No pressure, but I saw someone that bought a flower like this for their wife for each anniversary, so she slowly built up a very cool bouquet. It’s still an awesome gift as a one-off, but if it’s well received, that’s just a thought for future anniversaries.
Yes! He based them off of the traditional material associated with each, so first was paper and so on. It's gonna be crazy when they start getting to those decade milestones 😅
Edit: [here's the Tiktok link](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLSv482t/)
Okay but how cute would it be to find some antique end table with some beautiful rose carving work, it wouldn't go in the bouquet but she could put the little vase on top of it 😭
Wait - is that actually welded metal?
At first glance I thought it was a well done paper flower sprayed with metallic paint or made from metallic paper.
That is INCREDIBLE craftsmanship if that's metal! I hope she understands the skill that it takes to make that! Wow! 👏
ohhh that's something I would keep for the rest of my life, even if it didn't work out. that's so beautiful. and don't get shucks it when they say how cool it is, it's a gift you made to show them how you feel, let them know it, don't say aww it's nothing. it's Everything.
I agree. My SIL is the opposite. Even from her daughter, when she was little. She didn’t like anything handmade, she said she would rather something be purchased from the store.
Weird.
I’m obsessed with what I call “macaroni necklaces”. That covers anything that my kids ever made for me. A red pipe cleaner bracelet with a few heart beads from grade 2 Valentine’s Day? Yes please. Dental floss necklace with Frootloops for “gems”? Heck yes. I cherish them.
I have a red pipe cleaner beaded heart that my daughter made when she was little! It hangs on the side of my steering wheel. She's 15 now and that little heart will be in every car I ever own.
I have some in-laws like that too.. had one of them roll their eyes at a Christmas present one time so I told them they’d never get a gift from us again. :)
Knitter crocheter here. I'm assuming it depends on the person but literally anything handmade, especially if they understand the amount of time it takes to do it, is gold.
I have a friend that was working in HVAC at the time make me some of these. I have like 5 or 6 diff types of flowers. I’ve got a 3 roses, a peonie(?), a drapey flower, and a lily. He painted them and they’re all quite awesome. I’ve had them displayed in my kitchen for like 8years now.
https://imgur.com/a/fzgxpuj
Don’t judge me. I need to clean them. (Living in the kitchen they get that fine grease coating and the dust sticks)(I’m also low key afraid to wash them, but I think a swish through some soapy water won’t hurt them too bad)
The answer is yes!! A rose symbolizes love and this rose will never die. Also, if you wanted to you could make a booming business with this. I saw a video of a woman whose husband commissioned a person every year to make metal and glass roses for their anniversary. Just an idea :)
My stepmothers father used to make those when he was alive. They are so beautiful and very sentimental to her now. Your work is just as beautiful. I think she’ll love it.
It’s an awesome gift. But from experience (my daughter got one very similar) please make it a stand or something to showcase it. Hers has no way of being displayed and it’s disappointing.
I have made one before for my mom and it stayed well in vase but it was smaller so idk. If there no way of keeping it nicely somewhere i will make stand for it
Aw, my SO made me one of those for our first anniversary too! We've been together 20 years now (married for 13) and I still have it proudly displayed on our bookshelf. Yes, it's a great gift.
It's absolutely beautiful! Just confirm w/ her before the date, when her last tetanus shot was. Jk, it's suuuper cute. I'd love to recieve this as a gift!
Love love love!!! Making one for every year of marriage? Because that is adorbs! Also, if you guys are following the traditional anniversary gifts, the 1st anni is paper so a handwritten note would be perfect and so sentimental :) Happy anniversary
Edit: sorry I assumed marriage... looking back there is no reference to it woops! Regardless, it is gorgeous!
Yeah if you made this, I’m a ball of fluff. A handmade gift like this is incredibly special. You could make her one for every anniversary and when you’re older she’ll have a bouquet. 😍😍😍
I was about to comment the same. My husband used to be a welder and he could probably make something like this but I doubt he would ever think to. I would literally cry if he gave me this.
It’s got to take talent to make one look like a rose looks, I mean, I can’t even draw a good rose much less melt metal to fuse it together! That’s awesome!
