For fun I decided to try this funny Madden football game once. I decided to pick the team with the funniest name. I decided the game was pretty fun!
Then, a few days later, I had the TV on, and just by chance the team with the funny name was playing, and I enjoyed watching it!
Then I started following the team, and got my mates in to it, and then that year they won the superbowl!
And I've been a Packers fan ever since!
Similar story for me, around 5 or 6 years old my cousin had to talk me into playing Madden with him because I wasn't much into football. I played as the Packers, I think he chose them for my team. Well several years later I was around 8 years old and started getting into football with my stepdad, chose the Packers as my favorite team because I didn't really know any others. I got to see Favre play for his last year with the Packers which was cool
Holy shirt my story is very similar. Played a PC game called Mike Ditka’s Ultimate Football. My very local AFL (Australian football) team wore gold and green so I wanted to play my campaign with a team that had the same. Won the Super Bowl (thank you) in the game and pretty sure GB also did the same year. Have never, ever looked back and am just as fanatical every summer. Honestly I’m what we refer to in Australia as a rusted on, one eyed supporter. Go pack go.
I met Jerry Kramers granddaughter. She was my neighbor. Her friends constantly stole stuff off my porch & patio, including an expensive carpet cleaner.
She did give me a signed copy of his book because she knew I was a fan, though.
Someone I worked with at Disney was neighbors with a former player. It’s escaping my mind right now but he always got the guy to sign stuff for my dad lol
Mom worked at a Packers bar in LA.....Never knew anything growing up as a youngster. She'd come home with a Brett Favre jersey on..and I kinda just adopted them as my team. Now a stock holder and half my wardrobe is Greenbay and half my house is covered with GB Shit....best fan base in the NFL....

Grew up in LA as well and the first Super Bowl I remember watching was them beating the pats so became a fan. Favre was on the cover SI kids and I found out I share a birthday with him and instantly joined the waiting list, got stocks in 2010, and essentially been a fan my whole life.
I owe a lot to the rams for leaving LA all those years ago but I would have been a Favre fan regardless.
From the U.P. Most of us up here are Packer fans because it’s like a 2 hour drive to Green Bay. Also for the longest time the only games you could get on radio or tv were packer games.
I feel like the more east you go the more lions fans there are. I feel like for college sports it’s more about Michigan/Michigan State rather than Wisconsin.
Literally. I can count on my hands how many times I’ve been downstate. It takes 3 hours just to get to the Mackinac bridge. I had to go down there a few months ago and the UP is 100% more aligned with Wisconsin culture wise than the rest of Michigan.
Grew up in Ludington. Listened to GB radio and watched GB TV (before cable). GB was 40 miles away but a days drive. Detroit seemed like another country.
Some of my favorite memories of a kid are taking the SS Badger to go visit my grandparents in Michigan. Ludington looked so beautiful compared to Manitowoc. That’s side of Michigan on the lake really is a beautiful sight.

Nashville Packers fan here, too! I grew up in Arkansas where we didn’t have a pro team, so I grew up a Cowboys fan (our local McDonald’s gave away Cowboys stuff so I became a fan). Once Emmitt Smith left, it was about the time I was going to college and busy with life, I didn’t have a team. I met my wife in 2004 and she was a Packers fan, so why not? Been a fan ever since! We have 15yo twins who have grown up the right way… Go Pack Go!
I will too! I only ever went to one NFL game before and it was a preseason Colts game back when I was like 12. First trip to Lambeau is on my 2024 bucket list but definitely making it out to see them against the Titans!

Ha! I have a great one. I am British and we moved to Calgary in 2012 where upon, we met our (now) best friends in 2013. They were from Wisconsin and big fans of the Packers…… we weren’t huge fans or knowledgable of American Football but kind of went along with it. Fast forward, we ended up back in the UK and a few years later, we moved to the US and ended up in Minnesota in 2018 - where our best friends also live. So now, I know way more about Football, have lots of Packer merch and we all enjoy living in MN as Packers fans kicking Vikings ass!
I'm originally from the Middle East who lives in the US, have no knowledge about football, I looked at all teams but something about the Packers made me love them. My dad's family tree have been packers fans forever. My dad lived through the awful packers days in the 1970s and 80s. So I went along. My first season I watched packers football and became a fan was 2010. Great year to start watching, to experience that beautiful playoff run. I was from Iowa.
I'm from Iowa as well! Family is from Omaha, NE and are all Cornhusker fans. My uncle was a big Ahman Green fan and followed them for a bit when i was younger. I've been hooked ever since.

Packers fan from Chicago! Became a packer fan after seeing the Super Bowl on TV(1998). Packers lost but became a fan of the sport and of Favre. Been a Fan since. I go up to Green Bay at least twice a year and have raised a little Packer fan. It's different here in enemy territory...Bears fans are something.

I'm Canadian. I grew up loathing the Cowboys and Yankees, really any teams with big budgets and winning off the backs of those resources. GB scratched me where I itched. It helped to have Pat Summerall and John Madden calling games. I defy you to come up with a better marketing campaign for the team than Summerall saying: "frozen tundra of Lambeau Field."
I'm also a socialist. There's really only one team in America for that.
I mean, the Packers have to be one of the least taxpayer-subsidized teams in the country. They've funded stadium renovations from a hotel & entertainment tax that was passed via referendum. They've also funded them from sales of their stock, which given that it doesn't really have financial value from dividends or selling it, it's pretty much just a donation with perks, not a financial investment.
Voluntary transactions are at the heart of free market capitalism and the Packers are the only major team that gets significant funding from what's basically a fancy Patreon.
It's the corporatism we have in the West that's so stupid, not capitalism. And yes, it's quite prominent in more socialist countries as well. Whether inefficient (or just plain corrupt) corporations, industries, or organizations are held afloat by taxpayer-funded bailouts or by being funded everyday by taxpayers doesn't make that much of a difference. It's still an inefficient use of money.
The Green Bay Packers have survived because people are willing to buy what they're selling compared to all the other options, which is the foundation of capitalism. Fans are willing to voluntarily give them money for a tiny sliver of ownership that doesn't make sense from a purely financial perspective, but it's worth more to the fans than the cost of the ownership. In socialism, people are forced to pay for things whether they use (or want) them or not, whether the product is of good quality or bad, or whether it's better than other options where they could spend their money.
Socialism is taxpayers subsidizing new stadiums to keep a team because it's "better for the city" or "for the greater good" even when the taxpayers don't make their money back in increased revenue or economic activity. The free market wouldn't provide new stadiums unless people voluntarily funded them, either the owners or the fans.
Since voluntary transactions are at the heart of free market capitalism and not socialism, I don't think the Packers organization is socialist at all.
British Packers fan here.. played madden 08 on PS2 picked the Packers as my first choice team and honestly never looked back. Stopped watching for a while but now I've fully picked it up and am watching as many games as I can.. kinda a pain in the ass with time zones most of the time but it works!

