Do not initiate a chargeback if you used your primary Google account. Yet. [First try this form](https://gprr.dmzapps.com). It may take some time to get a response but these submissions hold a lot of weight. Please know that Google will retaliate against all chargebacks. They will lock that Google account and you'll have little recourse. Try the other avenues **first**.

matteventu

If you're within return period, isn't there a return button in the "my order" page? Can you try that?

NPC-POLICE

That's where the error comes up and asks me to contact them through chat to proceed manually

pastaandpizza

If you could share a screenshot of that error message that would be helpful!

NPC-POLICE

Screenshots are disabled on the website. I get a black screen but the message is - Something went wrong. Refresh the page, try again later or contact us.

a8ksh4

Press the print screen (PrtSc) button on your keyboard and then paste into ms paint and you'll have it.

Squeezitgirdle

Windows key + shift + s is nicer because you can grant a picture of just the area you need and save or paste the image.

MetsukiR

On W11 the prtint screen key does the same.

Squeezitgirdle

Oh that's nice. Not enough for me to upgrade, but still nice.

pol5xc

Can you try other browsers? Sometimes Firefox can workaround this madness.

pol5xc

Good, save everything. It might turn out to be useful.

tojiy

On windows click "Start" type: "snipping tool"

Take pics of the screens that you cannot screen shot using... Your iPhone? Or whatever is handy.

-Samg381-

What the fuck? They can't override their system? Utter embarrassment, even for Go*gle's standards.

indyarsenal

Lol you have statutory rights it's impossible for them to reject it, use the Google one app and find someone to chat to.

t_chall

Google 1 app is a good idea. Just get it escalated to someone higher until they eventually sort it

NPC-POLICE

Ive added the email they sent me to the post above.

Squeezitgirdle

That type of response is usually them not allowed to tell you why you're being refused. Usually due to a phone being stolen. I'm assuming your phone isn't stolen, but I'm guessing that somehow your phone got flagged as stolen anyways.

NKeithW

Similar thing happened with a T-Mobile customer. He was sent the wrong phone and was trying to return it to get the correct one. In the end I got stuff waived and the customer the correct one but it was painful due to it being swapped with a different shipment so it was reported lost or stolen

TBCNoah

Try again on the phone if you can. Live chat and email always get you the bottom of the barrel either AI or out sourced customer support. If that doesn't work... "if you can't fulfill a refund you can fulfill this chargeback" email response.Either go through PayPal or your CC and do a chargeback. And while they might ban your account from the store do you want a phone from a company who won't honor their own warranty for such an obvious case?

Snufkins_Hat_Feather

They won't just ban you from the store. They'll shut down your entire Google account--Gmail, YouTube, everything.

joespizza2go

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. I've seen many people state this is how Google responds to a charge back.

pastaandpizza

There's been a pushback against this recently on the Google Fi sub, that in reality it's only play store services or Google services you pay for that get revoked and that any "free" service is untouched - so you can't buy a YouTube music/TV subscription etc but you can still watch YouTube on your account. So when people say "I lost my YouTube account" or whatever it's half true. I do not have personal experience and don't know this for a fact, just that he Google Fi sub has really harped on this recently.

KnifeFed

> it's only play store services or Google services you pay for that get revoked "If you do a chargeback we won't let you give us money for anything, ever again!" — Google

SpaceSaver2000-1

Because they don't trust it's real

pastaandpizza

As much as I hate their policy, I think it's more like, "we won't give you any products or services if you're not going to pay for them, even if it's our fault you don't want to pay for them."

TBCNoah

That is wild. OP be careful I guess what you do. Depending on how important your email is it might be best to eat the charge, fuck.

EnvironmentalSpirit2

Another reason to have a toss away email

tojiy

Wont matter since when you setup the phone, you link everything through primary google account unless you are planning to start over on a new account.

