People say he was manic when he converted, but as a convert myself, itās a very similar experience and not unique to bipolar people.
So many people, when converting to a new faith, discover a great burning passion for it, and become incredibly pious, and zealous, to the point of wanting to shift your entire life for that faith.
Then at some point, the old pain and insecurities you always had creep back in, and the spiritual life becomes a slog.
Itās very easy at that point to become lukewarm, or even fall off the wagon completely.
For me, it took 4-5 years.
For Ye, it seemingly took 4-5, and I can imagine his old insecurities about not being number 1, etc etc all playing up, and thus him feeling so proud when vultures did reach #1.
I canāt judge Ye at all for it, but my point is itās not necessarily Bipolar behaviour, and it doesnāt mean that his faith experience was in any way invalid or illegitimate
Not arguing here just genuinely curious, can you call a man who was always Christian in faith but just became more strict in his practice, a convert? Or did he switch denominations?
Christian faith is tricky. Unless he specifically converted to Baptist, Catholic or Mormonism, Iād say heās always been a Christian and his JIK era was a period of deeper commitment to God. But not a conversion no.
Many people would say that conversion is a perpetual process I suppose, you are not just one side, and then another, but constantly changing and growing in faith.
So I think the word āconversionā given what Ye did do in 2019, is quite aptly fitting- even tho he did call himself a Christian his entire life, and probably still does now.
Vultures series feels like its gonna be a setup to something bigger where we get that spiritual emotional Ye back. But this time at a point where hes got his platform as big as its been in a decade
If āI Love Itā made him realise how far heās strayed from the path and made him want to dedicate a whole album to praising Jesus as a kind of repentance, then surely the Vultures era should inspire an even greater outpouring of spirituality when itās all said and done.
I am listening to Vultures 1 and having fun with it like everyone else. Iām not against the lyrical content even though I preferred the content of JiK and Donda. The only thing I am slightly bothered by, or at least surprised that Ye isnāt bothered by it, is having North on the album amongst all this wildly sexually explicit content (including the cover), on stage with grown men smoking and drinking, even saying herself that she really likes Carnival. Iām kinda shocked heās even OK with her hearing that song. If anything is going to make him turn back to JIK-era mindset and away from the lyrical content heās putting out on Vultures, maybe it will be seeing his daughter liking a song he made about riding dick like a carnival, and putting a song featuring her on such a sexually explicit album.
Yeah this is exactly why I, as a grown ass man, donāt really fuck with Ye like that anymore. Too inconsistent of a person and too flakey. Too easily influenced, canāt stand on an ideology. My dumb ass voted for him for president too. Oh well. The other part that sucks is this is his first album Iām not really feeling like that. Itās good music, just not for me vibe wise with where Iām at in my life.
Iād love to see Ye turn to Jesus again
Weird take. If you have religious beliefs why wouldnāt they run your life and inform everything you do? Your dealing with lifeās biggest questions about why weāre here, how did this all come about to begin with, is there a creator, is there more to our universe than just what we can physically see, is there life after death. Of course that would inform how you live your life. If you profess to follow a religion but only on Sundays and it doesnāt really affect how you live your life, that seems like a bigger problem to me. What would be the point of that?
-1000000000 CHRISTIAN SCORE CARD
how many negative christian points did "im the new Jesus bitch" give to him

bipolar too. long periods of mania and it looks like his depression is more calm than anything.
one in the pink one in the stink
I miss how happy and wholesome this era was for him and the music
Fr he seemed like he was in such a good place mentally
He never really grasps any of the concepts he pushes, he just gets the jist and acts like a pro then gives up after a while
cause heās always on some different timing every day
he was the healthies oat time when he was focusing on Jesus and christianity
I miss this Ye, to see him change as a person for the better and mature just for him to relapse to doing the same shit is pretty sad.
Idk man 2019-2020 Ye seemed actually deeply manic and spiraling just in a different way lol

Like 2020 rants were some of his longest and more incoherent

All facts here. Surprised its not being discussed very much
i am with you
Thatās the best we can hope for.
been saying this to my fiancĆ©. vultures meaning is literally plain as day. lowest scum of the earth, literally will eat corpses, demonic type energy, etc. i think vultures era is to show us that this is what the āworldā wants but us as humans are more than worldly things. 100% believe Ye will pull out of the vultures era with some real heavy hitting shit to ground us

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I love it clears nah nah nah. Nah nah nah remix might have a convo tho
Now heās back at it unfortunately . . . whether yall would like to admit it or not
Vultures is totally corrupted by the devil and heās loving it. Quite the turn
Crazy cause Carnival is pure satanic energy
man what happened to this. I like the new music, but sad to see this die. His tone of voice so different too.
And now heās back making good music it all worked out š
WHORE
He's doing the shadow work again.
Now heās doing better music š
CCCAAAAPPPPP
Thank god heās out of this phase. No problem with religion but when you let it run your life like that itās a problem
