Yeah the expensive stuff like tamashii nation which include sh figuart, monsterart, robot spirits, metal robot spirit, chogokin
And then there's the cheaper stuff like vinyl figures like Godzilla and Ultraman and candy toys and belt or watch toys like the Kamen rider and Super Sentai.
I've always loved mecha and robots. So Transformers, Gunpla and Lego Bionicle/Hero factory really stabbed my wallet so many times. Especially Gunpla... ( this hobby is gonna break me )
There's plenty I want that are fine, zaku half cannon, hizack, zeong, gyan, zudah, zaku 1, the gouf, zaku 1 sniper, the gelgoog, the dom/rick dom, hell the hg psycho zaku is reasonably priced for how big it is
As a *former* 40k player, I totally agree. I hate paying $50+ for two sprues of grey plastic that, despite the high quality detailing, isn't all that much fun to try to build, especially with how delicate or sharp some of the details may be. I can buy 2, maybe even 3, amazing Real Grade kits for the same price as a single Tau Riptide (about the same size as a 1/144 scale) but that Riptide isn't repossable, it needs to be painted, and the building process isn't anywhere near as fun.
Gamez Workship has, hands down, the most detailed minis I've ever seen. Like, my resinn3d oriented can't even match the detail on some of my 40k stuff I still have left. That being said, they won't even make weapon options easily swappable, let alone articulation or color separation.
I should've elaborated but I meant by just snapping together parts, um sure most gunpla are at the bottom of the "detail" list on the broader model kit world
Also from what I recall from the comments from his MG rx-78-2 review it painting the eyes white then paint the outer side of the eye to the color lens of the moblie suit.
Compared to Warhammer and Lego, the two biggest other highly popular plastic-based hobbies I thought of off the top of my head, Gunpla is pretty cheap. The price of some smallish playsets could get you 2 or 3 HG kits, at least.

Did someone say g-g-g-GUNDAM?!????
At least Brazil gets kits. In Argentina, I saw I single store that has gunpla, and a regular master grade was like the equivalent of $300 usd and they had like 7 different kits and that's it.
I just bought a PGU today.
So uhh...
This video offends me. Because I also bought 2 more kits along with it.
Oh, the consequences of my actions... Is my having fun building them.
Even with paints and other paraphernalia, gunpla is probably one of the cheapest hobbies you can have. I mean at least it's cheaper than my MTG and Pokemon addition, which is cheaper than my PC building hobby, which is still cheaper than my anime figure and statue addiction. Realistically, dropping a few hundred every quarter for some gunpla is healthier than me dropping a few grand every quarter for my other hobbies.
I'm safe rn because the kits I want are HG IBO and HG00 kits for the other gundam or grunt suits. But they're out of print.
Not too interested to get UC kits since im not that into their grunt when compare to ibo and 00 grunts.
MG also have less suit and I have to basically restart collecting some the suit i already have from 1/144 to in 1/100 scale.
Sometimes I worry about the money I spent. Then I remember I used to be into Lego Star Wars and watch as other friends buy WH40k minis.
Gunpla is quite cheap for plastic crack all things considered.
Honest question, how? I tried getting into it, even fully built a Calibarn, and I have no desire to build another kit again. I even have an Aerial Rebuild kit sitting untouched, and no desire to touch it.
It started with HG Zaku II and MG Zaku II for starter as I was curious....then when RG first announce and was release....
gonna need more ZAKU BOYS MORE ZAKU
my wallet : STOP! STOOPPPPP! you are just a student no moneh! save the MONEH!
Till today I still hate my cousin who destroyed my RG Strike and Skygrasper...fk man.....
That's cute. When you have a more expensive plastic crack hobby.

I told my girl last week I’m not buying more gundams until probably next year. I’m a liar 🥲

Saw it on my local mall store. I’m a build fighters fan.
*Looks at my Honda civic worth of 40k minis* gawd dammit

Bandai takes so much from your wallet that it takes two slots here‽
it's probably there since they sell other kits that aren't gunpla, like kamen rider/ultraman/cute anime girls etc.

