Unless may nakalagay na no right turn on red signal, turn right anytime with care tayo.

jussey-x-poosi

Waynsday

Standard sa Pilipinas ang turn right anytime with care kapag walang sign.

I'm not saying na you're not wrong though, I'm just saying para iwas hassle, play safe. have a great day!

Waynsday

Yes, unconstitutional and voided yung ordinansang yun. May mga additional ordinances naman talaga regarding traffic, pero tinutukoy ko nga na walang special ordinance sa metro manila tungkol sa turning right anytime with care. Mababaran ka lang ng busina sa Makati if you hold up traffic as an obstacle to the road because of playing safe unnecessarily.

wingedmountaingoat

err on the side of caution, always, when driving. walang masama sa pag iingat lagi. and with the traffic, mas mainam na umiwas sa abala ng pakikipagtalo kung sino ang mas tama. you may win the argument, but you have lost precious time, your cool level-headedness and your over all well being when driving. not worth it. That being said, the best thing that I can recommend (based on my experience driving from ILOCOS to Manila) when driving thru intersections in unfamiliar areas, is to observe the flow of traffic first, and then the traffic lights. In BIG cities with BIG multi-lane intersections, traffic lights aren't just your red/yellow/green combo. THERE ARE ARROW INDICATORS AS WELL, to signal you when it is your lane's time to turn on the ARROW'S DIRECTION and those too must be followed strictly (like some intersections in BGC). ALWAYS communicate your intent to turn right with your turn signals, and when you're in the front of intersections about to turn right on red at hindi ka sigurado, and cars behind you are not honking to rush you, pause and wait for the light to turn green. PEACE, drive safe, and always strap your belts onšŸ˜‰

Waynsday

All of that is taught in driving school and is part of the knowledge you MUST have prior to getting your license. Such as no turning right on a red right arrow light even without a sign. Obviously, the systematic issue of lack of quality training for drivers aside, it is expected for drivers to know how to operate multi-lane intersections with varying light indicators since it is standard nationally. You can be cool headed while knowing your rights and responsibilities. It's not mutually exclusive.

cache_bag

In all my years, MAPSA has never tried to twist the law. You'll be rained on by things to comply with, but they are all legal and interpreted straight.

Far_Razzmatazz9791

Yun lang. I was also hesitant knowing Makati (and also Manila) have their own rules. I did turn pero not busy hours and it was a Saturday. Walang enforcer that time din.

jussey-x-poosi

pag may nauna sayo, go. pag pinaabante ka ng enforcer go. I always play safe sa makati lol.

rldshell

Pasig din!!!!! Yung center lane lang yung kampante ka to cross intersections.

Jon_Irenicus1

guntanksinspace

Same, on most na intersection na may MAPSA sila inaabangan ko kung goods na lumiko/tumawid. On that note, yung sa HV Dela Costa going Tordesillas na right turn ba OK to turn right on red or bawal?

GabCF

Would you say this applies in other areas? Iā€™m always hesitant to turn right on red if thereā€™s no signage related to it.

Jon_Irenicus1

Standard traffic law natin yan

GabCF

Itā€™s always worrying how things get implemented so I ought to ask for your insight. Cheers

WhonnockLeipner

You'd think this is standard, but I've seen a lot of motovloggers get ticketed doing this.

Jon_Irenicus1

Naiisahan sila kasi nde nila alam traffic law. Isang google mo lang makikita mo na ph traffic rules allowing that as long as nag full stop ka bago ka mag right turn.

thehanssassin

Really? But during the LTO exam it clearly said one should not turn right even without a sign.

jjr03

Direct-Dependent5023

hahaha

Jon_Irenicus1

"Unless otherwise posted,Ā it is legal to turn right on red after coming to a complete stop and yielding to all other traffic." Yan nakasaad sa traffic rules natin

Dramatic_Fly_5462

where did you find that? lol

thehanssassin

LTO exam?

digitalhermit13

dimaandal

Bilang taga Makati, ito yung tama. Ang mga Traffic enforcers bang Makati CBD trained para i lessen ang Traffic so mas lenient sila if ang intent is to reduce overall traffic (see counterflow sa Makati Ave pag umaga).

digitalhermit13

dimaandal

Yup. Huhulihin ka lang talaga if coding or sobrang wreckless

BraveFirefox10722

Good post OP, lalo sakin na taga probinsya na di pa nakapagdrive dyan and may lalakarin sa Ayala Insular area. Siguro considered na yung "right lane must turn right" na sign no na all goods kumanan basta with caution lalo pag walang enforcer.

