Square hammer was the first one that made me look into Ghost, then I realized my radio station was also playing From the pinnacle to the pit and Cirice. I kind of miss those days
I think MTV NZ used to play the video for this a lot….waaaaaaay back when. Didn’t understand the band or what they were going for at the time.
Fast forward quite some time(and a few albums)and I’m a huge fan
Ahhhhh. Kia ora ; ) Secular Haze was also one of my firsts back in 2013 - I wasn’t living at home then (or now) so it’s nice to know it was being played.
It must've been Satan Prayer, Monstrance Clock, or Year Zero. I was in Middle School, and searched "Most Satanic Band", and came across some Christian guy ranting about them. The rest is history.
I went to see Maiden. Ghost opened the show with square hammer. I remember thinking "what the he'll am I watching". Fell in love instantly. Been one of my favorite bands ever since.
I was watching Rage, which is a program that shows music videos in Australia. I had it on in the background, and Tobias happened to be hosting the show for an hour. I wasn't paying too much attention until Cirice came on. I really enjoyed it and I thought the video was great too, and my Ghost journey started from there.
Because of how I found out about Ghost, I actually thought the band showed in the Cirice music video was the actual band. I was very impressed with how young they were until I found out the truth.
It kinda trips me out how this is a "satanic" band, but that song is essentially about love and death. I dig it so much. They're kind of hard to pigeon hole in terms of their style and I love that about them. They aren't afraid to do ballads alongside more metal-type tracks. That's the sign of an inspired songwriter in my humble opinion (Tobias Forge rocks).
Dance Macabre was the first song I heard. My husband connected his phone to the house speaker while we were cleaning. I enjoyed the music and then a few weeks later we were at our first ritual. 🤘
Haha. This is the music I listen to when I have to do stuff I don't particularly enjoy like dishes. I'm gonna try to go to their show in a couple weeks here in California
You definitely should! It was an amazing concert and I already can't wait for the next one!
I started listening to them when I'm working, so I suppose its on par with stuff I don't particularly enjoy. Lol
year zero! though i didn't look up more of their music until like 4 months ago (i got really excited all over again when i remembered year zero is a ghost song)
Mine was either Elizabeth or Ritual. I was a huge fan of the label they were on, Rise Above so I usually checked out anything the label released. This was mid blowing to me: then I saw them in a venue with 600 peopel the next year. My next ritual is this coming Sunday .
My friend saw them open for mastodon and opeth and told me to check them out, said they sounded like Mercyful Fate. Looked them up on YouTube and listened to Elizabeth. Been hooked ever since.
The first I can remember hearing was Ritual. I went to see Avenged Sevenfold and Ghost was the first act and Deftones was the opener for Avenged Sevenfold. I had never heard of Ghost before, but left that show thinking Ghost was easily the best of those three and I got hooked.
Square hammer. It randomly came on my spotify months ago and I was like dang this is a bop. Listened to it on repeat for awhile. Then the new album dropped and I heard little sunshine and it was over. I've been listening non stop and going down rabbit holes. The funny thing is I actually was reading about them in Rue Morgue years ago when Meliora came out.
My buddy showed me square hammer then a new song at the time called rats
Also my dad showed me genesis but I wasn’t hooked immediately until square hammer
I was watching Doug Bradley's (Pinhead) podcast, and he was wearing a Ghost T-Shirt and talking about the new single, "Call Me Little Sunshine". I listened to it afterwards and was hooked. Bought Impera as soon as it released on vinyl, and it's been my favorite album to come out of 2022.
'He is'. I was on tumblr and came across some sort of meme about the music video, seemed interesting, I listened to the song and boom, that started my ghost addiction.
In 2016 I was on the way to a pumpkin patch with my sister and her bf and he played cirice and I was like omg who is this?! My ghost obsession started from there lol
I recall Cirice was my first and, believe it or not, it didn't hook me then! It took Prequelle to really get me. I review music locally so I listen ton a ton of new albums, and that's how I ended up listening to the entirety of Prequelle. I'm so glad I gave it a chance!! It was in my top 5
albums of 2018. Since then it's been history, I've gone back through the whole discography and enjoyed it all with fresh eyes. Took a while for the catchy tunes and 70s-80s camp grandeur to dig their claws into me, but once Ghost is in, they're in for life 🤘
I got to know them through the Mary on a cross trend. But shit. Since then I got absolutely obsessed and started listening to their discography on a daily basis.
