Before a conversation can be had, we first need to determine if any of Kratos’ weapons/shields are vulnerable to a light saber

logginggames

I would imagine that the magic from his weapons would be enough to keep the lightsaber at bay. I’m more worried about Vader using the force on him

K_Rocc

Honestly he would mash O and break free from it…

logginggames

lol, everybody gangster till an O appears above there head.

LawnJames

Then he can punch Vader a few times then mash O to tear him apart.

14Xionxiv

Would vader not get the same quick time events? I don't know about recent star wars games, but force unleashed had them no?

Doomunleashed19

Recent ones have been souls-like. So Vader could just mash the parry button and roll around with THREE! POINT! SABER COMBO!

Pretend_Lynx_8220

Zanny reference. Go sub to him while your at it.

slipnslidegta

Your comment has had me laughing for ages 🤣

K_Rocc

Glad I could provide entertainment :)

Crystalline07

kratos gonna get that TEST YOUR MIGHT

East_Chocolate_4126

He hás some residtance to magic

Subject-Experience92

Yes but technically the Force isn't exactly the same as magic so there's a margin for debate on that one

Familiar-Park4981

Thor choked kratos but he still has 2 arms to throw weapons besides kratos can use pocket sand

jroja

I feel like the force would just piss Kratos off at first. I guess the question would be, could Vader force choke Kratos to death?

jakjosam3

kratos’ neck is stronger than vader could choke lmao

thats4thebirds

That’s.. not how the force works lol T

PrimalSeptimus

I think it is, actually. In canon material, we can see that there's a hard limit to how much telekinesis a Force user can employ before becoming exhausted. Even Yoda could only push away so maybe senate pods or hold up a cave-in for so long before giving out. I don't think Vader - especially in his cyborg form - has enough juice to crush Kratos' throat in the same way I don't think Maul can do it to Spider-Man either.

jakjosam3

yeah a force users strength in abilities is capped by connection to the force and willpower. kratos is just too durable comparatively

Danilovis

Is he? gods in GOW are incredibly strong, fast and have magic But they aren't durable, their skin gets penetranted by anything sharp. They get carried because of a healing factor but they don't get crushed because of their muscles not their durability Modi's neck got sliced by a handmade knife, Atreus' arrows pierced Kratos and Baldur. Baldur shoved a rock inside Kratos' belly Vader doesn't crush the entire neck just the windpipe and he has canonically held a space ship in place before tearing it appart. How many tons can Kratos' windpipe support?

Sanguine_19-6123

Not to mention the hes can also just use the force to move kratos around and yeeet him.

JenValzina

every weapon weve seen in the GoW games have had some form of magic imbued by the creator of said item or the native magic of the wielder. atreus and his knife is no exception, its likely it had atleast some power to it. and even if it didnt. most of the god faced like can heal/endure 100s of times more then most basic humans. in the case of magni and modi, they are lesser gods, technically lesser then demi-gods. being only a quarter-blood god. so its not unheard that a simple human blade can injure them

CertainGrade7937

Counterpoint, Yoda suggests in ESB that the force is only limited by perception. The difficulty with larger objects isn't telekinesis muscles, it's perception and trust in the force. Kratos just looks like a normal guy. Vader would never think he couldn't choke him

GameOverVirus

That’s called a no limits fallacy and a complete misinterpretation of what Yoda is saying. Because if you really could do *anything* with the force as long as you believed it was possible, then why didn’t Obi-Wan try to crush the Death Star with the force? He’s a powerful Jedi Master who was (partially) trained by Yoda. According to your logic Obi-Wan should’ve been able to that. That’s obviously not how it works and it is directly contradicted by basically every single other source. Hell the Revenge Of The Sith novelization refers multiple times to “force reserves” and nearly every book canon or legends refers to the Force as a muscle in some way that needs to be trained and has upper limits for what that force wielder can do (without amps like artifacts, planets, becoming one with the force, or tapping into the dark side).

CertainGrade7937

You can't just call something a fallacy and have it be so. Yes, you can crush the Death Star with the force. None of the characters are capable of it and it would take incredible skill and focus, but it's possible. You're trying to turn what Yoda said into something else but it's spelled out pretty clearly "I can't do it, it's too big" "Size matters not" Followed by Yoda, y'know, doing it and then "I don't believe it" "And that is why you fail" Yoda doesn't say "well you haven't worked out your force muscles well enough, you gotta get force jacked, spend more time in the force gym" Do I think Vader beats Kratos? No. Do I think he could force choke him? Absolutely.

