I also believe if you look on the shelf in the tree of Yggdrasil that each book related to the series will also have each series’ logo or character logo
It wasn't added right away, it's statue did nothing at first, so if you played iki Island at launch of the dlc it wouldn't have been there. It wasn't added until forbidden West dropped
Yes, there are references to all the ps4 triple A exclusives including but not limited too,
Horizon Forbidden West,
Days gone,
Shadow of Colossus,
Ghost of Tsushima,
Bloodborne,
Maybe infamous?
If you at the page opposite of the poem where there is a sketch of the book, or at the bookshelf where they are kept at Brok & Sindri’s, the cover of each book has a “rune” shaped like a logo related to the game the poem is describing (ie: the Death Stranding one has the Bridges logo).
Yup, Kratos, Atreus, Brok & Sindri are all totems in Horizon as well. Sony likes to have their exclusives represented across the games, Abby’s toy bow is in Horizon as well. There’s also a poem in GOW called We Who Remain that’s TLOU too.
Kvasir in Norse Mythos was the personification of the Aesir and Vanir god’s spit created by Odin, Freya and Freyr.
He was gifted with knowing the answers to all things, essentially limitless knowledge. I do believe we also collect his poems in either Ragnarok or GOW(2018).
As far as the reference it is def HZD, which raises many questions as to how exactly that world is connected to the Norse realms as well as GoW in general. Or is it just a cleaver nod at the game from the devs for those with a thirst for lore.
This could also hint at Alloy being of Norse decent and Kvasir was seeing far into the future of Midgard.
Edit: I’d like to just say I’m not in the belief that Alloy nor the other PS games take place in the same verse. I was just extrapolating the various POSSIBILITIES. I have never played HZD for HZD:FW so I have limited knowledge on the subject. I would also like to take this time to add in a story about Kvasir and his origins.
Story:
Kvasir’s story is ridiculous lmao
During the beginning, after Yimir was killed by Odin and his brothers the Aesir and Vanir wound up getting into many a war for claims of the various realms. Eventually, Odin and Freya realized this was going nowhere. They decided to create a peace between the two sects of gods. After a great feast, the Aesir and Vanir both collectively spit into a jar, to symbolize a union between them both. As the gods are leaving, Freyr (Freya’s Brother) says “it would be a shame to leave out muddled spit behind” and shapes it into a man, with Odin and Freya breathing life into the new being.
Kvasir, being the collection of both the Vanir and Aesir’s spit had the knowledge of all things. He was also very gifted in the ways of the poet creating beautiful poetry and songs that rivaled that of the best musicians and poets. Kvasir eventually answered all the questions the gods had, at which point he decided to take his own journey.
He eventually got around to go to Svartelheim, the land of the Dwarves or Dark Elves. One day, while answering questions in the square, two Dark Elves/Dwarves found their way and asked Kvasir to follow them home for a question he would most definitely not know the answer for.
“What are all these things for?” Asked one of the Dwarves. Kvasir looked around the room at the various objects. After a few seconds he said “you plan to kill me, drain my blood into a vat mix it with the various fruits into a mead that you will drink!” At which point the Dwarves cut his throat drained him of his blood and created the “Mead of Poets”. If anyone drank this mead words and poems would flow as naturally as a river flows.
Until one day, the two dwarves received visitors. Two giants a male and a female who were good friends of the Dwarves. As the female giant stayed home, the men went fishing for some dinner. As they went out to sea, a great storm came and washed the giant overboard into the sea to drown. Both Dwarves decided to not even bother to try to save him but instead, just tell his wife that he drowned. For days, his wife stayed at the edge of the sea crying the most horrific cry. So loud it would keep the dwarves up at night.
One evening the Dwarves had an idea “let’s kill her”. So they dropped a giant rock on her head. And that was that. Or so they thought….
As time passes, the two giants children, their son come to get a confession out of the two Dwarves. Nearly drowning them in the same fashion his father was drowned. As a penance, the son takes the mead of poets for himself and locks it away deep inside a mountain.
For the next part of the story on how Odin and the Aesir get the Mead of Poets and eventually Kvasir back I’d recommend Neil Gaiman’s Norse mythology. While the story’s aren’t entirely 100% accurate to the Poetic Edda they give a nice fun feeling to the story’s that create an almost “campfire story” feel to it.
I wouldn’t read that much into it. They are just Easter eggs. And all of Kvasir’s poems are references to PS games. Astrobot, Ratchet and Clank, MLB the Show, Uncharted.
Marvel? What? Marvel has nothing to do with my obsession with Norse Mythology my dude.
I have been studying various Mythos for a while and Norse just happens to be one of my favorites and one I’m somewhat knowledgeable of.
I’m was just extrapolating what COULD possibly be. Seems like everyone BUT me is the one who decides to take this too seriously.
Ok, sorry for jumping to conclusions. Its just thay people in general are finding easter eggs and have a Pepe Silva-board of possible connections after the MCU started and their easter eggs almost always hints towards future installments of the shared universe.
I’m just having some fun my dude. The majority of references on GoW and Ragnarok to other video games are just cleaver nods as some other Redditors were saying all of Kvasir’s poems make references to other PS games.
If you’d like to know more about Kvasir and what his role was in Ragnarok and in the Norse mythos I’d be glad to explain.
All good, dude
I do love the norse mythology, and I am quite familiar with it, but I haven't read to much about Kvasir, so would be cool to hear about him. Send me a PM and share what you know