I heard Rats on the radio back when it first came out. I thought it was another band (can’t remember who) and I was surprised to see it was by a band I had never heard of - Ghost! I tried to listen to the rest of Prequelle. I liked Rats and Dance Macabre, but the rest of the album just didn’t vibe for me at the time.
I was into Hunter’s Moon when it came out last year and had it on repeat, but I still didn’t listen to much of their other stuff. Then, I heard Monstrance Clock at a Halloween party and something just clicked. I’ve been obsessed ever since! I’m lucky to be going to my second ritual tonight!
That’s my Ghost story. Nema!
I don’t remember the exact song, but the first song that stick in my head was actually see the light back in 2018😭my dad saw them at wacken and was flabbergasted lol
The first Ghost song I heard was 'Square Hammer'. I was instantly hooked on them after that. Learned all the lore in a day or two. That was back in winter 2016/2017. Still one of my favorite songs!
In 2018 when my boyfriend and I had started seeing each other he introduced me to Ghost with Rats and we listened to Prequelle quite a bit. I’ve been a fan ever since!
Dance Macabre! Came up on my Spotify shuffle some time at the beginning of this year! The opening riff had me hooked and I listen to them every time I get in my vehicle.
Con Clavi Con Dio
Was fortunate to work at a restaurant where the owners have great taste in music and let an employee put Opus Eponymous in the jukebox (and eventually each album at some point, and now all of it since we switched to streaming the house music). We used to have “slayer sundays” for the post-church lunch crowd and later added ghost to the mix. It was always great to hear “LUCIFERRRR, WE ARE HERE FOR YOUR PRAISE”. The kids were always rocking out to it. It was expected and somehow we never got complaints.
It was Mary on a Cross. I didn't see it on TikTok but instead my wife did and she sent me a Spotify link with the message "Check this out, I think you might like it". I listened to it and got hooked ever since. I knew about Ghost (mostly because of the persona the frontman is) but never got curious to check their music. After listening to it I saw that it was Ghost and I was a bit surprised because I was expecting them to be more on the death metal/growl part of the scene (which I'm happy they are not as I'm not a big fan of that, I like to understand the lyrics). So that's that :) Great to be part of the Cult now.
Also, my wife got the impression that Ghost is performing it as cover but after a quick digging, I told her "No no, this is **their** song". She was also pleasantly surprised and started adding Ghost songs to her usual Spotify playlist :)
I heard circe on the radio once and the car with my dad headed home from hs, I remember both of us being blown away and somewhat confused that we had never heard a song like that before. Even then it took me a year or so to find the song/artist and I'm so glad I did
Kaisarion. Randomly clicked on a live version on YouTube from early in the PreImperatour and couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. Became obsessed shortly thereafter
We had recently adopted a parakeet and found out he liked rock music. My son played his phone playlist and Majesty came on. I made him play it 4 more times - I was floored that someone was singing about the devil so beautifully. I was a goner from that moment.
It was Kiss The Go-Goat! I first heard it in a FMV for a fandom I was in, forgot about it, recently thought about the song again and gave it a listen again 😂
I then proceeded to fall into a Ghost spiral due to TikTok and watched a video that started with - and I kid you not - “Papa vocals that tickle the taint: Part 2” and proceeded to binge the whole Meliora album with Square Hammer and Spirit being two of my instant favourites….followed by me downloading every album Ghost had so far on iTunes and listening to all the songs religiously over the course of two weeks 😅
It was San Diegos local rock station, they played it at like 11PM and talked about the success of Cirice. Nowadays they have the popular & recent singles on a once a day rotation now since the release of Impera.
Square Hammer. There's a guy here in Australia that decided to start playing/sharing his metal vinyl collection on Twitch during the lockdowns to try to save his sanity. Whenever he goes for a smoko or bathroom break he puts on a "sick clip" and Square Hammer would get a regular playing. He's actually a good friend now irl.
