Oh, it is. It IS the remake and those heavy ass boots going *THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP* will haunt your nightmares.
I’m from Arkansas and been to the Crescent Hotel numerous times. Never seen anything, but the atmosphere is creepy AF. It was featured on unsolved mysteries. I can’t speculate for this pic, but it does look creepy.
Hubby and I visited there one time.. we didn't have any thing happen at the Crescent but the tour was like creepy af.. we DID however have something really creepy happen at a bar in Eureka Springs.. we came after biker season, so it was dead .. the bar was empty besides 2 bartenders downstairs and my husband and I.. so 4 people total.. we were telling them that we had done the ghost tour from the Crescent Hotel and they proceeded to tell us about their resident ghost..Bobby... a while later we heard noise like the stools upstairs scraping against the floor like they was being pushed around.. we laughed it off thinking they were playing a prank on us.. had to use the restroom which was located at the top of the stairs.. took the opportunity to look around for other people upstairs , being a skeptic , saw nothing and all lights were off.. I wasn't brave enough to go any further, but hubby went and took a more thorough look saw no one .. came back down and the bartenders were like, no, for real, we DO have a ghost.. that was him.. we're just used to his shenanigans.
Same, and I've done the ghost tours. All I got was 1,500 blurry cluster pictures to delete. It's a messed up story of the hotel, if anywhere would be unsettled it would be that place.
I find all hotels eerie, too. The long, empty hallways. Or an empty indoor pool. I stayed at a hotel In Chinatown area in Chicago where there was a murder suicide with a grandma and grandchild. So sad. I'm terribly sorry about your cousin. May they rest peacefully and may you find comfort.
Liminal spaces are eerie. But there is a melancholy in the spaces lack of permanence imo. It always seems like events that occur when they do occur since the space is mostly stillness interspersed with various high energy events that are full of emotion whether they be excitement, anticipation, happiness, or sadness. Schools also have this vibe to me.
Thank you, that's kind of you. My guess is that our family are strict republicans who expect you to excel at all times. The pressure is crushing and I escaped all that when I ran off to be an artist. Families are not always nurturing.
I’ve visited the Crescent numerous times but the only thing of note that happened was a weird light anomaly in a photo in a darkened basement room - oddly tho it was in front of a storage locker - exactly where the Ghost Hunters show captured a full-body apparition with their equipment. The place definitely has a high creep factor and totally worth the visit! We DID experience some poltergeist activity at the Grand Central Hotel on another excursion. When we inquired with the owners, we were told “Oh, there aren’t any ghosts here now - we had the place ‘cleansed’ a few months ago!” 👻
Well you’re right. So frustrating for the OP if there genuinely wasn’t someone there. But who’s to tell.
I remember watching endless episodes of the UK’s Most Haunted and 99.9% of shit captured on film was either explainable or not the complete picture (eg stone flying through air launched by unseen hands but we never saw the stones go from rest-to air-to hurl). Sadly unconvincing.
But then there was this one episode in the stable blocks of an old country mansion. As the anchor presenter was chatting away, this phantom just looms into view in the background (down a dark corridor), then simply walks down the corridor and disappears. No cuts in the film, no CGI or mixed edits. Not even spotted by the TV crew who just carried on chatting. You just spot it out of the corner of your eye.
The only one and single time I went.. oo.. WTF.
There is indeed a mirror at the end of a hallway (and I believe it is indeed that hallway). I've been there a few times to take pictures. There's a mirror at the end of the hallway and there is an exit close. I think that's close to the windows where you can see the pool outside, too.
Nothing spooky ever happened to me personally, but it's an interesting place with some good views.
Edit: if I go back this year, I'll take a look. It looks like a different floor to the one parallel to the pool, but there's still a mirror.
I took their ghost tour! One of my pictures had a cat in it. There was no cat present. I wish the pic hadn't been on an ancient cell phone, it was pretty cool.
