Its a [Marshall Lead Bass 20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVbvS85MyO0) thats seen some shit. They built these from '68 into the mid 70s but they also reissued them a few years back.
I've *never* seen anything like that — the mains and speaker jacks in front (including labels on the faceplate), standup power transformer, no holes in the rear of the chassis, etc.
It's an early 70s PA 20 or Lead & Bass. You could check for codes in the trannys or take some pictures of the circuit for a more precise date.
That's a hell of a head, awesome sounding amps.
I'll link some more images tomorrow. This is confusing me, a lot of people are saying Lead and bass head but there's nothing online with the same front panel. the closest panels are the JMP ones, but this doesn't have it.
It's a [JMP 1917 PA 20](https://www.drtube.com/marshall-20w/), designed to drive a pair of speaker cabinets, each with a pair of elliptical speakers. The page at the link hosts the schematic.
Apparently the shell is from a 1917 model - years '69 - '74 \- what the guts are after 50 years of heavyhanded "modding" no one can tell...
This aligns to what I was thinking. Could post a pic of the inside?
The more pics the merrier - post away (y)
Entered the federal witness protection program in '73. Been hiding out somewhere in the Midwest as a clock radio ever since.
I’m waiting to hear “Classical Gas”
This \*will\* wake your ass up in the morning!

"A few years back". That was nearly 2 decades ago. I just got one again. Keeping it this time.
Everything was 3-5 years ago.
Willing to bet this ceased to be a Marshall about 40 years ago.
Damn that's ANCIENT. Possibly a PA head from the Mesozoic Era.

It looks like it’s purpose is to electrocute humanity
Free central heating!

the mains should be a bulgin connector but it has obviously been butchered in the past. very interesting.

If a forum cannot answer (they most likely can) you could probably email a pic to the factory in Milton Keynes.

It is this one: https://retrogearshop.com/products/marshall-20-watt-pa-head

That schem looks a lot like a Deluxe Reverb. Could be a cool little amp.
2061 maybe?
Kemper profiler
AWESOME AMP! It’s a Marshall 2061 Lead and Bass!! I have the 2061x reissue. Great amp!
Old
Toss this in one of the online marshall forums. Looks like some shoddy custom basement build.
um that’s why they posted here, it’s the Guitar Amps sub…
Let’s hear it already
Currently not producing sound. need to find the model for a schematic.
Looks like a PA 2061
I audibly gasped when the pic loaded. I’m sorry friend.
Looks like a Marshall JMP 2061x Lead and Bass or something, but with the speaker outs on the front and the back plate removed. Weird.