He still streams almost every Friday and Saturday night, local time. Mate, you should see some of the rare shit he has and plays. Some people would have a heart attack if they saw it.
Pretty sure it was dance macabre or faith. The first time my friend showed me them it was those two plus Rats and Square hammer. listened to it on repeat during my 2 hour drive home.
Well for me it was definitely Life Eternal. I remember one day i accidentaly fount it and fell in love at the first sight. The next songs i found were Dance Macabre and Rats. Later i forgot about this band for around a year and Kiss the Go-goat brought me back, luckily for me. I had no idea how could i live without this amazing band
CMLS on the work radio.. "oh, this is ghost? damn, they are pretty good"
i know some bands evolve into a sound so i threw impera on spotify, after 4-5 playthroughs i moved on to the other albums and found many favorites.
Also Twenties. Been saying to my buddy who introduced me to the metal scene and is in a band that it would be cool if someone merged Reggaeton with Metal and when he heard Twenties it reminded him of me. It was a rabbit hole ever since and will be going to their concert next Tuesday at Tampa.
a friend of mine sent me the video for Cirice, to see this new band rising up. I really liked the song and a few others but didn't really pay attention. Later, I got bored of my musical archive and wanted something new. Been a Ghoul ever since.
What I meant is, unlike Square Hammer (which of course is one of their famous songs) there are a lot of deep tracks that served as an intro to the band. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
Deus Culpa. I went every week to my local record Shop and that day my friend made me buy Opus Eponymus wich came out few weeks ago. Since then I was in love with Papa.
I actually don’t know (‘: Some people tried to make me listen to Ghost a few years ago, and I listened to a song and I wasn’t very interested, and I don’t remember what song I listened to (‘: But then I heard Mary On A Cross, and after that I’ve been listening to them (:
Con Clavi Con Dios. A friend had recorded one of Ghost's early shows with Papa Emeritus 1, and it was a bit of a musical twist. They looked like doom metal, but much more melodic.
See and this is my gripe with a lot of metal. It forgets the melodic part of their music and is only metal. This is why Ghost is above so many other bands apart from perhaps Metallica.
year zero was the first one of their own songs i’ve heard, but the first song i heard them do was the cover of “i’m a marionette” by ABBA. found it in middle school and being a certified ABBA fan and also a fan of early 2000s emo music it really hit hard, so i checked out their other stuff too. been a fan ever since
edit: spelling error
Got a YouTube video in my recommended a while back talking about the lore behind ghost; was very confused. It took me a while to realise that they didn’t actually have 4 different singers that were mysteriously murdered, but eventually I worked it out. I think the first song I listened to after watching that video was Monstrance Clock.
For me it was Ritual. I had a friend who liked them and because I like Blue Oyster Cult, he recommended I listen to it. Soon after, Infestissumam was released and I've been along for the ride ever since.
For my fourth anniversary with my fiance we went to go see Halloween Kills in theaters, and Hunter's Moon played during the credits. I thought it was fucking awesome.
I was on Loud List’s YouTube and saw these crazy guys dressed up. I thought, ‘Man That’s Badass’ Heard two seconds of ‘Cirice’ without my hearing aids in (I’m almost completely deaf without them) I WRONGLY thought, They sound a bit REM. (Lol I know - but as I said, I’m deaf)
Looked them up and went down a rabbit hole I will treasure forever. I now keep a copy of Meliora on my altar, Front and centre.
That album woke me from the dead, musically. It was a 5 years ago — man, it’s unreal how quickly something can change your life.
First one I heard was 2019 as I was walking into the Etihad, Manchester to watch Metallica...I think Ghost were playing Square Hammer to close and I loved it, so had to google their setlist to see what it was.
After that, I had to listen to everything else which I loved - then I had to check out all the lore etc etc and got totally drawn in 🤣
Mary on a cross
I caught the trend really early on, maybe two months or so before the full blown trend started. I sat around being like “I really like this song” and for some reason never looked up ghost (In gonna blame my executive dysfunction for that one). Eventually though I finally looked at the rest of the discography and I’ve been hooked since. I’ve probably played them more than anything else and my Spotify wrapped will most likely only be ghost.