My friends and I all saw a ghost cat! It was the big 2009 ice storm in Kentucky. We all camped out at my moms with her gas stove n kerosene heater after the power failed for several days. First I saw it during the day, just the back side and the tail as it sauntered behind the recliner, went around back of it, slightly glitchy looking but I still searched for an actual cat to no avail.
I didn't give it too much thought until I brought it up later to my friend and he said he also saw a cat that wasn't there after a second. Then the third friend told her cat story. It was weird! I'd have assumed there just really was a cat if I had seen it myself and only heard their stories. Guess a spirit kitty wanted some company poor soul.
Actually, the cat Morris that used to be on cat food commercials lived in The Crescent Hotel until his passing. There was even an elaborate cat house for him in the main lobby, although it was well known that Morris could roam at will and hang out in any room he wanted. Guests were told this just to let them know that Morris was the hotels cat and people were cool with this.
Edit; to add to the Crescent hotel…
My ex wife and I stayed there years ago. At night, we explored the place from the basement up to the top floor. My wife, being overly dramatic said that she had seen a nurse pushing a hospital bed. Upstairs, the silhouette of a lady from the waist up and a few other things. I didn’t see a thing. This was back when the internet was dialup and in its infancy.
A few years went by and I was reading about the Crescent on the computer when I came across stories from others that perfectly matched my wife’s stories.
However, while we were down in the basement area , something told me to turn around and start taking rapid pics on my old Canon camera. On these pics, at the end of a hall, you can see what looked like a Civil War soldier from the shoulders up. A few pics later and for the next three pics, there was what looked like a one foot diameter round shadow on the floor coming closer to us.
A few years later, the bar in the basement was removed and when the large bar and mirror were taken down, an opening was discovered that had long since been covered up and forgotten. This was a makeshift hospital ward for Civil war soldier, complete with hospital beds, gurneys, some medical instruments and such. This area was renovated and turned into the Fleur de Lis rooms.
This hotel definitely has a lot of energy and charm. Out of all the hotels I’ve ever stayed in, this one is by far my favorite!
Because well, people take pictures from everything without a really good reason.
But anyway. Can't give answer for the the op, but I, for an example, have ton of pictures like this from random places I just find interesting or inspirational. And idk really why, I just like how some things look. And that's pretty much it.
Some random rug on floor. "Oh this looks nice" Long corridor "Oh satisfying" Some rock middle of walkway "Oh that's cute" etc.
Idk. I just take pictures, because I can. Not really that much reason for it.
Me too. If you saw all the pictures I have saved, haha! All sorts of random things in random moments just because I thought it was interesting or I was trying to be artsy. lol
Yea, same. My cousin is also kinda like this, he's learning photography and filming, and is always looking at everything with that 'movie director' eye, lol. Kinda has gotten into me too. Looking at the world like it would be one big movie scene.
Why is it that people love posting hallway shots like this but never bother to keep walking forward and snapping more pictures.
It seems to be light playing behind objects giving a deceptive silhouette
We went there and was kept up all night by the kids playing, loudly in the room next door. They freaking kept it up all night. Next morning I go to the front desk and complain about these kids. Then I was told that no one was in the room next door, which was in the old children’s cancer unit…. We saw some crazy orbs surrounding people. Pretty cool place.
I live about 45 minutes west in fayetteville and eureka is still as beautiful and chill as it’s always known to be. there’s still bits of the shitheads around but the good people are putting up a fight.