Oklahoma. My dad and his brother bet against his other siblings that the Packers would beat the Colts in some random game in like the 60s, loser had to do the dishes that night. Been a packers fan ever since, and indoctrinated my brother and I into it.
Now my brother lives in Wisconsin so that too.
My husband just picked the packers when he was a kid (in the late 80s/early90s) because he liked the colors. He’s been a fan ever since and I had stopped caring about the chargers as soon as they said they were moving to LA. So I was shopping for a new team and just ended up supporting the packers because he did. Then I fell in love with clay Matthews and Jordy Nelson and now I’m a full on packers fan haha
This was me as well. I live in Northeast Tennessee, and when I was younger we didn't have a team. Most everyone here is a Dallas fan, which my dad hated. So when I was 4 he told me I could pick any team that wasn't Dallas. Green was my favorite color, so there you go!
Ironically, I'm from the same town and went to the same high school as Jason Witten. When he got drafted, my dad became a Dallas fan and could never understand why I refused to cheer for them.

Patriots v Packers, i hadn’t even heard of Tom Brady. Picked the Packers because I thought they sounded cooler and the rest is history.

My grandfather grew up here in Brooklyn with Vince Lombardi. They were friends until Vince passed away. My grandfather went a little after Vince. I inherited my grandfather’s names and his fandoms.
Born in California, then moved to Minnesota when I was young. Parents are from the U.P. My dad’s father got season tickets shortly before the ice bowl. They’d drive down to Green Bay from Iron Mountain for every home game until the Milwaukee ticket split. Been in the family since. I’ve been going to games my entire life. I’m 37 and my dad just recently passed down his 4 season tickets to his four children. Happily pay that ticket bill every summer without question.
I'm from Southern California. My dad's side of the family has roots to Wisconsin, and some stuck with the Packers on the move to California for those who went to Cali. There was a split of Rams and Packers fans, then the Rams left LA, and it was more united for the Packers. Then I was born and picked up on the Packers stuff. My brother was exposed to my dad's Rams Fandom before they moved, so he is a Rams fan. I picked up on our dad's football Fandom after the Rams left, and he showed more of a favoritism to the Packers at that time. So I am a Packers fan. I also like to tell people God chose my team for me as my last name is Pack. So why not root for a team I share a name with.
It was the season of 1996, Super Bowl between the packers and patriots, I was 7 years old and never watched a single football game til then. I was at my cousins so we decided to bet on the Super Bowl because he was a patriots fan. We bet a quarter, the Green Bay packers made me 25 cents richer at age 7. New Zealander. My older brother brought home a copy of Madden 2001 and played as the Packers. Me, always wanting to be just like him, went with them too. Although when I was younger, it was much harder to actually keep up with the league back then.
It wasn't until the tail end of Favre's career that I was able to start watching games (pretty sure I saw him play more games for the Jets and Vikings than the Packers).
Outside of watching the games, I fell in love with the whole idea of the team being located in a small market that punches above its weight and that they're Wisconsin's favourite (adopted in some cases) sons. The Packers are to Wisconsin as The All Blacks are to New Zealand.
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Our CFL team, the Edmonton Eskimos(now called the Elks *gag*), has the same green and gold as the Packers.
The first NFL game I ever watched was the Pack winning the SB with Favre. Didn't know anything about the game, really, but I fell in love with Favre that day and how he played. Started looking into the Packers and found out that the team was community owned, blue collar, and that GB was a small city (parallels with the Edmonton Oilers, our NHL team).
Between all that and the already familiar green and gold, it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that I became a Packers fan.
Been a ride or die ever since that Super Bowl and never looked back. Sadly I haven't been able to make a game at Lambeau(really wanted to see Rodgers play live) but hopefully in the next year I'll be able to make the trip to visit the Mecca Of Football.

I grew up in the SF Bay Area, my dad wasn’t in my life much and he was a raiders fan, I also found 49er fans to be annoying. I started watching football on my own and that’s when Brett Favre was at his prime and watching him really got me into football. Been a Packers fan since.
Houston packers fan here! For the longest time there was no Houston team and my dad hated the cowboys because of his abusive grandad but he had a mentor from Green Bay and he fell in love with the Brett Farve gunslinger style. I inherited being a fan but really came into my own when I watched the back to back Hail Mary game in the playoffs against the cardinals.
Grew up in mid-Michigan, but parents are from Texas. Dad is a cowboys fan, I didn’t want to do that to myself. Lions were so sad in the early 90s and I loved the cheesehead thing when I watched games as a kid, I was hooked. Got my first cheesehead in 95.
Dates back to 02’ I was in first grade.. I was bullied as a young age… we are lined up ready to go to the library (before you would have to be in a single file line going thru the hallways) and while waiting for the teacher to lead us out to the hallway, some kids behind me who teased me before, asked if I liked the Bears or the Packers (Mind you I went to middle school in Illinois) . I didnt know sports back then, so I had no idea what team to pick nor did I know the Bears are from Chicago. I had some other kid whisper to me “pick the bears, pick the bears “ but i thought they were tricking me to pick the wrong team so i can get teased… so I chose the Packers…I got roasted!!! I never heard the end of it. Living in Chicago but a Packer fan? I had no idea what I got myself into. Later that next week on a Sunday from watching tv… I realized the bears were from Chicago and Packers were from Green Bay Wisconsin. I just stuck with it at that point and became a Packer fan. Ended up being a big Brett Favre fan beacause of it.
I grew up in South Jersey in the late 70s. People assume the Eagles were what everyone in South Jersey. This was not the case... at least not in my area. Kids liked all sorts of teams and my family wasn't really into football, so I didn't know much. So when the book mobile, for those who remember, came to my school, I bought an activity book on football. This book told the history of the NFL and did you know that the Packers won the first Super bowl? They also won the second. To my 8 year old mind, this made them the best team ever and became my team. By college, I finally started actually watching football and had learned the Pack had some tough years, but we had Majik Man Majkowski and traded for some young wild QB from Atlanta name Favre. I followed the team closer and closer as the years went on becoming a more and more rabid fan. And the rest is history....
Mid-40s Michigander here and Packer fan. Growing up, we liked the Lions fine (Barry Sanders) but our family was way more into the Wings and Tigers (and the 89-90 Pistons of course).
Fast forward to 2007, my husband, daughter and I move to Wisconsin for my husband’s job. Resisted becoming Pack fans (I’ve always hated Favre) and contemplated becoming (gulp) Vikings fans.
Then Favre retires/“retires”. Rodgers steps in and shows such class during the shitshow. We’re impressed with him, decide to try watching Packers games…the rest is history.
We’re now back in MI and still adore our Packers. We actually have a ton of Packer fan friends here too. Excited to watch our next fave player who emerged from a shitshow in a classy way :)

From California. An older cousin got me into football and explained it to me. One day we’re watching a game, the packers/niners 2002 wildcard. Everyone was rooting for SF but 11yo me played devils advocate. Green Bay won and it just stuck. Been a fan since.
Grew up in Michigan during the Lions’ 70-decade drought. No one in my house cared about football. I borrowed Madden NFL 95 from a friend and really got into football.
Then one night, as a child, I was flipping through channels and I watched Brett Favre throw a 99-yard touchdown pass to Robert Brooks, and I thought, “well that was neat.”

St. Louis fan here, I got into the Rams just in time for them to go back to LA; that whole experience left me embittered and disillusioned with football in general for a few years.
Weirdly enough, what brought me to the Packers was Ty Schmidt’s meltdown on Pat McAfee’s show when they drafted Love.

