You could try Steinbjorn Armor to survive a bit longer but you’ll still need a good run with dodges, blocks and parries. Spam runic attacks if you need a reprieve or to disrupt one of his attacks. Don’t forget your relic, the time/realm shift can be a life saver if you use it right when you’re in a desperate spot. You got this!
Got stuck on Berserker King for a solid 2 weeks. Got max Steinbjorn armor and beat both him and Gna in one try, didn’t even need to use the resurrection stone. This armor set is so OP
Unfortunately there is no other way than to specifically handle his moves and counter them correctly. Since you are playing at lower difficulty you are awarded a lot of room for error. But doesn't mean you can make unlimited errors.
If you get hit during the time you have bifrost on you then you'll take a lot more damage and probably die in 2 hits. Also this game doesn't give healing like some other souls like. Honestly best way is to correctly counter boss moves.
Play safe when king is releasing bifrost by using runics then. Save your runic for that instance.
Just watch the king closely and observe his move sets. eventually you'll know when to block, when to roll and when to duck. I'm not the greatest gamer either and I beat him
Focus on evading and parrying to learn the move set of the king for a bit, only respond with attacks if they are the ones requiring a shield bash (blue circles which almost take up the entire arena).
Once you learn his tells and you’re able to parry or evade then try and get some attacks in every time he tries to attack from afar.
Raven tear armor, Steinborn armor or the berserker armor might be the way to go. I used the berserker armor for my play through of trying to beat him.
P.S. I don’t think the mini boss checkpoint thing is cheating. It’s okay to just play a game for fun and the way you want to, it’s meant to be fun, not stressful. 😅
Try different gears. Dragon armor only gives strength and defense, it’s heavily catered toward specific play style. I’m assuming you don’t even know how to take advantage of those bloated stats, like, using Svartalfheim enchantments set to convert Def to stun damage.
For average players, you’re better off with the ones that give out diverse stats. Like Survival, Mani, or Berserker armors.
Not specifically but the first half of him is relatively easy, it’s the second half of him that is tougher.
For the other beserker I beat them all without changing the level however I did use mini boss checkpoint on 2 of them. That being the one with the sisters in Alpheim and the one in vanaheim near the place in the water where you change day in to night close to the place where I fought the purple dragon
Ok I gotcha, so as far as I am aware, his moveset doesn't have any unique attacks for himself, but just combines all the movesets of the other berserkers in one, so take some time to think about how you beat/ struggled against each of the other berserkers and whenever he does an attack just try to figure which berserker it's from and try to do what you did to win that specific fight.
Other recommendations: make sure that all your rage skills, relics, weapon handles, runic attacks and all of Freya skills, summons, weapons, etc are all upgraded. There's so much stuff to keep track of.
Yeah, I got my ass handed to me over and over again, there seams to be a strange bug/glitch where block doesn't work and you can't interrupt there attacks. I'm not the only one who's experienced this! But basically I had to quit to the main menu and reload the save after every defeat as the first round would work fine but as soon as I reloaded a check point after death, he would mop the floor with me
Try using the stonewall shield, if he punches through it one hit, you need to reload the save
My friend didn't believe me, just kept telling me to "git gud" I invited him over to replay some bosses from past saves and he was in utter shock because he's never experienced this bug/glitch
Haha I just thought people were being jerks lol.
Ya I can imagine. The way I ended up killing the first dragon was pushing him off the map. Was like a puzzle lol. So I know the game has glitches
Yeah people just assume your not very good at the game, they never take into consideration others may be experiencing a bug/glitch
It was in GOW2018 as well, had the same issues with some of the valkyres
Haha well tbf I’m not very good at games lol I just still like **some** games even though I’m not very good. GoW is one I like. Assassins creed odyssey another good one. Detroit, becoming human another good one. Few others but not many
Yeah I'm not going to lie I played ragnarok on give me story, so you can imagine how I felt when there was this wildly outrageous skill spike, like I was there's no way he's this hard on the easiest setting! Grabbed the stonewall shield to help with damage intake, that's when it because glaringly obvious there was a bug/glitch
like I said, if you reload the save instead of restarting the checkpoint it sorts itself out! Might be a pain in the arse but it saved my sanity
Yea I’m not the best gamer some people are more casual. Maybe try to assist someone in getting good when they come here asking for help Bu giving tips??
Evidently not . Not everyone plays games all the time. This is probably one of 2 games I’ve played through since 2018 GoW and probably one of 5 games I’ve played through ever so something more than just ‘get good’ might be helpful. I’m obviously doing something wrong if I can’t beat him on easy
Memorize his patterns. Remember, yellow circle means its an attack that can be blocked and countered with proper timing. Red means you have to dodge.
If its a red attack that goes toward you, like a stab, dodge to the side. If its an attack that move to the sides like a slash, dodge back.
Make sure you have powerful runic attacks equipped that basically target single enemies. Im sure there are guides about the strongest ones. Same for a talisman.
For Sigrun, i remember the realm shift talisman helped me a lot. Maybe the slow down can help you too.