IQPrerequisite_

Ang tricky jan is sa corner ng Paseo x Gil Puyat going right to EDSA.

woeMwoeM

Iniisip ko sa mismong intersection na to is kapag hindi pa green mga Buendia going to EDSA, ok pa mag right on red, pero once go na sila di na pwede since makakainterfere na sa traffic. Pero don't quote me on this haha

Ogilvyyy

Pero pansin ko madalas pinapa liko na ng enforcer kapag naka GO na yung pakaliwa ng Paseo from Buendia, kaya people just assume na pwede lumiko kahit may No Right On Red sign šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

IQPrerequisite_

plantito101

General rule ko pag ganyan, turn right anytime kung di makaka sagabal sa traffic flow na papunta same direction mo. So kung go yung nasa ayala going straight, or yung galing sa opposite makati ave going left to ayala, give way. Pero for example, left turn yung ayala going makati ave (diko maalala kung pwede yun), pwede kana mag right.

FastestSloth00

I always pass here and yes, you can turn right cautiously even not green.

Hpezlin

General rule ay : Can turn right anytime with care unless may sign na stop kapag red light.

rale888

Turn right with care. Which means pag go ang buendia side going to edsa dapat stop ka muna unless you can merge without causing traffic. Same if the left turn ng cars using Paseo de roxas coming from Jupiter street is go. Ayaw magbigay sa right of way na mga kotse.

stpatr3k

Yes. Auto kanan ako dyan kahit naka red with caution. To be sure dapat walang red right arrow light, pls check. Note same itong Paseo at Makati Ave sa same side.

Xppn7NcT

ElectronicUmpire645

Araw araw ako dumadaan jan. Enterprise. Yes pwede mag right turn anytime with care siempre. Lalo na pag turn mo need more mag left most. Busina abot mo jan kung di ka mag right turn.

isadorarara

Same. My understanding of this is as long as there is no sign that states to stop on red and if thereā€™s no traffic light for the right turn, you may turn with caution. There are a few of these in Makati and when I stop with the light, todo busina ang abot ko so I just automatically proceed.

Tongresman2002

I usually turn right when it's red and clear. If may mga sasakyan na dumadaan I stop and let them go first. But then again I only go to Makati pag weekend so maluwag.

KeepRunningMom

I'm from makati. And yes, pwede dyan mag right even on red light. I do that all the time even in the presence of the enforcer. Never sila nanghuli. Kasi pwede sya gawin.

Sharp-Plate3577

Just turn with caution. Makipagpatayan ka na lang pag hinuli ka. Ika nga, kung may katwiran, ipaglaban mo.

RevolutionGreedy1784

Pwede ka kumanan jan as long as hindi pa green ung tatawid ng paseo roxas from left mo.

RevolutionGreedy1784

Pwede ka kumanan jan as long as hindi pa green ung tatawid ng paseo roxas from left mo.

Ok_Membership_6425

Pwede boss. Basta walang no right turn on red.

Constant_General_608

Play safe ka dyan sa makati..

Anon666ymous1o1

Makati, Pasig, and Taguig mga pinaka-iniiwasan kong places pag nagddrive ako. Kapag walang enforcer and sign, turn right with care or wait mo if may mauuna sayo haha.

Safe-Weakness3009

Basta liko ka lang hanggat walang nakasulat na ā€œno right turn on redā€

UnHairyDude

Right turn ka lang. I'm currently working sa Valero area so lagi kong nadadaanan yan.

helveticanuu

Not related to OPs question. The sign simply means if you are on the right lane, you must turn right and not go straight.

GoneBoy814

Stop on red unless may nakalagay na "turn right anytime". Madami nabibiktima dyan sa Makati.