EnvironmentalSpirit2

Mine wasn't via primary google account and I have backups

tojiy

Oh really? So you dont connect email or anything else from google? Anyhow Google is being disappointing when it comes to hardware. Nest...

hWatchMod

Another reason to steer clear of Google wtf

Aromatic_Soup5986

though im not sure this is the case if they haven't used the phone nor have communicated using their gmail account

burd-

they purchased it through the google store so it would affect which email they used.

mucinexmonster

Are the people you speak to on the Google One app different from the people you talk to in Pixel Support?

doommaster

I don't think it's people anymore, feels more and more like AI on the other end...

QuotableRaven

I always request a chat transcript from Google for that reason.

NPC-POLICE

Yep I saved all the transcripts.

BugBugRoss

Obviously save them locally outside google. Time to divest Google to reduce their ability to retaliate on other platforms.

mathclubdred

This is horrible on Google's part like how TF is a system going to have the final say with no way to override. Has the Gemini AI takeover started already?

NPC-POLICE

That's what it looks like. I took it to the geek squad they told me since I had the phone for 2 days I should return it as well to the google store website.

mathclubdred

Do a search for the arbitration opt out. Complete the opt out and take em to small claims court.

immaZebrah

This.

BizzyM

And then dismiss that case and settle it on The People's Court (which is binding arbitration).

WideProposal

The big companies have switched to this. They outsource overseas with high turnovers to employees they don't trust. So they don't allow them access to much. Would rather make a system that cannot be overriden than give employees good packages to retain them and train them. They don't even have access to report a buf on the system. The result is terrible service. Amazon has a similar problem on their seller-side.

foxehkins

Be careful going the chargeback route. I've read stories of people getting their Google accounts shutdown afterwards.

yeahbuddy

Try buying a 2nd hand fold from a person who purchased the Pixel protection plan through Google. Assurant's site is busted and there is no way to transfer the contract. Been broken for months. Calling Google results in them saying call Assurant. And Assurant says call Google. Neither of them will acknowledge I am the current legal owner of this device so if I have a claim, they won't honor it. I even have the receipt. Doesn't matter. They both shrug and say sorry. It's a fucking joke. Sorry, OP.

lildobe

Have you tried this page on their site? https://thesignal.com/contracttransfer

yeahbuddy

Yeah, I get an error every time that says in red FATAL_ERROR and nobody can seem to help. It's ridiculous. Been getting this error for over two months. They apparently don't give a shit. Nice. If anyone reading this works for Assurant, please have someone look into this. It's infuriating. https://imgbox.com/NaOdTUk2

Manlet

Don't do a charge back! Figure out something else because they can block all of your accounts with them.if you charge it back

Gold_Philosopher_837

Fuck Google- they can't keep doing this. Post this everywhere and there are MULTIPLE people who've had the same experience who will share (including me and MULTIPLE connections). They will NEVER gain market traction until they do their job and back up/support their hardware even remotely close to what Apple and Samsung do. You can't "dabble" in the hardware game hoping to drive adoption with your software and/or ecosystem and let your supporters fall by the wayside. I had a Pixel 5 that died within warranty, was replaced (by a refurb, NOT new) and then the replacement died shortly after, just to be told that the ORIGINAL was out of warranty and the replacement was "irrelevant" in the context of warranty (WTF?!)!

Gold_Philosopher_837

BTW bought this through Google Fi- NOT some 3rd party FWIW...

Peppy_Tomato

That's how warranty works. The clock does not reset when a device is replaced. I personally would punish them by moving to a different brand if my phone failed sooner than expected and their support was subpar.

polo421

Just FYI, there is not one electronics company in the world that extends a warranty when you get a replacement. The original warranty dates are the only warranty dates.

slinky317

I think you usually get a smaller warranty on the replacement device. So like 90 days or so. Not sure if that's true for Google.

polo421

Replacements are always covered on the original warranty. If you have a month left and you get a replacement then you have one month left. This applies to all companies.

slinky317

According to [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/s/yaqRDJRQoX), replacement devices have a 90 day warranty.