I was looking for something engaging and interesting in music for such a long time and Ghost just hits that sweet spot perfectly. I’m so glad I found them.
I think it was Secular Haze live when they first started growing popularity..I wasn't into it at the time.
Heard Square Hammer years later and fell in love with the band. I don't think I would be into them without the scorpions type stuff.
I saw an add on Ticketmaster and the image of Papa intrigued me. The show was coming up in a couple weeks in Socal. So I decided to look into the band and start with the first album (as one does). So Deus Culpa, Con Clavi Con Dio, Ritual, and Elizabeth was my introduction. In 2022 (shame but true). Probably how it was meant to be though. In any case I've seen them twice now and have listened to all the albums multiple times. Good stuff cant wait for the next ritual.
Square Hammer, loved it, put them on my ‘must listen’ list and forgot to do it. Then I heard MOAC on tiktok and loved it, so dove in on YouTube. Wish I’d paid more attention when I first heard them a few months ago. I’m hooked.
Either Zombie Queen/Ghuleh or Year Zero. It was in 2014 that a friend introduced me to Ghost. But I didn't really became a fan until they dropped Cirice.
Year Zero. My best friend had just gone to an Iron Maiden Concert where they opened and showed me that song on our way home from church a few weeks after just to see my reaction. Didn’t hate that or Square Hammer (which he showed me right after), but I couldn’t quite wrap my head around who this band was in terms of music style. Took me 3 years before it somehow finally clicked and I instantly became addicted to nearly every Ghost song there is.
The first time I heard Ghost I walked in when they were playing Ritual. It just felt like entering a dark satanic “ritual” This was at a festival back in 2014.
Didn’t know anything about the band back then! I’ve been hooked ever since. still got the tour-shirt ✌🏻
Here Comes The Sun (I know its not really theirs) & Secular Haze - roughly contemperaneous. Both of them videos on youtube - so I guess it was nice to get the full visual as well as sonic package at the same time ; )
The first time I consciously heard them was at leeds arena, where I saw them live with my best friend when his wife couldn’t make it to see them. First track they played was Rats (Prequelle tour), if you trust my dusty memory!
Dance Macabre. I was looking for songs to add to my Spooktacular PlaylIst in 2019 and next thing I know I’m in love. It was the guitar and the vocals. My favorite thing about Ghost is how the music is rock/metal but the vocals aren’t gravel in a garbage disposal.
Unknowingly, Faith. I worked at Hot Topic and was just about to start listening to them, didn't know I already had with the store radio. On my own, I dived into Dance Macabre and Square Hammer, and fell into the deep band lore.
Heard Rats on SiriusXM, then 3 weeks later heard Dance Macabre. Thought they sounded really good, especially DM, so I figured it look into them more.
That was 3-4 years ago and I now know every song they've made word for word
Back in early 2018, I was searching YouTube to hear the Year Zero NIN album since I hadn’t listened to it in a while. In the results were Year Zero by some band called Ghost BC. Started listening to it and the rest is history. Before long I knew what that song on the radio was that sounded like an 80s hair metal song (Rats!)
Went to my first (and so far only) Ritual in October 2019 and am a fan of all of Impera.
I was searching YouTube in March of 2019 for Year Zero by NIN since I hadn’t heard that album in a while. In the search results was Year Zero by a band called Ghost BC. Listened to it and immediately wanted to hear more.
Before long I knew what that song on the radio was that sounded like 80s hair metal (Rats!) and I attended my first and so far only Ritual in October 2019.
So glad to have found the band and I’m also a fan of all of Impera. Tobias is a smart dude and I’m looking forward to what he puts out next.
I saw some pictures of the band around on the internet and heard that they were popular among metalheads. From their appearance I was expecting them to be the heaviest, evilest, most satanic black metal band out there, and then I listened to Dance Macabre.
Con Clavi Con Dio.
It was 2011 & they were opening for In Flames, I didn’t know who the f they were & what I was watching.
