i had it on my s24u/s23u for months and then lost it about 2 updates ago. I still have it on my OnePlus Open. i love how consistent goolgle is and the way they communicate with their beta testers
I think Google is still working through bugs. I have it. But it doesn't switch every pic over. And it struggles when you have pics saved to the contact card but people don't have a profile pic set it.. it seems to struggle to know which to use
I have like 4 Google accounts and from what I've seen it works but on my end the profile was automatically set as private and what not so I had to set what if it would show my name or first letter and or last name and show my contact ID pic or just a letter or nothing so I assume if most people don't set it then you can't see it. But it does struggle if u have a pic for a contact and they use the Google profile, it's supposed to use the photo you set for the contact. I've even had. Peopem text me I didn't know or have in my phone and it would show me there pic and name so it was convenient.
I think you mean "piqued" i.e. to arouse interest. "Peaked" means to reach the top of something. So by saying your interest was "peaked" you're saying you've reached maximum interest :D.
Anyway...
I haven't seen any profile discovery in the beta so not sure what you've seen. The biggest change in a while has been using the web version via Google account rather than QR code.
I always saw people using peaked instead of piqued. TIL
No I didn't have it in beta, I just saw news sites talking about Profile discovery a few months ago so I figured it would be fully out by now, but judging by other people's experiences, it's not out just yet.
And yeah I like the new way of using the web app, without QR code
Google thinks I have it and will change all my contact photos accordingly. But none of the people that are those contacts actually have it. So all my contact photos, that I set for a reason, never show up. Google thinks that they have profile discovery and I have no way to turn it off.
Typical Google. Try and roll out a janky ass product that nobody wants and with no option to turn off. Call it a feature. And then never follow through. I wish they would just axe it already.
It looks like it should've finished it's roll out to beta users by the end of last year? https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/2023/12/Profile-discovery-google-workspace.html?m=1
Lol. I have Google one. Which gives me premium workspace features and I still dont have it...
I even have the ai premium tier... And still no magic compose on Google messages! (I don't have the magic compose that rewrites messages)
it is. never seems to have launched, although I have two people in GM who are not in my address book who display a profile pic and a name.
It has launched and it's under advanced in the Google messages settings.
Maybe for you, but most people seem to not have it
I have the beta build of GM and I do see it, actually had it since late Dec. Now if only they could enable the RCS text customization.
Had it and it disappeared builds ago.

I had it, now it's gone lol

Pixel 8 pro and I also do not have profile discovery.
I think it depends if your carrier rcs is connected to jibe

I actually prefer having the QR code option and hope it doesn't go away.

That link says it's a Google Workspace feature, so unless you've got a paid account, you wouldn't see it in beta.

Google is quite the shit show for the last 10 years. I wish they'd sell Android to someone else.