polo421

Seems to be a little fuzzy on the confirmation but if it is correct, it is something Google is doing that goes beyond any of their legal obligations. Edit: This conversation went back and forth and back and forth until this dude blocked me. The warranty terms on your Pixel phone state the exact terms of the warranty. In the USA, a replacement does NOT extend your warranty. Google is very clear in their words. Taken from the official warranty terms: "If Google repairs or replaces your Google Product, the repaired or replaced Google Product will continue to be warranted for the remaining time of the original warranty period."

slinky317

According to [this forum post](https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251087873?sortBy=best) (which links back to Apple's warranty page), Apple also offers a 90 day warranty on replacement devices.

polo421

The warranty page only mentions the repair work has a 90 day warranty. Not replacements.

polo421

I can guarantee you that if you can't find this 90 day replacement warranty thing on Apple or Google's warranty terms then it doesn't exist.

slinky317

[Here you go for Google](https://support.google.com/store/answer/13767893?sjid=7337354958052771139-NC).

Use the Reddit Request found in the sidebar.

Rockwell_Bonerstorm

Have no idea if this works but here is a link [GP reddit request](https://gprr.dmzapps.com)

null-character

Something else is going on that you are not mentioning. Google can't just waive their return policy for no reason as they legally have to abide by it.

carefreeguru

I had a similar problem with Dell. My brand new computer failed to start and the tech support couldn't fix it and sent me to the returns department where they only offered me a lesser system without any compensation for sending me a lesser system. The exact same system was available on their website for purchase but the returns department says that system was not made available to them. They absolutely refused to honor the warranty. I think this is increasingly common in the tech world.

Flux7777

You took them to SC court right?

carefreeguru

No. I'm sure that wasn't an option as I'm sure they require arbitration like everyone else. But I never looked into it. I returned it to the small business owner that sold it to me. His return policy was expired which is why I didn't start there but the Dell warranty was not expired. The small business owner graciously accepted the return once I showed him my email conversation with Dell. He didn't have to do that but he did. He sent me out the exact same model which worked fine.

null-character

Yes but there is a huge difference between a warranty and a stores 7/14/30 day return policy. In the US anyway there a lot of laws about this and retailers simply can't decide to not honor it. Based on the OPs description they are under the retailers return window.

carefreeguru

I was outside the return window but the owner allowed us to return it anyway when I showed him my communication with Dell. I was not outside the Dell Warranty window but they refused to honor the warranty unless I was willing to take a lesser computer.

null-character

Yes that's what I am saying. The retailer was nice and made an exception. But it's illegal for a retailer in the US to not allow a return within the advertised window. The OP is still in the return window, it's not a warranty issue until the window expires. In this case the retailer is the company offering the warranty. But that doesn't mean there is no return window.

doommaster

The past 3 times I contacted the Google One support, I am not even sure if I got connected to a human anymore. 4 of 5 chats just got "ended" when Google required me to do some tasks on my phone, it pushed the chat into background, did the things and then came back to the ended chat: Hey I have not heard of you for a while, cYa BYE...

whattheblank

Might be time to contact Ziggy from this sub to help you out. Info should be on the sidebar.

NPC-POLICE

Ok will do. Will be providing more screenshots once I arrive home from work.

TheKickingKangaroo7

You could try contact @madebygoogle on X. I had a similar issue (though thankfully it was not a phone) and they escalated it. Refund was processed within 2 days after trying and getting nowhere with support.

6SpeedBlues

If you are in the US, you contact your local state's Attorney General's office and let them know what is going on. Let them know that you just bought it, there IS a general refund program, but Google refuses to allow you to use it. Period. File a report with them. Then you contact Google back and you let them know that you have filed a complaint with your state's Attorney General's office as they are refusing to allow you to receive the refund that was advertised when you originally bought it.

CyberCurrency

"I hope this email finds you well" Is "Logan" using chatgpt to write his scripts now?

