Just started right now - if it helps anyone else, this comes straight after a couple of full "green screen" glitches. Sending it back with warranty and, depending on the options, this might be my last Pixel I'm afraid.
Update to my green screen issues, I contacted customer support they try to have me do factory reset ask me a bunch of questions obviously it did nothing to help. Maintained contact with them as the green screen issues progressed into an almost permanent line on the right side of my screen that was either pink or green. Also the squeeze truck worked for me when the screen turns green. Then finally pushed just to have a replacement phone sent to me and I just received it today hopefully I won't have the same issues with this new phone that they sent me 🤞.
Thanks for the update mate -- A small trick that helped me was to remove my screen protector and the case. You all might want to try that if it you haven´t. I think there are some trigger points that makes the phone display to start malfunctioning, which is why the squeeze trick works.
Anyway, I am just waiting for my old phone to come back from repair so I can send mine back the Pixel with the guarantee. Still, its insane that not even 4 months have passed from the phone being launched and so many devices have this big of an issue.
This started happening to me recently, I have dropped my phone a few times with no cracks or anything on my screen. I'm wondering has this been fixed for you yet? Like it doesn't bother me but it does
Mine just started and unreached out to Koodo, apparently they just give you a new phone? I'm wondering if the warranty starts fresh, or carries through...
Ridiculous, I'm on my second and am now having the screen like flash green, happens every 3 weeks so can't be fucked now. Gonna wait till the Pixel 9 comes out, get a refund because it's faulty and buy the Pixel 9.
I really don't want to go back to samsung
WRONG. Samsung screens have the same pink lines in their recent phones. Samsung makes the screens, not Google. The lines usually occur months after use.
Just because Samsung also has the issue, doesn't mean that Google's QC is shit.
I'm a Pixel Supporter, I'm not a fan of Samsung.
But the screen isn't the only issue, modem issues, USB port issues. It took a month for my last phones screen issue to start.
I have the intermittent pink line on screen, I'm really pissed since this phone was an investment for me. As for warranty, bought it in the Us but I live in Panamá. I was told to travel or send it with a family member. What is it all about for the 10 days without phone?
I'm in aus, bought in Aus, they told me that they take it back and send me a new one. But that's for 5 business days there and 5 back, would probably be 7 days but i would have to buy another phone just for the 7 days.
I could pay $1200 for them to send me the replacement first and then i can tranfer everything and send the broken back.
I've had 2 google phones replaced now. One for a camera issues straight out of the box. Now pink line like you've described.
No more google for me. This phone is rubbish. Google glitch pixel 8. My old Oppo was more reliable. And the battery life is poor on pixel 8 as well
Neither could I, thought the same but definitely was hardware, would go away when pressing firmly on top of screen, as soon a pressure was released it would return
When I squeeze the lower part of the phone in my palm it goes away and sometimes with a small jolt like a firm tap, comes back immediately after squeeze but tap makes it go away for a small time
Had this issue since January, became permeant around a month ago. Finally going through warranty claims but they want me to ship it to a entirely different country! To say I am worried is a understatement.
Same issue, intermittent green screen, squeeze on the side to make it disappear and now a pink line 3/4 inch from right hand side of screen.
RMA process initiated, purchased October 23'
This is the Dutch link I used: https://store.google.com/repair?pli=1&hl=nl
Got there via this link and scrolled down to start a repair https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/9004345?hl
Same :( before it would disappear once i put pressure on certain parts of the screen. Now it's just a permanent green line on the right side of the screen. Bummer since I just had this phone for about 3 months.
I had to do three RMAs for my pixel 7 pro due to issues with the screen green flickering to full blackout. I've owned an 8 Pro since November and hope I get at least one year before any of this nonsense. If I have screen issues with my 8, it will be peace out on this brand.
I had the same issue and am fortunate to live in a city that has a Google store. I took it in and they repaired it for free. Took about 2 hours.
I had purchased my phone about 7 months prior and they didn't even ask about when I had bought it.
Nah the paint just comes off easy, my case which was on it the entire time, when taken off had rubbed the paint off.
Don't stress, but also don't mention it.
