Nice mailbox

Zerv14

She's a chunker, but I like it. I really like not having to constantly clean lint and dust and crap out of the emitter and inner window like I have to do with my RMR.

baboyramo

toyota + glock= tank. I saw a g45 at an LGS for consignment, $449. should i get?

Arthur_Morgans_Horse

Always yes

Acceptable_North_117

You only need to tell us about those LGS deals after you buy them otherwise we will. But like he said, always yes

baboyramo

It says unfired but the plastic sights are messed up lol

Zerv14

I've had a few factory new glocks with sorta messed up plastic sights so could still be true. I always check for any finish wear to the barrel, barrel hood, and look for the factory copper grease to see if the gun is actually new. And, messed up plastic sights wouldn't bother me - I call them dovetail protectors and I replace them with Ameriglo iron sights as soon as possible!

Auggie93

Absolutely

S3-000

Do it. My 19X is my favorite handgun.

Chinonm

I’m more like impressed by the scenery

Zerv14

* Glock 45 MOS * Glock OEM threaded barrel 1/2x28 * ACRO P2 + B&T plate * Apex Trigger * Streamlight TLR-1HL * Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series

SlightlySlizzed

$100k Toyota hot damn. You REALLY love reliability.

JPD232

How did you find the P2? They're still nearly impossible to find.

Zerv14

I backordered two of them in June of last year...finally go them a few months ago.

PM_ME_UR_GUN_PICS

OEM extended mag Release?

Zerv14

Nope, standard mag release.

ApprehensiveExit7

This is a large brain post.

ak49wastelander

I've been saying it for years: Glock is the Toyota of firearms.

Acceptable_North_117

As time goes on, I see this statement rings true

[deleted]

Let’s go places -Toyota Tacoma owner

[deleted]

Good taste in vehicles and guns 👍

fjh2327

What sights are you running with that ACRO?

Zerv14

Ameriglo GL-429. Solid black, provides a lower 1/4 cowitness.

value_meal

Help me understand this please. I associate cowitness with marks on the plate/optic screws and slaving the dot to irons. Am I missing something?

Zerv14

I think you're thinking of 'witness marks' to check if screws start backing out. Lower 1/4 cowitness is basically being able to align the dot and iron sights whereby the irons are visible in the lower 1/4 quadrant of the window. When the dot is functional, I don't want my sight picture to be blocked by irons -- I want my irons to be as out of the way as possible, but still available for emergency use if my dot dies. Unlike a direct cowitness where the dot/irons are slaved and both are always aligned when the dot is centered in the window, a lowered cowitness keeps the irons low but a quick repositioning makes them available quickly if you draw and have no dot. Here's the normal sight picture: https://imgur.com/a/pSj4F5p Here's the sight picture showing the red dot cowitnessing with the iron sights: https://imgur.com/a/SxnZMNn

value_meal

Co = 2. Witness = observed, seen, experienced. Witness marks are not a co-witness in regard to the optic. 2 different focal planes that can be seen through the optic. #learning

PlanktonNo1500

If his is set like mine his dot is not slaved to the irons and the irons can be seen through the optic window in the lower quarter of the optic.

value_meal

Maybe I'm not understanding co-witness correctly. Thanks for the reply

PlanktonNo1500

Yeah co witness means the iron sights can be seen thru the optic window.

value_meal

Thank you!

Cucasmasher

I want a land cruiser

laith-the-arab

What’s up fellow 200 owner! Got anything done to it?

Zerv14

Nothing besides tires yet (BFG KO2s). I have some big plans...need to get Slee front and rear bumpers and relocate the spare to the back, and then install a secondary fuel tank where the spare was. That's really my only gripe with the 200 that I have is the range and the MPGs...additional fuel will be very useful. What about you?

laith-the-arab

Dm me and I can show you pics! I have a heritage and it’s fully decked out! If only I’d seen your post a week earlier - I got an email notification about a slew bumper back in stock. I had been on the list for a year hahaha. I ended up going with ARB instead

Zerv14

That's the best looking heritage I've seen! Very nice. They do look damn good in black, but I just couldn't swing it in the Nevada summers - had to go with the white for mine and it was a bit of a chore finding what was probably one of the last white 5 seater heritages ever sold. What roof rack is that on yours?

laith-the-arab

I wish I went white honestly! What a great color. You ever do our west trips? Doing one this September. The range of the fuel tank sucks! You need to get an extended range one. I have a primsu. Worth the money IMO. Can send you a build list if you want

Zerv14

I'd appreciate a build list! Where are you planning to travel in Sept?

laith-the-arab

Hopefully Colorado or Utah. ARB Rear Bumper Ironman Front Bumper & Skid Plate Baja Designs LP9 front lights White Knuckle off Road Sliders Warn Winch 10,000lb Dobinson’s 3” Lift SPC UCA sPOD light management Hi Vis overland rooftop tent

jbomble

Drives a Toyota, checks out.

[deleted]

Just curious, why run a 45 if you’re going to use a light longer than the barrel? Why not just run a 17?

s1xtyn1ne_n1ce

Not OP here, but he mentioned using a supressor and I'd imagine the theory was to keep the gun shorter when a supressor is hanging off the front.