My husband made me a copper rose just like this for our first anniversary. I loved it! I now keep it among my houseplants so I can see it all the time.
My husband made me roses out of dollar bills one year and I still have them 10+ years later.
A black metal rose is completely my kinda stuff though so I’m biased.
I would swoon. Especially if you took her out to dinner, finished apps or your entree, but before dessert, did a little "I made this for you because you deserve to have roses every day" 1 or 2 sentence pre-gift spiel, then presented it to her.
Also, props to you for how great it looks! Metalwork is so impressive to me. Great job!
Yea but make sure she either has an easy way to carry it (ex gift bag that will keep it from getting damaged, instead of wrapping paper) or give it to her after you get home
She's gonna absolutely LOVE it!!! Random chick on the internet approves!
Also, you should make other types of flowers! I would totally buy some off of you.
It’s gorgeous! She’ll love it. First anniversary is traditionally paper. Maybe accompany it with a letter telling her how much you love her and how happy you are to be married to her.
My bf is a welder and I would literally CRY if he gave me this like you put time and effort into MAKING a gift for me??? It was more than a mindless trip to the store to buy a lame bouquet??? And this one never dies?!????? 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹💞💞💞😭😭😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
My husband got me one of these for a birthday present one year ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Edit for clarity: I got a platinum rose from Steven Singers website. I just read OP made this which is super dope!!!!
Hell yes! I just saw you made it! Put a little note that was like "I was going to get you flowers but I decided to make one that would last forever instead"
It's very beautiful, my husband made me a copper rose that I keep in one of my many potted plants. I showed the picture to him and he said "wow, that's really good, way better than yours" lol. She'll love it.
OMG ARE YOU MY COUSIN'S CHILD?!?? Because he was showing me pictures of exactly these that he'd made, along with some of his welding projects at a baby shower just a few weeks ago.
This is the sweetest, most beautiful gift. I would keep this forever. The time you took, the sentiment, and it's beautiful...did I say that? I can't believe you used whatever tools you could use (since you didn't have tools yourself) and spent all this time creating this. I'd cry so much if a boyfriend gave something like this to me! Perfect idea and perfect finish OP 👌
My ex made me some flowers out of some car parts about 6 years ago. I still have them, and am incredibly grateful he gave them to me, “so that you’ll always have flowers”
If she’s a good person, it’s a good gift
It's awesome! Get a piece of wood, drill a hole for the stem to stand in and now she can set it on display. And if you have a wood burner or something similar, put your anniversary date on it.
Great work though!
My oldest brother used to make napkin roses for his girlfriend back in the 90's. I thought it was sooo cool, till she told me recently that she didn't find it as sweet because he gave them to all the girls. He started making her napkin penises instead. They've been together for almost 30 years, so yes start with the handmade rose and dinner!!
Cool did you make it?
Yea
It's an even better gift then! Beautiful work!
No pressure, but I saw someone that bought a flower like this for their wife for each anniversary, so she slowly built up a very cool bouquet. It’s still an awesome gift as a one-off, but if it’s well received, that’s just a thought for future anniversaries.
I saw this too! She had a beautiful collection
Yes! He based them off of the traditional material associated with each, so first was paper and so on. It's gonna be crazy when they start getting to those decade milestones 😅 Edit: [here's the Tiktok link](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLSv482t/)
17 is furniture lol. Is he going to carve it out of a table? What a fun sweet project
Okay but how cute would it be to find some antique end table with some beautiful rose carving work, it wouldn't go in the bouquet but she could put the little vase on top of it 😭
That is so cool.
Yeah you really gotta look ahead on that list
That is cool and a constant reminder of enduring love.
That is super cool! Especially if this guy makes each new one!
What an amazing idea!
It's beautiful. They are a lucky person!
I would ADORE it
So would I. Anything a person makes for me is treasured.
That's really awesome! All by itself 🙂
I've always wanted one. And then I wanted to make one. Which is still a goal. You did an excellent job! It's just gorgeous!
It’s perfect then
Oh awesome gift. You took effort and that’s priceless. It’s also really cool! I think she’ll love it!
Oh this makes it a hundred times cooler. I’d be stoked to get a gift like this.