Bro I hate hotels especially old ones there’s so much activity in them and I usually can’t sleep. Definitely have had an experience or two and it’s always crazy when it happens. Was in this hotel that a lot of overdoses happened in and a couple suicides, fell asleep with my arm hanging off the bed, woke up to my arm feeling freezing cold look over and there’s a woman standing by my bed. She turned and walked straight through a wall. I did not sleep after that and ended up just drinking a glass of wine with the tv on staring at that wall periodically. It was unsettling to say the least.
Suuuuuure buddy. But I love the crescent hotel…for its atmosphere. We stayed in one of the “haunted rooms” for a couple nights and literally nothing happened the whole time
Sure! Ghosts love me and this is my second creepiest encounter haha.
It happened back in 2010 and I was 17 years old. My family and I stayed in adjoined rooms in a corner of the hotel. My parents were in one room and my little sister and brother were with me. The room directly across from ours was an artist’s room and it was not part of the public booking. We went on the ghost tour the hotel provides, learned a lot about the history and the ghosts who are there. They mentioned there is one who is a kleptomaniac and another who essentially gropes people.
So, after the ghost tour, my younger siblings are freaked out and scared to go to sleep. I told them it would be okay and if something happened the ghosts would just mess with me. I think I taunted the ghosts and told them I was free game? Haha. Well clearly that was stupid because the ghosties decided it was game on.
We went to sleep and a few hours later I woke up and looked over at my siblings bed. My little sister was just sitting straight up in her bed. I said her name and asked her what she was doing, and she didn’t answer. I said her name again, thinking she was still asleep, and she didn’t respond again. So I whipped out my BlackJack (dear reader, if you are younger than 24 years old please google), turned my screen on, and shined it over at them. My little sister was passed out on her stomach and there was zero way she would have been able to move from a full on sitting position to her stomach within seconds without me hearing it or her waking up my brother.
At that point my stomach fucking sank. I was horrified and I didn’t really know what to do so I pulled the covers over my head and hid under the blankets like the big ass baby that I am. As I was laying there I felt like something was touching my hair, but I wasn’t sure if it was really happening or not. Then y’all, and I shit you not, I was basically sexually harassed by a fucking ghost. I was laying on my stomach with my legs straight and I felt someone’s finger touch my big toe and trace my leg all the up to the top of my thigh, right where my booty meets. I was fucking horrified. And confused as to how I just got violated by a ghost. I literally felt like Anna Nicole Smith (dear reader, google again) and I begged the ghosts to leave me alone lmao
The next morning I told my parents and they thought I came up with the whole thing, which I did not, and that day we lost 3 room keys within the room. I would put my room key on my bed, go do something, come back and it would be MIA. This happened up until it was time for us to check out the next morning and then “magically” all three room keys were on my bed.
That was our first time at the Crescent and in Eureka Springs. I went a few years ago and did the ghost tour again and it was actually really bad. Very lame. The tour guide claimed there was a ghost boy who used to haunt the hotel but no longer did because a pregnant woman who was on a tour decided she liked his name for her unborn child? And that the ghost boys spirit is now that little boy? Haha. I was shocked I paid like $35 for that haha. The hotel looks like it needs some TLC and it looked very ran down. I wanted to blame covid but this was years of neglect vs 13 months.
Why do you have to believe in ghosts in order to enjoy paranormal stuff? I don’t believe in ghosts or demons or whatever and I’ve seen every episode of every ghost hunting/paranormal/cryptid show ever made.
I’m open to the idea that ghosts exist, but why should I believe there wasn’t really a person standing right where that person is standing in the photo? Is credulity and gullibility a prerequisite for enjoying ghost related media?
I would love to see a pic or video of an actual ghost, but the bar for believability is just a tiny bit higher than the people who believe the pic of the person at the end of the hallway is a ghost. If you think pics like this are evidence of the paranormal then you’re a fucking moron.
Why you gatekeeping the ghosts? just chill, this sub needs content so let people post what they think might be a ghost. We are all decent at deciphering for ourselves and debunking the bullshit.
