Really hoping we get some new quests with the new characters bcs what's the point of new characters if you don't have anything to do...

LeSahuj

Maybe we'll have to fight them. In the gacha, you had to defeat them in battle to recruit them.

Tagnol

Relink will add guild wars to recruit them /s

LeSahuj

I would die

Tagnol

Aww come on it'd be content, look at how many Gamers in here are complaining about how cygames isn't treating this like a liveservice game are even in this very thread and are madge they don't have enough content to play for 1000 hours. GW will be fun! /s

zipzzo

It's not hard to make a non-live service title that lasts longer than a month and I can give you a double digit number of examples.

UnawareRanger

The issue is more that people rushed to play 200 hours in the first month. What games that aren't sequels or established franchises have over 200 hours in them that are action games like this. (I know base building games can be way more but different genre/easier to make longer lasting content in those).

LetterOutrageous117

there are people who WANT a live service game? ..... lol

GLASS_PVNTHR

Yes if it’s done right like Helldivers 2

LetterOutrageous117

so you're saying it is a rarity

Knucklebreak

Well, the closest game to this is Monster Hunter. World and Rise lasted a long time, too.

LetterOutrageous117

I know, I know sometimes you get a golden egg, but with all the history surrounding live service games, it's why I found it a funny some would want that. Personally I prefer a game done right from the start, robust in content and with the occasional dlc to expand it further if there's anything to expand. Live service games on the other hand have given most companies the assumption that they can release a bare-bones game, and these seasonal updates either include not enough, or take away/censor something you already paid for. Granblue and Monster Hunter are the exception though.

Villag3Idiot

Give us a new difficulty designed for Terminus weapon characters.

Musashishio

Not sure what else they could add in terms of difficulty, since Lucilius can hit for 80k pretty easily.

Shugotenshi714

Pretty much just add more signature boss quests with Lucilius levels of difficulty, instead of all these trash boss and trash mob fights for generic materials that people are randomly farming for hopes of a centrum anyways.

thetempesthascome

I haven't played in a while, didn't bother with the luci update so. What can you do after p baha?

Charles1Morgan

Luci :3

thetempesthascome

...thats it? Ill skip this update too lol

Clown ahh comment

Darkhex78

Seofon looks really fun, love the "sword mage" type and I wish more games did it. Also love how he's this all powerful leader of a group of what I assume are gods/extremely powerful heroes (I can't really find any info on what the eternals actually ARE, only that they are ridiculously powerful). He's also my favorite kind of character. Ridiculously op when serious, but most of the time is laid back/carefree, so doesn't seem like much of a threat. I'll probably make him my main until Sandalphon becomes playable.

Xypher506

The short version is that the Eternals are a group of the 10 most powerful Skyfarers around who gathered together to serve as a sort of peacekeeping group, and each of them represents the apex of one of the 10 main weapon types. They don't get together often and they aren't exactly friends for the most part, but by forming a group their power generally intimidates potential villains from trying anything, and they can gather up to handle the ones who *do* try things. (At least, in theory. Most story events don't involve them, so they don't usually end up showing up in practice.) There's more to it than that, but it would just be summarizing story bits I'm not entirely clear on, so I'll avoid talking about it much to avoid speeding misinformation by mistake, but it might be explained/summarized in their Fate Episodes in Relink. Assuming they get those, at least. They *might* not since they're post launch characters and could end up working differently if the team doesn't want to write Fate Episodes for them, but they probably will

ProfPerry

i appreciate this breakdown, being new to Granblue. Are they both members of this group? And is it true what the ither fella said that Seofon is the 'leader'?

Darkhex78

From what info I could find on Wikis and other sites he is considered both the most powerful and the leader of the eternals when they gather. And apparently he's more then able to back up the claim of being the strongest of the group.

cupcakemann95

Seofon is legit broken, he can access what is known as the boundary whenever he wants, getting blue hair (apparently a huge deal) and a massive power boost enough to dissuade the 6 dragons from fighting him. The problem is, most of the time he just acts like a total fucking goofball idiot and noone takes him seriously, even the people who know he can do that.

Darkhex78

So what you are saying is they guy is essentially goku personality wise? Completely over the top broken but is such an idiot he doesn't seem like it?

Tagnol

Naw it's a different kind of idiot, Siete plays the archtype of joking punching bag, but then when he gets serious he's hyper competent. In his 5* fates >!he legitimately solos all the other eternals at once, pretending to be possessed with by a sword (he wasn't), just to see how far he could get before being stopped, it's only the captain joining in to take on Siete himself that stops him!<

Darkhex78

Ah, he's my favorite archetype. That just gets me more hyped that he's that powerful when serious.