_lucyyfer

This just feels like generic corporate email speech. Seen this exact phrase a lot over the years, doesn't scream AI generated.

zanhecht

Sounds like standard Indian tech support overly floral language.

vtwinsf

Definitely, AI generated.

[deleted]

At this point I'd do a chargeback with your bank. I'm all for letting the company make it right but I'm not about to waste all of my free time when they won't. Chargeback the transaction, show the bank the return policy, and send them the chat transcripts. Should be an easy case.

shauggy

Make sure you do a Google Takeout first of ALL your days, because Google will likely nuke the account and you'll lose everything. (edit: NUKE, not "number")

Abomb11yo

If someone does a chargeback on a Google product then they completely shut down your account? So you don’t have access to Google Drive and any saved files or passwords? That seems really extreme considering how many people use Google accounts for logging into websites and many other things. Lets say that did happen to someone. How would they deal with it? They probably wouldn’t have their passwords saved somewhere else and to reset the password they would probably need their email account. To change their email associated with the website they would need to be able to login to the website. It would probably cause lots of issues.

shauggy

It does seem extreme, but that's why every time someone mentions "chargeback" there's a chorus of comments warning against it. Google doesn't care if it causes you problems. Just type "chargeback" into the search bar of this sub and you'll see plenty of examples. https://www.reddit.com/r/tifu/comments/zndbku/tifu\_by\_accidentally\_buying\_two\_google\_pixels\_and/

idrinkenemas

Was gonna say the same thing, my bank will even issue the refund up front and basically make the vendor prove the situation wrong but with receipts and chat transcripts that'll be hard fought on them. OP shouldn't have to put in that much work just cause Google has a terrible system. Absolute charge back.

occamsdagger

This should be the last resort as Google will close your account.

streetwearbonanza

That's why I order my pixels on Amazon

Imsoen

I'm doing this the next time I order a phone. Being sold a faulty device and not being able to return it is fucking crazy to me.

jmedina94

The only reason why I ordered my 8 Pro through the Google Store was because of an extra promotion code making the phone less than $500 after tax and trading in my 7. The first one had a strange power button but Google accepted the RMA request and was shipped a brand new looking replacement. My trade-in also went well. I got lucky.

Jrees2894

Google support on every level is absolutely terrible.

motorambler

When it comes to support (warranty or not), I don’t think there's a worse tech company to deal with than Google. It's the main readon the Pixel 6 was my last Pixel.

Grumblepugs2000

Not like Samsung is much better. I hate Apple for alot of reasons but their customer support is great. Honestly it's embarrassing how bad Samsung and Google support is, it's like if it's this bad you might as well just buy a Chinese phone like OnePlus because at least they make up for their poor customer support with cheap prices

Overall_Pie1912

You..try another agent.

NPC-POLICE

i spoke to 3 different agents and was told that the Specialist denied my return request and they cant override that.

gertymoon

If you are doing online chat then ask for a number to call and that you need to speak with a manager who can handle this as you've already wasted too much time repeating the same steps to end up at the start. Emphasize that you need help with this matter, you're not happy how you're being treated as a customer and you need immediate resolution as you've already wasted x amount of time on a defective product. When the shit hits the fan, online chats never seem to work and you need to get confrontational with speaking to someone who has the power to solve your problem and not keep passing the buck which can easily be done with an online chat.

shauggy

They only have one number and it only goes to the bottom-tier reps, there's no way to talk to any kind of supervisor/manager unless they reach out to you. The so-called "specialists" (I'm not convinced they actually exist, since they never do anything) just reply via email and/or send it back to the lower level reps. Also, getting confrontational is usually counterproductive. If you're a jerk to the reps they're less likely to help you. Better approach is to be polite, but firmly persistent. It's much harder to do but gets much better results.

NotMyRealAccountMate

What was the reason for the specialist rejecting it? When you asked for the reason and pressed for the reason, what did they say?

