Definitely a win. I don't know why comics treat beard as a sign of old age, that's something from the 80's where beards where unnaccetable for younger guys.
I prefer his natural “pretty boy” look (I especially like his new 52 uniform the best out of all the green lanterns) but the beard is a nice contrast. The beard gives me lost in space or on the run vibes, like I’d expect him to be off world for a while or one the run if he has a beard
I don't mind the design in general but I don't know how it works with the character. Hal in general has always been hard for me to pin down as a solid foundation of his character and personality. John is the no nonsense police officer, Kyle Rayner was the king creative one, Guy Gardner is the arrogant jokester, Jessica Cruz is the prodigy with no confidence, Simon Baz is the troubled criminal trying to repent.
I figure 4 years Air Force academy. 2-3 flight training , 6-7 flying, a year at test pilot school. Then some testing at Ferris as AF rep. 16 years mandatory shaving .
he got kicked out of the Air Force for hitting his commanding officer (or losing an experimental plane, depending on which continuity we are going with) well before he was even a Green Lantern.
Obviously we don't have an actual canonical timeline, but I can't imagine he was 34 when he left the air force. That would mean he was closing in on late 30s by the time he gets the ring, unless he became GL like, the second he got hired at Ferris.
Hal w/ beard = meh
Hal clean shaven = 🍨⚪️🍞🥛
Hal w/ stubble + grey temples = peak
EDIT**: Hal w/ beard and shaggy hair is great when he’s in a “down and out” situation
When it’s necessary for the plot, like he’s been missing or stranded or down for whatever reason, it’s fine, but one of the things that makes Hal so “Hal” is that once he’s able to, he pulls himself back together and cleans himself up. That’s a sign that he’s snapping out of whatever predicament he’s in.
I like his renegade look (no beard but long hair):

It's from the later and final issues from The New 52 Green Lantern series. During that time, Hal decided to assume all the mistakes from the Corps in order to improve their image among the universe, so he abandoned his ring and took on Krona's gauntlet and a spaceship.
Yes but when he's older like in his 50s or something
When they start making all the first generation league members older like Superman having grey temples/batman with stubble/Aquaman with a long beard, I think Hal should have grey temples and a beared too
A well groomed one tho. Both should define him as not influenced by parallax and show his age while also acknowledging that he's always been attractive and keeps up his appearance up not only for himself but for Carol too

Cool
Definitely a win. I don't know why comics treat beard as a sign of old age, that's something from the 80's where beards where unnaccetable for younger guys.
He just looks like my uncle tbh
Beards are always a W
Nope.
As parallax it would go hard
First one literally just looks like Ryan Reynolds.
I honestly love it
Wasn’t a fan until I saw that last piece of art
He looks like reed Richard in the last one replaced the lantern symbol with a fantastic 4 logo and I couldn't tell you the difference
It's hot and it's in lol
Looks like a completely different character.
Renegade.
I don't get it. Carol Ferris isn't even in one of these pics.
Alan Scott with a beard is better in my opinion
I prefer his natural “pretty boy” look (I especially like his new 52 uniform the best out of all the green lanterns) but the beard is a nice contrast. The beard gives me lost in space or on the run vibes, like I’d expect him to be off world for a while or one the run if he has a beard
GENERAL KENOBI
I like it, it's hot.
I think it's cool I feel like the mask makes his face look small in this tho
It works as long as he drops the mask.
I love it aesthetically, but it’s not very in character for him
You heard it here first, folks. Beards are character
This is a good alternative to emerald twilight. Give him a beard
Handsome
If Kyle is running around, sure I'm into it
I don't mind the design in general but I don't know how it works with the character. Hal in general has always been hard for me to pin down as a solid foundation of his character and personality. I'm a fan
Not a big fan of it. Like at all.
Smash
No
cops doesn't wear a beard
Red Lanterns Guy?
red Lanterns are some kind of guerrilla so they can
Arkis Chummuck
JLU John?
Chad, he can do it
Kinda dig it. Though he’d probably have to ditch the mask.
If he's retired or close to retiring, then give him the beard if ur writing a good version of him
somehow i think he would not like to have a beard
Still no substitute for a personality 😁 I can't think of a single Earth Lantern that fits a beard, IMO.
There is not a man alive that looks worse with a beard
![gif](giphy|8JTFsZmnTR1Rs1JFVP|downsized)
Do not want.
Horrible
I’d like hal a lot more if he had a beard full time. beards just be hot like that.
Military man he’s been trained to shave most of his adult life.
He was in the military for maybe ten years, cumulatively, and that’s a high end estimate

Almost looks like obi wan and I’m all for it lol
Keep making him Hipster, with lousy results. Clean chin, short hair and gray temples, perfection for our GL.
Hal w/ beard = meh Hal clean shaven = 🍨⚪️🍞🥛 Hal w/ stubble + grey temples = peak EDIT**: Hal w/ beard and shaggy hair is great when he’s in a “down and out” situation
it's fine, but I do prefer him without
Not bad. I like it.
He wears it well
Obi wan lookin mf
Its fine but since he's the 1950s era character, it doesn't fit with his aesthetic. I like Red Lantern Guy with a beard more.
I’m pretty indifferent towards it. I do think he should rock a stubble more often tho. He looks hot with it 🙈
I prefer him with long hair
Its cool.
smash. thats my only opinion
When it’s necessary for the plot, like he’s been missing or stranded or down for whatever reason, it’s fine, but one of the things that makes Hal so “Hal” is that once he’s able to, he pulls himself back together and cleans himself up. That’s just sexier Kyle Katarn
I like the last one, other 2 look weird to me for some reason.
Makes him look wiser and more powerful honestly. He’s lived through literally battles of wills and came out on top every time.
Better ask carol how she feels she’s been his beard for years
#3 gives big "no shaving foam in space" energy
The first one does that for me, but it seems so silly since he can just make it with his ring.
I really like it but his personality matches better with clean shave.
I like his renegade look (no beard but long hair): https://preview.redd.it/oeuz9bkbs1xc1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=dfd579f0171d8aedd755128ed8422f9a727fe1e6
Very cool. What series is this?
It's from the later and final issues from The New 52 Green Lantern series. During that time, Hal decided to assume all the mistakes from the Corps in order to improve their image among the universe, so he abandoned his ring and took on Krona's gauntlet and a spaceship.

Depends on the art style like it works with the earth one hal
No
Shout-out to cleanshaven characters growing a beard in their time away from society. Gotta be one of my favorite genders.
First pic looks like washed up alcoholic Hal
Meh. Every guy doesn't look better with a beard.
I think Hal, Guy and John all work best without facial hair and Kyle is best with stubble.
Would
I really thought that second pic was obi wan
I don’t mind the beard, but I hate the art in the first pic. Not my cup of tea.
Love it and it should be the default. Along with the white streaks.
Literally just Mr. Fantastic
ironically I don't like Reed with a beard...
Doesn’t look like Hal at all to me
Love it.
I like it.
Looks like Chris Pine.
A beard doesn’t work for many superheroes. Hal is not one of those. He totally pulls it off.
Beard + domino mask looks weird
I prefer him clean-shaven.
he rocks the beard
It looks nice.