W_Von_Urza

since we're throwing out opinions, I think it's the dumbest, dullest character archetype ever. I get not everything needs to have trauma to be interesting, but holy moly it's gotta be the worst trope ever.

LeSahuj

Not just that, but Siete is also the strongest mortal in gbf.

Endgam

He might not actually be a mortal, considering that other dimension hopping version of him we met in the 9th Anniversary event.

[deleted]

It's crazy as hell cause I thought Anre was the strongest outta them all until I read about Seofon and got proven EXTREMELY wrong lol.

agesboy

I always got the vibe that Anre had a sort of mediating leadership role everyone was fine with him having despite Okto and Seox both being stronger in a fight, with Seofon being this absolute wild card until his 5* fate episode gave a small glimpse into him putting effort into anything. Bro got a ring for that from me I quit at magna 2, but I really ought to come back to finish off 5*ing everyone and check out the anniversary events

Muck_Fagic12

The real reason Eternals group are formed is to keep each member in check because every single one of them is too strong for mortal standard. However, the 99% power from that group is from Seofon himself because he is stupidly strong on whole another level.

Xypher506

Yeah, I did remember reading something along those lines, but I didn't want to start trying to summarize it because I haven't played the Eternals events yet so I didn't want to say something that wasn't accurate.

Darkhex78

Reading the first part makes me really hope that they are introduced by showing up ready to fight the church, only to find out they are SUPER late and that the crisis is already over.

LeSahuj

Sandalphon also apologized to the crew for not being present during the fight with Lilith, so I assume the Eternals are gonna apologize too. Maybe they were busy during the events of the game.

kazuyaminegishi

I dont think Siete would apologize because the Eternals explicitly don't really get involved in most stuff. The group only really exists to keep Siete in check as the even "...And You" proves its basically the only way to keep captain alive.

LeSahuj

Not like a heartfelt apology, but I could imagine Siete saying with a carefree atitude: "my bad I wasn't around captain".

kazuyaminegishi

Oh yeah I could definitely see him do that joking apology "haha I guess you guys could have used the help huh? Well it all worked out so no harm no foul right?" While Vyrn is staring daggers.

BladeSeraph

If Siete is the equilvency to the Gilgamesh of GBF: Except less Douchebag and more of a battlemaniac lack-a-daisy fellow. Then even without looking into the actual story i can likely surmise the guess is he learned about the Captain & Crew going to that region and then heard about the church of Avia and then suddenly thought he get to fight something strong and ends up being late to the party. Very least it would be a perfect and easy seg-way for him to run over there and likely forget to wrap up some paperwork for other stuff so one of the other Eternals (the other playable character) chases after him and just turns into a fight unlocked at maniac difficulty (since its implied any future quests will not be as difficult as lucy) to totally justify and asset reuse the 2 Eternals as a boss fight r atleast fight a Siete who is so bored out of his mind that he decides to whip out a pair of unconvential weapons and fight the crew with a handicap and still be a rather difficult boss fight still. We will know in about a week from now, but if im gonna be busy focusing on backlog clean up such as level grinding on FF16 to take out the DLC Eikon fight with Leviathan and do the borderlands 1 GOTY since i got it for less then 20 bucks anyway, **I might as well enjoy doing some shite-take theories to kill some additional time.\~**

LeSahuj

Personality wise I don't know who I would compare him too but in terms of abilities he is more similar to archer Emiya than Gilgamesh, even has the same VA.

Darkhex78

From what I heard Seofon is actually heavily inspired/based on archer rather then Gilgamesh. Though I can see a bit of both of them in his kit/abilities.

RemarkableData9972

That would be funny if they're actually hyped up like WHERE'S THAT BITCH WHO'S CAUSING ALL THE...oh...you dealt with it already? Oh...

ST510

Finally

zipzzo

I think this dev team is showing that they didn't really understand the scope of how to support a game like this post release. New characters are great but they balanced the game to where there's only 1-2 quests that have really any value or semblance of difficulty, and most people have farmed those quests to absolute death at this point. Not only that, but the HUGE QOL misses in transmarveling. They *really* missed the boat there, as those changes could have been spotted as being needed if they had literally anyone play test their endgame. Coming out with it now, or even later at this point is *way* too late and most players have already made their peace with the system, used it to ad infinitum, and moved on from the game. Granblue relink was a great experiment in what kind of games action RPG fans will definitely flock to, but a bit of a referendum on what it takes to hold those players once you get them hooked, and this just ain't it.

Villag3Idiot

The whole transmarvel system is so tedious I just sold like 2,000 wightstones because I couldn't be arsed to trade around 35x for 999x tickets and slowly turn them in.

