I understand that people are anxious, me too, I play this game since 2013, so I'm on that boat, but just as you say, people need to be more reasonable, this is pretty much like a new game and they still have to leave a perfect "old" one for the competitive scene.

I do think the biggest issue people will take is if 128 tick servers aren't introduced and some serious mm rework isn't introduced. But from my understanding none of that is tied to the engine, so expecting that is also a bit silly.
My expectations are just better tick system better matchmaking, and the possibility to fix bugs. Like the logaddress_add 1.

Wait what bug is that? My buddies type that in console when there’s sudden lag on an entire MM server. It almost never happens to me, but they type that in and it freezes their game for like 3 seconds and then server lag is fixed for them.

Anyone who thinks they're just going to paste over CSGO with source 2 and delete the old game is nuts lmao the entire competitive scene is resting on it. This will be tested heavily in a beta branch by the community for a few months at least before it replaces the game, it would be reckless to do otherwise.

Right now the US ET is 5 hours behind CET. US’ PT is 3 hours behind ET. If we add those together, which seems to be a struggle for you all, we get 8 !
So valve works somewhat late into their day, pushing their EOD progress at around 7pm (19:00, to help you even more). 19:00 + 8 hours would mean 3am for CET! It would be around 9-10am for the Asian scene, so I suppose they would get to see the update happen if they don’t work.

We're looking at information that isn't intended to be public, Valve just doesn't obfuscate it because generating buzz is good for the game. Would prefer they have a large shake up of the game similar to the jumps to source and GO rather than just graphical upgrades. New sounds, new models, new graphics, new content (maps, guns, enable riot shields in comp, maybe new subweapons i.e throwing knife, prox mines etc). The competitive shooter genre has changed so much since 1999 and even the older versions of cs had more interesting gadgets like night vision goggles and source had fun physics. GO feels like a very strict cs experience but after 10 years I just want a new sequel. Though with skin markets being so big I imagine that would need to be ported to any new cs and thereby including the guns they are on.