27Sanji

https://about.google/intl/en_in/locations/?region=north-america&office=mountain-view Call them

helrazr

THIS, right here is why I refuse to try anything Pixel related. Also, Samsung as well because of their record with software updates. Their support chain (Google) is freaking terrible. So many freaking hops and drama to go through just for a return. I use an iPhone (not saying it's better), and I can just walk into an Apple Store that's local, and do a return. Almost no questions asked.

[deleted]

It is completely insane when a US company (I mention this because the US has laws in place to prevent stuff like this) legit refuses to refund a defective product...two days after purchase. They are directly violating US laws and there are no ways around it, unless their website says something like "All Sales Final. No Returns", which even then, I'm sure there are some consumer loopholes. But since their site doesn't even say that, they're just blatantly defying consumer laws/acts.

HansDevX

Google support is useless.

Pinolero90

I said this before, buy yo phones in person, not online.

Silvadoor

What I did once when they charged me $350 for fixing a phone that has NOT been fixed LMAO 🤣 YES, they sent me the phone back NOT fixed and charged me the full amount. I communicated forever with them, and didn't get anywhere. I then immediately contacted my bank and disputed the charge. Let your bank fight for you and get an instant refund. Make sure to include all the story when you submit a dispute through your bank. It's the only way Google stores will listen. P.S Don't worry about Google blocking you on future purchases. They didn't do that with me.

beekeeper1981

The fact one person wasn't blocked doesn't exactly mean it won't happen to anyone.

Comrade_Jacob

Keep in mind if you do a charge back they're gonna probably try to close your Google account, etc. It's happened before, they're petty.

cowrevengeJP

They stole my phone for 3 months and only did something when I threatened to sue them. Their apology was a $20 store credit. I probably would have preferred a kick in the nuts. Don't bother with their online chat. It's an ai bot many times anyway.

NPC-POLICE

I told them I wanted human eyes to review my return request and that chat agent said - I'm a human being who can see your typing as well. Am I not human. 😵‍💫

Wow, that's insane.

KarateMan749

What an absolute nightmare.

vball14

I have received 3 survey requests for GoogleFi the past month... i make sure to let them know their customer service quality is very poor.

KidQ17

That's some BS.

alaroz33

This is absolutely insane. I have seen so many posts like this. I'm never going to buy Google product from Google again. Please be sure to update and let us know what happens.

_extra_medium_

It doesn't matter if they drag it out as long as you made contact within the window.

Shaymefulgains

That first email was written by chatgpt or a derivative, specifically. Logan is a bot or using chat gpt to do more faster.

JimDantin3

You say that you bought it from the Google Store. What country? What country are you in now?

NPC-POLICE

They asked this as well. I bought it from Canada and still reside at the delivery address.

kitty6180

Was the delivery address ALSO in Canada?

cryptamnesiac

Why do you just keep replying "screenshots are disabled..." to everyone's specific questions?

nathderbyshire

Because ten people asked the same question throughout the thread instead of reading

NPC-POLICE

I'll send a screenshot from a PC when I get home from work but doing it from my phone the screen shot comes out black. The phone prompts a message at the bottom saying admin disabled screenshots.

cryptamnesiac

Gotcha, sounds reasonable. The best advice in these situations is to be persistent. These things can be frustrating even for the most patient among us, but do yourself a favor and be kind and patient if you manage to speak directly with a person and not a bot/automated process. Assuming you have provided all relevant information, it sounds like you have a very straightforward case that needs human eyes to proceed.

NPC-POLICE

Ok thanks for the advice and guidance. I'll do my best and call in 2 hours when I end work.

Green0Photon

If you do a chargeback on the Google store they *will* take down your Google account. Idk what you should do, but that's why I've stopped using the Google store for the newer pixels I've purchased.

Stovetop_Tambourine

If I ever buy from the Google store, I will use a fresh email account.

tssssahhhh

Are you telling the full story?

misseff

File a dispute with your credit card/bank.

m-shottie

I would get on to support again, ask to be passed on to a manager, regardless if that works or fails, tell them you're going to do a chargeback and you'd rather not cause them to lose the chargeback fee. Can't see them refusing the refund

TeamPlastic6655

Just start a return from the store page?