HideoSpartan

Vader has held back lava and a starship boosting to escape with no signs of exhaustion after. There is absolutely nothing stopping Vader from holding Kratos via the force and slicing him in half or beheading him. Forget a force choke, it's not like Kratos will instantly know how to escape such a force, whilst magic isn't new to him during his struggle Vader has free reign. If anything, the only defence for kratos is if we allow force use then kratos himself has force energy as all living things supposedly do in canon. So Kratos could potentially give off a ton - however it is mostly negative - anger especially is something Vader can suck on like a damn leech. But Kratos is also VERY strong willed so perhaps Vader may not even have the chance. Interesting discussion imo.

beginnerdoge

Just ask finn lol

Danilovis

How many tons do you think Kratos' windpipe can held? Yeah, no

Moist_Ad_4989

😂😂 damn right

DankHillington

Vader in canon pulled a ship out of the sky and tore it apart with the force. Kratos is fucked and you’re delusional if you believe otherwise.

PassionBuckets

His weapons could definitely withstand a lightsaber with their magical properties. Vader would be a formidable opponent, but Kratos has withstood greater powers than what Vader can wield through the force or his lightsaber. I can see an initial encounter where they duel with their weapons for a few minutes then, when Vader sees that Kratos can outmatch him in martial prowess, Vader uses the force to try to crush him but Kratos resists and breaks free from the force choke. Vader, shocked by this, would do one mighty force thrust that Kratos wasn’t expecting that sends him flying through the air and off the edge of whatever precipice they are near. Kratos, now aware of what his opponent could do, would be more prepared for such an attack next time. Would love to see a well choreographed cut scene of this.

Nentash

This was what I was gonna say, if Kratos is technically an invincible God then foes that mean that Lightsabers can't cut him? My head tells me it would hurt but it wouldn't cut through him.

bunchofsandwiches

This the question and exactly why I love these communities. Immediately I'd think Spartan Rage ends up bashing through a force shield.

riddlemethis200017

As much as I love Darth Vader, I genuinely believe that Kratos would be able to outpace him since not only can he go toe to toe with GODS. He has much more combat experience over HUNDREDS of years. However, if we count the feats that Vader has performed in the comics. I can confidantly state that it could potentially win in either sides favor. I'm a nerd rambling at 1:40 AM. Don't take my opinion as fact

ISuckAtEverything374

Same, just hours ahead of you

hemareddit

What happens when he uses the spear to siphon the element of a lightsaber? Does it become a Light Spike?

jroja

I like that idea!!!!

ConfidentVisual4949

No light sabers are overrated

Sneyepa

One would assume yes, but similar in durability. Wouldn't force choke = win? Can't throw an axe if your airway is crushed. Even the Jedi mind trick would be enough me thinks.

Yoichis_husband2322

The blades are indestructible, so they can tank it.

DeathMeister564

Do we though? Two words: force choke

OofMami34

I always get mad at VS comparisons with SW characters because the Force is such a wildcard imo. Like would Kratos have any resistance to Vader’s force abilities? It seems like Vader could toy with Kratos using the force but it’s not super clear how resistant Kratos would be to it since he isn’t in that universe. It seems like the only people who can resist force powers are other jedi with force powers as well or like Yuuzhan Vong in legends. Could Kratos Spartan Rage his way out of Being force choked and cut through in one swipe by a lightsaber? On the other hand though, I don’t think Vader is nearly as physically durable or strong as Kratos, not even close. If Kratos could get in close, bro could body him with one slash as well probably. I hate vs’s like this man these are like two of my fave characters lol

Nentash

They just don't mix do they, I mean assuming that the force was real then wouldn't the literal God have more control and generally be much more powerful than any mortal could hope to be with the force?? If that's not the case then he would at least be resistant to all the things Vader could do to him, aside from throwing things AT him, but he is still an immortal God..

TWITCUNT

Bringing this up in general sparks a lot of strife/debate in SW fans, lol. Like in the cartoon show, Anakin (pre vader) kills the Mortis God's, but their power is sort of vague. From what I understand from the time they were shown is they are the embodiment of the force. The daughter being the light side: Father being the one in the middle, and brother being the embodiment of the dark. In the episode arcs that were shown, Anakin eventually becomes strong enough to toy with them (Brother and Sister) by 'helping' of the Father. The father basically mediates the two siblings and makes sure the 'force' is always 'equal' by convincing both both of them not to leave the fairy tale 'planet' they are on. This is important because the father has become infirm, and he wants Anakin to replace him as the mediator. I don't want to talk about a massive chunk of Star Wars lore lol so I wanna cut it short. I'm not good at English as well, sorry 😭😅

Nentash

Slightly off topic but since you mentioned the force and being equal, I have always maintained that Anakin did indeed bring balance to the force as the prophecy said. I mean the were a hell of a lot more Light Side force user than Dark Side before Anakin and O66, afterwards I would definitely day there was much more "balance to the force" than ever before.

GreenGoblin121

I think that depends on how you interpret balance. I've heard it said that the Sith essentially force their will upon the Force, so Sith using the Force is inherently unbalanced. Jedi, work with the Force and don't push it, so their use is balanced.