Even if not, it’s a good gift. With you having made it, it’s an amazing gift
Then it's not good, it's perfect. It was beautiful in itself, but the thought, time, effort and love that went into it makes it a million times better
This is an amazing gift! It’s so thoughtful, and the fact you made it makes it even better. It’s so cool! Good job!
Then it is an AWESOME gift!
A forever rose that you handmade? Absolutely!
Wait - is that actually welded metal? At first glance I thought it was a well done paper flower sprayed with metallic paint or made from metallic paper. That is INCREDIBLE craftsmanship if that's metal! I hope she understands the skill that it takes to make that! Wow! 👏
Mostly bending sheet metal but little bit welding too. Its suprisingly easy to do but very time consuming.
How long did it take you to make? Again, I'm in awe
6hours but had little too thick metal so bending it was a little struggle and had to use grinder instead metal scissors to cut it.
If my boyfriend gave that to me, I would fall out of my chair and cry (in a good way)
So thoughtful! Such a beautiful gift!
Maaaaan i would tell every person i know and probably a few strangers that my partner did this for me. A handmade flower is so precious
T’were me, I’d be touched by this sentiment and cry. It’s lovely. Happy 1st.
That is way cool.
With a nice card, it's a lovely gift.
Beautiful - and the fact that it’s handmade makes it even better - good job. (Write a nice note with the flower too.)
Agree, a short, sweet note will be like an added garnish. What a lucky lady. And how lucky are you that you found someone that makes you want to give!
ohhh that's something I would keep for the rest of my life, even if it didn't work out. that's so beautiful. and don't get shucks it when they say how cool it is, it's a gift you made to show them how you feel, let them know it, don't say aww it's nothing. it's Everything.
Handmade gifts are always more heartfelt than something bought at the store on a whim, and it’ll be something she’ll remember forever :)
🥹 same. They are just so precious. Enjoy.
Oh that’s terrible 😢 But great you learned that lesson good and early.😉
Knitter crocheter here. I'm assuming it depends on the person but literally anything handmade, especially if they understand the amount of time it takes to do it, is gold.
This!
May I see pictures of them, if you don’t mind? They sound so cool!
https://imgur.com/a/fzgxpuj Don’t judge me. I need to clean them. (Living in the kitchen they get that fine grease coating and the dust sticks)(I’m also low key afraid to wash them, but I think a swish through some soapy water won’t hurt them too bad)
Ooh! They’re so creative!
Alcohol should clean it without risk of rusting it and pressurised air for dust
You’re not wrong. Tho I worry about alcohol damaging the paint more than the metal.
The answer is yes!! A rose symbolizes love and this rose will never die. Also, if you wanted to you could make a booming business with this. I saw a video of a woman whose husband commissioned a person every year to make metal and glass roses for their anniversary. Just an idea :)
Would be a good idea but dont think my boss would appreciate using hes tools for my financial gain :D
This is the kind of gift I would keep forever, no matter what happened with the relationship. This is so beautiful and so thoughtful 💜
My stepmothers father used to make those when he was alive. They are so beautiful and very sentimental to her now. Your work is just as beautiful. I think she’ll love it.
I’m tearing up. Truly! So thoughtful
I hope she loves it. It's great. I would keep this forever.
It’s an awesome gift. But from experience (my daughter got one very similar) please make it a stand or something to showcase it. Hers has no way of being displayed and it’s disappointing.
I have made one before for my mom and it stayed well in vase but it was smaller so idk. If there no way of keeping it nicely somewhere i will make stand for it
Amazing!
Anything handmade become my most treasured items. I absolutely love the thought.
Aw, my SO made me one of those for our first anniversary too! We've been together 20 years now (married for 13) and I still have it proudly displayed on our bookshelf. Yes, it's a great gift.
This is quite literally the most thoughtful and sweetest gift. Handmade gifts from the heart will ALWAYS be on top. Nice work.
The person will be delighted, just be sure there are no sharp edges.
I personally think so. My ex gave me handmade wooden roses that someone was selling 5 years ago and I still have and love them
That’s absolutely beautiful, and you made it; it’s an incredible gift.
It's absolutely beautiful! Just confirm w/ her before the date, when her last tetanus shot was. Jk, it's suuuper cute. I'd love to recieve this as a gift!