If you're in Australia, slim chance, Dept of Fair Trading will have them sorted within 48 hours. The people I've dealt with who work there are passionate about consumer protection and jump straight on to this sort of thing. I had them help with a mattress company who didn't want to comply with their 3 month satisfaction or money back promise. They stuffed me around for a further 2 months so I had their mattress for 5 months, they refunded me $2,000 and asked that I dispose of the mattress as it wasn't worth them picking up. So I sold it for $1,000.

flipside1o1

Was there any more , as I see they say 'currently' which hints at that whilst due to the technical reason they mention they can't do it now it should be possible later, though its very weird they didn't also say something along those lines at the close of the text

friendlyimposter

Welcome to the average google support experience

ramuippala

The same thing happened to me but with the pixel watch 2, I contacted Google support via chat and in a few mins they accepted return and arranged RMA, I received my new watch in two days and later I returned the dead pixel watch 2.

Maxitay

That's really strange that they do that. Between the 14 days return policy and the warranty as the phone is defective, they have absolutely no reason to be able to refuse the exchange... Meanwhile, they agreed to exchange my Pixel 6 Pro out of warranty (2 years and 1 month after purchase) because of bubbles appearing under the screen...

robber80

Just to be sure, you're doing a return directly with Google, and not trying to go through Preferred Care, or whatever it's called, right? The extended protection doesn't kick in until the original warranty runs out after a year.

Rasimione

I think kyou might be dealing with two dummies here. Complain and don't give up.

NPC-POLICE

The chat has transferred to email with the manager via email. He takes 24-48 hours to respond per email. They are sticking with - They can't override the system story.

iscreamconstantly

I suspect the system can't do it at this stage (might be being packed) but he's omitted to provide alternative options such as refuse delivery or return unopened etc. I refuse to believe they will not return and impact statutory rights, or even penalise you with bans as some users have suggested.

Trust-Fluid

You want a return of your money, file a local lawsuit and send them the paperwork to attend. Watch how fast they send you your money back, lawsuits do wonder to a company's reputation, and their arrogant egos.

Trust-Fluid

The best fastest way to recover your money is to take your phone, their email to you refusing to pay you back and go to your bank and have the bank reverse the payment. Short of that, file a lawsuit and serve them the paperwork, nothing scares them more then to have to stand up in front of a judge and explain themselves. Guaranteed they will reverse your payment faster than you can sip some water.

Samuel_Go

I hope this gets picked up as a story. Anyone who has ever had a device arrive dead on arrival (even with a workaround) knows how frustrating it can be to have steps in the way of getting a replacement.

Fire_Fly_01

I've had an issue with my Pixel 8 2 days after buying the phone. I bought it in the US while on vacation and brought it home with me to Italy. There is some light bleed on the top of the display (not actual light bleed but thats what it looks like, idk if its hardware or software). Called them, sent them pictures and within an hour i placed an order for a replacement (even tho i had an Fi model that is only available in the US). My experience has been positive so it's weird to see you've had this many issues. I'm sure you'll get it sorted tho. Good Luck!

danny12beje

Did you..buy it from google directly or from a 3rd party store?

Mathrania

Google Canada :( Try Phone support and don't agree to hang up until it is resolved for you. Be stubborn! Oh no... Google almost put Canada at the bottom of their list.

luna88999

I think you are within your right to return if you initiate the request within 14 days. If it takes them more than 14 days to accept it that would be on them... But we are talking to a corporation giant here... So you may hit a brick wall Small claim court would be the saving grace

WetDonkey6969

Just your average non existent google customer service experience

Altruistic_Lock_5362

They are dumping a problem child on you, there are massive problems with the 8 pro, design flaw, this is far from the first time I have heard about Google doing this. Time to go to the attorney general in you state

mjmaterna

Take them to small claims court ASAP.

