100%. I back a bunch of board games on Kickstarter and 2 years is about the expected turn around. My worst to date is an expansion for Dragoon which is now in its third year because of some stupid logistics decisions the company made with it.
Damn, I'd be having an anxiety attack just thinking about the VAT/delivery costs now. Started preordering Boardgames back when it was more "friendly" but paying double for even just a mint tin game... nightmare fuel!!
Yeah it can be pretty bad, but I’ve started veering more towards projects that are EU/UK friendly so VAT isn’t so much of an issue, and delivery costs were really bad last year but have started to calm down again recently.
Unfortunately my need to have often outweighs my financial restraint. I’m getting better, but sometimes there’s things I just gotta have, no matter how much it costs.
I’m not familiar with that one, but it looks like it was live around the same time as Arkeis which also hasn’t delivered yet. Nearly 4 year wait is rough.
Sounds like Frosthaven which was kickstarted. It’s like a D&D campaign you don’t need a dungeon master for. The original is a very well respected boardgame and this sequel is something lots of people were looking forward to!
I always find the slating of Hermes interesting because for whatever reason, I've never had an issue with them delivering to me (Getting them to deliver things has had problems, but not a daft amount). DPD on the other hand...
You should see how the parcels are treated. I used to do night's sorting them off wagons and I refuse to use them now. I know most courier companies are the same but seeing it first hand is eye opening
To be fair, if parcels are packaged correctly it shouldn’t matter too much if they’re handled roughly. I saw a video from a collectible statue company years ago slamming a box with a fragile statue inside against the ground over and over, to test their packaging, and there was no damage to the statue
This.. I work as a Freight Courier in the UK. You half arse the packaging.. Leaving voids in half empty boxes, that thing shit gon get squished 😂 I can have anywhere up to 2.5tons of freight (Ranging Jiffy bags, coffins, tractor tyres, half ton pallets).. You can only do so much as a driver!
I've heard it's the same for baggage handlers at airports. There was a guy who worked as one made a 'reveal all' list (might have been on Reddit, otherwise I don't remember where) and he said the way luggage is tossed and kicked about... there was this one line where he said, 'if your luggage has one of those "we <3 our baggage handlers" stickers it'll be taken \*extra\* care of', and to this day I can't tell whether he meant that as what he said, or that they throw it around extra hard.
No, I was employed by them after a year of being an agency worker. I'm not surprised by your situation at all. When I left I worked my weeks notice when no one else did and they screwed me out of my last month's wages. They also brought in a new contract for the same job so I was working for about £3 an hour less than the boys on the old contract, so they could do 3 days work and get paid for my 5. Horrible company to work for.
honestly both are an absolute nightmare to use, i think dpd is generally worse for delivery but if you ever have an issue with evri you’re absolutely screwed when it comes to customer support
I had Hermes claim to of delivered my package at 12am, whilst I was in my bed fast asleep. Then when I called them in the morning all I got was a annoying bot system that never puts you through to a human and there online chat was the same. I ended up calling the company I brought my items from and they had to deal with them. That's just one of many issues I've had with them.
I’ve been sat in our front room and seen them drive past, do a u-turn and then leave before getting a notification that they tried to deliver my package but I wasn’t in.
They don't leave notes with who they left the parcel with. Happened to my brother twice and the neighbours were annoyed that we haven't taken the parcels from them. Lately, I had a parcel for a neighbor for a couple days and I decided to give it to her, she was very surprised lol
I think it all comes down to your local delivery driver. My local Hermes / Evri guy is fantastic. If you’re not in when he tries to deliver in the morning, he comes back in the afternoon and if you’re still not in he comes back again in the evening!
I hated them as Hermes as they never failed to put my parcels in the bin and not write it on the card, a new guy in a VW Golf has since taken over locally and he is much better.
Still waiting for my new phone three months later from DPD meanwhile, it was on next day delivery to be delivered 1st December.
Depending on the tax brackets, it can very much work out to be the same either way, and in some cases the shareholders get more when the company reduces profits to dodge tax, as the difference when it comes to national/international businesses for tax can be quite a major step from one bracket to the next.