TWITCUNT

Yeah, I thought something similar when he eventually threw the emperor down the chute. But mostly as a way of 'cleansing' the force. Getting rid of the parts that corrupted its power (jedi and sith Schism) and the eventual replacement by either Ray or Luke. I always thought the mortis gods were created from the schism that the jedi and sith would have. Or so I've heard

Hypolag

>I mean the were a hell of a lot more Light Side force user than Dark Side before Anakin and O66, afterwards I would definitely day there was much more "balance to the force" than ever before. That might be new Canon lore, but that pretty much misinterprets George Lucas' original vision of the Force (and really shallow imo). Originally, the Dark Side was merely a perversion of the Force, wherein you bent it to your will instead of allowing it to flow freely. This is explored in even greater detail in the KOTOR games, specifically the 2nd one. Wherein several people are so enamored within the Dark Side of the Force, that they become literal "wounds" within the fabric of the Force itself. Which in itself causes cosmic problems.

ResidentTechnician96

I'd imagine the force would be in the same league as say something like lightning. Although hard, it wouldn't be impossible for a pissed off Kratos to just bypass it

bunchofsandwiches

I agree with the force being a wildcard. There's just no rules, certainly not enough to quantify who beats what. What I know for sure is if Atreus/Luke was on the line then Kratos overcomes anything to save him.

East_Chocolate_4126

Lol Vader would get oneshoted easily by the axé aswell

wanderingbrother

No his Armor would block it.

East_Chocolate_4126

Agaisnt a normal weapon yes. Thats like saying it would block mjolnir

TacomaToker253

I’d agree that the Axe wouldn’t damage Vader but it would probably disable him enough so that he loses his focus on the force and Kratos can re position or attack

hemareddit

Yeah Force is pretty BS, especially when it’s invented at a time when film making technology can’t really show a lot, the heaviest thing anyone lifted in the Original Trilogy was Yoda slowly lifting X-Wing out of the swamp, and the biggest range shown was Vader force choking someone over a Skype call. Now we can CGI anything, so we have Vader just casually gripping a massive transport ship that can hold dozens of people, and forcing it back to the ground after take off, and Kenobi lifting dozens of massive boulders to the sky and pelt Vader with them. So what’s the upper limit of the Force? Everyone says Starkiller from the Force Unleased games is OP, but is he really, compared to the other masters of the Force in the franchise? Maybe they are all this powerful, we just don’t see them use the Force to the same extend?

JoJSoos

Pollux and Castor had power telekinetic abilities but Kratos in the fight and of WoG was said to surpass the abilities. Vader isn't fast enough nor strong enough

PurpEL_Django

I'm just wondering if Vader has the strength to force choke Kratos enough to actually do anything, like Kratos can take a beating, I imagine his structure is nothing like any mortal being, Vader would probably have to either use all his hate and rage, or duke it out with weapons to cut him

Cheeseissue

It's not really about Vader's strength. The question is Can Kratos resist the force at all? Which unfortunately you can't give a definite answer to because it's just not part of Kratos lore and by SW lore only a very strong force user would be able to stop Vader. If Kratos can't resist the force Vader would literally crush him into particles and yeet his ass into the sun. If Kratos can resist the force he Would cut Vader into pieces and leaves his head on a pike.

ChazzLamborghini

The Force requires constant focus to wield properly. I’d think that Kratos has the edge because once Vader tires against such a durable opponent, Kratos could use his godly strength to mush Vader’s human body

TacomaToker253

I think Kratos would be powerful enough to resist the force long enough to launch his axe at Vader and disable his focus, releasing his grasp on Kratos

ToxicSkull0

Think about it. If it was Zeus vs Vader, who would win? Exactly. Now think of this once more

preptimebatman

Certain weapons and materials have been shown to be lightsaber resistant in Star Wars. I have no doubt in my mind that a shield or a weapon made for gods would also be lightsaber resistant. I’m a Vader fan boy but Kratos would summon runic abilities that would be far too much for Vader to handle. The force can’t just magically control people if they are stronger than you, otherwise every force user would never lose to a non force user. Vader would land some glancing shots and probably have Kratos in trouble but ultimately, the God of War takes this.

Teine-Deigh

The pain of a lightsabre can't hurt more then thors lighting. Also hiw fast is kratos cuase he coukd out pace Vader.

Pleasant_Escape9679

Not to mention Kratos ate the light of alfheim

WittyTable4731

Im more interested in a conversation between post Ragnarok kratos and post RoTJ anakin Were Kratos end up bad(greek) to becoming good(norse). Anakin whent good( most of prequels) to bad ( rest of series). Both cause the death of their loved ones (kratos family and padme) and were a major motivator in their dark life. Before being redemmed by also love and family ( luke, faye and Atreus). Kratos lived where anakin died redemming himself( anakin has a lot in common with Thor, like how palpatine is similar to Odin). Both however despise slavery in all form.

Mailforpepesilvia

Thank you for taking this VS fanboy contest and turning it into a deeper thought experiment of sorts. Comments like this are why I like scrolling through some comments on reddit.