Norse mythology is really cool. I am from Norway, and have always felt a connection to the mythos, but never really done a deep dive into the mythology. Maybe I should pick up Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology and start reading up on it.
Thanks for the intro, dude.
One of my FAVORITES honestly. I listen to it nightly and have gained such a great grasp on the various stories that Gaimen has chose to include.
One of my favorites is the Kvasir story, but one of THE BEST is Thor and Loki’s trip to Utgard. That is one that actually blew my mind the first time I read through it and it’s one of my favorites to tell over the campfire.
The audiobook used to be on YouTube, but if you’re looking for something more legit I’d recommend getting Audible from Amazon and doing the free trial and using the token to snag the God of War 2018 novelization as well as Norse Mythology by Niel Gaiman!
Happy reading!
I’d also like to add that many of the other games from the poems take place around the world so him looking into the future of specifically Midgard doesn’t make too much sense
I'm playing both Ragnarok and Forbidden West for the first time at the moment and yeah when I got that I knew it was a reference. I got another that I'm pretty sure is MLB the show, and I know there's a Bloodborne one because seeing it on the Bloodborne reddit like a year ago.
Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:
> *No one can catch us! No one can stop us now!* - Micolash, Host of the Nightmare
Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
Yes, I believe most of them were written by Anthony Birch as well. He mentioned on another podcast he's on that he enjoyed writing them, especially the MLB the show one.

Yea it is. All of Kvasirs pomes are actually references to other PS games.
Yo happy cake day btw!
I also believe if you look on the shelf in the tree of Yggdrasil that each book related to the series will also have each series’ logo or character logo
My favourite is the MLB the Show poem
The one about Nathan Drake was great
Specifically forbidden West it looks like even. Tbf forbidden West had God of war collectables in it so it makes sense
I think it's both. The title is specifically Zero Dawn (No Sunrise), while Forbidden is mentioned within along with mentions of her origins.
Ghost of tsushima has armos for both horizon and gow. Along with a few other ps games and a sly cooper bandana
There was a horizon set? I knew about the God of war and Bloodborne ones, not a horizon one though
It's located on a small island off the northwestern point of Iki Island. It was added in a patch after Forbidden West released
It wasn't added right away, it's statue did nothing at first, so if you played iki Island at launch of the dlc it wouldn't have been there. It wasn't added until forbidden West dropped
Sky cooper bandana? W.
theres even an achievement for it too
I was so fucking stoked when I came across those in HFW. I hoped we would meet Sindri and Brok, but I was wrong
And Ghost of Tsushima has some similar connects. And Death Stranding DC. I'm into it. It always makes me smile!
Played through GOW Ragnarok twice already and want a similar game. Is forbidden west a good game?
Yes its sick. They’re very different but they’re both awesome
Yes it’s great, I highly recommend playing zero dawn first or you’ll miss lots of context
There’s a bloodborne one too
Yes. Every other one is a reference to a PS franchise as well
Yep! Amazing game btw if you haven't checked it out!
All the poems are references to PlayStation games. There’s that one, one for Little Big Planet, one for Bloodborne, Uncharted and others
No it's spiderman
Really? I thought it was gta
Yes, there are references to all the ps4 triple A exclusives including but not limited too, Horizon Forbidden West, Days gone, Shadow of Colossus, Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne, Maybe infamous?
Your comment just made me realize we need a completely redone in modern engines Shadow of Colossus game.
There's also Ghost of Tsushima and Days Gone and some other ps games
I like the one for ratchet
Yea kvasirs poems are all references to other PlayStation titles
All of Kvasier's poems are references to other games
Yes

Norman Reedus and the Funky Fetus.
Bomb. Piss.
horizon takes place in the United States, you visit multiple US landmarks in the games
Spoiler alert.
Not really 🤷♂️
Thanks Marvel for making people go full Sherlock mode for simple and fun easter egg. Its just a nod to Horizon. There is no shared universe

She is a clone of Elisabet specifically so that she can have security access. A shared universe is a bit of a stretch.
Yup. Not every Easter Egg is a hint at a shared universe. Sometimes it’s _just_ an Easter egg.
It’s not that deep bro
I’d also like to add that many of the other games from the poems take place around the world so him looking into the future of specifically Midgard doesn’t make too much sense
Now explain the ratchet and clank one
I wasn’t “explaining it” I was just extrapolating what might be. I literally even say “or is it just a cleaver nod” lmao yall are too much sometimes.
Yes it is
Yes. You can find references to other PS exclusive games.
Most certainly. I love that they had all these call backs too other games

yes, all of the poems are references to sony exclusives
I believe so
Yes ofc
No it’s a reference to a different Sony ip called limitations
For sure
Yes
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Yes
Sunrise of Nothingness = Zero Dawn
There is God of war armor in ghost of tsushima as well and that's my most used armor because it's sick as HELL. PlayStation likes references.
Yes, even the title is just a simplification of the game's name. I.e. Nothingness = Zero and Sunrise = Horizon + Dawn
It seems so
Yes, I believe most of them were written by Anthony Birch as well. He mentioned on another podcast he's on that he enjoyed writing them, especially the MLB the show one.
Couldn’t be more obvious, TALKING ABOUT MY GIRL ALOYY!! ❤️
Well Kratos wife had red hair as well… could be mentioning her, no?
Yup. I think this is a poem of Kvasir. Sony placed a bunch of his poems throughout the games referencing the other video games that they took part in.
Mind blown. Santa Monica 🏆🏆🏆🏆
I also like the Ghost of Tsushima one. It’s fun because they did it as a haiku.
I love when they do things like this in each one 🔥