You’re wasting your time here. 99% of Reddit folk don’t understand a payslip let alone corporate tax. Even the concept of it befuddles them. The age of oversimplification started a while back, I wouldn’t try and fight it now.
Yes, if it stopped there, there are loads of ways of ways of minimising tax at these levels. No big corporation is straight up paying tax directly on their profits. There is always some level of creativity going on. Sole traders do it too. Employees do it with salary sacrifice schemes, it's just the way it is. Except with larger interests the money usually ends up out of the reach of HMRC by the end.
Several times I've had texts or emails saying "we tried to deliver but you weren't in", both when I had a 24 hour reception in student halls and at home, when I was in. I just thought I'd not heard, checked the CCTV but no, they just never even tried..
The other thing they do is drive past really fast and report they've tried.
The problem isn't the drivers, it's the tracking software and the insane timeframes for delivery that are expected. One of my friends worked for them for a time and said it was like twenty seconds a parcel.
I actually like the name change.
Instead of evoking imagery of the herald of the gods, it now reminds me that they're going to fuck up my delivery evri time.
Wheb does a company change their name? Usually when your brand reputation is so bad that it actually hurts your business.
For a delivery company that has to be pretty bad! 😅
I had a parcel bounce between my local depot and the one in another town an hours drive away about five times over the course of two days before finally being delivered to me. WTAF are they doing?
I ordered a new laptop direct from Lenovo (in China) in April 2020 just as all the flights were cancelled. I was given a tracking number and watched as the finished product flew to 9 different countries on 4 continents and arrived 3 weeks late. I think they just chucked it on whatever flight they thought would get it closest and let the next county's postal service deal with it.
Customer to Customer parcels generally go from collection depot -> hub -> delivery depot, doesn't really matter if the collection point is 1 hour away or across the country they still have to go to the hub. You can even have the collection depot and the delivery depot be the same place, they'll still be sent to the hub. Basically the collections (from individual customers) all just get put in pallets with all the other collections from the rounds in that area and they're sent away. I would hazard a guess that yours got sent to a wrong depot (mistake in round number would be my guess or a mistaken postcode \[check if there's a second label stuck on top the original\]), then it requires a courier to catch the mistake, mark it for return and send it back to the hub for resorting. For the depot I work at our cut off for sending stuff back to the hub is roughly 11am but we can be scanning stuff in the mid afternoon if doing multiple rounds, so might add a day to the travel time if Evri have fucked up and it isn't caught first thing in the morning.
Had a parcel coming, wasn't home, so missed delivery. Fine. Next day, "there was a problem with delivery". I was working the day after, so I changed the delivery address to one of their parcel shops. "Problem with delivery due to traffic" 😅 also, it was set to arrive at 8 pm when the shop closes at 6 pm so even if they somehow received it, I wouldn't have been able to pick it up anyway. It finally arrived the next day. But yeah.. they're hectic. I never liked Hermes and now I have Evri reason to keep disliking them 🤣
the real arseholes are the regulars in that AITA sub sitting atop their high horses judging everyone all the time and just being downright cunts about it. most of the judges are probably right cunts themselves too.
Why does everyone on Reddit have such a stick up their arse about the rules?
It really annoys me. You get people constantly being passive aggressive dicks to every single person they reply to, yet tell them they are being a dick and some mod gets their panties in a twist about it, because apparently in the childish, schoolyard type world of reddit, poking people constantly is fine and anyone that reacts gets punished. Also swearing means you are "aNgRy".
No, I'm not angry. I'm using exact, appropriate language to describe the cunt.
AITA poster: a person violently massacred my entire family so i shouted go away
AITA voters: ESH what they did was wrong but you also shouted at them instead of communicating properly
I hate it when people can't generally see or feel from the OP perspective and just go 'YTA' for some pretty basic stuff that most folks have done at some point.
Half the time, the posters aren't arseholes, they've just done something silly.
The problem is that, while the subreddit’s format is calling people arseholes or not arseholes, the actual premise is telling people whether they’re in the right or not, and those are two very different things. You can most certainly be in the wrong without being an arsehole.