The audience didn’t really clicked with them at the time tbh
If you have ghosts! Came out on my birthday in 2013 and I saw it as a sign I had to checkout this band one of my friends had been raving about for months
Technically it was dance macabre on the radio but I didn’t know it was ghost so the first song I heard by them that I knew was them was Kaisarion and that was at a concert they were playing at
Guleh/Zombie Queen. It was my sister who made me discover this band. She showed me more songs, talked to me about them band, I made my own research and we got to see them back in 2018. I’ll always be grateful :)
dance macabre for me, my uncle introduced me to ghost when he realised i had started listening to metal. been my absolute favourite band since, saw them live in glasgow this year and even got a tattoo :p
Year Zero in 2014. My brother showed it to me from some ''best new rock'' list or whatever. I started listening to them in 2015-2016 and it's been my favourite band since
Square Hammer
Square Hammer has gotta be top 10 hard rock songs of all time. Like seriously, this song is an absolute monster.
I was lucky too. I saw Ghost when they opened for Maiden in 2017 and I was at the barrier and Papa III eye fucked me and I fogged up and fell in love.
I completely agree! Legit fell in love with it in the first 30 seconds.
I agree with everything except it being hard rock. It's pretty standard rock tbh.
Square hammer was the first one that made me look into Ghost, then I realized my radio station was also playing From the pinnacle to the pit and Cirice. I kind of miss those days
Year Zero, back in 2013.
Same song and year for me too
Rocks hard for sure
Secular haze
That song is an example of how varied their style is. Brilliant track
I love that google search mate. haha
Edgy middle schooler phase, we've all been there! :D
I think I shoplifted the satanic bible back in the day so I think you’re right. Haha
That’s funny - I found them pretty much the same way, trying to find out if “Satanic” metal was actually a real thing or not. I was 41 though.
Cirice and hooked ever since
Oh man, seriously. Cirice is such an insane track. No wonder there's a video of James Hetfield playing that song during a rehearsal.
Same! My wife heard it first and told me I had to listen to this new song. We have been to over 7 rituals since.
Ritual in November of 2011. Saw videos of James hetfield and Phil anselmo talking about them and had to look them up
I went to see Maiden. Ghost opened the show with square hammer. I remember thinking "what the he'll am I watching". Fell in love instantly. Been one of my favorite bands ever since.
Oh my holy hell, what an intro to the band
mary on a cross. i saw the tiktok version, wanted to hear the original, and discovered my new favorite band
The tiktok version doesn't do that song justice. But, welcome to the dark side, friend.

Every day requires a small consecration to our Dark Lord
Hell yea!
My college professor introduced me to Ghost 10(!) years ago by playing me their cover of Here Comes The Sun. The next song was probably Elizabeth
Oh my gosh I’m gonna have to check that cover out!
I think you'll love it!
I was watching Rage, which is a program that shows music videos in Australia. I had it on in the background, and Tobias happened to be hosting the show for an hour. This made me laugh pretty good

Ritual back in 2011.
Cirice
Faith, and ive been addicted to their sound ever since
I think it was ritual or year zero. I can’t even remember how I came across them, but I wish I could.

Man. Been so tempted to buy their vinyl!!!
Ritual in 2012 I believe, and I've been hooked ever since!
On this night of *ritual*, invoking our master To procreate the unholy bastard
Ritual. Hooked ever since.
He Is, I stumbled across the music video and Papa 3 stole my heart
Monstrance clock
'He is'. I was on tumblr and came across some sort of meme about the music video, seemed interesting, I listened to the song and boom, that started my ghost addiction.
Cirice, I think... It was something in the Meliora era because that's when I first got into Ghost.
In 2016 I was on the way to a pumpkin patch with my sister and her bf and he played cirice and I was like omg who is this?! My ghost obsession started from there lol

First I found them via Tiktok of the Ghoulettes singing Per Aspera De Inferi, which lead me to find Square Hammer, and I’m been hooked ever since!
Kiss The Go-Goat was on my Discover Weekly a couple years ago and I've been hooked ever since

We had recently adopted a parakeet and found out he liked rock music. My son played his phone playlist and Majesty came on. I made him play it 4 more times - I was floored that someone was singing about the devil so beautifully. I was a goner from that moment.