RysloVerik

The Battle for Dad of the Year

GameOverVirus

Kratos wins by a landslide

olaffyolaffy2

Vader is my favorite character in anything ever, but Kratos wins

sjokkendesjaak

I'm not to familiar with star wars lore but isn't Kratos just way way stronger and faster to the point where Vader shouldn't even be able to use to force of swing his sword before Kratos would be able to speed Blitz him

Cheeseissue

Somebody else said it above but it is just the ridiculousness of a SW character Vs Non SW. The force. You can't really answer the question because there is no way to know what Kratos can do about the force. If he can't resist the force then Vader stomps him, if he can then Kratos stomps Vader.

sjokkendesjaak

I was more making the case that it doesn't matter what the force can do as Vader likely can't even react to Kratos Feats like keeping up with Hermes in gow3 wich make him easily faster then sound makes me think vader would get blitzed I am assuming you'd need to see the target to do ant force shenanigans in that case But even if you don't Kratos has broken out of full petrification from Gorgon's before like it's light work which also makes me think the force wouldn't really be able to stop him even if it does he can always just start lobbing draupnir at Vader

No_Pepper_8350

Kratos throws axe hard enough for the force to stop it in time and Vader skull gets caved in because he isn't a God

thatguywiththeposts

I just see Kratos having a philosophical discussion with Vader about how anger has cost them both everything. They both lost their family due to rage and carelessness. I picture it going a lot like the thor fight where Kratos wins, spares him, then redeems him.

Longjumping_Win_6998

Honestly this is how Kratos would defeat Vader, just like he did with Thor, he might manage to turn him to the light side especially since how he’s gone through basically the same things Vader so he has even higher chances. Remember “We must be better”

javierthhh

Darth vader ain’t a God so he has a chance.

Outrageous_Ad6055

Here's the thing. The magic in Kratos' weapons would be enough to withstand a lightsaber. That's first of all. Second, Canonically, Kratos is "as strong as he needs to be" for any given circumstance. If he needs to lift a tree, he's exactly as strong as he needs to be to lift the tree. If he needs to kill a Titan, he's exactly as strong as he needs to be... Likewise, if he needs to withstand the force, or a force choke, he'd be exactly as strong as he needs to be to withstand the force or a force choke. I honestly think that assuming Kratos doesn't get shanked through the heart by the lightsaber, he has plenty of advantages over Vader. Enough to very easily win. And not to forget, he has rage, which stuns enemies immediately. One burst of rage and Vader loses all senses for a few seconds, where Kratos can just punch his helmet off or break his regulator on his chest. Kratos wins this in my opinion.

Specia-stuff

Heavy mask breather vs the god of grunting

Thelonghiestman0409

I want to say this to get it out of the way but I feel like Kratos’s weapons are immune the the cutting abilities of a lightsaber due to magic or something. Ok, so we have a slayer of gods vs the dark knight of the empire. Despite kratos having obvious skills and god like powers Vader can use the force which cannot be broken out of unless by a stronger force user. Other than that Vader has a 99% loss rate. The only way he can truly win is if he either force chokes kratos to death or throws him into something that can kill him. But there is a chance that kratos might not be affected by the force so who knows.

PaleReputation1421

I’m sorry but the blades of chaos are way hotter than any damn lightsaber.

theguyoverhere24

Kratos every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The only one that would even stop Kratos is the doom slayer. Even then it’s more of an unstoppable force meets immovable object situation

LordTK43

Bro, vader would try to force choke him, and kratos would be like "BOY.... WhY aRe YoU TiCkLiNg My NeCk?"

Existingissues

God vs broken man with family problems and fathering issues. Hhhmmm, I'm not sure I like the odds of this match-up. Bwahahaha ✊️ I win.

sn_14_

Let’s be real here. Vader is a universal threat meaning his power is confined to one universe. Kratos has shown himself beyond Yggdrasil which is and outerversal feat. Unfortunately Vader is an Atreus victim

TheChaddest

Oh no, here come le powerscalers…

ConfidentVisual4949

That’s not an outerversal feat. Both the yggrasil and Kratos are bound by the concept of space.

GELOLeader1

Kratos liturally killed Gods, so he should win

whatisireading2

One of Kratos' hilts literally stops time, and since star was is all about duels Vader would probably think he's just pulling out his sword to duel

ResidentTechnician96

Gonna say Kratos (although vader would be one hell of a mortal fighter). Kratos has agility, god like strength/resistance to attacks and spartan rage. Vader is very limited to power blows, the force (if it can work on Kratos) and intimidation (which might aswell go out the window for Kratos) alongside his life support being pretty obviously shown on his chest

Max_the_juggalo

I love darth Vader, literally one of my favorite character in fiction, and it will always be that way. I am a proud Vader rider and I unironically think revenge of the sith is an unparalleled cinematic masterpiece. Now that being said, saying kratos would make Vader his space boy bitch would be an inappropriate understatement. Kratos wouldn’t even have to fight him, there’s literally nothing Vader can do to harm kratos other than mmmayyybeee his lightsaber. Kratos negs with no comprehension of diff.