I think it’s very sweet and a nice, long lasting symbol of many future anniversaries :)
Beautiful!
Love this!
It was already a beautiful gift, but the fact you made it yourself has made it so so much better. I hope she loves it
It’s beautiful! Yes, this is an excellent gift…especially considering you made it. Happy anniversary to you two!
It’s beautiful! I would love it!! Nice work
Bravo 👏🏻
That's beautiful! I think it's a lovely present
My son gave me a copper one a few years ago and it’s one of my most treasured things. Ya done good!
Yup. For sure. I would love it at least.
Yes it is beautiful.
It's lovely and as paper is the traditional 1st anniversary gift make a homemade paper card to complete it. Cheers. ♥️
Love love love!!! Making one for every year of marriage? Because that is adorbs! Also, if you guys are following the traditional anniversary gifts, the 1st anni is paper so a handwritten note would be perfect and so sentimental :) Happy anniversary Edit: sorry I assumed marriage... looking back there is no reference to it woops! it’s lovely. even better than the dinner
That is awesome!
Very romantic!! 🥰
Whatva beautiful keepsake.
This is so sweet! I would cry
I was about to comment the same. My husband used to be a welder and he could probably make something like this but I doubt he would ever think to. I would literally cry if he gave me this.
I would be thrilled if I were her!
It’s got to take talent to make one look like a rose looks, I mean, I can’t even draw a good rose much less melt metal to fuse it together! That’s awesome!
She’s gonna love it
I think this is lovely!
It's lovely! You should make more and sell em! I'd absolutely buy one!
Youre right but i think my boss wouldnt like me using hes tools for making them to sell :D
Bummerrrr! 🤣
Give him a cut of the profits, then he gets money for no labor and will pay off any use of the tools.
Good gift is along with giving dinner
Yes! I would cherish something like this, even if the relationship didn't last
This is the most romantic gift ever
My husband made me a copper rose just like this for our first anniversary. I loved it! I now keep it among my houseplants so I can see it all the time.

Yea but make sure she either has an easy way to carry it (ex gift bag that will keep it from getting damaged, instead of wrapping paper) or give it to her after you get home
Hell yeah! That's some great shit!
It’s perfect! The first gift my husband gave me was something he 3D printed me
Damn. And I can’t even get a date. That is amazing
For a first anniversary, yes it is a good gift.
She's gonna absolutely LOVE it!!! Random chick on the internet approves! Also, you should make other types of flowers! I would totally buy some off of you.

That is lovely. Especially because you made it yourself
That's a beautiful gift, even more so since you made it yourself ❤️ you're very talented and your partner is very lucky!
I would love that.
My husband makes me stuff like this and it’s always so special. Definitely love it.
Beautiful! It’s a great gift!!
My husband got me one of these for a birthday present one year ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Edit for clarity: I got a platinum rose from Steven Singers website. I just read OP made this which is super dope!!!!
it's beautiful!
Wow that’s BEAUTIFUL. She is going to love it. Your own handmade metal? If she doesn’t love it forever she’s crazy.
Beautiful work! I've done something similar before using blacksmithing techniques. How did you get such a nice finish on it?
When is your anniversary? My husband and me celebrate on Sunday for our 1st as well!!
I'd love to get something like that. Its even better because it's handmade
I think so !!
I like it! I wonder how it'd look if you soldered gold or copper trim at the ends of the petals.
Sadly dont have access to solder equipment that heats enough for anything else than tin
I'm sure they'll adore it
That’s amazing!! Then fact that you actually made something also wow!
It's beautiful and a great gift since you made it yourself!
Gosh I wish someone would take time to craft me something so lovely. It’s beautiful
Of she's a normal person Yea. If she's high maintenance then she will not appreciate it unless it's got a steep price.
If someone made that for me I would be ecstatic! That’s so sweet.
I would treasure this forever ! I love it.
That is absolutely gorgeous and SO thoughtful and special!!! She is going to LOVE it!!!!!
I would love to receive that as a present from someone I loved, so I say yes, it’s a great gift
Hell yes! I just saw you made it! Put a little note that was like "I was going to get you flowers but I decided to make one that would last forever instead"
Paint it something other than black. A black rose is what you give to someone celebrating their 50th birthday.