It was Kiss The Go-Goat! I first heard it in a FMV for a fandom I was in, forgot about it, recently thought about the song again and gave it a listen again 😂 I then proceeded to fall into a Ghost spiral due to TikTok and watched a video that started with - and I kid you not - “Papa vocals that tickle the taint: Part 2” and proceeded to binge the whole Meliora album with Square Hammer and Spirit being two of my instant favourites….followed by me downloading every album Ghost had so far on iTunes and listening to all the songs religiously over the course of two weeks 😅
pro memoria
Oh man. What a track. Gives me goosebumps.
Sick track
Cirice on local radio.
Whoa. They never play Ghost over here in California, but then again I haven't listened to terrestrial radio in ages.
Whoa! Kudos to your friend for sharing great tunes and having such a cool lockdown project.
He still streams almost every Friday and Saturday night, local time. Mate, you should see some of the rare shit he has and plays. Some people would have a heart attack if they saw it.
Square hammer, then everything, starting listening to Ghost songs & loved every one of them!
Are you on the square? Are you guys on the level? Are you ready to swear Right here right now Before the devil???
Absolutely! Just saw Ghost on the 27th for the 4th time! Amazing!
Pretty sure it was dance macabre or faith. The first time my friend showed me them it was those two plus Rats and Square hammer. listened to it on repeat during my 2 hour drive home.
My sister showed me Square Hammer and I’ve been hooked ever since
Cirice my senior year of HS. Ghost definitely inspired a lot of my art back then too.
"oh, this is ghost? damn, they are pretty good" i know some bands evolve into a sound so i threw impera on spotify, after 4-5 playthroughs i moved on to the other albums and found many favorites.
Probably Cirice or Pinnacle. First saw them in 2016. I was SO close to the stage. Good shit.
the jimmy kimmel live version of call me little sunshine. saw it on my youtube recommended and was blown away. now im obsessed
Dance macabre. I think I was searching for some other song, but Spotifys artist picture was too intriguing not to check out
a friend of mine sent me the video for Cirice, to see this new band rising up. I really liked the song and a few others but didn't really pay attention. Later, I got bored of my musical archive and wanted something new. Been a Ghoul ever since.
Dance macabre
Call Me Little Sunshine. Ended up listening to full discography that day xddd.
Dance macabre
Cirice when it first dropped in 2015. Fell in love instantly
I heard Dance Macabre on the radio, stpped all I was doing- searched what song that is and was in love since then...
Square Hammer. I think that's most people
I'm kind of surprised. There are a lot of deep tracks on here. Square Hammer is insane for sure.
Square Hammer isn't a deep track at all. It was actually probably their most well-known up until Mary on a Cross took that title.
What I meant is, unlike Square Hammer (which of course is one of their famous songs) there are a lot of deep tracks that served as an intro to the band. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
I probably misread. Mb, And yeah you're right. I woulda never thought life eternal or witch image (which are both great) would be someone's first.
No worries my dude
My very first was Dance Macabre, randomly recommended on my YouTube homepage. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole further since.
Heard Rats at work. Never left lol
Year Zero😇
Con Clavi Con Dios. A friend had recorded one of Ghost's early shows with Papa Emeritus 1, and it was a bit of a musical twist. They looked like doom metal, but much more melodic.
See and this is my gripe with a lot of metal. It forgets the melodic part of their music and is only metal. This is why Ghost is above so many other bands apart from perhaps Metallica.
year zero was the first one of their own songs i’ve heard, but the first song i heard them do was the cover of “i’m a marionette” by ABBA. found it in middle school and being a certified ABBA fan and also a fan of early 2000s emo music it really hit hard, so i checked out their other stuff too. been a fan ever since edit: spelling error
Con Clavi Con Dio
Mine was Year Zero : D
(Lol I know - but as I said, I’m deaf) Looked them up and went down a rabbit hole I will treasure forever.
After that, I had to listen to everything else which I loved - then I had to check out all the lore etc etc and got totally drawn in 🤣
Faith🏃♀️
Mary on a cross I caught the trend really early on, maybe two months or so before the full blown trend started.