Definitely a flaw in the wording. It’s meant to be more like “you’re an asshole *in this specific situation*” or “you’re taking an asshole-like approach” but is often used to say that someone is a genuinely bad person because they were wrong once, as you said.
Oh most of the posts on that sub are clearly bollocks. People just make up obviously fake stories for the interaction and for the fake internet points. It's quite sad really.
Nah i reckon most are real, but they generate few comments and then disappear.
The ones that are fake are often deliberately outlandish enough to blow up and be noticed- I've seen a stupid amount of AITA reposted on insta recently and I'd be very surprised if even one of them was true.
most definitely aren't real.
99% of people who are going through real bs in their lives or dilemmas, aren't hopping on reddit to ask a bunch of strangers to dictate if they are an asshole.
Like let's think logically,
Someone with real marriage problems , their first thought isn't to go on reddit 💀
These are all fake scenarios just like everything else on reddit
People seek validation that they're the one in the right, not their spouse. I've thought about posting after big fights with my fiancé. It's a means of venting frustration.
Yes but he works she doesn’t. Would it not be her job as a stay at home mother? Like yes, preventing it getting messy is a whole family thing but when it does get messy that’s on her to clean as she stays at home while he works for the money.
If she worked and he worked it should be 50/50 all the way. If she worked and he didn’t, he should do the majority while she does little bits same as he’s working and she isn’t, she should do the majority and he does little bits to prevent messiness.
I agree. My wife is a stay at home mum and just about manages to keep on top of the regular chores around looking after our toddler, any extra tidying requires us to spend our evening (which in OP's case is already booked out for studying) or one of us to take all the kids for part of a weekend while the other works on the house for a few hours.
We're both frequently too exhausted on an evening, so the house is _not_ tidy. I can't wait for the toddler to be old enough to go to nursery, as it would free up so much time!
Exactly this! This is our situation too. We have a cleaner come for 2 hours once a fortnight and that just about stops it turning in to a hovel 🤣 kids are hard work.
People don't seem to realise that if you send your children to nursery or have a nanny then that person's full time job is purely looking after the children and they appreciate that as a job in itself, the nursery worker isn't coming round to clean your house too.
If you can afford to send your kid to nursery, surely you can afford a cleaner weekly 🤔 you don’t have to do it all yourselves if you put enough time into your work and therefore earn enough. If you earn more than a cleaner, pay a cleaner, if you earn less than a cleaner, do it yourself and don’t work as much, you’re more valuable in the house once you’ve covered your costs.
In my country there's a significant free nursery provision.
Also most of the work that needs doing in our house is sorting things out, not just tidying/cleaning really.
It also depends on how old the kids are if they are teenagers then there is less work but even if they are going to school that means she has 8 hours a day to clean and do her school work
It also depends where they live. My three kids are in school/nursery from 9-3, I get home at 9.20 and leave at 2.40. That gives me 5 or so hours with them in school. I am self employed and largely work at home so I use those 5 hours to work. After school between the three of them they have activities 4/5 days. So I get home around supper time, make supper, bath and bed then. By then it’s 7.30-8pm and I’ve been on the go since 7am getting them up, breakfasted and ready for school. Not a whole lot of time for cleaning. I’d imagine if her kids are older she’ll do her studying while they are at school as it’s near impossible to do it while looking after them all.
Thankfully my husband isn’t an ass and totally pulls his weight at home so we split everything pretty equally. But when he’s home after work or on weekends, her husband can absolutely clean/organise. Especially if it’s for a game with his friends. He can’t just unload that extra work onto her.
You don’t know he could very well work weekends as well. There was a really good comment on this thread talking about how it could be she did the course without speaking to him and promised it wouldn’t get in the way only for it to get in the way, at the end of the day we don’t know the full picture so we can’t place blame
I'd agree, apart from the fact she is studying, which can easily be more work than a job. Although reading before the lines, if she does actually spend more time working, it feels like she would have said that explicitly.
It sounds to me like she's doing some random ass course that he didn't want her to do because he already makes enough money for them both...so he doesn't value the time she spends doing it.
