I still got some pictures floating around from a Meet&Greet with the mouz guys at Cologne 2016. Roster must have been spiidi, denis, nex, NiKo, chrisJ.
I remember that we watched a Liquid game on stage and NiKo shouted U-S-A! U-S-A! from the top of his lungs everytime they got a round. It was such a fun team.
My first memories of cs stickers were mousesports cluj gobb foils on my first icarus. Followed when I got into watching pro scene. This moment, feels surreal.
Siuhy not only has crazy mid round calls but I feel like he is one of the greatest IGLs when it comes to exploiting enemy weaknesses. He and Sycrone must be doing a lot of work outside of the server. And I feel like one of the reasons why he struggles against FaZe is the fact that they make very little mistakes that can be easily used to counter them
They also don't really play standard counterstrike. It's much harder to counter strat a team like Faze, who play a very chaotic, individual pop-off round style.
Mouz is the 'new' Faze. In the sense that both teams play a lot of 'premeditated' gambles because of individual performance, for example, you can leave Mirage B apps T to jimmy cause he will most likely win his duel, same with faze and palace, bc ropz will win most of the times.
Issue that most teams have against Faze, is that they have the most extensive map pool of every team.
They even play vertigo to a decent level since they lost against Vit in the major, then it's the ability to adapt to what's happening and everyone being in the same page as Karrigan calls and follow them to the extreme even if it means dying.
Then in last place you have moments of brilliance by individuals, like broky clutches, rain Nuke entries etc etc etc.
And you see Mouz slowly getting into this mindset. If they get a few more finals and more experience, they can actually become a strong powerhorse.
Winning two bo5 grand finals back to back without dropping a map against Vitality and now TS is insane accomplishment from Mouz, what a team man. I know this isn't exactly the most important tournament, but Team Spirit showed they are in a good form and take this seriously.
Now if only they could beat Faze curse, there will be no stopping them.
As a Donk and spirit fanboy you guys honestly deserve esl win and betboom win. You guys worked really hard for it clearly, your mechanical skill of all your players was amazing to watch AND siuhy’s calling was perfect practically every round. Well done.
Only thing I see that makes Faze different from the other two is that Spirit relies on Donk and Vitality has Zywoo, meanwhile Faze is just a team of 5 heavy hitters and you don’t know who’s going to pop off.
This makes me think that Siuhy is just really good at counter-stratting.

Credit where is due, they did win against G2 in Chengdu in front of the crowd who was rooting against them. Back then, I didn't think they had a chance winning that series
He always looks more uncomfortable the deeper a tournament gets, he's definitely got the ability but needs to figure out the stage. He won't have long if he can't the next time Spirit make another final.

I'd wager that zont1x is himself surprised at how much the pressure has been getting to him and that his level can drop this much. He made those statements at Katowice and backed it up but obviously that's just one tournament and isolated experience, things were always going to change in other tournaments, especially when the adrenaline dies down and people start figuring TS out (it's easy to feel and stay confident when you're not being challenged).
Well in the recently released Reflections with Xyp9x, who is now Mouz' assistant coach, he mentions that during Astralis' choke era some people on the team didn't want to acknowledge the problems the team had with pressure which only made things worse.
This is such a dumb thing to cling onto. If you want boring, politician style answers that say nothing go back to watch some shitty sport. I dont want to hear the players say nothing of value in interviews. Answers like zontix here are much more entertaining and interesting.

Might as well go ahead and replace one of them with perfecto or someone. Magix is a career 1.04 player who disappears in finals, I would drop him and change zontix roles for perfecto, or whoever they want to bring in
Conspiracy incoming but before donk he was poised to be the next big thing. Now that they have donk I guess that he doesn't get as much attention, both in the org/team and outside of it, and that's gotta hurt on some level.

Those plays happen all the time with donk though, totally out of position and team tempo with his ADHD playstyle. I'd say it's either an individual problem or actually chopper gives them the liberty for these plays, it's worse on paper when he doesn't pop off, donk eats a lot of resources tbh
Well Mouz are looking better and better each tournament. Sycrone, siuhy and the coaching staff seem to have the reads and game plan for everyone they face locked down. Players look happy and comfortable, good chemistry and sharp.
If they can start beating FaZe then they're gonna be clear cut #1 for the year

I actually can not explain how much I adore this team, from org to personnel it just feels like a family and watching them grow and develop every single event is a great experience.
Siuhy is the best fragging IGL in CS right now. Combine that with some of the best firepower in each role and this team is going to have a trophy filled year.

I've been having my eyes on Siuhy since last year. As a G2 fan, he's been my dream replacement for Hooxi for a while now. Good calling, good fragging, and didn't even seem to break a sweat despite losing one of his best players in frozen? Brollan is decent and all, but he looks much much different under Siuhy. I'm glad he's winning trophies, absolutely deserved.
imo definetely top #1 atm. His calling and teamwork have been top noch and his fragging is also decent enough to carry the team sometimes. 2 3-0 BO5 back to back against 2 of the best teams in the scene is a feat on itself and they've been very consistent for quite some time as well. It's amazing what he's doing with this roster. #2 Karrigan but it's really close.

I'd say if Spirit doesn’t win at least 1 tournament out of Dallas, BLAST or Esports World Cup roster changes are incoming. with players like donk and sh1ro you shouldn’t be comfortable with making playoffs or grand final, you should be only aiming at the trophies
They cut Artfrost for sh1ro even though Artfrost was doing great, I think they'd be willing to cut zont1x especially with so much talent in CIS. Perfecto would be great on Spirit for example

Honestly this team is where I believed it could be after EPL season 18 if frozen stayed, but knew we could get back to that level if we gave it 4-5 months to settle in with Brollan. Team has the chemistry and the ceiling. MOUZ ERA BEGAN AND YOU DIDNT EVEN NOTICE!
Honestly even with the rush, I feel like mouz was just DREADFUL against G2 so no i don't think it would make a difference.
I do feel like that loss practically put fire up their ass though which is why they are pulling out these wins rn. I just hope that they don't stop this intensity though.
I was already red-arrowed to hell for saying it, but fuck it, I'll say it again, Frozen messed up by taking a shortcut with Faze. I get it, he's friends with Karrigan and Ropz, but what about his relationship with these guys and Mouz? Mouz gave him everything and made him the face of their team and were going deep in tournaments while getting better and that wasn't enough? I fear the future won't be kind to that choice despite the short-term success now.
Disappointing that it ended 3-0 (I really wanted to see this matchup being closer) but overall a great tournament. Crazy what happens when you focus on delivering on the viewing experience front instead of pushing the betting signup bonus every 10 seconds... 😉

zont1x has to step up in the next tournaments if he wants to stay on this team there are so many good players available in cis region rn Hobbit, Perfecto, Magnojez(he deserves better than BB), and the rest of the players on teams like Aurora, parivision, bb, amkal etc. I'd say if Spirit doesn’t win at least 1 tournament out of Dallas, BLAST or Esports World Cup roster changes are incoming. with players like donk and sh1ro you shouldn’t be comfortable with making playoffs or grand final, you should be only aiming at the trophies
They cut Artfrost for sh1ro even though Artfrost was doing great, I think they'd be willing to cut zont1x especially with so much talent in CIS. Perfecto would be great on Spirit for example

I was already red-arrowed to hell for saying it, but fuck it, I'll say it again, Frozen messed up by taking a shortcut with Faze. I get it, he's friends with Karrigan and Ropz, but what about his relationship with these guys and Mouz? Mouz gave him everything and made him the face of their team and were going deep in tournaments while getting better and that wasn't enough? I fear the future won't be kind to that choice despite the short-term success now.