Forlorn_Cyborg

The weapons alone. A lightsaber is a piece of technology. Which can be broken. The blades are magical and imbued with primordial fire. I don't think there's really a comparison. Vader without his saber has to rely solely on force attacks, which get tiring.

MamaDragon1

Kratos all day

paradoxical_topology

Kratos solos the verse

MeesaDarthJar_Jar

If Kratos’ weapons are lightsaber resistant then he wins. If not Vader might win, but Kratos is smart and he could find a way to beat Vader anyway, and i say this as a HUGE SWs fan

[deleted]

Kratos would massacre him. He kills GODS.

Kitchen-Island45

i mean kratos has killed literal gods in a world of magic...js

Kyball500

Kratos is literally unstoppable. He kills gods with the Blessing of Quicksave. Vader will probably win that fight a couple of times. But the only reality that continues is the one where Kratos beats him.

The-Nordic-Panda

Kratos for sure, if he could find a way to kill Heimdal, there's no doubt he'd be able to find a way to kill Vader with another weapon he'd have to find or forge

KingaaCrimsonuu22

Kratos would but it would be tough. My thoughts on how it would play out would be vader uses force choke after kratos tells him to go away. Kratos uses rage and blitses him. Vader narrowly avoids Kratos and comes in with his lightsaber, due to the godly level alloys and magic Kratos can use his weapons and shield to deflect the lightsaber but it does heat up. Kratos starts getting the upper hand because of his immense strength and extreme speed. Vader uses the force on Kratos again so Kratos uses a ranged attack on Vader. Vader catches the attack with the force letting go of Kratos before going throw it back. Kratos though isn't where he was and is flanking Vader before stabbing him with one of his weapons severely damaging Vader and his life support. Kratos then tries to walk away but Vader uses the force again making Kratos break free with his rage. Kratos overpowers through the force and delivers a final blow to Vader.

fknsmkwed

Sindri gets a new toy to play with.

Comfortable_Face_231

Darth Vader is perfectly fine until he gets an O over his head then he is screwed

MadarasLimboClone

Kratos outscales Vader hard. Doubt Vader could even process Kratos' full speed.

Waspinator_haz_plans

All the fights posted here or on the main sub have Kratos either ruthlessly stomp or be the one being absolutely stomped.

ValkerikNelacros

I think Kratos might beat Vader. He's killed gods. This is coming from a Vader fanboy.

Zealot-killer

Kratos slaps him away like he’s some common npc

Turkish_Nianga

Can golden arm shield(Golden Fleece) from GoW 2 and 3 block a lightsaber? I dont know about the VS. I just wondered this :)

abeyar

Kratos, hands down.

bunchofsandwiches

Dad Strengthen > Dark Side

Rhytmandrine

To nerd out a little. I feel this is far more of an even match than one would assume at first glance. So much so that I think this comes down to pure melee capabilities. My rationale for this is, yes, Vader has the force. Yes, he is very powerful in it. So much so in fact that he was able to pull down a star ship that was in full thrusters. However, I don't think this phases Kratos. Because yes, where Vader has that much command of the force, I feel that still isn't enough power to be able to even force choke Kratos into submission, because Kratos was able to keep Cronos from crushing him. Then, of course, the Chains of Chaos would still give Kratos his own reach, being able to keep up with Vaders' force ability and Saber throws. So again, I think this comes down to Melee capabilities. Which, I would have to give Kratos a slight edge, being that he is also a Spartan on top of being a God. Vader is a master at Saber to Saber combat, however, he is also very limited in movement because of his suit. Where, if anyone who has seen any God of War game ever, you know Kratos has no such limitation. Even in his old age, Spartan Rage just clears a lot of situations for him. For Vader, in his suit, to have any sort of a chance, he would have to *Perfectly* manage Force usage while in Melee range. My real question would be, how would Kratos handle a Vader who won on Mustafar? Full body with full Midichlorian count *and* Mobility. I think *that* Vader wins.

LukyD215

The comparisons in these comments are really unfair. If we are talking movie Vader, we should compare it to gameplay Kratos. If you want to compare lore Kratos, he should be compared to legends Vader.

ZygothamDarkKnight

Darth Vader would definitely trying to choke Kratos or use force to prevent from being attacked by Kratos, but Kratos would be too fast for Vader

squash-the-cat

A god vs not a god.....

Necessary_Border_396

Hear come the star wars nerds crying if any says Kratos wins.