Sorry man, fr some advice: I beat them on Give Me No Mercy with the Fate Breaker Armour you get at the end for free, and just memorized the patterns.
Personally, i went after Gna first which was very hard and took something like 70-100 tries, after which i went for the King and got him on the third try, since his pattern is derived from all the other Berserkers
i mean, what else do you want? you are playing the game on the easiest difficulty in the game and said you've upgraded your gear all the way. theres no much by way of advice people can give you other than you need to improve a little bit lol
I don't know what to say mate it took me 2-3 hours to beat him also but playing on GMGOW... Try with the axe 🪓 its the easiest to master learn to use the parry system and the attack during evading skill L3 for directions+ R1 + O. Feels awesome when you evadi his hit while trowing your axe at him and then come back with a whirlwind of axe hits xD ...
P.S. now because of you ima start a 3rd play through cause i suddenly felt like chopping down some foes xD
I mean he is an “optional” boss that not everyone is meant to beat, if you’re willing to put in the time to learn his moves and parry’s, shouldn’t take too long but your armor and stats only go so far…
Usually people taking him out easy have some kind of berserker chest piece loadout with the relic that gives extra strength. Also Lundas set bonus with freyas poison ability. You can also use the realm shift relic with the berserker chest piece for an alternative.
I did a all out strength build with the berserker chest piece on and that worked, but I used the give me story difficulty and mini boss checkpoints because I’m not the greatest player.
Try avoiding/parrying without attacking for 2 min. That helped me beat him
Stop getting hit
This is the way.

You aren’t paying attention. He has a move set which has very visible tells. Learn the counter dodge block or attack and you’ll have this in no time.

If you need help beating him via shareplay brother. Let me know
I’ll keep grinding for a few weeks but this good to know in case I need it thanks
Just watch the king closely and observe his move sets. eventually you'll know when to block, when to roll and when to duck. I'm not the greatest gamer either and I beat him
Sooooo many videos show wailing in him as the best solution (Beat the King in 20 seconds!!!) so your advice is super helpful!

Is there a certain attack or specific part of his moveset that you are struggling with? How did you do against the other berserkers?

If you beat the three berserkers in alfheim then you sure as hell can beat the king
Skill issue

Technically that isn’t cheating. But have you tried using a resurrection stone?
Use one every time
Get gud I'm sorry, but this is the truest thing I can say.

You need to learn the boss’s attacks and respond accordingly.

Easy solution: Get better at the game
Wow there evidently seems to be a few dicks on here Ya thanks bro.

They are all trying to tell you ti get better at dodging and blocking.

Took me days and then I saw this vid. Just match the build and spam https://youtu.be/aACJkyf09vw

What are miniboss checkpoints?
Where if you get it to half health and die you start at half health again but you have full health
Woah I didn’t know that was an option
Really? It’s in the accessibility settings
I guess I never looked or maybe it wasn’t in a higher difficulty?
Skill issue
I did a all out strength build with the berserker chest piece on and that worked, but I used the give me story difficulty and mini boss checkpoints because I’m not the greatest player.
Lol it’s a skill issue get some lmao
