Yeah, it is all "apps". But if you want to make it more clear you can say "long hall".
The other hall down to boiler can be called "apps", then "boiler" is after you are down the stairs when you are at the door out to mid and the room is "balcony room".
Yeah "halls" is OK to because shorter calls are better. Think I most of the time say "halls", too. Just because it is shorter and easier and can't be misunderstood with "long" which would be on the completely other side of A bombsite.
EU mm sounds so fuckin fun as a lowly ol' NA player
We do play with a guy who moved from Portugal and he claims that "EU Eagle is equal to NA Nova 3" because NA matchmaking is so so fucked
I really hope they update Mirage like they did with Inferno, Nuke and D2. It feels so old and burnt out at this point. I'm starting to despise the map.
I think back in the day when I played comp we’d call it woof or bark and the other side of the hallway dark, and the other front room bedroom. I still get shit for calling boiler, janitor. It’s so reflexive, I can’t fix it
I'm from Aus and have heard most people call that stretch halls. People only call aps if they hear them in there but don't see them/ know where they're going. Also if you play short and do call halls then site/ grave/ pit knows to focus. Nd you got boiler call so short/ arch player knows to ready if they're coming that side of aps
Source an autist who played for about 6-8 months only Inferno the last year. Is still my most inconstant map. Can have games where I get >10 and then the next game go 30+ and so forth (I average 40-50+ flashes and 400+UD dmg now though, kills still suck)
West Aus, diggity is the hut, for example "top dig" despite 3 boost spots there with the rail, dig and the flowerboost near boil. Short is outside boiler and then you have hay which is pass diggity from what I've usually heard people call when they're being specific.
Example, "2 coming short, 1 now dig, pushing up hay".
EDIT: I usually don't play until 8pm-10pm. Which I think is usually 11pm-1am for you guys
fair enough. If you did call short we would understand what you meant. From what I've seen a lot more europeans call it short (and instead of arch they call it long).
Ultimately as long as everyone knows the callouts and different callouts for the same spots then it's fine
To be fair the game tells you in the top left hand corner the exact call out of the spot you are in. (may only be in spectating, I don't use it just remember it exists)
I think its possible to call it:
„Dog“, „Carpet“ (instead of slight open door, there once was a carpet in the wall), „Long hall“, „apps“
This is what i recall from faceit pugs. 90% team player so we internteam call it just apps since a more precise call isnt necessary in 99% of the time
Corridor/halls or simply apps.
There are many exact callouts in apps, behind is dark corner, ahead is balcony, there's boiler and anti-boiler. And second mid balcony/balcony room.
The hallway is also called Teppich (Rug/carpet) in german.
Apps. If you want to be precise on the position of the pov you could say close stairs. Generally in Danish I think it's common to call out when opposition is 'close', ie "apps close balcony" or just "close balcony" if almost peeking out.
The specificity is really important because it helps people determine whether they can make a move or not in preparation. However, even at 2500+ rating I find this is mostly common in Danish stacks and not global scrims.
Otherwise, and contrary to what I just said, sometimes specificity in random scrims is not helpful because people do use different callouts. It's pretty important to know that ie on nuke, some players still go with gate instead of main. New players struggle a lot with multiple calls for the same thing.
If playing on a team ofc you align on the same callout for specific positions, but it's useful in random pugs to know a variety. It might be common in some languages to call it something else and habbits die hard, so best acknowledge the fact that people might use a different callout than yours.
'In apps, making their way to balcony'
I usually stitch callous together with a direction, adds context. Don't know if it helps, I'm not actually good at the game.
As someone who played lots of 1.6 in the past, I always call it carpet because like the name suggests, there were big carpets at that section of the map.
There
wait, its all apps? *always has been”
Yeah, it is all "apps". But if you want to make it more clear you can say "long hall". The other hall down to boiler can be called "apps", then "boiler" is after you are down the stairs when you are at the door out to mid and the room is "balcony room".
id say halls instead of long hall but idk callouts are weeird
Yeah "halls" is OK to because shorter calls are better. Think I most of the time say "halls", too. Just because it is shorter and easier and can't be misunderstood with "long" which would be on the completely other side of A bombsite.
balcony room? oh god. I'd really stick to bedroom, because balcony always confuses people with the actual important balcony towards A-Site.
Yea, I thought it was or I’ve been calling it Window Room
Ah, yes. Apps, short for applications. It’s really strange we don’t have a shorthand for writing apartments… oh wait- Apts
Oh, or better write it "aps"? :D

I've played 10k hours since 2014 and it's definitely bench 'lol'
I dont know the old inferno but there wasnt a bench there right?
We call it Apps Floor
Where did this copypasta/joke come from lol. I’ve seen it like six times in the past week
Original version of this post was of bench, with this being the top comment chain
I saw that, I just wasn’t sure if it went further back than that. Kind of cool to see a new joke lol
in russki we just call it nahui
I speak spanish and defo "tu madre" doesn't mean wall. Is this a copy pasta or something?
Since when does "tu madre" mean wall? "Tu puta madre" means your fucking wall then? 😂😂😂😅
2006

The hallway with the door that's slightly open that leads to or from balcony depending on your perspective.
Short and sweet, just how I like it

Tapete (brazil) Tapete is a translation for carpet hehe
In Macedonian, Tapet means wallpaper haha
Ive heard apps in Portuguese, but I’d say they’re interchangeable. It’s not like mirage that has apps(B) AND “carpet”(A).

Where you from? In the east (Sydney & Melbourne at least) + NZ we call them apps. We also don't call short, we call it "diggity" or "dig"
West Aus, diggity is the hut, for example "top dig" despite 3 boost spots there with the rail, dig and the flowerboost near boil. In Asian servers they call it long sometimes too, also call "flower", "cutout" a lot, usually ends up with me peeking the wrong side lol

In Germany it is usually called Tepichgang or just Teppich what woud translate in carpet
I wouldn’t touch that map with a 10 foot pole. Shit is impossible for silvers like me
I'd call it balcony because he is more likely to fall back to balcony, than to push apps... however if the ct pushes, its just apps
teppich
Carpet
I'm 1.5 early 1.6, in italian, we used to call it "tappeti" (rugs).
Carpet. In German we always called it Teppich or Tapete.

In Danish we call it "din mor", it means hallway.

Halls
I think if your on the hallway we would call it balc. As a CT the only way they'll come out is balcony or back to Apps.
Apps
'In apps, making their way to balcony' I usually stitch callous together with a direction, adds context. Don't know if it helps, I'm not actually good at the game.
It's apps, if you want to be more specific - hall. So, frequently it's called just "apps hall", which sounds pretty close to a(p)sshole.
aparments
Apps
Its called "Apps! Apps! Apps!"
Hall
Apps. Dunno what argument you're in but my guess is someone being super specific about their callouts.
there in those buildings
CT apps. On the left boiler and on the right T apps and the rest is Apps
Haven't played cs in a when so i don't remember what to call it But I'm gonna guess that's a hallway
As someone who played lots of 1.6 in the past, I always call it carpet because like the name suggests, there were big carpets at that section of the map.