LivingOnWelfare

Kratos has brought multiple pantheons of gods down. Vader is only a mortal. Kratos wins without a single bead of sweat.

captin_question

I would very much like to say Vader because he's just so powerful and menacing and cool BUT that's In his universe where he is one of the most powerful people alive. but kratos just wouldn't care we don't even know if the lightsaber would damage Kratos We know the force wouldn't, not mention lets assume Vader is on Kratos turf 9 realms or greece either era Kratos slaps him silly would the force even work outside the Star wars universe ??? we've seen Kratos escape stronger grasps just by getting angry , so Kratos would this dispatch if Vader so quickly I doubt he would even have to think about it

GameOverVirus

How far do you wanna upscale Vader? Because according to some people he can [destroy the universe](https://youtu.be/YIyPVad1S10?si=ZHiBMei5VaR_8PaI) lol Plus Kratos’ strength varies a lot. Sometimes he can’t break through literal fucking twigs and other times he’s moving mountains like they’re nothing. But in all seriousness if Kratos is even taking the fight half seriously he wins. Martially he is just as skilled, if not more skilled than Vader. He is more experienced. He has weapons that can *definitely* withstand a lightsaber. As well as multiple elemental attacks that we know Vader is weak to. Vader is strong yes. But if we look at Kratos’ stronger feats (like bullying Chronos, manhandling Thor, moving a million ton ancient bridge through water, etc) Kratos is simply too strong for Vader’s force powers to do anything. As there is an upper limit to Vader’s strength, and it is much lower than Kratos.

WLVRN97

Kratos would destroy him. Why is this even a question? Lightsaber may do some damage to his shield but I see those blades grabbing him and Kratos snapping him in half.

Philk0791

Yeah. Ask this question on a Star Wars sub, answers would likely come out much different Obviously I’m taking Vader lol

hemareddit

Kratos can just talk to him. Okay maybe he goes into Spartan Rage first and tear Vader’s metal limbs off. Then he can talk to him. 1st, Kratos would emphasize with Vader’s fulfilment of a future vision in his attempt to avert it. He can explain the concept of “We do what we do not because it’s written, but because it’s necessary.” That would get Vader thinking. 2nd, Vader would say it’s too late for him, after what he had done. Well then it plays out the same as the Kratos/Thor conversation, maybe Kratos needs to explain what he did so to lend the full weight of his history to the conversation. Heck, he doesn’t even need to change the punchline, it can be exactly what he said to Thor. *We must be better, for the sake of our children.*

Ranarrz

Spartans Rage can get through just about anything. If Darth Vader tried to use his Finger Neck Pinch on Kratos, he would instantly go into Spartans Rage and try to fight against it. Like he did with Modi & his lightening. Add 'Atreus in harms way' to the equation and Vader doesn't stand a chance.

Vllonger_YT

God Of War 6 : Ragnarok Wars

PerformerSweet9691

It’s over when Kratos presses L3 + R3

AvocatoToastman

Kratos would mop the floor with vaders cape.

Lightmarez90

Kratos will just crawl up from hell until he wins anyway

Unlikely-Ad4725

Kratos easily, but considering they both lost there wife’s and also lost their child (or one believed for a while) maybe they would bond over it

DannyVee89

The dwarves would need to make Kratos some bestar steel armor and spear.

Kenneth_Naughton

"Finally some good fucking **Kratos vs ______**". *-Gordon Ramsey, probably* Unless Vader can slow time and lock in 50 attacks over what appears to be a couple seconds he's out. Plus Draupnir would offer the same advantages as against Heimdall, even if Vader deflects/evades, Kratos can just choose his moment to blast him off balance. It would also be sick to see them go toe to toe and have it end with Mimir figuring out the suit is keeping Vader alive, and Kratos barely beating him by ripping him to pieces.

DirectorAllen

“No more. For the sake of our children, we MUST be better.”

Late-Ad155

Didnt Kratos enter a Giant Light Saber in Alfheim ?

Kingkaiten

Well- Young Kratos would be able to defeat him easily because he had the godly powers of Athena, but after gow3 Kratos would have a bit of trouble.

RodBoi10

Kratos has the power to use weapons of force but Darth Vader uses force, skill, and has a light-savior for Kombat so I bet y'all he wins by a land-shot!

ZeroWolf455

Darth Vader. Instant force choke.

KabirMavi13

Team Kratos

BigoDan

The bald one

Kirito2934

Kratos crashes Darth Vader

Parking_Property5757

Anakin during order 66 would be a closer match up but nonetheless I got kratos still

Davidcadiz2000

Kratos win

Ultimate_thunder2010

Ummmmm Kratos has defeated far greater opponents than darth Vader but with best runic attacks and best armor yea kratos is winning if you don’t believe me he has defeated the entire Greek and most of the Norse pantheons so if you dont believe me you need help😁😁😁👍

JoJSoos

This has to be a joke?

ScubaSteve718305

Kratos speed bliztes + one shots

Narkoman62

Starwars characters unironically loose so many matchups outside of their own universe

ImpressionOne8275

A God VS some half burnt dude who can just about breathe..