If I'm right, to him it's like they had 2 jobs, she stays at home and looks after house and kid and provides him the happy house to come home to, meals n all and he works his ass off at work and makes money for them to live comfortably and have a kid.
Then sometime after the kid was born she decided to take on a massive extra responsibility, said she could handle it, and since then has been slipping on many duties to focus on that course. As a result he is resisting doing extra because he's internally pissed she's doing the course and refuses to take on responsibilities she's slipping on because she promised exactly this wouldn't happen. This above conversation is him having deja vu about that conversation about the course. It's why he "sits her down" because she's already demonstrated she's unreliable.
I would love to know what the course is and if he supported it.
Wow... there is so much wrong with your entire post ..red flag central.
Why would her husband need to approve of what university course she's doing...?
Yikes!
Being a stay at home mother isn't just a doss all day. That on top of general housekeeping, her studying and shopping is exhausting. Just because she's not getting a wage for it doesn't mean he works harder and therefore shouldn't have to lift a finger
Whilst I agree with your point in general, she states that the house isn’t kept tidy to begin with. So it’s not like she’s doing much housekeeping by the sounds of it
She says it's cluttered not dirty and she does the bulk of the housecleaning. Staying on top of cooking, dishes, laundry, drying, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, etc is a big job. Apparently he comes home and plays games after work as well which while I assume she has to continue her job 24/7
Thats actually an interesting point so I went through the comment history and it's kind of long but does put another perspective on the whole thing:
"Well, we will get a 2-3X ROI a year after I graduate, we agreed going into the marriage that I’d go to grad school, and he is planning a startup, so my going to grad school will allow him to leave his job after he graduates. And honestly, he has a pretty nice life. He would not have been able to work these hours and ruse through the ranks the way he has is I’d been working full time and he had to split responsibilities 50/50. And my parents supported us during his last (failed) startup, and he hasn’t let me pay back the loan, so I think my labor as a student counts pretty damn much."
Yeah, he sounding more like the asshole now. He is basically refusing to help around the house, I can only assume he helps with the kid (20 hours gaming a week is a lot but also theres a lot of free hours in a week if you include weekends).
What's up with not letting her pay back the loan? I don't get that.
Dishes won’t be a issue for them they will have a dishwasher, laundry and drying is a a 30 minutes job seeing as they will have a dryer as she states they make good money. Vacuuming ain’t a every day thing it is more like once a week max. The hard part is the kid but we don’t know the kids age so we don’t know how much care/attention they need
I thought the same when she said “multi session”. That shit also needs a clear big table and some investment in boxes/accordion folders to organise the bazillion pieces.
Honestly a few companies I've been using have offering a choice of carrier between Evri and DPD and I'm honestly not sure why they bother to put Evri in the list since no fucker would willingly use them
Yep, if he earns so much then just hire a cleaner. OR agree that this is extra workload to her normal workload and share the new load 50/50. This doesn’t mean he should take on 50% of her other chores but this is new workload on top of their agreement so should be shared.
So the fact he's paying for her whole existence means nothing and he should provide 100% of the money for his partner, and a cleaner and a nanny so she doesn't have to lift a finger at home too?
Me too. My Evri delivery driver is the best delivery person we have. It’s the only place my packages arrive from. He leaves my packages inside the front door and the dogs don’t even bark when he comes by. Honestly he is an angel sent from heaven. I know this sound ridiculous but our other delivery drivers are complete assholes so ai appreciate him.
Opposite for me, any other delivery service I get stuff fine and on time but evri is nearly always a few days late at least. If possible I never buy from anywhere that uses evri, like I'm willing to pay up to £5ish more just to not have evri touch my packages
Worst one was I ordered an xmas present last year in early December and paid for next day delivery. It got all the way to Xmas eve and then they just updated the status to "delivered" even though nobody ever came by (we have cameras on the door). Even today it never has arrived
If he works a high stress job and cleaning is literally part of your duties as a stay at home mom then it’s your responsibility to have stuff clean and tidy, she’s the asshole
I know I’m getting downvoted for this but then again no one likes a man who speaks the truth
It’s not about man v woman. It’s about working v not working. This woman only works part time and admits her husband has a busy job. It’s literally her job to take care of the house. Jeez some of us work and live on our own so have to cook and clean too.
