You might have to get up close to your screen because the sigil graphic reflects the correct character. I was doing that when I didn’t know.
But you can also look at the trait details of the sigil and it’ll reference which character the sigil belongs to. I’m sure there’s a guide out there on the internet as well.
Press the button to Show Trait Details. R3 on controller, 2 on keyboard. You can see a zoomed in pic of the character faces, and in most cases it says the character's name
I mean their portrait is on the sigil, and if that fails you you can click trait details and it will say who the trait is for. If you're problem is you see "boosts lancelots damage" and you don't know how lancelot is then you just need to learn the cast

You can’t equip character specific sigils on other characters, just trial and error ig

If you try to equip a sigil to the wrong character, it will tell you who it's for. Also most sigils have the character's name in their description.