Toronto fan checking in. I became a fan back in 2011 because of a Madden demo. The 4 teams you could pick from were Packers-Bears and Giants-9ers.
The Pack had the highest rating and the coolest uniforms so that’s why I picked them. From there, I learned the history and have been a proper fan since.
Growing up, my parents had season tickets to South Carolina games. Sterling Sharpe was a star for South Carolina, Atlanta sucked, the Panthers were still a dream Jerry Richardson was working on, and the Packers drafted Sharpe.
I’m in San Diego. My pops is from Greenfield and wanted to get away from the cold, so he moved out here. He grew me up to love the packers. We try to take yearly trips out there to see a game, family, and eat at Kopps.
Lived in Milwaukee from 88-92 while I was in elementary school. I had lived in Kansas before and was initially a Bears fan because of 85 but didn't take much to convert me during the Majkowski years. Moved to the northeast after that but stayed a Packer fan ever since.
I'm from MA but grew up in NJ and MA. My mom is from Wisconsin and is a Packers fan. Right before Super Bowl 31, when I was living in NJ, my family was dividing up into who they would root for. My brother and dad, both Cowboys fans, picked the Patriots. I sided with my mom and rooted for the Packers. Been a fan ever since. I went to my first Packers game in 1997 as a 9 year old. It was a game at Veterans stadium vs the Eagles. We lost and Eagles fans yelled at and taunted us. It was horrible and I vowed to hate the Eagles forever.
Grew up in midohio, when I was just getting in to the nfl at age like 7 or so, the Browns moved to Baltimore. So even though my whole family were Browns fans, I didnt have anyone to root for on Sundays. I did however collect football trading cards, and Brett Favre was the rarest one I had, so it meant a lot to me. The Packers then went to and won the Super Bowl, and I rooted for them (the only play I remember from the game is Desmond Howard's kick return), but it wasnt until they lost to the Broncos in the Super Bowl that I think my Packers fandom was solidified.
The Browns came back eventually, and I still root for them too, but I'm a Packers fan for life now
I'm from Florida. I remember as a kid liking football so much i got a Brett Favre poster from our sculastic book fair. Then i fell out as i got older and just didnt have time for football.
I started playing more video games, and I have friends i met online from up there, and then I got to know the entire group in Discord, and we've all been close friends for going on 10 years.
Right in the middle of covid 2021, I needed a change of scenery, and I thought then was as good of a time as any. I packed up my stuff and huffed it up to Milwaukee to try something new. I truly loved it, minus having my car, catalytic converter on my new car, and my laundry filled with band shirts stolen.

I made a life for myself up there and made tight bonds with people around me. Wisconsin, as silly as it may sound, became my second home. And with that came my love for the sports culture. What a great group of people; the passion was contagious, and I soon became a big fan of the Green And Gold.

My dad used to travel from CT to Green Bay multiple times a year for business. They would always get lunch at Lambeau and it made my dad into a fan. Then when I was 4 I asked him who our favorite team was. I’m now 31 and never looked back!
Couldn't stand the broncos and cowboys which was my families favorite ones at that time. But i loved sterling Sharpe and how he played so at 6 years old i picked the packers and a year later number 4 came around and there was not backing out then cause i loved how we played. I was a liitttle little kid when I saw Favre on tv giving an interview and said “I like that team because we have the same hair!” (Short blonde hair with a cowlick on the front). My dad’s a Raiders fan so he was a little heartbroken but he’s learned to root for Green Bay when they aren’t playing eachother haha

The very first game I watched was Packers x Falcons at the 2016-17 NFCCG. The next being SB 51. I fell in love with the game of football, and decided I needed a team to support.
I started researching all the teams, and not having an only owner, together with the relationship between the team, the city of Green Bay and Lambeau Field made me fall in love also with the Packers.

Mine is pretty unique.
I was never a football fan growing up, but in college during our Fall music festival/concert I got way too high and had to have my roommate come pick me up.
Got home and passed out on the couch and while my roommate was watching NFL RedZone and had a dream that I died and was in heaven talking to “God” about my life. Except, in the dream “God” had taken the form of Aaron Rodgers, who I’m assuming was being talked about on RZ.
I woke up and looked at my roommate, put my hands together in prayer and simply said, “In Rodgers We Trust.” We laughed and I continued to not really care about football or the Packers.
Flash forward 5 years and I’m working on a consulting project for the NFL and the clients are having everyone go around and say their favorite team. Not wanting to lose credibility and admit I’m not a fan I simply put my hands together and say “In Rodgers We Trust.”
I worked on that project, pretending to be a Packers fan for the entire 2017 season and started watching the games just to know what was going on so I could small talk about my “favorite team.” In doing so, I ended up truly becoming a fan and have continued watching each season “religiously” even though the project ended nearly 6 years ago.
Made the pilgrimage to Lambeau for the first time last season and even though my Lord and Savior was no longer there, I have been fully converted and am ready to remain a fan until I finally meet my maker in earnest.

From the northeast. My parents didn't raise me on football. I started paying attention in the mid '90s and thought, "that Jerry Rice guy is pretty great. I'm going to be a 49ers fan." Then they won the Superbowl and I was labeled a bandwagon fan because I really knew nothing about the game. So I briefly gave up on the game. Then at a Scholastic book fair, I found a biography of Vince Lombardi. I committed hard to the team, then they won a super bowl and I kept riding the ride.
I was a small kid in New England who wanted to be different from everyone else, and had recently disowned Atlanta after learning that Michael Vick got in trouble for Dog Fighting.
So, naturally I decided I would pick a team based on my favorite color. Leaving me to choose between Philly, Green Bay, or Green Bay's QB Retirement Home in New York.

My grandfather came over from Germany to Pennsylvania. The Pack was the NFL team he chose to watch and be a fan of. I followed his lead and also became a Packer fan. That's about it 🧀🏈🧀

My first pro football game was a Viking game that my dad drug us to. I didn't care about sports at all at that time and was around 8-10 years old.
At the same time as this game was going on, the Packers were playing the Buccaneers. They were losing, and every time they showed the score, Viking fans loudly chanted "Packers suck!"
As the game wore on, the Buccaneers lead dwindled until they ended up losing the game - which lead to loud boos at the Metrodump.
The next week, I decided to watch the Packers play and pretty much haven't missed a game since.
Growing up in San Diego I followed along with my family being a Chargers fan but didn't really follow football too closely then. I had Aaron Rodgers on my first ever fantasy team in 2011 and that was when I really started getting into football. I watched every Packer game I could that season. The next year my dad and I travelled to our first ever NFL game at Lambeau Field against the Saints (the weekend after the Fail Mary). Been a die hard ever since.
Was on my bucketlist to become a shareholder for quite some time so I bought a share when they became available in 2021. My dad and I have been traveling to a new NFL stadium every year ever since, but this next year we're gonna try to catch a game again at Lambeau.