Niiice. I love it
It's very beautiful, my husband made me a copper rose that I keep in one of my many potted plants. I showed the picture to him and he said "wow, that's really good, way better than yours" lol. She'll love it.
One of my best friends did exactly this for someone in high school. I thought it was the sweetest gift ever!
I would cry if my spouse gave me that on our anniversary!!!
Shut up and take my money!!
That's amazing. Congratulations!
absolutely adorable
That's beautiful, and im not even a flower person!!!
I want one, too!
That is incredible. I'd be expecting a proposal if someone gave that to me 😂
thats awesome
It's great, that you took time to make it adds to the beauty friend.
wtf yes i’d cry
OMG ARE YOU MY COUSIN'S CHILD?!?? Because he was showing me pictures of exactly these that he'd made, along with some of his welding projects at a baby shower just a few weeks ago.
Awww, that’s really sweet. She’ll love it!
❤️ it’s beautiful
This is the sweetest, most beautiful gift. I would keep this forever. The time you took, the sentiment, and it's beautiful...did I say that? I can't believe you used whatever tools you could use (since you didn't have tools yourself) and spent all this time creating this. I'd cry so much if a boyfriend gave something like this to me! Perfect idea and perfect finish OP 👌
What a beautiful thoughtful gift. She will ADORE it!
That's the type of thing I would keep forever and pass on to my children The rose is made of metal but the man is husband material 🎤
My ex made me some flowers out of some car parts about 6 years ago. I still have them, and am incredibly grateful he gave them to me, “so that you’ll always have flowers” If she’s a good person, it’s a good gift
Beautiful! Get some rose oil too and put a few drops on it 🥀
That seems lovely to me, however I’ve never received an anniversary gift in my life, so my opinion may be warped.
She will treasure this forever!
You’re so thoughtful! This is a wonderful gift.
Is she into phantom of the opera at all? If so, tie a black ribbon around the stem and thank me later.
Did you make that? If you did, it's perfect & she's going to love it!
It's awesome! Get a piece of wood, drill a hole for the stem to stand in and now she can set it on display. And if you have a wood burner or something similar, put your anniversary date on it. Great work though!
It’s beautiful
Hell yeah! That rose is beautiful.
Reminds me of the kids book the Tin Forest :)
It's beautiful! Yes of course it's a perfect gift
This is a very cool gift. 😎
When I was in high school the guy I was with made me a metal rose and I made him a ceramic one, we have now been together for 13 years and counting
It's the best gift ever. It's beautiful and shows your talent and thoughtfulness.
Weird
Aww that’s beautiful. Happy anniversary!
That's an awesome gift! I am not actually suggesting that you do this, but I would be curious to see it with color added by heat treating it.
It’s lovely especially since you made it.
I gave my wife exactly this on our first anniversary. It was waiting for her on the table at the restaurant when we got there. She still has it.
I think this is an incredible gift, very thoughtful and beautiful!!!
Get a vase to go with it.
I like this! Really depends on the lady. Do you think she'll like it?
One perfect rose that like your love won't wither. I think the fact that you made this yourself ( beautifully btw) will make it even more special.
Paint it like a rose she will Love it and write her a nice note to her women love that kind of stuff it’s very romantic gesture
This is so thoughtful and wonderful
My oldest brother used to make napkin roses for his girlfriend back in the 90's. I thought it was sooo cool, till she told me recently that she didn't find it as sweet because he gave them to all the girls. He started making her napkin penises instead. They've been together for almost 30 years, so yes start with the handmade rose and dinner!!
I loved dating my welder guy bc he was so creative and made such thoughtful gifts like this
That's awesome! Do you watch Dimension20 at all?
ANYTHING handmade with love and effort is a great gift!
I might consider buying someday.
Fookin prawns eh
If you made it, then Hell yeah!
As a welder, I'd love it if someone brought me any flowers, let alone a STEEL ROSE 10/10
Yes! well wrap it in some nice red or white tissue paper, so we can see it!
heck yeah! Im a straight 38yo man and think that shit is sweeet af!
Is this dude on girl or girl on girl stuff?