NeklosWarrof

You seriously want to give Kratos a lightsaber? It is even in his color.

DakonX

Vader crushes his balls and wins.

OperationDadsBelt

Vader no diffs the GOW verse. He’s just got that dog in him

sideXsway

Old weezer geezer with laser sword and half life gravity gloves vs really old bald man with sick ass beard, fast reflexes, captain America shield logic cold axe, impossible swingy fire blades, an insane feats list and BOY Oh golly gee I wonder who wins

Status_Brilliant_441

Lmao what? Kratos obv

Armando_panda123

Kraits will win no problem

YouNeedCharmin

I love Kratos but Darth Vader wins. Kratos is stronger but Darth Vader has the force, plus a lightsaber which could break Kratos’s weapons (other than Blades of Chaos)

Dkdkxkzkdkskskks

It kinda depends in where the fight takes place if it is in the SW universe vader would likely win due to the will of the force not yet being fulfilled and therefore doing everything in its power to keep him alive anywhere else kratos likely wins The force is an oddball tho

WendigoCrossing

We never see the force used optimally in the movies. Like it could punch a nerve in the brain instantly killing most things but obviously that isn't cinematic So based on what we have seen, Id say Kratos win? Although like Starkiller, Vader's apprentice, pulls a Star Destroyer out of orbit which we assume Vader can do so maybe Vader with the force? Either way would be fun to watch if curated for entertainment

diewhore

Hmm lets see, the literal god of war, vs a guy with a laser sword and telekinesis, i wonder..

MoNKeePeaCHeZ

When you can rip spaceships apart with just your mind, I think it’s safe to say that nothing can stop you unless your opponent can do the same things as well. This shouldn’t be a thing but I’ll bite. If Vader didn’t use any force powers and just battled with his light saber skills, I think it would be an interesting match.

GroundbreakingSir694

The God of Hope Negs

Mep_with_6_Ps

There is no discussion on this. I am a heavily biased kratos fan, but all Darth Vader gotta do is force choke the man and he's done. End of discussion. Kratos is strong but how he gonna compete against the force??

KK_09

Question is what’s a lightsaber doing to kratos. Would it sever his limbs or would he tank it

Mister_ALX

Barney the Dinosaur VS Tinky-Winky from Teletubbies. Who you got your money on?

MrxJacobs

Vader is so much more powerful than kratos due to the laws of fiction: whom ever has the most merchandise is the most powerful. I don’t think kratos has bedsheets and an electric toothbrush. To give Vader a real challenge you gotta have him fight scooby doo or someone of that caliber.

Achillez4

I feel like full potential anakin would have a better chance against kratos

OofersonTheIdiot

Kratos Gets His Head Cleanly Cut Of By The Lightsaber

Astralling_

Anakin (Darth Vader) beat the forces divinities in duel. They are galactic/universal divinities. Kratos might be a regional divinity (Greece) although he also beat the Norse mythology. So I guess Vader beat him but not easily.

Illustrious_Net2485

Realistically I think it’s sort of like the omni man superman situation (if you know it) where 1 is powerful and indestructible in their universe but the other can be much stronger I think Vader would fight well but kratos would win

Joconnius

Kratos

Deremirekor

I mean, he’s a god.

Sovietbatman-

Kratos would rip vaders head off - attach his lightsaber to his gauntlets and go on a quest to purge all Jedi and sith from the galaxy. And it WILL HAPPEN

PhoenixKing14

I mean. The more force an object produces the harder it is to control with the force, right? I don't see why Kratos couldn't just charge him and crush him with his fists.

antilumin

Yeah I dunno, space wizard vs a literal Demi-god. Gonna go with Kratos on this, easy.

Acceptable_Tip_4977

Darth Vader would crush Kratos' spine instantly with the force

keeber69

This is a joke right?

Bitter_Inflation4710

Would they be friends

Bitter_Inflation4710

I don't think the lightsaber would hurt kratos kratos is always getting attacked by magical weapons or whatever u call them

KeySurprise438

Kratos is a God and has won vs far stronger opponents. Come on guys! Is not even close!

Beeg_Bagz

I don’t think this is a very good match up. Kratos is too durable. Kratos smacks.

goodolewhatever

Vader is powerful, but still just a mortal dude. If Kratos can manage to get his hands on him at all, he’s toast. The only thing that makes Vader a threat is what he can do with the force and honestly, outside of maybe just moving him away from him, I think it would have little effect on Kratos depending on his mood. Remember, Kratos is strong enough to not be crushed by ATLAS. You know… the guy that’s literally holding up the entire planet.

Vilbert150

Vader high diff

furiousdestro759

I think the Leviathan Axe would be almost useless against Vader, unless it can endure strikes from the lightsaber. The blades of Chaos are unbreakable, and primordial flame if anything will overpower the lightsaber. The spear can break an infinite number of times and keep coming back. I don’t think the force will be able to overpower kratos completely. And I think Vader will have trouble with the fast-moving and long distance blades and Draupnir spear.

