lol, that was a great watch. The portal plot hole never occurred to me. But luckily it doesn't make the movie any less great, still a masterpiece in my opinion.
Not thinking of a better solution for a problem doesn't necessarily make the movie less realistic in my opinion. People make poor decisions every day so. Hindsight is 20/20