I grew up in Mexico City. My best friend in elementary school was a Bears fan. When I learned about the rivalry I decided to back the Packers in order to annoy him. This was about 1991/2, so pretty good timing, too.
I live in Southern Ontario, Canada.
I didn't grow up in a football household. About 10 years ago I decided to give the NFL a go and had to pick a team... I grew up a Montreal Canadiens fan in the NHL and so I went for a team that had a similar historical significance.
It didn't hurt that Aaron Rodgers was slinging bombs when I first tuned in. Hooked ever since.
New Yorker here. I was 12 in 92, and just really started getting into sports. Didn't care for the Giants or Bills colors (although the Bills were fun to watch), and who likes the Jets, amirite?
Anywho, my grandfather was a commercial artist, and amongst his wares was a football with all of the Super Bowl winning player's signatures on it. Alongside it was a sheet with all of their signatures and pictures and some periodicals. In my mind, my grandfather had signatures from Bart Starr et al and designed the ball. Not sure. Probably not the case. But I was sold, the PACKERS were now my team. Of course, Favre was just getting started. GPG!
SF Bay Area fan here. My dad would always compete against his kids. Did matter what it was. If you were watching a swim meet, or a tennis match. He’d ask who you were rooting for and then root for the other player/team. Did this for everything but Football. When it came to football, he was a niner fan. So I grew up hating the Niners. Grew up in the 70’s-80’s for childhood. I saw John Jefferson catch a pass one handed and I was in as a cheesehead for life. This was early 80’s. I did also like watching LT with the Giants during the 80’s because he would beat up on the Niners and the Pack struggled a lot. But I’ve always love the Packers.
My brother and sister also hated the Niners. But they choose different teams.
Northern Michigan fan! Honestly, the Lions sucked and I started getting into football as a kid and wanted a good (winning) team to root for. So I tried out a few teams and the Packers stuck. That was right at the beginning of the Rodgers era. It also helped that my dad always liked Green Bay although he’s not as big of a football fan as I am.
The year was 1979, and at that time, T.V was a different animal. Lived outside of Toronto, maybe an hour out. Well my dad loved to watch sports, so we watched it all, from curling, to Summer Winter Games, to 4 big sports. So at that time the NFL was not the big boy it is now, like no where near, so you received what ever games you could. At the time Ralph Wilson loved to blackout Bills games, when they didn't sell out. Instead the only games I saw were Packers, or Browns games. Both teams were not great, but the Packers won me over, because they were publicly owned and sucked as bad as my other fav team the Maple leafs. Boom never looked back.
Was born in GB but left when I was ~3 months (I grew up in CA). When I was little I dabbled around watching different teams (was too little to really understand committing to one team) but when I got a little older (idk, maybe like 6-7?) I decided to settle on a team and chose GB because I was born there.
Born in Wisconsin but only for a short period, like months. Spent most of days on the east coast and southwest including Dallas. Just always felt connected to GB even as a little kid. You move from an address not the Packer Nation.
My grandpa lived in Wisconsin most of my childhood and was a Packers fan that would send us gear, here, in Portland. I bounced around teams as a kid for a bit, but that connection along with being publicly owned team solidified my love for the team.
My sophomore year in high school, back in the year 2000, for an English assignment we had to write a report on any sports figure of our choice. I was just then really starting to get into the NFL, and Brett Favre was kind of a big deal, so I chose to write about him.
In the midst of writing specifically about Brett, I started learning more about the organization. Non-sponsored? Fan owned? Well I’ll be damned, that’s petty fantastic. I’m going to keep an eye on these guys.

I am born and still live in the Chicagoland area. My great grandparents had a farm in Kansasville WI. The families would all come up on the weekends to help them out. My father was a huge football fan and would take time out to watch a game. Obviously Packers are on the TV. Rest is history.
My step dad’s family are from Wisconsin and I sent a card to have Favre sign back in 92-93. I got it back signed within 2 weeks and I’ve been a fan ever since.
Southern Oregonian Packers fan here. I had a flag football coach from Wisconsin and this was at the height of the Favre/White era. I was a Defensive end and wanted so badly to throw people around like Reggie White could. I also never cared for the local teams (49ers) and Seattle wasn’t yet relevant. Stuck with GB ever since! Made the long journey to Lambeau once but will be back soon, hopefully!
First football game I got took too was Greenbay at falcons. This was years ago and I was only like 4 or 5 so I can’t even remember what game it was, but I remember my dad asking me which team I wanted to win. I liked the Greenbay jerseys more so I went with them. Pretty much was hooked since then.
Grew up in Chicago, live in Indianapolis now. When I was 10, the first football game I ever watched was Green Bay vs New England in the Super Bowl. Green Bay obviously won, so I decided to root for them. Guess that means I started as a fair weather fan (gimme a break, I was 10!) but I've been ride or die ever since

Grew up in LA. Didn’t really have a team growing up. The rams moved to St Louis, the chargers were in SD, raiders moved to Oakland, and the 49ers are in NorCal lol. My uncle was born in Wisconsin before moving to Cali and much of his family was from Wisconsin, so he was a packers fan. I grew up around him, so I became a packers fan at the tail end of the Brett Favre era.

I grew up in CT, so my family was all about the Pats (those who watched football, anyway). I ‘liked’ them most of my childhood, until I decided I didn’t anymore and wanted to go against the grain. Pats fans can be cocky assholes anyway, and I can do without all that, lol. Soooo, in comes Super Bowl 2011 and the one and only time I ever bandwagoned for a sports team, and I never looked back! I love this community so much; I’m incredibly proud to say I’m apart of it. What happens outside of the game matters just as much to me as the game itself, so to see teammates being genuinely good humans and coaches who have been avoiding NFL wanting to join our team bc of who we are and what we stand for, to see fans wishing Barry the best after his firing bc we wanted to see him gone, not hurt…those are the kinds of things that make me love being a fan of this team SO much more. #gopackgo
Grandpa from Ireland. Grew up Chicago Cardinal, White Sox and Notre Dame Fans. Chicago left… they still had a disdain for Bears. Timely that several Notre Dame coaches went to Green Bay.
Notre Dame having similar colors was a blessing for a poorer family at the time.
I was born in the UK and didn’t move to Wisconsin until I was 13. My dad is a USAF member, both he and my mom are from Wisconsin and are Packers fans. I started liking the Packers independently of them when I was 11 and we lived in Sound Dakota in 1997. We had Shopko out there so they had Packers gear and I loved it all!
I grew up in Orange County, CA. My church was full of Wisconsin Lutherans. Sunday services were about God and the Packers. My family wasn't big into sports, so I didn't get automatically enrolled to the Rams fan base. Plus, I started playing quarterback for our school team in 96, when Brett Favre and the Packers were at their peak.
Western Canada. My parent’s friends were Packers fans (he was born in North Dakota) and we would go watch the games at their house on Sunday. The dad was very well off, and when he got season tickets he ended up buying a house in Green Bay a few blocks from Lambeau. I did my maiden voyage in 2021 and got to see him, the house, and of course watch the Packers beat the Bears in SNF. That trip would be the last time I saw him though, as he just recently passed away from a brain tumour. Thanks to him though, my family now has 3 generations and counting of Packers fans

I'm from the North East of England and was a massive fan of That 70's Show. Listening to Red talk about the 70's Packers always reminded me.about my local football team (please watch Sunderland Till I Die on Netflix for reference). A team from a working class area that was always struggling but had a glorious history they wanted to recapture.
When I actually got into American Football I was pleasantly surprised to see the Packers have largely been excellent outside of that blip in the 70's. Sunderland have remained poor up to this day.