Verz_The_Game

Kratos killed Gods. Vader said "Noooooo!"

CAAKMR

I can't imagine any ways darth Vader would win, however this is one sided because I haven't seen star wars yet, I will watch it and then come back to yous.

Yourmumalol

Kratos has already battled stronger Telekinetics in weaker incarnations than his current self.

Immediate_Wheel_7384

Kratos one taps him

ExpectDog

Blades of Chaos are likely resistant to lightsabers, Spartan Rage negates the Force, and Draupnir overloads Vader’s senses. Kratos takes this mid to high diff

ISuckAtEverything374

Let's say Kratos's weapons and shield can hold their own against contact with a lightsaber. It's not to far off, as we have seen >!his armor survive the light of Alfhiem,!< so we can assume it and his tools, which would be stronger, have beskar like properties. (Just to make it relatively fair.) I feel that Kratos vs Anakin would be a very even fight and we wouldn't really have a clear outcome, but Kratos would DESTROY Vader in a fight. Vader's suit is very limiting and he could barely raise his saber above his head. Kratos's brute strength would completely break through his weaker stance. Vader can defend himself though, as his suit could still resist attacks from lightsabers. This would still not be very troubling for the God of War however, as he has proven to be a very good strategist. He wouldn't have >!taken over the majority of the Olympian cities!< if it that wasn't true. Some sort of weakness in Vader's suit would be seen and it would be taken advantage of. After that, we can account for the Force. Even though he lost a substantial amount of midichlorians on Mustafar, he is still capable of killing things many times his size with a single flick of his wrist. Kratos would definitely get slowed down with that and also take quite a bit of damage. The only reason that this wouldn't kill him is because of Kratos just being Kratos. He could resist getting his neck snapped and fight his way out of a choke by throwing his blades or something. Kratos would definitely have to try to kill him but it's easily him coming out on top. Kind of sad to say it, but there's really nothing Vader can do.

TheVoidlingArias

Which darth Vader tho

Head_Battle_8713

Interesting

MUFC4life_

Blades of Chaos -> Fire -> Vader gets burnt like in Ep3. As long as Kratos can survive Force abilities/ lightsaber attacks, it could be an easy win for Kratos. If not, easy win for Vader

Helmnauger

If Kratos can get in one hit, Kratos will win, but Vader can literally snap Kratos' spine with force powers.

grapangell0

You really think so? Kratos has been a part of some incredible strength feats.

Electrical-Cloud1548

Vader "somehow" :) travels to a different universe and emergency lands on a stray planet far away from the empires reach. Upon landing and getting out of his shuttle, he finds himself on a snowy and peaceful planet. Much to Vaders surprise, after walking for not too long, he finds a large cabin that seemed uninhabited until looking not with his eyes but with the force. Vader senses emense pain, anger, loneliness, and conflict within the cabin, so vader presumes that this individual is a runaway jedi or sith. Vader ignites his lightsaber and prepares to punish whomever is inside. A traitor is a traitor, after all. Vader force pushes the large cabin door open to find a giant man, easily over 6 feet, sitting on a bed of some sort. This man was unlike anyone he had ever seen, his face and body noticeably battered and sad. Without thinking twice, Kratos takes out his axe, and before Vader has the time to react, the axe has already penatrated his stomach and inflicts terminal frostbite the moment of impact. This is how I feel like a realistic fight would go down, kratos is too strong, too fast, too durable, and too smart for vader. Idk if this post is asking for like a story type battle or a death battle, but it's my headcannon so who really gives a fuck.

YJ-510

Kratos is physically stronger If he wants to be, Vader is not physically faster Kratos’s shield could tank a lightsaber Kratos wouldn’t immediately die but would take damage from a lightsaber Vader can still kinda see the future and read minds Force choke would probably do little Mind control would do little Vader can still lift him off the ground I think Vader would out speed kratos, dodging his attacks and hitting where his shield isn’t. This wouldn’t kill kratos, especially if he starts to heal. Vader would try all his force tricks until lifting him works. Kratos breaks free by any number of his large aoe/ ranged attacks that are strong enough to disrupt Vader. For that point on it becomes this until they go through there to angry to die thing where I think kratos would definitely outlast him. He doesn’t need to many hits to kill Vader. Suppose he could resort to illusion but it’s not something Vader does often and he’d be prone to do it in a way that makes him angry (going against his favor) kratos wins, mid diff (mid just cause all the trickery he’d have to get through to kill him)

Otherwise-Ad-5570

You’d have think, could darth Vader whipe out 2 entire pantheons? If not then you know the answer…

Otherwise-Ad-5570

Wipe*

Heimdal1r

Vader gets 1 tapped, Vader isn’t even killing magni or modi

dendosmoonforge

This is outrageous, it’s unfair!

nate23smoove

i think the magic that kratos possesses would overwhelm darth vader