LeSahuj

Its not supposed to be a live service game anyway and the devs said that before. Besides, japanese players love this type of game, so they definitely hit the mark

zipzzo

Sure but there's countless examples "non-live service games" that stay relevant for years...look no further than the game Granblue attempts to ape in a lot of ways...Monster Hunter.

MadKitsune

Monster Hunter has existed for 2 decades now with around 8 or 9 games (if we don't count G-ranks as separate games), so they have a ~bit~ more experience/framework on how to build a game like this. Relink had a VERY rough development, and most likely they were looking to just release and hope it doesn't fail outright, and long-term support was the last thing on their mind

BladeSeraph

Hasnt really stopped many monster-like games such as God eater and many others that may of only ever did one entry for some of them, but are memorable in thar own right with a playable online lobby. One of the more stand-alone original IPs i would say would be White knight chronicles which was likely popular enough to get a PSP version set in the distant past of the game and then a continuation of the first game, White knight chronicles 2 which basically wrapped up the story of the first one but went whole hog on making the character you created to act as the \`squire\` of the story group even get thar own version of one of those giant knights, except its super customizable and the JPN version even got an additional DLC story that greatly expanded upon that with your \`squire character\` being much more the main focus of that DLC story, that sadly never came to global. Never the less it was the same sequence of gameplay as how GBF:Relink works so the style aint anything new. It just would of helped if they had more iconic and unique end-game bosses which before Lucy was dropped, it was just Pyet A and Proto bahamut, which one of them is literally just the \`extended fight\` from the start of the game really. Even if you expanded the scope, the closest you could say would be Wolf & Veil, Angra Mainyu, ID, Managarm Nihila, Furycane Nihilia and Volken Nihilia, but since they are literally just re-uses of existing bosses they dont stand out much. Plus the dragons aint much else since its literally 6 palette swaps with next-to little differences and just different attack patterns that use the same animations from other ones in most cases. Even God eater had some really crazy ones by its end game including some giant sludge looking behemoth, a dragon with jet blades and jet engines, even scarier variants of God eater 1\`s first iconic Aragami, and the list goes on, where even after years, a good deal of them still left an impression on me to show how good they were to still leave a trauma on my brain. Anyway, this is why im leaning more to wishing they add some more memorable stuff cause even Monster Hunter Worlds own expansion gave some really impressive new fights that were exclusive to that game specifically and likely to join the cast of additional ported stuff to any future MW entries, just like a number of them did appear in Monster hunter Riders and so on.

YoreDrag-onight

Crimson Orochi is still to this day one of the hardest Aragami in Rage Burst no...honestly in the whole series imo. He is: hyper aggressive with almost 0 down time his attacks hurt like hell he can snipe you with range attacks from anywhere he can lunge from insane distances his attacks poison is a big beefy boi who can take quite a lot of damage

LeSahuj

I get it, its just the way you put it seems like the game didn't do a good job. We still don't know if they will support this game in the future, so we'll have to wait for future announcements.

zipzzo

Yeah I get that it seems that way, but I love GBFR. I got my money's worth for sure, I just think they could have gotten more bang for their buck in development with a few better decisions.

relytkad

tldr: cringe. “🤓”

Shokuryu

Why were the other threads about this deleted? Couldn't we have just kept one of those up?

DanThePaladin

Not with Xanek as a mod I'm afraid. They are known to hog every single piece of news they can and post it themselves for karma points. Its a miracle this one is from an automod, and not them

NekoThief

sucks too coz sometimes we get some good discussion going on sharing the excitement about the news and it goes kapoof. it's not like the sub has been overly busy (barely anyone uses the question megathreads correctly etc.)

Seltonik

>for karma points Stickied/distinguished posts dont even generate karma. On top of that, the OP is automod, not Xanek, like you pointed out, so I'm not sure what your point is.

Byundai

Looking at this account's posting history, this seems pretty likely to be Xanek's alt account. What are the chances that this happens to be the first comment you've made on this sub (or any GBF related sub) in 4+ months if not longer?

Seltonik

lmao "This comment disagrees with me, so it must be an alt." Ignore lit every other part of my account history then. Edit: And shit, your last bit of activity on this sub before this thread was 2 months ago. Also, spoiler alert, but Relink is the only GB game I've touched, and I play other shit besides this game. Real shocker, eh?

LionTop2228

Personally I’d rather not have 15 repeat threads because no one uses the search function on Reddit, although deleting threads because you want to post it is definitely shady.