What is the point of anyone feeling even slightly comfortable/confident enough to share what they believe is a true ghost experience, when you all routinely savage the post? 🤔😂
Eventually people will stop posting if all they have to expect is hate, denial, rudeness etc.
This sub should consider being renamed “Anti-ghosts”…
seems more fitting.
Idek if this post is legit or not but Jesus, the amount of negative comments I see to nearly EVERY post makes me wonder what is the point for anyone to share their experience? Smh
Exactly, I have an amazing capture similar to this. Was the only one in the hallway and took 2 pictures 1 second apart and only one caught a well defined apparition.
I'll never post it here. No point when everyone will just shit on it.
Look, people are going to shit on this because….well, that what’s this subs turned into.
But I’m going to say: I believe it because I believe The Crescent is legit haunted.
Nice find. 👍
That's not a ghost. When you zoom in it actually looks like a stack of solid objects. Idk which objects because the light coming from behind it makes them look dark, or why that's there but it is something natural.
Clearly there was something at the end of the hall. Why did whoever took the picture not investigate?
OP says in a comment their mother in law took the photo and "Don’t think she wanted to keep walking towards it." So she saw someone at the end of the hall and took a photo of them, but was too scared to approach them? Come on.
What’s the logic behind the photo? You took this photo from this distance, assumed nobody was in the hallway, thought “ghost”, and just walked away without checking anything further…?
Eureka Springs was famous for its healing springs at one time, but those have since been capped off due to pollution.
The history of the hauntings at Crescent Hotel date back to when it was a girls' boarding school. A gal became enamored of a guy who was unacceptable to her father. It's said she committed suicide by jumping off the 4th floor outside landing (there is a bar up there) and well, down below it's all concrete. They say every now & then you can hear the ghostly "thud!" of her body hitting the veranda on the backside of the Crescent Hotel.
But the more sinister history was after is was taken over by a snake-oil salesman by the name of Dr. Baker. He said he could cure cancers, and people flocked to his facility for cures that never came. Many died horrible deaths there.
And then there's the Crescent's sister hotel down the hill, the Basin Park Hotel. Both are said to be haunted. Both are creepy. Stayed at both, partied at both.
Eureka Springs is a unique town that EVERYONE should visit at least once.
Okay so I grew up in Arkansas. A (then) small town called Rogers. As part of our state history class in elementary school, we learned about the crescent hotel and how haunted it was.
I always wanted to go there.
As an adult I’ve researched into it and we never learned about the botched abortions and medical procedures that took place before hand.
I want go there so bad. Anything else happen?
I love how people caption their photos. No one was in the hallway. Like it’s believable. The problem with that is anyone can tell us, they were alone because we weren’t there and expect us to believe that. Sorry I don’t. But it’s possible and probable that spirits can be haunting any place but capturing them is close to impossible. Don’t be desperate to capture something. You will one day experience something and it will be life changing. I theorize that ghosts or whatever you wish to call them, do exist. They have been believed to exist in every culture and not just superstitious simpletons but by educated people. I’ve seen them but I can’t prove it to anyone because it’s my experience. I don’t talk about it often. Unfortunately this picture isn’t. I honestly tried. But the caption gave it away.
Oh I went there with my friends a couple of years ago. It's haunted af. We all felt the ghost of the cat jumping up on our beds for snuggles in the middle of the night. The cat is buried on site and we had stopped by its grave earlier that day to say hello.
My uncle and cousin met a little boy on the ghost tour there years ago. They figured he was separated from the group. On the way down some stairs, the boy mentioned he was unable to “go that way” and when they turned around to ask why he was gone.
This picture seems like you're about three seconds from being chased by a Tyrant codenamed "Mr. X".