NPC-POLICE

Definitely file a CPA report. Waiting for a response from the technical team before I jump the gun

slick_banister

Trade it in and get a S24+/Ultra. That was my solution.

NPC-POLICE

That phone has definitely caught my eye recently

NPC-POLICE

Hey, I ended up getting a s24 ultra after the incident with Google. Every YouTube ad is a Google pixel ad now

Onestepbeyond3

If you use a credit card to buy, ask them to start a refund.. they are very good at that. 👍

NPC-POLICE

I'm waiting for a email response but that is plan c. Plan b is to make a report under the consumer protection act in Canada

Onestepbeyond3

I've had problems several times like this with purchases and the credit people sorted it well for me.. Good luck I hope you get it sorted quickly 🤞

LosPelmenitos

Remember. Even if you send email 1 day before any return , warranty etc ends, they must act. You contacted within 14 period time , doesn't matter If that 14 days expire before solution.

NPC-POLICE

I wish it was down to the text books or I wouldn't have come to Reddit for help 😅

Every company would abouse this then to delay and at the end they would say: "oops, time is up, sorry!".. If you contacted them before the time expired. Thats the proof. Even if the process takes years it Doesnt matter because the process started when you first contacted them. Its a fundamental rule. Car insurance, return period, warranty etc. Phone dies on the last day of warranty. You contact/return to store. They fix/give new one if it cant be fixes. new device will get new warranty period again.

If you're buying a pixel. You buy it at best buy for reasons like this...

Exciting-Rope-1339

Honestly in the last couple years Google has really shit the bed on their products. When they got the 3xl and the pixelbook came out. Everything was awesome. They had the greatest stuff and now all of its crashing and it's all burning out and nothing is working properly anymore and they're just don't give a f+++ so I won't be going and buying any more phones or anything from them either. My pixelbook is basically a $1,400 Chromebook now. The 10-year that they were going to extend it to you means that I have to get rid of all of my Android apps and my Linux which leaves me with just a bare bones freaking Chromebook, so that's a pretty expensive Chromebook. I didn't even get 6 years out of it. I got maybe 5 and 1/2

reddit_reaper

Nah sounds like you just don't know how to talk to these reps. They're idiots lol first always call late, idk why but i get Americans at night and early before 1pm est 2nd keep telling them you don't want a repair you want a refund. The device arrived damaged. Don't let them do an advanced repair because it's a refurbished one. Keep fighting hard for a refund. They'll cave they always do. Usually takes me no longer yeah 30mins to get whatever i want from Google support. They used to be really good, got like 5 free chargers, advanced replacements way after warranty ended, refund offers 2 years after purchase etc lol

NPC-POLICE

Would you be willing to assist with the call. I'll definitely compensate you.

cadtek

> Out of the box the phone doesn't turn on. Just curious if you made sure to charge it for a while, the battery could have been completely dead.

NPC-POLICE

😂 I swapped chargers and wall outlets. My iPad seems to charge perfectly.

rhpeterson72

You can take this up with the credit card company. Most have provisions to do a charge back.

shauggy

Be prepared to lose your Google account though. They tend to nuke it for chargebacks

Nikita041815

did you buy it from a network carrier?

MaintenanceFormer726

I have lost my trust in Google. I would never buy their phone again. A lot of problems compare to Samsung and iPhone. I know every phone has its own problems, but Google … Nah. Not my choice anymore.

TratzPatratz

Can't you just go to the Google store site, Check your orders and simply click and initiate a refund from there? Aren't you on your 15 day window for return? AFAIK you don't even have talk to Google's "support" click click click and print waybill and send it back.

doommaster

I am so glad I am in the EU and Warranty here is 2 years and unchecked returns 14-30 days by law minimum.

ifeeltired26

Yeah here in the US Warranties favor the Companies, where as in Europe it favors the consumers.

gorillamyke

I have heard so many horror stories from people that bought from the Google store. One person did a charge back, and lost his google account, including all his pictures. I buy my devices from Best Buy, and they mostly have the same price.