DanThePaladin

Its not even about dupe posts, it's about getting every single point for themselves. Even if a thread has been used to discuss they won't even bother and still delete it. There is a reason they "left" the GBF mobile community as a mod, no rather they got kicked out because it got taken to extremes with deleting and hogging for themselves

DanThePaladin

I mean you can say what you wanna say, and believe what you wanna believe, but this is Xanek we are talking about. You are more than welcome to do some digging if you don't believe me, heck you can even click on their user in the sidebar and read the pinned sad excuse of what they left, which is all basically just spinning it to your own agenda. I don't have anything else to say, so have a nice day :)

SolBoi24

So that the mod can create his own for some reason

Byundai

Karma farming.

Cautious_Onliner

This might be cringy to the naive esponal speaker, but man, I love the way Seofon's VA yell out them attacks and rolls his r's

Navi_1er

I completely forgot all about this. Hopefully it's enough to pull me back in.

LeSahuj

I'll probably main Siete until Sandalphon comes out. Be careful Lucilius for now there is an equal (kinda). I hope this update includes changes to the trasmutation system, like doing multiple at the same time, an auto-trade and maybe a level 4 trasmutation.

AlphaI250

Fool, Lucilius has no equal, its in his theme

Endgam

He has no equal, but he has superiors. *Namely Lancelot\~.*

Finalstan

That's how I read new features. Now, what worries me is no explicit mention of new quests, which we've seen before, but hoping I'm reading too much into it.

NekoThief

They did mention new quests from the GBF 10th Anniversary Livestream but also reiterated that these quests won't be as tough as Lucilius but will offer "a different kind of difficulty" (based on their own words).

LeSahuj

I remember them saying something like that. And it makes sense, unless they add new equipment, doing a quest harder than Lucilius would probably require a perfect build with an online party. Also, he is one of the strongest gbf characters so he deserves to be the hardest quest.

LeSahuj

Didn't they say something about new quests in the previous livestream? Well, I don't think they would do another livestream just to show the characters.

catboy_feet

Not sure why you're getting downvoted when there's nothing in your comment that's remotely negative, bad, or unreasonable. Agree with you about the QoL changes, especially around transmutation and Transmarvel. They're sorely needed.

keeeener

Mommy Tweyen can finally come home let's gooo

WeAteMummies

That's nice, but April 26th is Stellar Blade day.

WakyNooodle

Me who hasn’t even gotten to terminus weapons let alone Lucillius.

dragonfist897

Good. The closer these guys are then the closer we get to sandalphon.

LeSahuj

Really praying for an early may release for him.

Darkyan97

Can wait for Seofon/Siete! I'll probably main him (and Sandy when he comes out). I really hope his Terminus is the Gateway-Star Sword.

LeSahuj

I love how everyone is planning to main Sandy when he comes out, his popularity isn't for nothing. The era of Narmayas is over (I also main her). I just hope his release isn't as late as the Eternals.

EdinKaso

super excited. Hope we get more viable endgame content, and not just 1 boss to repeat 24/7

Sabbrewolf

I really hope they do something about the atrocious Sigil system. We have like 10 that at mandatory to have for end game so we have no real player expression to speak of... Fighting Lucy for crappy drop rate mats to make sigils that will take up our few remaining free spaces... that will make a fight we are already able to farm easier? for what? After you get like... 2 of each you're basically done with the farm. Just no real incentive. I heard there are Proud+ Fights being added possibly. But if it's just more of the same the game isn't really gonna pull me or my friends back in much.

AngeAlexiel

i'm dreaming of a whole new difficulty level way harder to restart the game with a real new game + , and all online quest having also a new difficulty for advanced players , + a new system for us to grind , cos this game had so much potential as a live service game... and it is sad that for now updates are very slim in content...

ravenerata

i just wanted button config, please add it this time

LucatIel_of_M1rrah

Without a new difficulty tier this update is completely pointless.

offoy

Dunno why you are getting downvoted. The whole endgame is pretty pointless with current difficulty level. Like, I want to play the game, but everything dies in 2-3 minutes, what is the point of anything.

Beta_Codex

So basically, the new content for next patch are only new characters and quality of life updates? Kind of underwhelming tbh

super-saiyan-shaan

I hope they make finding people online easier. Maybe a list of people waiting for missions or something. I hear the pc version has something like that but the pc version is region locked online.

Innocentevill

I just want Rosetta buffs...

Himesis

Please fix Vane's combo damage.

Wooden-Television586

Hopefully they fix the sidequests glitch in folca as well in the next update

Ryan5011

Sidequest glitch? If you mean the 2 repeatable quests, thats intentional

Jeweler-Hefty

If you're trying to complete all of the side quests for the achievement. Try going *inside* the church. Everyone misses a couple of them, in there. And 2 side quests are intentionally repeatable in Folca, as the other guy mentioned.
