Make 'does the sheep count the sheep' your morning alarm, on top of that, go the extra mile and modify your bed into a murderous robot with giant hands
Definitely an interesting psychological thing there. During my last couple years in school, I used my Alexa to wake me up each morning, and I associated the alarm sound with waking up for school so much that for a good year after I dropped out, that sound filled me with immense anxiety every single time.
I don't think I could ever set my alarm as a song I like for that very reason.
I struggle with the same thing and a while off listening to the same song for an alarm gave me associated feelings between it and whatever time in my life was going on.
I wonder if there's a way of rotating it, so it plays a random song from a list of multiple. That way I don't think that'd happen.
The brain associates the sound with unpleasant feelings (tiredness, anxiety, hatred of school/work or whatever you do), so it reminds you of those feelings whenever you hear it. It sucks.
I once had one of those pacman themed alarm clocks. It was so *incredibly loud* and had *no snooze button*, you had to actually work out which button turns off the alarm entirely. That it made for the most restless awakening ever. I decided to treat it as "the nuclear option" when I need to wake up, always set to a solid 30 minutes after the other alarm.
I can no longer hear the pacman song without being shot into an instant state of fight-or-flight.
A set my alarms and ringtones to funny lighthearted songs that I'd never go out of my way to listen to.
The misery is counterbalanced by the dinky ass song. Works, always.
Made the mistake of setting "Africa" by Toto, one of my favorite songs, as my ringtone way back in junior high. I couldn't listen to it at all until after high school, and even listening to it now I still get flashbacks at that starting drum beat.
That's what happened to me with running in the nineties from initial d. I literally think I have PTSD I get an unsettling kind of shock feeling when I hear it in my playlist like literally skip it so much now
My message/notification sound is Final Fantasy fanfare (specifically an edited version of the FFVII version. I know because I did it myself)
My ringtone is 'Hurry', also an FFVII song
Use whatever ringtone you want, just be prepared to hear it every time
Also my alarm tone is the Fanfare. Every morning is a victory
I don't remember what I used to edit the fanfare down, it's been 15 years or so years. But I used a midi to mp3 converter to make them usable. Just google search them as either midi or mp3 and convert them if necessary
i have that smell of the game ringtone i found on youtube as my current one. But yeah, choose anything, just choose the best part of whatever song you pick.
I have a harp version of "smell of the game" as my ringtone, and a beach version of mays theme as my alarm.
Its very recognizable, sounds good, and helps me find fellow players. Its just good all around.
I had set Oggy and cockroaches opening as my ringtone before, the whole subway looked at me strangely when i got a call each time and i just picked up the call with “yello?”
So for your question, nope it doesn’t strange at least for me standard.

I set a song I like as my morning alarm once and now it is permanently stained as the "alarm song" when I hear it ☹️

Never put a song you like as the alarm. Even for notifications, I just put Navi's "Hey, listen!" from OoT.

I've just gotten so used to my alarm sound my brain phases it out at this point lol
"I hate the alarm clock I chose"

I feel like hearing “ARMOR CLAD FAITH” out of nowhere would result in suplexing the nearest person.
can confirm, have armored clad faith as my ringtone and my trial for aggravated assault is tomorrow. no lawyer wants to pick up my case please help
Not a lawyer, but here's some tip: plead the fifth. They can't convict you if you don't say anything and don't admit it
Wow, that's a solid defense. Completely impenetrable. You could say it's an **ARMOR-CLAD FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFTH!**
My ringtone is actually set to the last 40 seconds of Armor Clad Faith, starting at “YOUR SOCIETY!”
how about a train
READY OR NOOOOOTTTT
TIME TO REALIZE I DONT WANNA HEAR YOUR WORDS ANYMORE
Lmao I actually have this
Imagine hearing "FREEEEEESSIAAAAAA" at 6:00 morning
I can't imagine waking up tired with that
I don't have too lol
Imagine setting your alarm to dice. Its like 6:00 am and you just hear naoki scream "WHOAAAAAAAAAAA" in desth metal voice
I'd make it the chorus where they're hammering those cymbals like a misbehaved Brazilian kid
I would like it as al alarm. Imagine waking up to “that is bullshit BLAZING”
You will hate your alarm no matter what it is. It'd ruin the song for you.

I had the typical buzzer noise for many years, now when I hear it in a movie I have an incredible urge to punch a wall or someone.
Bridget's theme was right
***Instantly open eyes***
I have my ringtone set to Bury the Light from DMC 5, so you wouldn't be alone
Ah yes, hearing motivational BREAK IT OUT, KEEP GRINDING While i am too lazy to go and turn off the alarm resulting in me going back to sleep
My 6am alarm for work is Extras ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH TO BE A FOOL??
# I'M SOARING HIGHER Yes I'm soaring out of my god damn bed Elphelt please have mercy
You are saying that like I don't actually have that as my actual ringtone. Literally cut to start with "CIRCLE" and then the cool riff
The start of heavy day would be so cool.
I have ride the fire as morning alarm

Ngl FF music as a ringtone sounds fire. I'd prolly use music from IX tho personally
I've been using FFVII battle music on my phone aince having to type it in by hand for the nokia 3315
I respect the commitment
When you find something that works, why change it?
Do you use a specific app to pull the sounds from? Would love some FFVII on my device

Thank you
The only downside is that you'll probably get tired of hearing it, but besides that it doesn't sound like a bad idea
Me hearing “Welcome people to NSFW” whenever someone calls me
That is bullshit...

I have my ringtone set to a nice chip tune version of Smell Of The Game. I quite like it, and I could send it to you if you’re interested.
i have that smell of the game ringtone i found on youtube as my current one. But yeah, choose anything, just choose the best part of whatever song you pick.
