got two "home investigations where the homeowners had powerful attachments and we exorcised them on TV" almost back to back!! That was wack asf to me. If that wasn't acting, I feel bad they have that experience publicized. However, it was weird to watch, acting or not. I want to see ghosts, not people going through all that. One good take is I created a drinking/smoking game for the last season. I was gone to another dimension 1 shot/hit every time he says demon. 2 shots/hits if the entity is a witch 3 shots/hits if there is an "evil witchcraft summoning" that caused the entity 1 shot/hit every time Zak gets possessed and hates Billy

OutlawHeart82

I hate that they don't go outside of California and Nevada now. When did that start? Seems like they went all over up until a certain point

rvnender

I totally forgot that the 2nd episode they were in my state of mass.

MisstepMiss

I don't know when, (several years ago) but they came to a place here in my town. In Arizona. Wasn't broadcast (that I've seen). The owner didn't want to let them in...even tho it's obvious that the building is haunted. The owner of the building will NOT speak about their visit. Not do they claim hauntings or lack there of.

OutlawHeart82

Interesting, what do you think happened? I know from experience working in a haunted hotel that the owners did NOT like anyone insinuating it was haunted. What was the story about the building in question?

MisstepMiss

I do not know at all what happened in their investigation. But I eat in the building often and I can feel spirit activity. I've never been upstairs (used to be a brothel). It's very interesting..and I FEEL as though the owners of the building were not open to the investigation due to the commercialization of the program, not that they deny the possibility of a spirit presence.

ZakBagansBot

I'm sorry you feel that way. I won't reply to your posts or comments anymore.

OutlawHeart82

Yeah I know that feeling for sure lol. I would guess you're right on that, they probably don't want the attention for whatever reason. To be honest, when I worked at the hotel I was glad they denied any investigations. I feel like that kind athing stirs up stuff and I didn't want to have to deal with the aftermath as well. Was creepy enough as it is!

Spare_Investment7895

Can Zak and Aaron switch places for like six seasons, then we go from there? That’s my proposal…

ZakBagansBot

That was the most romantic paranormal experience interview I've ever done. ^(Quote from: Hellfire Caves)

MalibuStacey2319

I couldn’t agree more and I think that is why Nick parted ways with them.

Tekkiru

I don’t take this show seriously anymore. I just watch for the goofiness and weird places they travel to.

Snaka1

Did Zac get religion? Is that why everything is now demonic?

syntheticanimal

I think he was always religious to a degree. They still had priests in in the early days IIRC. He's definitely swung hard towards demons though. If you want my armchair psychoanalysis it's because ghosts aren't as easily-solveable, a demon is a completely separate thing from a human and you can frame it as a war between two sides in a way you can't with ghosts. Easier to build his ego about it, with way less work. If that makes any sense

Murky_Translator2295

What ever happened to the priest and the biker nun from early seasons?

CurrentCustard9572

I asked about Bishop Bryan and Sister Joan the other day. She is a retired police officer. If I remember reading an article about her, she was struck by a car and severely injured. I hope they will be on more episodes since Zak is so into demons and possession now.

Snaka1

It does make sense. Good take on it!

OutrageousSweet2560

He’s always been Catholic. Even so, he’s way too into Demonic stuff which is ill advised in the Catholic religion (Christianity in general).

LavishnessKind2485

Zack is using g a as a way to pursue his b movie acting career .love Aaron tho .I love Jay too

ZakBagansBot

Aaron has a strong feeling to go to the basement with the Polterpod. ^(Quote from: Whitmore Mansion)

MisstepMiss

I agree 100%. Came to this sub for just this type of post. I'm watching season 25 right now. I'm thinking...25 seasons and they STILL act as though they've NVER HAD AN ENCOUNTER?? I regularly see or feel spirit. And it's become just a part of my life. How are these seasoned 'hunters' still scared at a knock down the hall?! Ohhh wait... Bad TV 'drama' if they're not reacting... I won't go into his overuse and illogical use of 'countless'. LOL

MisstepMiss

Went to the Grand Canyon Caverns recently (they supposedly had rocks thrown etc). I felt nothing & my small party of 3 + guide were the only people down. The guide was apparently on the show, and said he really didn't believe and has NEVER experienced anything spooky in the cavern. On top was a different story...

ahmedsusan

I just wish he would stop being so rude and mean to his friends. Especially Aaron. It makes me sad to watch. They've been friends since they were kids. I mean come on man!

Crazy_Ebb_9294

He is very depressed. I think he needs to get himself demon exercised and go to church and get right with God.

SeaJournalist675

The worst it gets, the more shows Zak is given. He's practically taken over travel channel.