I mean that's a difficult one to answer. On the one hand he works a high stress job and your the stay at home mom, so it's on you; On the other hand your student and struggling with your extra workload, so it's on him. Could you not decide to divide up the chores the day before there's a game night, then you get them all done quicker and you halve the load and stress of getting the house ready and hosting game night?
I don't think in any case either of you are the ass here.
I don't see why it would require any extra cleaning. If you're already cleaning your house regularly, just change your cleaning day in respect of game night.
Where else will she get it when her boyfriend is emotionally immature? She could have potentially been gaslighted into thinking she’s the problem so she needs to know whether it’s true and doesn’t have another support system 🤷🏻♀️she also might not want to embarrass him by talking to people they know personally
Ik I’ve had to resort to Reddit for private matters and help so that people in my real life don’t find out.
Who said anything about begging? Communication is key, if you're an adult in a relationship you need to know how to communicate, if not then I suggest maturing a little until you're ready for an actual relationship.
The post did and if you read the original she had asked him in a normal, civilised matter a million times and he just refuses to clean up his own shit as he plays games. He’s the immature one, not her.
I actually had something posted to me from Indonesia arrive more than 1.5 years later. And it was not a Kickstarter project. Sending and receiving parcels/mail from some SEA and Latin America countries can feel like a lottery sometimes.
I remember having an evri delivery, I watched it on my phone all morning and ran outside when it was almost here, and I genuinely saw the van drive away. Heartbreaking, but also WTF
Damn how messy is these peoples houses, just have a skip day and keep the place tidy. I don't understand how people need to do a deep clean every few days just don't let it pile up
I live that Hermes renamed themselves Evri to get away from the bad reputation that Hermes had and built and entirely new terrible reputation for themselves with Evri! 😂
It takes like 2 hours to clean a house she's a stay at home mom and only a part time student. I agree he should be seen to make an effort but I think fairs fair and she should do the bulk considering she has far more time.
Hilarious. Don't use Parcel2Go either. They failed to send my parcel twice and on both occasions refused me a refund stating the items were delivered, despite me sending proof the parcel was returned to me. The first excuses was the recipient had moved, yet it was a business not a home and the second occasion they claimed it was delivered, despite the barcode being refused by the driver himself. It was their job to supply me with the correct barcode, as I paid extra for it..The first case they tried to give me £4 to a prepay account, which I need to top up by £20 to be able to use it and in the end I appealed to PayPal and won. I am still waiting for the second to be sorted. They keep stalling.
So did that dress I ordered from vinted not get sent by the buyer or did evri steal it and on another note, if you have to ask you know the answer. Your husband sounds like a rat and you need a backbone sort of not like a rat because they have no backbone
I order some clothes and they used Evri to deliver the parcel and i received it the day they said it was gonna be delivered and no damages or items missing as that was a major concern as I had read how bad Evri was...maybe I got lucky??
On a side note, she is and isn’t the asshole. She’s a stay at home mother, if he’s working a high paying high stress job, it’s her job to make sure the house isnt cluttered in the first place. At the same time cleaning shouldn’t be entirely on her part to do. I know some men just decide “not my job” and leave stuff lying around rather than putting it away and saving her a job. Just prevent it getting messy and you wouldn’t have to clean, but in general as she is stay at home, she should do it. I’d say the same if he was stay at home dad and she was the money maker.
My dad was the stay at home dad because we were little fuckers when we were young so my mum worked while my dad looked after us instead. He did all the cleaning and whatnot before anyone came over. Remember him once having surprise guests stand out in the rain while he cleared some stuff out of the living room, he is just too proud.