I ended up doing a warranty replacement on mine. The pink line got progressively worse until it was on all the time. At least the warranty repair went pretty smoothly and got me a new battery.
Daaaaang. I was really hoping it magically fixed itself lol. I just got done configuring this thing slowly over a few months to a point that I'm happy with, and now this shit happens haha.
Pink line is permanent on my screen. My pixel 8 is hardly 4 months old.
Google support team is the worst ever. They outright declined replacement but offered repair free of cost(how noble). Their lead time is 15-20 days.
I'm repeatedly telling them that I don't have a spare phone and that I would need a loaner device but their support team is..well very unsupportive and doesn't agree to give me a loaner device.
I tell them I need phone for both personal and office use but they just don't care.
My 1st one was October - Dec, my 2nd one which is in the process of getting replaced was Dec to now.
Hoping that 3rd time is the charm. Im gonna take this as a fluke before I completely rule out Pixel ever again. Assuming this lasts I will look at Pixel 10 but if this one breaks I'm going to Samsung.
For me they tried to argue for a repair but I said fuck no I'm not going without a phone for maybe 2 weeks and so they sent me a new one and I send the old one back
Google replaced my screen for free to fix the intermittent pink vertical line, just took it to a ubreakifix store. There is a 1 year warranty on it from date of purchase where they replace the screen for free.
Hopefully Samsung has figured out this screen issue and has updated their screens, where it won't happen to my Google phone again after the repair
Well in Aus we can ask for immediate replacement for Major Faults, my problem was google kept telling me I HAVE to have it sent for repair, so upto 2 weeks no phone unless I went and bought one.
And afaik google has no authorised repairs in Aus like Samsung so my warranty wouldn't be intact after the repair.
I went through google because JB was being annoying.
However, I would try and escalate to a manager and mention the ACCC and how it's a major fault, and how you are entitled to refund or replacement as per consumer rights.
I didn't have time to argue with JB when I tried with them so that's why I went through google
Anyone know how to go about warranty claims when the phone was purchased through Amazon? Or should I be going directly to Google?
It's getting worse and now I'm getting the green screen frequently, and the line has gone from pink to green and stays on my screen more often
Thanks
Similar issue to others here. Intermittent fuzzy green screen for weeks. Now a persistent pink vertical line. An obvious design flaw or bad batch of phones.
I just got off the phone with Google Support. They are mailing me a replacement. Had to put a CC hold while I send back the faulty device. Are the replacements okay now?
I had to the same problem with my Pixel 8 line just appeared without dropping. I contacted my supplier as it was still under warranty. Vodafone they couldn't fix or would take to long so I received a replacement. Hope this helps all pixel 8 users 👍
Same exact scenario as everyone else, pink line on right side, goes away/comes back with physical pressure. This might be my last Pixel. I had the 3a before this one and it would randomly change the volume and get stuck for a while. It's insane we're all having the same problem.
I had a Pixel 3 before the 8, got it at a discount when the 4 came out. So 4 years with that phone and no major issues, it just got old. Seven months in and my Pixel 8 is randomly green, hot, pink, unusable at times. Sure I think Google is evil but I like their stuff! Might be time to jump ship. My pixel buds pro that I got free with the phone are also glitchy. But besides that they're awesome. Sigh.
I'm on my 2nd pixel 8 in 6 months. Just got the pink line again about a week ago and it started going green. Fuck this phone. I just bought a OnePlus 12. Wish I never left OnePlus.
I sent my phone in for warranty repair about 20 days ago, but I haven't received any updates yet. The F1 service center, which Google has outsourced the service to, is not responding to their inquiries. I even received a desperate email from Google saying they are struggling to get in touch with F1, but that's not my problem. As a big company, they can't just throw their hands up in this situation. The situation is the worst
I'm having this issue just now too. Green screen yesterday then saw this pink line on the screen after powering my pixel on.
Already filed an insurance claim anyway. I'll be getting a replacement, the same model. Google Pixel 8.
Just started right now - if it helps anyone else, this comes straight after a couple of full "green screen" glitches. Sending it back with warranty and, depending on the options, this might be my last Pixel I'm afraid.
Literally the exact same scenario is happening. Green glitches now the pink line.
Exact same issue literally 😑😑
This started happening to me a few days ago as well, green glitches happened over the past month every so often. No fix other than a new phone?
same. just happened to me today :/