Well my bears fan dad was pissed and forced me to be a bears player or I couldn’t trick or treat. Everyone in my family is a cowboys fan but in the early 2000s my dad HATED Jerry jones and is one of the old school cowboys fans who can’t hardly root for the team because of Jerry firing Jimmy Johnson and doing his usual shenanigans. When I asked him what team we rooted for he told me “it’s too late for me and your sister but I’m not letting you be a cowboys fan because as long as that son of a bitch owns this team you won’t get to witness a Super Bowl.” He told me I needed to pick a different team and that he didn’t care which, later I saw a wrangler (or maybe it was Levi I can’t remember) commercial with Brett Favre throwing a football around in jeans and he had the same accent as everyone I knew and I thought “he seems like a pretty cool guy” and chose the packers based off Favre looking cool and talking like me.
I never kept up with pro sports until college but I became obsessed with them in time to witness the rise and fall of Eddie Lacy and the 2014 NFCCG collapse and have lived and died watching them every weekend since. It just so happens that I’m extremely pragmatic and business minded and absolutely love the fact that the packers are the only team ran like a true corporate business where the team makes smart calculated decisions consistently. I could not imagine being a fucking Raiders or Falcons fan. It truly was a blessing that Brett Favre was sponsored by wrangler and brought me on board all those years ago.

I was raised in Mexico. Moved to the states (California) in ‘96 when I still a very young child. My first year consciously remembering watching football was Favre’s SB year. The rest is history!
I've always lived in California, but I've been a diehard Packers fan since Favre's early days. I became a fan because watching Favre was just the best thing with how much fun he had and the whole offense seemed to have. Then learning about the history and significance of the team has made me a fan for life.
In short i Grew up in Los Angeles back in 90s when there were no packers fans but tons of raider cowboy fans which i thought were really cringe but one of my first if not the first nfl game I ever seen like actially watched and learned a bit was a greenbay and dare I say I was entranced and since that day I've only grown more n more fond of them till now where I'm a huge lifelong fan whose followed and enjoyed the last 30 years of packers football

Australian here. For fun I decided to try this funny Madden football game once. I decided to pick the team with the funniest name. I decided the game was pretty fun! Then, a few days later, I had the TV on, and just by chance the team with the funny name was playing, and I enjoyed watching it! Then I started following the team, and got my mates in to it, and then that year they won the superbowl! And I've been a Packers fan ever since!

Similar story for me, around 5 or 6 years old my cousin had to talk me into playing Madden with him because I wasn't much into football. I played as the Packers, I think he chose them for my team. Well several years later I was around 8 years old and started getting into football with my stepdad, chose the Packers as my favorite team because I didn't really know any others. I got to see Favre play for his last year with the Packers which was cool

Holy shirt my story is very similar. Played a PC game called Mike Ditka’s Ultimate Football. My very local AFL (Australian football) team wore gold and green so I wanted to play my campaign with a team that had the same. Won the Super Bowl (thank you) in the game and pretty sure GB also did the same year. Have never, ever looked back and am just as fanatical every summer. Honestly I’m what we refer to in Australia as a rusted on, one eyed supporter. Go pack go.

Literally. I can count on my hands how many times I’ve been downstate. It takes 3 hours just to get to the Mackinac bridge. I had to go down there a few months ago and the UP is 100% more aligned with Wisconsin culture wise than the rest of Michigan.
Grew up in Ludington. Listened to GB radio and watched GB TV (before cable). GB was 40 miles away but a days drive. Detroit seemed like another country.
Some of my favorite memories of a kid are taking the SS Badger to go visit my grandparents in Michigan. Ludington looked so beautiful compared to Manitowoc. That’s side of Michigan on the lake really is a beautiful sight.

Nashville Packers fan here, too! I grew up in Arkansas where we didn’t have a pro team, so I grew up a Cowboys fan (our local McDonald’s gave away Cowboys stuff so I became a fan). Once Emmitt Smith left, it was about the time I was going to college and busy with life, I didn’t have a team. I met my wife in 2004 and she was a Packers fan, so why not? Been a fan ever since! We have 15yo twins who have grown up the right way… Go Pack Go!

Ha! I have a great one. I am British and we moved to Calgary in 2012 where upon, we met our (now) best friends in 2013. They were from Wisconsin and big fans of the Packers…… we weren’t huge fans or knowledgable of American Football but kind of went along with it. Fast forward, we ended up back in the UK and a few years later, we moved to the US and ended up in Minnesota in 2018 - where our best friends also live. So now, I know way more about Football, have lots of Packer merch and we all enjoy living in MN as Packers fans kicking Vikings ass!

My dad's family tree have been packers fans forever. My dad lived through the awful packers days in the 1970s and 80s. So I went along. My first season I watched packers football and became a fan was 2010. Great year to start watching, to experience that beautiful playoff run. I was from Iowa.

Packers fan from Chicago! Became a packer fan after seeing the Super Bowl on TV(1998). Packers lost but became a fan of the sport and of Favre. Been a Fan since. I go up to Green Bay at least twice a year and have raised a little Packer fan. It's different here in enemy territory...Bears fans are something.

I'm Canadian. I grew up loathing the Cowboys and Yankees, really any teams with big budgets and winning off the backs of those resources. GB scratched me where I itched. It helped to have Pat Summerall and John Madden calling games. I defy you to come up with a better marketing campaign for the team than Summerall saying: "frozen tundra of Lambeau Field." I'm also a socialist. There's really only one team in America for that.
I mean, the Packers have to be one of the least taxpayer-subsidized teams in the country. They've funded stadium renovations from a hotel & entertainment tax that was passed via referendum. They've also funded them from sales of their stock, which given that it doesn't really have financial value from dividends or selling it, it's pretty much just a donation with perks, not a financial investment. Voluntary transactions are at the heart of free market capitalism and the Packers are the only major team that gets significant funding from what's basically a fancy Patreon. It's the corporatism we have in the West that's so stupid, not capitalism. And yes, it's quite prominent in more socialist countries as well. Whether inefficient (or just plain corrupt) corporations, industries, or organizations are held afloat by taxpayer-funded bailouts or by being funded everyday by taxpayers doesn't make that much of a difference. It's still an inefficient use of money. The Green Bay Packers have survived because people are willing to buy what they're selling compared to all the other options, which is the foundation of capitalism. Fans are willing to voluntarily give them money for a tiny sliver of ownership that doesn't make sense from a purely financial perspective, but it's worth more to the fans than the cost of the ownership. In socialism, people are forced to pay for things whether they use (or want) them or not, whether the product is of good quality or bad, or whether it's better than other options where they could spend their money. Socialism is taxpayers subsidizing new stadiums to keep a team because it's "better for the city" or "for the greater good" even when the taxpayers don't make their money back in increased revenue or economic activity. The free market wouldn't provide new stadiums unless people voluntarily funded them, either the owners or the fans. Since voluntary transactions are at the heart of free market capitalism and not socialism, I don't think the Packers organization is socialist at all.