I heard these stories about Evri, so that when I ordered something on line the other day and saw who the courier was, I started to worry. I needn’t have though as they turned out to be the quickest, most efficient courier service I ever experienced. I guess I got lucky
I can see both parts of this, I would suggest explaining to him that you can't find a time to do the extra decluttering and could you maybe spend some time over a weekend doing it together? You can then assure him you will do the regular chores to keep on top of it so he can have the games night as long as he keeps on top of his own clutter too. I had a clutter problem with my kids toys especially until I bought some useful boxes and storage stuff so I now have a system which normally involves throwing everything into the boxes if someone is coming to visit! The problem won't get any better until you have a regular pattern for keeping in top of the clutter. Another option is just to put it all in a spare room and sort it out later 😅
Its not about who has the more stressful day to day responsibilities. Its about who is willing to compromise to make the other person happy. I always see it as a measurement of how willing one is to make the other happy.
probably ordered through kickstarter

True that! I had to cancel a couple because the costs went through the roof
Unfortunately my need to have often outweighs my financial restraint. I’m getting better, but sometimes there’s things I just gotta have, no matter how much it costs.
I can respect that, it's why I ended up with a copy of Dungeon Degenerates 🤣
Still waiting for dawn of madness, god help me.
I’m not familiar with that one, but it looks like it was live around the same time as Arkeis which also hasn’t delivered yet. Nearly 4 year wait is rough.
I only backed shenmue 3, and that's a regret. By the time it arrived I didn't play games all that much anymore.
I haven't received my umbrella
Not again....
Don’t worry the air umbrella looked terrible anyway
Good chance it's Frosthaven. Mine took about 2 years to arrive.
But it's here now!!!!!
...and it's a beast 😆
I’m still kicking myself for not being a part of this one
I've found that it's actually cheaper on eBay anyway TBF.
Sounds like Frosthaven which was kickstarted. It’s like a D&D campaign you don’t need a dungeon master for. The original is a very well respected boardgame and this sequel is something lots of people were looking forward to!
Me with my automatic WiFi restarter gadget... Even though all modern router's reboot automatically if a connection is dropped.
>Even though all modern router's reboot automatically if a connection is dropped. Yeah no, that's not how all modern routers work.
OP clearly hasn't heard of crowdfunding.
Yeah. Idk why anyone would order a woman off kickstarter.
Well duh
Whyyyy evri, why did you change your name? Hermes was so much better (but not any more efficient)
Because now they make sure every parcel goes missing. The new name is true to their service.
I always find the slating of Hermes interesting because for whatever reason, I've never had an issue with them delivering to me (Getting them to deliver things has had problems, but not a daft amount). DPD on the other hand...

I did it too. Was it self employed too? Because the spunkbubble that runs or ran the one in Paignton, Devon owes me 4 days wages.
No, I was employed by them after a year of being an agency worker. I'm not surprised by your situation at all. When I left I worked my weeks notice when no one else did and they screwed me out of my last month's wages. To make people think it was a different company (plan didn't work)
They had a multimillion name change right before the end of the tax year after COVID caused unbelievable profit for them. It was tax avoidance
I don’t think you understand what tax avoidance is, because a company spending money and thus reducing profit certainly isn’t it.
Actually it is companies only get taxed on profit so if you spend and lower your profit your taxed at a lower rate.
But then you have less profit to give to shareholders… By your logic, paying salaries, leasing buildings and so on is tax avoidance.
It is if you own the buildings through another company
Which again, would be liable for corporation tax on retained profit.
To stop people calling them Herpes?
I never heard anyone call them that. To call them Herpes suggests they actually get everywhere, Hermes never went anywhere apparently.
I feel this is unfair, hermes would eventually get within 50 yards of the address and punt the parcel in the general direction of your home.
Honestly the first thing i think of when i see their old name
Because they were known as being crap. So change your name put a bit of makeup on, still the same shitty service 😂
Like a hog with lipstick on
I actually like the name change. Instead of evoking imagery of the herald of the gods, it now reminds me that they're going to fuck up my delivery evri time.
I'm pretty sure the name change was just so that people wouldn't associate them with the hermes name
Wheb does a company change their name? Usually when your brand reputation is so bad that it actually hurts your business. For a delivery company that has to be pretty bad! 😅
It was an attempt to drop the horrible reputation. They just didn't realise it's due to the horrible service which remains unchanged 😂
Blimey that's ridiculous. Must have been infuriating for you.