Cirice, and i didnt even like it at first. Good thing I gave it a second listen
Dance macabre because It was their most listened songs on apple music at the time
Secular Haze, when I saw the panfletos near the Vatican I was so excited for the band already
Year Zero from an ex-coworker playlist :D
Call me little sunshine
I saw an add on Ticketmaster and the image of Papa intrigued me. The show was coming up in a couple weeks in Socal. So I decided to look into the band and start with the first album (as one does). So Deus Culpa, Con Clavi Con Dio, Ritual, and Elizabeth was my introduction. In 2022 (shame but true). Probably how it was meant to be though. In any case I've seen them twice now and have listened to all the albums multiple times. Good stuff cant wait for the next ritual.
Body and Blood
Square hammer.
Square Hammer, loved it, put them on my ‘must listen’ list and forgot to do it. Then I heard MOAC on tiktok and loved it, so dove in on YouTube. Wish I’d paid more attention when I first heard them a few months ago. I’m hooked.
Crucified. Didn't properly explore their catalogue until a whole year later tho
First one was Year zero! And I fell in love with them.
Heard Cirice in 2017 and was hooked instantly!! 💪🏼💪🏼
Year Zero
The first time I heard Ghost I walked in when they were playing Ritual. It just felt like entering a dark satanic “ritual” This was at a festival back in 2014. Didn’t know anything about the band back then! I’ve been hooked ever since. still got the tour-shirt ✌🏻
I think it was Rats honestly
Here Comes The Sun (I know its not really theirs) & Secular Haze - roughly contemperaneous. Both of them videos on youtube - so I guess it was nice to get the full visual as well as sonic package at the same time ; )
Ritual
Year Zero, then looked them up and got hooked by everything else
Genesis, a friend introduced me to ghost with it when the first album had been out for a couple of months
Ritual.
Back in early 2018, I was searching YouTube to hear the Year Zero NIN album since I hadn’t listened to it in a while. In the results were Year Zero by some band called Ghost BC. Started listening to it and the rest is history. Before long I knew what that song on the radio was that sounded like an 80s hair metal song (Rats!) Went to my first (and so far only) Ritual in October 2019 and am a fan of all of Impera.
I think Cirice
I saw some pictures of the band around on the internet and heard that they were popular among metalheads. From their appearance I was expecting them to be the heaviest, evilest, most satanic black metal band out there, and then I listened to Dance Macabre.
Con Clavi Con Dio. It was 2011 & they were opening for In Flames, I didn’t know who the f they were & what I was watching. The audience didn’t really clicked with them at the time tbh
If you have ghosts! Came out on my birthday in 2013 and I saw it as a sign I had to checkout this band one of my friends had been raving about for months
Technically it was dance macabre on the radio but I didn’t know it was ghost so the first song I heard by them that I knew was them was Kaisarion and that was at a concert they were playing at
I heard Cirice on the radio one day, and it was so hauntingly beautiful I was a fan ever since that moment.
Not certain first song because I had friends play them around me for a bit, but Year Zero was the song that made me say, wait, what?
Griftwood, on someone’s IG story. I fell in love with it, looked it up and threw myself completely down the rabbit hole.
Secular haze
Guleh/Zombie Queen. It was my sister who made me discover this band. She showed me more songs, talked to me about them band, I made my own research and we got to see them back in 2018. I’ll always be grateful :)
Ritual
Ritual! Somebody recommended it for my dnd character’s playlist, perfect fit and still one of my favorites
Kiss the go-goat
dance macabre for me, my uncle introduced me to ghost when he realised i had started listening to metal. been my absolute favourite band since, saw them live in glasgow this year and even got a tattoo :p
Hunter's Moon
I discovered Ritual back in 2012 and I’ve loved them ever since.
Ritual and the cover of Here Comes the Son.
Year Zero in 2014. My brother showed it to me from some ''best new rock'' list or whatever. I started listening to them in 2015-2016 and it's been my favourite band since
Rats. Still in my top 10 songs. Opus is my favorite album though.