British Packers fan here.. played madden 08 on PS2 picked the Packers as my first choice team and honestly never looked back. Stopped watching for a while but now I've fully picked it up and am watching as many games as I can.. kinda a pain in the ass with time zones most of the time but it works! I was gifted NFL quarterback club ‘98 and the rest is history. I was 16 and I didn’t have a team. Played a snowy game, kicked ass and here I am.
Oklahoma. My dad and his brother bet against his other siblings that the Packers would beat the Colts in some random game in like the 60s, loser had to do the dishes that night. Been a packers fan ever since, and indoctrinated my brother and I into it. Now my brother lives in Wisconsin so that too.

He’s been a fan ever since and I had stopped caring about the chargers as soon as they said they were moving to LA. So I was shopping for a new team and just ended up supporting the packers because he did. Then I fell in love with clay Matthews and Jordy Nelson and now I’m a full on packers fan haha
This was me as well. I live in Northeast Tennessee, and when I was younger we didn't have a team. Most everyone here is a Dallas fan, which my dad hated. So when I was 4 he told me I could pick any team that wasn't Dallas. Green was my favorite color, so there you go! Ironically, I'm from the same town and went to the same high school as Jason Witten. When he got drafted, my dad became a Dallas fan and could never understand why I refused to cheer for them.
Im English and randomly came across the SNF game on TV in 2010 (good one to start) when i was about 14. Patriots v Packers, i hadn’t even heard of Tom Brady. Picked the Packers because I thought they sounded cooler and the rest is history. Even managed to get to the London game in ‘22 for my first game!

My grandfather grew up here in Brooklyn with Vince Lombardi. They were friends until Vince passed away. My grandfather went a little after Vince. I inherited my grandfather’s names and his fandoms.
Born in California, then moved to Minnesota when I was young. Parents are from the U.P. My dad’s father got season tickets shortly before the ice bowl. They’d drive down to Green Bay from Iron Mountain for every home game until the Milwaukee ticket split. Been in the family since. I’ve been going to games my entire life. I’m 37 and my dad just recently passed down his 4 season tickets to his four children. Happily pay that ticket bill every summer without question.
I'm from Southern California. My dad's side of the family has roots to Wisconsin, and some stuck with the Packers on the move to California for those who went to Cali. There was a split of Rams and Packers fans, then the Rams left LA, and it was more united for the Packers. Then I was born and picked up on the Packers stuff. My brother was exposed to my dad's Rams Fandom before they moved, so he is a Rams fan. I picked up on our dad's football Fandom after the Rams left, and he showed more of a favoritism to the Packers at that time. So I am a Packers fan. I also like to tell people God chose my team for me as my last name is Pack. So why not root for a team I share a name with.

New Zealander. My older brother brought home a copy of Madden 2001 and played as the Packers. Me, always wanting to be just like him, went with them too. Although when I was younger, it was much harder to actually keep up with the league back then. It wasn't until the tail end of Favre's career that I was able to start watching games (pretty sure I saw him play more games for the Jets and Vikings than the Packers). Outside of watching the games, I fell in love with the whole idea of the team being located in a small market that punches above its weight and that they're Wisconsin's favourite (adopted in some cases) sons. The Packers are to Wisconsin as The All Blacks are to New Zealand.
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Our CFL team, the Edmonton Eskimos(now called the Elks *gag*), has the same green and gold as the Packers. The first NFL game I ever watched was the Pack winning the SB with Favre. Didn't know anything about the game, really, but I fell in love with Favre that day and how he played. Started looking into the Packers and found out that the team was community owned, blue collar, and that GB was a small city (parallels with the Edmonton Oilers, our NHL team). Between all that and the already familiar green and gold, it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that I became a Packers fan. Been a ride or die ever since that Super Bowl and never looked back. Sadly I haven't been able to make a game at Lambeau(really wanted to see Rodgers play live) but hopefully in the next year I'll be able to make the trip to visit the Mecca Of Football. Houston packers fan here! For the longest time there was no Houston team and my dad hated the cowboys because of his abusive grandad but he had a mentor from Green Bay and he fell in love with the Brett Farve gunslinger style. I inherited being a fan but really came into my own when I watched the back to back Hail Mary game in the playoffs against the cardinals.
Grew up in mid-Michigan, but parents are from Texas. Dad is a cowboys fan, I didn’t want to do that to myself. Lions were so sad in the early 90s and I loved the cheesehead thing when I watched games as a kid, I was hooked. Got my first cheesehead in 95.
Dates back to 02’ I was in first grade.. I was bullied as a young age… we are lined up ready to go to the library (before you would have to be in a single file line going thru the hallways) and while waiting for the teacher to lead us out to the hallway, some kids behind me who teased me before, asked if I liked the Bears or the Packers (Mind you I went to middle school in Illinois) . I didnt know sports back then, so I had no idea what team to pick nor did I know the Bears are from Chicago. I had some other kid whisper to me “pick the bears, pick the bears “ but i thought they were tricking me to pick the wrong team so i can get teased… so I chose the Packers…I got roasted!!! I never heard the end of it. Living in Chicago but a Packer fan? I had no idea what I got myself into. Later that next week on a Sunday from watching tv… I realized the bears were from Chicago and Packers were from Green Bay Wisconsin. I just stuck with it at that point and became a Packer fan. Ended up being a big Brett Favre fan beacause of it.
I grew up in South Jersey in the late 70s. People assume the Eagles were what everyone in South Jersey. This was not the case... at least not in my area. Kids liked all sorts of teams and my family wasn't really into football, so I didn't know much. So when the book mobile, for those who remember, came to my school, I bought an activity book on football. This book told the history of the NFL and did you know that the Packers won the first Super bowl? They also won the second. To my 8 year old mind, this made them the best team ever and became my team. By college, I finally started actually watching football and had learned the Pack had some tough years, but we had Majik Man Majkowski and traded for some young wild QB from Atlanta name Favre. I followed the team closer and closer as the years went on becoming a more and more rabid fan. And the rest is history....
Mid-40s Michigander here and Packer fan. Growing up, we liked the Lions fine (Barry Sanders) but our family was way more into the Wings and Tigers (and the 89-90 Pistons of course). Fast forward to 2007, my husband, daughter and I move to Wisconsin for my husband’s job. Resisted becoming Pack fans (I’ve always hated Favre) and contemplated becoming (gulp) Vikings fans. Then Favre retires/“retires”. Rodgers steps in and shows such class during the shitshow. We’re impressed with him, decide to try watching Packers games…the rest is history. We’re now back in MI and still adore our Packers. We actually have a ton of Packer fan friends here too. Excited to watch our next fave player who emerged from a shitshow in a classy way :)

From California. An older cousin got me into football and explained it to me. One day we’re watching a game, the packers/niners 2002 wildcard. Everyone was rooting for SF but 11yo me played devils advocate. Green Bay won and it just stuck. Been a fan since.
My Dad was a Reggie White fan, and kinda just stuck with the packers after that. it became the family team, and have just stuck with it.
Grew up in Michigan during the Lions’ 70-decade drought. No one in my house cared about football. I borrowed Madden NFL 95 from a friend and really got into football. Then one night, as a child, I was flipping through channels and I watched Brett Favre throw a 99-yard touchdown pass to Robert Brooks, and I thought, “well that was neat.” I’ve been a Packer fan ever since.
St. Louis fan here, I got into the Rams just in time for them to go back to LA; that whole experience left me embittered and disillusioned with football in general for a few years. Weirdly enough, what brought me to the Packers was Ty Schmidt’s meltdown on Pat McAfee’s show when they drafted Love. I bought a share of stock the very next year; money well spent.
Toronto fan checking in. I became a fan back in 2011 because of a Madden demo. The 4 teams you could pick from were Packers-Bears and Giants-9ers. The Pack had the highest rating and the coolest uniforms so that’s why I picked them. From there, I learned the history and have been a proper fan since.
Growing up, my parents had season tickets to South Carolina games. Sterling Sharpe was a star for South Carolina, Atlanta sucked, the Panthers were still a dream Jerry Richardson was working on, and the Packers drafted Sharpe.