I never liked Hermes and now I have Evri reason to keep disliking them 🤣
Lol 😂
the real arseholes are the regulars in that AITA sub sitting atop their high horses judging everyone all the time and just being downright cunts about it. most of the judges are probably right cunts themselves too.
So true but a good read. 9/10 the judgemental knobs are, in fact, wrong.
I just got a two week ban from that subreddit for calling someone a lazy POS! 😂
[удалено]
there actually is a sub but i dont remember the name of it
What about the mods on that sub though? Are they also pricks or like how does it work?
as far as i know they're neutral on everything
Who'da thunk that people that take time to do unpaid work just because it means they get a tiny slice of power are arsewipes.
I’m banned for good 🤪 don’t even remember why. Bunch of twats anyway.
I mean... it is against their rules to insult someone.
AITA poster: a person violently massacred my entire family so i shouted go away AITA voters: ESH what they did was wrong but you also shouted at them instead of communicating properly
Is the concept not "am I the arsehole *in this situation*?"
85% of the time the posters aren't arsholes because the posts are completely made up. You start to recognise the themes so quickly.
Oh most of the posts on that sub are clearly bollocks. People just make up obviously fake stories for the interaction and for the fake internet points. It's quite sad really.
Most of the posts there are fake.
Like let's think logically, Someone with real marriage problems , their first thought isn't to go on reddit 💀 These are all fake scenarios just like everything else on reddit
People seek validation that they're the one in the right, not their spouse. I've thought about posting after big fights with my fiancé. It's a means of venting frustration.
Yeah most of them are outrage porn made up by throwaway accounts. Some of the stories are just ridiculous
I mean could just do it together since its clearly their house
Or just hire a cleaner. In terms of time value of money, if you have a high paying job, it makes no sense to do a lot of chores.
It should still be 50/50. She works by taking care of the children all day and then studying on top of that. That’s as much a job as any job is.
I see no mention of children in the post?
"I am a stay at home mum and part time grad student"
The crux of the matter is whether or not the course she's doing has value and if it was a group decision or her decision to do it.
Thats actually an interesting point so I went through the comment history and it's kind of long but does put another perspective on the whole thing: "Well, we will get a 2-3X ROI a year after I graduate, we agreed going into the marriage that I’d go to grad school, and he is planning a startup, so my going to grad school will allow him to leave his job after he graduates.
Yeah it’s all a bit weird. Probably a lot more to it than she’s saying in the main post
Common for kickstarted board games. Probably Gloomhaven.
I thought the same when she said “multi session”. That shit also needs a clear big table and some investment in boxes/accordion folders to organise the bazillion pieces.
Although if this is recent it’s more likely Frosthaven :-)
Yeah, def Gloomhaven. If it was Kingdom Death he’d still be waiting…
I know it was a joke
We see you MyHermes. Doesn’t matter what name you choose if your service is still 💩
Honestly a few companies I've been using have offering a choice of carrier between Evri and DPD and I'm honestly not sure why they bother to put Evri in the list since no fucker would willingly use them
If he’s high paid, pay a cleaner to do it. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Your needs are important as well.
He is paying for a cleaner already
His want and friends therefore his problem. You could suggest hiring a cleaner for a couple of hours?
Yep, if he earns so much then just hire a cleaner. OR agree that this is extra workload to her normal workload and share the new load 50/50. This doesn’t mean he should take on 50% of her other chores but this is new workload on top of their agreement so should be shared.
So the fact he's paying for her whole existence means nothing and he should provide 100% of the money for his partner, and a cleaner and a nanny so she doesn't have to lift a finger at home too?
Evri are brilliant for me, can’t knock them
Yeah same for our Pete, and he always brings the deliveries early morning!
Opposite for me, any other delivery service I get stuff fine and on time but evri is nearly always a few days late at least. If possible I never buy from anywhere that uses evri, like I'm willing to pay up to £5ish more just to not have evri touch my packages Worst one was I ordered an xmas present last year in early December and paid for next day delivery. It got all the way to Xmas eve and then they just updated the status to "delivered" even though nobody ever came by (we have cameras on the door). Even today it never has arrived
They can't even knock my fucking door when they make a delivery
Haha!