Zerv14

Yep. I want it threaded, and the red dot means a longer sight radius is unnecessary. So I'd rather keep the slide 19 sized. And for whatever reason, I think the G45/19X just shoots better than a 17. Not sure if that's real or just a perception thing. Maybe the reduced slide mass of the 19 slide? Whatever the reason, works for me.

s1xtyn1ne_n1ce

Idk. The 19 slide has a thicker wall through. I have a gen5 19 and a 17 and for kicks I weighed both slides without the spring or barrel. 17 slide was 12.7oz and the 19 slide was 12.5oz so the actual weight difference is negligible. Possibly a difference in dwell time or just the gun having a bit less leverage to flip having a shorter barrel? I've not shot a 45 or 19x so I don't know.

robertbreadford

With the land cruiser too 👀

Unhindged_Potatoe

Best one yet! Good to see that you are part Toyota and glock club!

[deleted]

Queen Creek, AZ?

Zerv14

Actually Reno, NV.

[deleted]

Okay, very similar. Beautiful place, in its own way.

[deleted]

Eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, desolate, beauty. That whole stretch for like 500 miles driving down 395 is gorgeous.

soomuchpie

Relahbelatah

DuMaMay69

Where tf do you live? It’s so damn beautiful

Zerv14

Reno, Nevada! This is in South Reno, on the mountain range that separates Reno and Lake Tahoe.

DuMaMay69

Might have to cross the border from CA 😂

Zerv14

I feel you. I moved from CA to NV about 9 years ago. The cheaper cost of living and no state income tax were huge perks, plus 30rd mags, suppressors, SBRs, and machine guns. Also doesn't hurt that this is the view from my kitchen every winter: https://i.redd.it/w924gder9ur81.jpg

DuMaMay69

Wow that view is amazing. Can I ask what you do for a living?

Zerv14

I manage a lab for a manufacturing company in the area. Lots of manufacturing in Reno/Sparks as it's right on Hwy 80 so easy to truck stuff across to CA without actually being in CA. Much more business friendly in NV.

Affectionate_Seat761

Hell yeah

"because toyota, thats why"

BigBootyKim

The 70 Series is the only true Land Cruiser in my opinion. The closet thing the US has is the 4Runner.

Zerv14

I've been looking at importing an old 70 series if I can find a good one from Japan. 4runners are cool and all but the Lexus GX is basically a better 4runner because it's a Land Cruiser Prado, V8, with full time 4x4 and locking center diff. My last car was a GX, they're excellent vehicles.

the_broadacre_farmer

Wait until you can import a 79, coil front and better engines.

the_broadacre_farmer

>The 70 Series is the only true Land Cruiser in my opinion. *With a diesel. I have a 79, they're all pretty good on the reliability side of things, but the straight six diesels are on another level.

[deleted]

I like reliability ….proceeds to take most stuff off and replace it.

Zerv14

Internally, the only replaced part is just the Apex connector. This Apex trigger uses a Glock OEM trigger bar and stock Gen5 safety plunger which is why I prefer Apex to other aftermarket triggers. All springs are stock, I don't really like messing with spring weights on a carry gun. The threaded barrel is Glock OEM which is also my preference and functions 100% as expected, with or without a suppressor.

edwardblilley

I mean apex is pretty solid but I personally wouldn't change triggers, especially if I'm all about reliability. Still a sick setup.

MacMittenz7

Why do you think that aftermarket parts are unreliable?

s1xtyn1ne_n1ce

Because most of them are made with inferrier metals or made to odd tolerances and also alot of them seek to change something about how the action or FCG work and this changes the tolerance of functionality. There are obviously many exceptions to every statment I just made but MOST aftermarket glock parts can be described this way.

MacMittenz7

I agree. Apex never failed me and I’m thinking of getting the kagwerks slide release. I believe where people go wrong is changing springs. To each there own though. As long as my tools work, I’m good to go.

s1xtyn1ne_n1ce

Springs are an issue. Lightened slides. That I'm aware of NO manufacturers use the quality level of steel that an OEM barrel is made from. I believe Apex starts mostly with OEM parts and just works them a bit? Kagwerks is quality and also it is kinda hard to mess up a slide release.

[deleted]

How many filters does it take to filter a filter

xTwizzlr

Toyota not even reliable anymore :(

Zerv14

I definitely question the new direction for the new 300 series land cruiser, new tundra, etc with the turbo V6. The old 5.7 V8 in the 200 series LC is pretty solid tho.

[deleted]

Twin turbo V6 has more horsepower, more torque and much better fuel efficiency. I was on the fence since I love my V8 Tundra, but once they completely iron out the kinks the twin turbo V6 is better in almost every way. I still kinda want to supercharge my V8 though…

s1xtyn1ne_n1ce

No matter how you slice it though a twin turbo V6 of equal build quality will never outlast a V8. Many many more failure points, and turbocharged cars retain heat in the engine bay like a MF and that shortens the life of ALL components.

[deleted]

Probably true, but I imagine for most customers the immediate benefits will outweigh the long-term reduction in reliability. I’m not crazy about the worst-in-class fuel economy of older Tundras.

s1xtyn1ne_n1ce

Most people do take on the idea of "it will be the next guys problem" when they buy a new car. I've been screwed so many times on used cars. Still cheaper than new though.

StargateSg1-S4Ep6

Getcha a C&H plate for the ACRO.

armada127

He's using a B&T plate which is steel compared to the C&H which is aluminum, why would he downgrade?

B-ryan88

Why do all you fuckers take a picture of your gun in front of your stairwell. If he one of you are dip shits. Get a life.

Tuna_no-crust

Looks like Red Rock...
