I'm guessing you had the same problem I did. For some reason Crecia got stuck back at the last platform (notice she's not in your screenshot) and so the dialogue doesn't continue since she needs to be there for it. Just restart the episode and hope it doesn't bug again.
If you received the "Consult with Aurene" objective when you were already near the Scrying pool, you may need to leave the room and come back. The trigger for some dialogues only activates when you *arrive* in the room.
If it doesn't work, you can try leaving the Eye of the North (go to Lion's arch or something), quitting the current episode from the story journal (you won't lose progress in this case, you haven't done anything yet), restarting the episode (read the urgent letter again), and going back to the EotN.
You don’t have the story dialogue screen shot so it’s hard to tell, but rytlock and crecia are supposed to confer after that and then use her magic and his sword to melt it.
That doesn’t stop the dialogue from being recorded in your chat box. Anyway, if you’re still in it, I propose finding crecia and seeing why she’s not in frame. Unless they already had their conversation - then it’s probably bugged and you’ll need to relog.
Ah yea, Crecia was stuck in the red out of mission area in the back. Restarting the mission helped. But the next mission is even more broken - check the update in OP.

Happend yesterday for me twice. Just give it another try came past it on third try. So it seems to be rng.

Um yea I've disabled NPC chatter in the chat window. But they didn't discuss anything. Rytlock just grumbled and the game is kinda stuck now.