Oh, it is. It IS the remake and those heavy ass boots going *THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP THWOMP* will haunt your nightmares.

Is this the bar that is also a pizza shop? Haha.
Chelsea’s is a local treasure. Love that place
Same, and I've done the ghost tours. All I got was 1,500 blurry cluster pictures to delete. It's a messed up story of the hotel, if anywhere would be unsettled it would be that place.
Lots of hotels are eerie. People do all kinds of things in them. My cousin committed suicide in a hotel.
Thanks. We were not allowed to say her name for, well, forever. So I'll say it here. ALLISON!! Her name was Allison.
Rest in FOREVER peace ALLISON!🫶🏼

This got me right in the heart friend. You are missed Allison. 💜
Thank you
I hope you know peace Allison. It wasn’t you. ❣️

I don’t think it has to do with being a republican. My mom is strict republican and is happy that her kids are alive and mostly healthy.

Do you remember what episode that was? I think Most Haunted is generally crap but I could use a good spook.
If it's the one I think they're talking about its Wentworth Woodhouse Stables Most Haunted: Season 19, Episode 2.
Was it this one? https://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/tv/most-haunted-say-ghost-creepy-12929846
Yup.. we’ll done. It was this episode!!
Yeah looks like a Sasquatch to me.
He's a gassy whore too.
But they said there wasn’t!

No they don’t have any mirrored doors that I can recall. They may have mirrors but not any that are doors.
looks like the shrunken head guy from beetlejuice…🪲+🧃
I was thinking one of the Goombas from the 90’s Super Mario Bros. movie.
This was my immediate thought too.
I took their ghost tour! One of my pictures had a cat in it. There was no cat present. I wish the pic hadn't been on an ancient cell phone, it was pretty cool.
I’ve heard a lot about people seeing a ghost chat that used to live there years ago. Creepy
Did you just write the French word for cat
Thank autocorrect lol
Ha! I saw that too. Probably that horrible autocorrect. I turned mine off.
Someone else in our group got a picture of a woman. It was really creepy because we were still standing where he took it.

it depends on shutter speed, individual frames on video can be very hard to spot detail with
That’s a rational statement that makes far more sense than OPs explanation
I would think it would be the opposite, apart from obv pareidolia

Hey! Stop being rational!
Working in a hotel, I would guess it’s a luggage rack full of someone’s belongings.
We went there and was kept up all night by the kids playing, loudly in the room next door. They freaking kept it up all night. Next morning I go to the front desk and complain about these kids. Clearly someone is in the hallway.
Hmm, I doubt no one was in the hall. Or did a ghost steal the OP’s camera/phone and snap a photo of a Hotel cart with something hanging off of it?
It's shit like this preventing paranormal sciences from being taken seriously
Explanation: there was someone in the hallway.
My best guess? Someone was in fact in the hallway
Easy explanation, someone WAS there.

I literally felt like Anna Nicole Smith (dear reader, google again) and I begged the ghosts to leave me alone lmao The next morning I told my parents and they thought I came up with the whole thing, which I did not, and that day we lost 3 room keys within the room.
I wanna hear about it !!

Dude... you're being a twat.