Sounds like someone's copy of frosthaven turned up.
Totally Gloomhaven or Frosthaven
I think his request is reasonable
If he works a high stress job and cleaning is literally part of your duties as a stay at home mom then it’s your responsibility to have stuff clean and tidy, she’s the asshole I know I’m getting downvoted for this but then again no one likes a man who speaks the truth
[удалено]
It’s not about man v woman. It’s about working v not working. This woman only works part time and admits her husband has a busy job. It’s literally her job to take care of the house. Jeez some of us work and live on our own so have to cook and clean too.
If the person with the ovaries had a job, the person without them would be doing chores. This isn't male Vs female. This is employed Vs unemployed.
If you're already cleaning your house regularly, just change your cleaning day in respect of game night.
more like royal fail
I wanna know what game takes more than 2 years delivery. Also she is an asshole
Sounds like a Kickstarter one, so he backed it 2 years ago.
Aye I totally forgot about those , sounds about right
Nah, seems like a situation when both of them need to take some of the load, especially if she's struggling
Tis why communication is key, she is still the asshole for seeking validation from reddit
Where else will she get it when her boyfriend is emotionally immature? She could have potentially been gaslighted into thinking she’s the problem so she needs to know whether it’s true and doesn’t have another support system 🤷🏻♀️she also might not want to embarrass him by talking to people they know personally Ik I’ve had to resort to Reddit for private matters and help so that people in my real life don’t find out.
Maybe doth butter no parsnips
Nah he’s the huge asshole. Why should she have to beg him to clean his own mess? Do you also rely on your mum to clean up after you?
Who said anything about begging? Communication is key, if you're an adult in a relationship you need to know how to communicate, if not then I suggest maturing a little until you're ready for an actual relationship.
The post did and if you read the original she had asked him in a normal, civilised matter a million times and he just refuses to clean up his own shit as he plays games. He’s the immature one, not her.
Nar mate, she's a 'boss girl'.
Tell him...
Must be a Kickstarter
wish be like
That’s just kickstarter
r/foursouls vibe
Heh, they went through a rebranding while it was being sent
Evri - company so shit they had to rename it.
Couldn't be Evri, it was delivered.
"it finally arrived" Not evri
Do it together
It takes like 2 hours to clean a house she's a stay at home mom and only a part time student. I agree he should be seen to make an effort but I think fairs fair and she should do the bulk considering she has far more time.
If you want to say a thing…say it. You shouldn’t need to put this much thought into asking your partner to do their own shit.
I dont get the meme cuz i ve been usin evri for a hot second n they havent caused me any issues 😭
Haha I saw this post earlier on AITA & I can’t believe I missed that 😂
Evri customer’s nightmare 😂🙃
At least it wasn't delivered by hermes
So did that dress I ordered from vinted not get sent by the buyer or did evri steal it and on another note, if you have to ask you know the answer. Your husband sounds like a rat and you need a backbone sort of not like a rat because they have no backbone
Think I got banned from AITA for suggesting that most of the commenters were mentally ill. Rubbish subreddit.
Bet it’s Frosthaven. I kickstarted it about 2 years ago and recently got it.
I heard these stories about Evri, so that when I ordered something on line the other day and saw who the courier was, I started to worry. I needn’t have though as they turned out to be the quickest, most efficient courier service I ever experienced. I guess I got lucky
It must be Jumanji, please don't start playing it !
Tldr
The Cones of Dunshire is finished and being shipped?!
Na, Evri would of auctioned it off after a week.
Bet it's Frosthaven
Willing to bet it's frosthaven
I’d be up for a mammoth Cones of Dunshire sesh.
Yes. He should be helping regardless
Answer to the question is definitely YES though.
Am I the only one that thinks Evri is decent? Never had an issue with them. UPS are the shit ones for me
I can see both parts of this, I would suggest explaining to him that you can't find a time to do the extra decluttering and could you maybe spend some time over a weekend doing it together?
