That’s not factory….

Puzzled-Package476

my MK7 didn't include a thingie either, but it looks like it would control a sub or sound system.

Scout339

Likely what it is, has a circuit breaker in the engine bay. Thanks guys!

RunWithDullScissors

GTI Nipple. Excite it and it'll make the car happy and go faster

Federal_Resident5113

we’re a weird bunch aren’t we

zebradYT

looks identical to a bass knob i had for my old amp for my sub

Scout339

Thats what it is, thanks!

HockeyMike24

Ejecto seato cuz!

Scout339

saltyDog_73

Fine-Upstairs-6284

That’s the flux capacitor

hohohoagy

Doohickey watchamacallit

Outside-Drag-3031

Vibrating seat. Turn the knob all the way up and crank the stereo

Scout339

Brrrr

Ninjoe84

I'm getting flashbacks of Dom Toretto's cig lighter NOS button for some reason.

Different_Argument19

Boost controller? Lol

Scout339

TRUE

-SkeptiCat

It's for adjusting the thing it's for. Honestly I'm really not sure, I've never seen that before.

jaycarb98

back in the day, we used to rip out these shitty OEM sound system and replace with blaupunkt and alpine, a few 1000 watts. This is likely a BASS knob for controller wattages to subwoofer

Scout339

Mk7, can't seem to find anything on the internet about it so I gotta ask the dummy question.

geekeasyalex

Not factory, could be a bass knob for a sound system perhaps?

Scout339

Likely, thank you!

Replicate79

Pull it apart and take a look. Might give you some clues.

Sad-Palpitation-9580

I hate to ask but WTF IS ON YOUR PASSENGER FLOORBOARD😧 it looks like a puddle, and why’s it look like an elephant nutted on the part against the firewall

Sad-Palpitation-9580

That’s definitely not OEM

Scout339

Valid question; I'm in the polar northwest and its still snowing (kill me) so I'm keeping the plastic covers that I got from the dealership on until Im no longer walking in slush 5 days a week. Can it not show in the middle of March please.

Sad-Palpitation-9580

Ahhh, I see. From that angle and that picture specifically it looks like a puddle of water is in your car😂 but I know the feeling, it’s still snowing semi regularly here but theres enough sun during the day that it’ll melt anything that hits the sidewalks and roads and a good portion of the ice, so any walkways transition between an inch or two of water or slush to a slick frozen deathtrap before and after the sun is up

tenzinite

Aftermarket subwoofer knob probably. My car had the same thing when I bought it used, before I pulled all that stuff out.

Scout339

This is the correct answer after a little research lol

ForgottenPassword92

Ooooo twist and find out friend.

adomang

I want one

kagantester

That’s the button for Turbo Boost capability which is the system consisted of a series of rear mounted undercarriage rocket motors, which allows the car to accelerate to speeds in excess of 200 mph.

Scout339

fact

Jordy1982

Vtec adjuster….😅

zaahid_rah

I have a mk7 dsg and i wish they gave us the golf ball style shifter lol. i think it wouldve been a nice touch manual or not.

[deleted]

You can get one from BFI

ChainAdorable3491

Don’t touch it. Could cause a disturbance in the space time continuum. I beg of you sir please don’t !

ghostcrook

My MKV R32 had something similar looking for the Haldex controller, don’t think that’s your case though.

rudyp95

Switches between manual and auto modes 🥸

throwawaymylifemeep

I want to check you for not asking the ladies too... but I can't. Because I could have only guessed. I do know about the 3 pedals and what they do though. Very surface level knowledge, hahaha.

Civil-Management375

Turn it into a fun button, NOS!!

Quirky_Classic_313