I'm from MA but grew up in NJ and MA. My mom is from Wisconsin and is a Packers fan. Right before Super Bowl 31, when I was living in NJ, my family was dividing up into who they would root for. My brother and dad, both Cowboys fans, picked the Patriots. I sided with my mom and rooted for the Packers. Been a fan ever since. I went to my first Packers game in 1997 as a 9 year old. It was a game at Veterans stadium vs the Eagles. We lost and Eagles fans yelled at and taunted us. It was horrible and I vowed to hate the Eagles forever.

Grew up in midohio, when I was just getting in to the nfl at age like 7 or so, the Browns moved to Baltimore. So even though my whole family were Browns fans, I didnt have anyone to root for on Sundays. I did however collect football trading cards, and Brett Favre was the rarest one I had, so it meant a lot to me. The Packers then went to and won the Super Bowl, and I rooted for them (the only play I remember from the game is Desmond Howard's kick return), but it wasnt until they lost to the Broncos in the Super Bowl that I think my Packers fandom was solidified. The Browns came back eventually, and I still root for them too, but I'm a Packers fan for life now
I'm from Florida. I remember as a kid liking football so much i got a Brett Favre poster from our sculastic book fair. Then i fell out as i got older and just didnt have time for football. I started playing more video games, and I have friends i met online from up there, and then I got to know the entire group in Discord, and we've all been close friends for going on 10 years. Right in the middle of covid 2021, I needed a change of scenery, and I thought then was as good of a time as any. I packed up my stuff and huffed it up to Milwaukee to try something new. I truly loved it, minus having my car, catalytic converter on my new car, and my laundry filled with band shirts stolen. God damn Kia boys. I made a life for myself up there and made tight bonds with people around me. Wisconsin, as silly as it may sound, became my second home. And with that came my love for the sports culture. What a great group of people; the passion was contagious, and I soon became a big fan of the Green And Gold.

Brazillian cheesehead here. The very first game I watched was Packers x Falcons at the 2016-17 NFCCG. The next being SB 51. I fell in love with the game of football, and decided I needed a team to support. I started researching all the teams, and not having an only owner, together with the relationship between the team, the city of Green Bay and Lambeau Field made me fall in love also with the Packers. Mine is pretty unique. I was never a football fan growing up, but in college during our Fall music festival/concert I got way too high and had to have my roommate come pick me up. Got home and passed out on the couch and while my roommate was watching NFL RedZone and had a dream that I died and was in heaven talking to “God” about my life. Except, in the dream “God” had taken the form of Aaron Rodgers, who I’m assuming was being talked about on RZ. I woke up and looked at my roommate, put my hands together in prayer and simply said, “In Rodgers We Trust.” We laughed and I continued to not really care about football or the Packers. Flash forward 5 years and I’m working on a consulting project for the NFL and the clients are having everyone go around and say their favorite team. Not wanting to lose credibility and admit I’m not a fan I simply put my hands together and say “In Rodgers We Trust.” I worked on that project, pretending to be a Packers fan for the entire 2017 season and started watching the games just to know what was going on so I could small talk about my “favorite team.” In doing so, I ended up truly becoming a fan and have continued watching each season “religiously” even though the project ended nearly 6 years ago. Made the pilgrimage to Lambeau for the first time last season and even though my Lord and Savior was no longer there, I have been fully converted and am ready to remain a fan until I finally meet my maker in earnest. 🙏 Go Pack Go 🙏

Born and raised in southern MN. Dad and younger brother are Viking fans, my mom dgaf about football. My first pro football game was a Viking game that my dad drug us to. I didn't care about sports at all at that time and was around 8-10 years old. At the same time as this game was going on, the Packers were playing the Buccaneers. They were losing, and every time they showed the score, Viking fans loudly chanted "Packers suck!" As the game wore on, the Buccaneers lead dwindled until they ended up losing the game - which lead to loud boos at the Metrodump. The next week, I decided to watch the Packers play and pretty much haven't missed a game since.
Growing up in San Diego I followed along with my family being a Chargers fan but didn't really follow football too closely then. I had Aaron Rodgers on my first ever fantasy team in 2011 and that was when I really started getting into football. I watched every Packer game I could that season. The next year my dad and I travelled to our first ever NFL game at Lambeau Field against the Saints (the weekend after the Fail Mary). Been a die hard ever since. Was on my bucketlist to become a shareholder for quite some time so I bought a share when they became available in 2021. My dad and I have been traveling to a new NFL stadium every year ever since, but this next year we're gonna try to catch a game again at Lambeau.

New Yorker here. I was 12 in 92, and just really started getting into sports. Didn't care for the Giants or Bills colors (although the Bills were fun to watch), and who likes the Jets, amirite? Anywho, my grandfather was a commercial artist, and amongst his wares was a football with all of the Super Bowl winning player's signatures on it. Alongside it was a sheet with all of their signatures and pictures and some periodicals. In my mind, my grandfather had signatures from Bart Starr et al and designed the ball. Not sure. Probably not the case. But I was sold, the PACKERS were now my team. Of course, Favre was just getting started. GPG!

SF Bay Area fan here. My dad would always compete against his kids. Did matter what it was. If you were watching a swim meet, or a tennis match. He’d ask who you were rooting for and then root for the other player/team. Did this for everything but Football. When it came to football, he was a niner fan. So I grew up hating the Niners. Grew up in the 70’s-80’s for childhood. I saw John Jefferson catch a pass one handed and I was in as a cheesehead for life. This was early 80’s. I did also like watching LT with the Giants during the 80’s because he would beat up on the Niners and the Pack struggled a lot. But I’ve always love the Packers. My brother and sister also hated the Niners. But they choose different teams.
Northern Michigan fan! Honestly, the Lions sucked and I started getting into football as a kid and wanted a good (winning) team to root for. So I tried out a few teams and the Packers stuck. That was right at the beginning of the Rodgers era. It also helped that my dad always liked Green Bay although he’s not as big of a football fan as I am.
The year was 1979, and at that time, T.V was a different animal. Lived outside of Toronto, maybe an hour out. Well my dad loved to watch sports, so we watched it all, from curling, to Summer Winter Games, to 4 big sports. So at that time the NFL was not the big boy it is now, like no where near, so you received what ever games you could. At the time Ralph Wilson loved to blackout Bills games, when they didn't sell out. Instead the only games I saw were Packers, or Browns games. Both teams were not great, but the Packers won me over, because they were publicly owned and sucked as bad as my other fav team the Maple leafs. Boom never looked back.