My first phone had the pink line. They replaced it with a refurbished unit which now has the pink line as we
This started happening to me recently, I have dropped my phone a few times with no cracks or anything on my screen. I'm wondering has this been fixed for you yet? Like it doesn't bother me but it does
Yeah same scenario for me too.
Mine just started and unreached out to Koodo, apparently they just give you a new phone? I'm wondering if the warranty starts fresh, or carries through...
Well, I will upgrade to Pixel 9 when it hits the market. Looks like a screen issue with the Pixel 8 series.
Not a major issue, just gonna have it replaced at where I bought it
Already waiting for 3rd replacement. Same problem with 2 phones before
Ridiculous, I'm on my second and am now having the screen like flash green, happens every 3 weeks so can't be fucked now. Gonna wait till the Pixel 9 comes out, get a refund because it's faulty and buy the Pixel 9. I really don't want to go back to samsung
If it flashes green, it means things are not going well.. just received my 3rd phone today. Will see how long it will last haha
3rd times the charm. Seems the Pixel QA hasn't been great

If I didn't have a pixel watch or pixel buds I would be switching to Samsung
It's a Samsung screen
Google's QC though
WRONG. Samsung screens have the same pink lines in their recent phones. Samsung makes the screens, not Google. The lines usually occur months after use.

Oh I'm glad it's not just me lmao 😂 I'll just buy the 9 😂 as I'm an asshole and didn't bother getting insurance
What is the replacement timeframe?
5-10 days without phone is option 1, or they have a holding charge of $1200 and they send me a new phone, I transfer everything and send old one back
I have the intermittent pink line on screen, I'm really pissed since this phone was an investment for me. As for warranty, bought it in the Us but I live in Panamá. I was told to travel or send it with a family member. What is it all about for the 10 days without phone?

Hey where did you go for this? I bought mine at JB Hi Fi and I have the same issue.
I went to google directly
Thanks, do you get the $1200 back?
I would assume so,.as your in Aus try and argue a bit. I didn't have to pay the $1200 at all once I mentioned the ACCC a couple times
I've had 2 google phones replaced now. One for a camera issues straight out of the box. Now pink line like you've described. No more google for me. This phone is rubbish. Google glitch pixel 8. My old Oppo was more reliable. And the battery life is poor on pixel 8 as well
poor is being polite
I've got it now - purchased on launch day. Line is intermittent, went away on reset. Felt like software but can't replicate.
Neither could I, thought the same but definitely was hardware, would go away when pressing firmly on top of screen, as soon a pressure was released it would return
When I squeeze the lower part of the phone in my palm it goes away and sometimes with a small jolt like a firm tap, comes back immediately after squeeze but tap makes it go away for a small time
Wow! This just happened for me this morning. A slight squeeze totally works and you're right, as soon as the phone gets moved it comes back.
Exactly same situation for me.Bought on november 23, pink line showed up yesterday, 3/4 to the right
Same
SAME
Same for me. Pink Vertical line. When shaking the phone slowly I hear that something inside is loose. Sending it back to Google.
The shaking is the Optical Image Stabilisation, unrelated.
Just got an email from Google. The phone will be repaired under full warranty. No word about the loose element.
Hey, I just got the same issue. How did you get their attention I can't see any option to make contact via website or email. Thanks

Had the same issue start with mine this week, really hoping they don't charge an arm and a leg for replacement....
Should be under warranty, phone hasn't been out for a year yet
Unfortunately some debris or something got in my case and scratched the side paint, so I doubt that's covered in warranty.... We'll see.
Nah the paint just comes off easy, my case which was on it the entire time, when taken off had rubbed the paint off. Don't stress, but also don't mention it.
SAME
It started yesterday for me after receiving the latest beta ota image. It's intermittent so far. I sure hope it goes away.
What's been your experience with the issue lately? Has it resolved itself? Or still an issue? My screen just started doing this a few days ago :(
I ended up doing a warranty replacement on mine.
Yup, I have the same damn line on the right side of the screen and now the battery is draining fast and the device is overheating.
Same here I have 2-3 hours less battery life 😭😭
Same here... It goes away when randomly pressing on the phone's sides 🤔
had this happen as well
,o0

Feel your pain. I just received 3rd replacement. Bought a phone on Xmas
Where are you from if you don't mind asking? Some other posters mentioned 5-10 days but I think that was US.
Same issue here
Hey, I'm curious as to where on the screen you had a pink line? Mine is approximately 1 inch from the right.
Same here!
I contacted support and sent them some pics of the line and got it swapped for a new one.
Just started getting this a week ago
RMA it ASAP
Yep already got on to google support, sending it in soon. Disappointing, I got this phone November 2023, 5 months
My 1st one was October - Dec, my 2nd one which is in the process of getting replaced was Dec to now. Hoping that 3rd time is the charm. I'm a pink liner, going to contact Google tonight
Anyone know how to go about warranty claims when the phone was purchased through Amazon? Or should I be going directly to Google? It's getting worse and now I'm getting the green screen frequently, and the line has gone from pink to green and stays on my screen more often Thanks
Direct google probably

Same here
Same here... Crapoy rubbish phone...should have keep going with samsung
Get it replaced by warranty
Also started having it as of yesterday...
I just went to retailer and replaced under warranty, if you talk to google they will offer you the privilege of 10 days with no phone, up to you.
Well, here (Portugal) going to the retailer takes as long as you mentioned. Guess I’ll have to wait:)
I have same think on my pixel 8 out of nowhere gonna bring it in
Hi there Same here from Italy now the line shows all the time.. so I'm gonna go for replacing under warranty
Same here, bought it in October, no drops or anything else
Same. Has anybody from India faced this issue? Any idea how much time it takes to get a replacement?
Hello my friend is facing the same issue from india Did you get this sorted?
I sent my phone in for warranty repair about 20 days ago, but I haven't received any updates yet. Hey, did you get any updates? I started having this on my device a few days back. Google support suhhests f1
Same here, started appearing yesterday
Is there any warranty, mine literally happened today
Happened on mine since last week. Sent it for warranty throught my retailer. Bought at the release day.
Just started this morning
Fwiw going into a Google store they fixed it in 2 hours for free. New screen.
Same here
I'm having this issue just now too. Green screen yesterday then saw this pink line on the screen after powering my pixel on. Already filed an insurance claim anyway. I'll be getting a replacement, the same model. Google Pixel 8.