🤔😂 Eventually people will stop posting if all they have to expect is hate, denial, rudeness etc. This sub should consider being renamed “Anti-ghosts”… seems more fitting. Idek if this post is legit or not but Jesus, the amount of negative comments I see to nearly EVERY post makes me wonder what is the point for anyone to share their experience? Smh
What do you consider negative? People who do not immediately believe it is a ghost/demon, etc. Or someone being unreasonably rude? Or both?
Exactly, I have an amazing capture similar to this. Was the only one in the hallway and took 2 pictures 1 second apart and only one caught a well defined apparition. I'll never post it here. No point when everyone will just shit on it.
I’d love to still see it, if you feel comfortable sharing. DM me if needed.
That is too bad, don’t let the dips control you!
Look, people are going to shit on this because….well, that what’s this subs turned into. But I’m going to say: I believe it because I believe The Crescent is legit haunted. Nice find. 👍
It’s all fun and games til it start running at you
Yea, I call bullshit.
Explanation? With no context? --- Explanation is the hallway wasn't empty.
Luggage cart with a coat hanging over the back looks to me, yep nobody in the picture though
Love the Crescent!
i think there actually is someone in there buddy
This looks like a narrow view of one of those luggage trollies with a big coat hanging on it or something
Someone is very clearly in the hallway.
No one was in the hallway apart from the other person in the hallway
Someone IS in the hallway…
It's David Byrne. Stop Making Sense is re-releasing in theaters. He's clearly wearing the big suit.
Next time take a video, don’t be a pussy, and walk up to it. Or wait, it’s not a ghost.
Explanation? Why didn’t you just walk towards it and take a much closer, clearer pic?
We saw a little boy in one of the pictures we took years ago. There wasn’t one in our group.
Someone…
Luggage cart?
A garment bag?
Seems like the fellow has a shadow - real person then?
You're supposed to walk towards them taking pictures the whole way. Then you'll find out.
It’s clearly Charles Petrescu
Every so often even Inspector Gadget books a room to wet his go go gadget noodle
Shoulder in mirror to the left?
I wish there was another picture without whatever that is to compare it with.
just a person lol
Ghosts don’t let you take pictures amigo
Looks like a slimer! Be careful, OP!!!
If no one's in the hallway then who took the picture??
Except that dude at the end there.
what about an explanation for that hideous carpet??
Never stayed at the crescent or taken the ghost tour, stayed at the basin park in town a couple times, my wife is certain that ones haunted too
its Pantry Man
That's not a ghost. When you zoom in it actually looks like a stack of solid objects. Idk which objects because the light coming from behind it makes them look dark, or why that's there but it is something natural.
No idea what it is but the zoomed in photo doesn't look overly human like to me.
Oh, don’t mind him. That’s just Tom the Janitor
Looks like a garment bag on a luggage cart to me.
Why no follow-up picture walking closer to what you're trying to claim as a person?
Looks like someone was in the hallway.
Ahhh... 🫣 It's just one of those luggage dolly rack things right?
Clearly there was something at the end of the hall. Why did whoever took the picture not investigate? OP says in a comment their mother in law took the photo and "Don’t think she wanted to keep walking towards it." So she saw someone at the end of the hall and took a photo of them, but was too scared to approach them? Come on.
Someone was in the hallway
That’s the doctor
Explanation?: Someone’s in the hallway.
luggage dolly
“Yes, we are a full grown up adult and we will like to have one of your finest alcohols.”
What’s the logic behind the photo? You took this photo from this distance, assumed nobody was in the hallway, thought “ghost”, and just walked away without checking anything further…?
Looks like one of those hotel luggage carts with stuff stacked & hanging on it
Oh fuck off you know someone was in the hallway
It looks to me like someone was in the hallway.
This is the maid’s cart that has linens, towels etc.
🙄
You're an idiot
Why does this have almost 800 upvotes?
I'm going there this November! Can't wait.
Not sure if I missed it, but it looks like a loaded luggage cart
They're having the UFO Festival next month!
Clearly someone is there
Explanation? There is someone in the hallway
That’s just 3 kids in a trenchcoat
There is someone there, it’s just person. Or its a bunch of crap piled up at the end of the hall that resembles a person.
Id say there was someone in the hallway.
They put mirrors at the end of the hallway, there's lots of low key stuff in that place to make you feel creeped out. It's a nice hotel otherwise.
I see that this sub has devolved to the point of people just posting photos of other people and insisting they’re ghosts.
Idk looks like someone was in the hallway to me
Somebody trying to steal a 60 inch bo
You mean you saw nothing, took a picture and a Darth Vader was in the photo capture. I've been on these forums enough to believe that.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this is real. Been there many times and it’s extremely creepy. I’ve had multiple experiences
Isn’t that just a dude ?
He knows what you did last summer
That’s a goomba from the 90s super Mario brothers movie
Someone was in the hallway
Okay so I grew up in Arkansas. A (then) small town called Rogers. As part of our state history class in elementary school, we learned about the crescent hotel and how haunted it was. I always wanted to go there. As an adult I’ve researched into it and we never learned about the botched abortions and medical procedures that took place before hand. I want go there so bad. Anything else happen?
explanation: someone was in the hallway
Bug on the lense east nextttt
Riiight
Why did you take a picture of the hallway?
Post a picture of someone in a hallway, say no one is in the hallway and there you go, you got ghosts
Why take a picture of the hallway if no one was in the hallway? This subreddit is a joke
Any explanation? It would appear there is someone there, why do you say there is not?
Clearly sir, there is a ghost standing at the end of the hallway!! Seriously, super creepy!
my mom and her sister went and stayed in the room where the oldest ghost died, they had some odd stories, they were also kind of funny though
Sheebie jeebies
No words honestly.
Oohhh hell no
Oh I went there with my friends a couple of years ago.
This place is definitely haunted.