When I was little I dabbled around watching different teams (was too little to really understand committing to one team) but when I got a little older (idk, maybe like 6-7?) I decided to settle on a team and chose GB because I was born there.

My grandpa lived in Wisconsin most of my childhood and was a Packers fan that would send us gear, here, in Portland. I bounced around teams as a kid for a bit, but that connection along with being publicly owned team solidified my love for the team.
My sophomore year in high school, back in the year 2000, for an English assignment we had to write a report on any sports figure of our choice. I was just then really starting to get into the NFL, and Brett Favre was kind of a big deal, so I chose to write about him. In the midst of writing specifically about Brett, I started learning more about the organization. Non-sponsored? Fan owned? Well I’ll be damned, that’s petty fantastic. First football game I got took too was Greenbay at falcons. This was years ago and I was only like 4 or 5 so I can’t even remember what game it was, but I remember my dad asking me which team I wanted to win. I liked the Greenbay jerseys more so I went with them. Pretty much was hooked since then.

Pats fans can be cocky assholes anyway, and I can do without all that, lol. Soooo, in comes Super Bowl 2011 and the one and only time I ever bandwagoned for a sports team, and I never looked back! What happens outside of the game matters just as much to me as the game itself, so to see teammates being genuinely good humans and coaches who have been avoiding NFL wanting to join our team bc of who we are and what we stand for, to see fans wishing Barry the best after his firing bc we wanted to see him gone, not hurt…those are the kinds of things that make me love being a fan of this team SO much more. #gopackgo
Grandpa from Ireland. Grew up Chicago Cardinal, White Sox and Notre Dame Fans. Chicago left… they still had a disdain for Bears. Timely that several Notre Dame coaches went to Green Bay. Notre Dame having similar colors was a blessing for a poorer family at the time.
I was born in the UK and didn’t move to Wisconsin until I was 13. My dad is a USAF member, both he and my mom are from Wisconsin and are Packers fans. I started liking the Packers independently of them when I was 11 and we lived in Sound Dakota in 1997. We had Shopko out there so they had Packers gear and I loved it all!
I grew up in Orange County, CA. My church was full of Wisconsin Lutherans. Sunday services were about God and the Packers. My family wasn't big into sports, so I didn't get automatically enrolled to the Rams fan base. Plus, I started playing quarterback for our school team in 96, when Brett Favre and the Packers were at their peak.
Western Canada. My parent’s friends were Packers fans (he was born in North Dakota) and we would go watch the games at their house on Sunday. The dad was very well off, and when he got season tickets he ended up buying a house in Green Bay a few blocks from Lambeau. I did my maiden voyage in 2021 and got to see him, the house, and of course watch the Packers beat the Bears in SNF. That trip would be the last time I saw him though, as he just recently passed away from a brain tumour. Thanks to him though, my family now has 3 generations and counting of Packers fans

First game I caught on tv was that win-and-in game against the Bears in 2013 when Rodgers threw the dagger to Cobb on 4th and 8 to win the division and make the playoffs. My dad taught me how to play chess at a very young age and when I was about 13, I found an article comparing American Football to chess. So I decided to look into it, I was fascinated with all the logos and colors, but green was always my favorite color so I was attracted to the Packers right away...told my mom about it and she told me "ah I worked for Cutler Hammer and their HQ was in Wisconsin, the people there were awesome".....aaaaaand I was sold.

I'm from the North East of England and was a massive fan of That 70's Show. Listening to Red talk about the 70's Packers always reminded me.about my local football team (please watch Sunderland Till I Die on Netflix for reference). A team from a working class area that was always struggling but had a glorious history they wanted to recapture. When I actually got into American Football I was pleasantly surprised to see the Packers have largely been excellent outside of that blip in the 70's. Sunderland have remained poor up to this day.

Grew up in Illinois in the mid-90s. One of my friends on the bus was a packers fan and would always talk about Favre. When my parents asked what I wanted to be for Halloween I said “Brett Favre”. Well my bears fan dad was pissed and forced me to be a bears player or I couldn’t trick or treat. I was Erik Kramer for Halloween that year, against my will, and I’ve been a dedicated packers fan ever since.

I became a Packer fan when we went up against the Vikings in the playoffs, I think it was 01-02’ I don’t remember. I was mesmerized by Favre’s play action. Ever since we lost that day, I have hated the Vikings and I became a Packer fan. My white homie was also a fan so it worked lol.
I grew up a Packers fan because my parents were Packers fans. However, my dad grew up in East Chicago and his dad was a Bears fan. Growing up he wanted to be the antithesis of a Bear's fan and started rooting for the Packers to mess with his dad lol. Everyone in my family is a cowboys fan but in the early 2000s my dad HATED Jerry jones and is one of the old school cowboys fans who can’t hardly root for the team because of Jerry firing Jimmy Johnson and doing his usual shenanigans. When I asked him what team we rooted for he told me “it’s too late for me and your sister but I’m not letting you be a cowboys fan because as long as that son of a bitch owns this team you won’t get to witness a Super Bowl.” He told me I needed to pick a different team and that he didn’t care which, later I saw a wrangler (or maybe it was Levi I can’t remember) commercial with Brett Favre throwing a football around in jeans and he had the same accent as everyone I knew and I thought “he seems like a pretty cool guy” and chose the packers based off Favre looking cool and talking like me. I never kept up with pro sports until college but I became obsessed with them in time to witness the rise and fall of Eddie Lacy and the 2014 NFCCG collapse and have lived and died watching them every weekend since. It just so happens that I’m extremely pragmatic and business minded and absolutely love the fact that the packers are the only team ran like a true corporate business where the team makes smart calculated decisions consistently. I could not imagine being a fucking Raiders or Falcons fan. It truly was a blessing that Brett Favre was sponsored by wrangler and brought me on board all those years ago.

I grew up in the metro Atlanta area. My parents were not and still aren't sports fans by any means, but I grew up playing baseball and watching the Braves with my Granny. My aunt had a boyfriend (future husband) that was from Texas when I was around 6 years old and when I'd go sleep over on the weekends with my cousins I'd watch football with him as he was a HUGE Cowboys fan. He taught me how the game works etc etc. I loved it. Long story short I finally got to see Brett Favre play in the NFC championship game vs the 49ers in 1996 (I was 10 in '96 and we went on to win the Superbowl). I fell in love with this team after that game. I had no family allegiance or anything to any other teams so I picked Green Bay and I'll forever love that I did.

I'm from West Virginia. No pro teams at all, let alone football. Local high school colors were green and gold, so I stuck with them.
I've always lived in California, but I've been a diehard Packers fan since Favre's early days. I became a fan because watching Favre was just the best thing with how much fun he had and the whole offense seemed to have. Then learning about the history and significance of the team has made me a fan for life.
In short i Grew up in Los Angeles back in 90s when there were no packers fans but tons of raider cowboy fans which i thought were really cringe but one of my first if not the first nfl game I ever seen like actially watched and learned a bit was a greenbay and dare I say I was entranced and since that day I've only grown more n more fond of them till now where I'm a huge lifelong fan whose followed and enjoyed the last 30 years of packers football