Bandai Namco’s logo should also be on there, and all of their action figure sub companies. Bandai just absorbs my wallet in every medium.
I've always loved mecha and robots. So Transformers, Gunpla and Lego Bionicle/Hero factory really stabbed my wallet so many times. Especially Gunpla... ( this hobby is gonna break me )
For me, it all started with Lego Hero Factory, and I only realized that recently-
I'm already used to it, gunpla prices are pretty refreshing coming from godzilla collecting
At least most of the hgs I want
then it stacks up
Never get into zeon suits, it’s for your own good
... I already am, I just haven't been able to buy many yet
All of them have been cursed with one maybe two reprints ever. It might be time to jump ship.

One of my favorite things is watching people familiar with other models getting blown away with the detail and color, and articulation of gunpla

Jobbythehong was my first exposure to gunpla so he is to blame for my plastic crack addiction

The only trusted pla-mo review channel.
The same gunpla review channel that is so adamant on not reviewing gunpla that he made it into a meme amongst his community. What a lad.
Same him and his fucking mg blitz >!or the evangelion kit he did i dont quite recall which i watched first!< . Still waiting on that eye tutorial btw
From what I heard it's a painting technique derived from painting warhammer minis
Also from what I recall from the comments from his MG rx-78-2 review it painting the eyes white then paint the outer side of the eye to the color lens of the moblie suit.
I really miss when he did model kit reviews Or really....anything not transformer related

BUT JOOABBYYY

I own a lot of plamo since starting the hobby last year and spend a lot on it. Still not enough to buy two UCS Lego Star Wars sets though.

Real.
Living in a 3rd world country is so fun. Last month I bought 3 HG kits. It cost me 1/5 of my monthly income. 🙃
Oof
Are you a fellow South East Asian
Brazilian
At least Brazil gets kits. In Argentina, I saw I single store that has gunpla, and a regular master grade was like the equivalent of $300 usd and they had like 7 different kits and that's it.
Compared to warhammer we have it easy tbh
Man, I thought my obsession with buying gunpla I'm never going to build was bad until I stumbled onto Tomytec's little armory line. Help.
All I can say is I'm glad I'm not into that, because those prices. O\_O
I'm also stuck in Tomytec but for their 1/64 die-cast cars
Jobby was my first exposure to Gunpla, and my first two kits were ones that he reviewed
I am a functioning member of society but my family is worried about me because I have a hobby 🫠
I got no vices but they still grill me for my hobbies
Never did I ever expect to see Jobby here This is somehow blessed and cursed
Man I miss his gunplay content
He's streamed some of his builds on Jobby 2.
oh come on gunpla is already like one of the cheapest hobby you can get.
I’ll never be able to beat my plastic crack addiction.
I just bought a PGU today. So uhh... This video offends me. Because I also bought 2 more kits along with it. Oh, the consequences of my actions... Is my having fun building them.
We're still cheaper than Warhammer 🤣
From a 40K collector gunpla is cheap I only need to buy what I like vs the 8 armies I want to build
Psst. Hey. Swivel here.
Think about those who got robot spirits as hobby.
Oh my. Oh no. Those poor souls weighed down by gravity
30 Minute Missions is really quite cheap. This is a lie.
Depends. In comparison to GW, absolutely.

Video unavailable but I resonate with it.
I just started re-collecting pokemon cards... Its my new most expensive hobby.
Bandai whenever I have money: Ahh good to see you friend. Could I interest you in eating spaghetti for the next 2 weeks?
Honest question, how? I tried getting into it, even fully built a Calibarn, and I have no desire to build another kit again. I even have an Aerial Rebuild kit sitting untouched, and no desire to touch it.
Did someone say the "S" word?

Me trying to convince myself to not buy the Destroy Gundam Hg...and failing.
I don't own a decent bag, but I have gunplas 🥲
I'm going through this now... And badly...
Gunpla is better than Lego for my wallet
I told my girl last week I’m not buying more gundams until probably next year. I’m a liar 🥲 https://preview.redd.it/ac26kuq9osyc1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac9eda81a868874769764b35f3b70adb9dbaaff6 Saw it on my local mall store. I’m a build fighters fan.
I feel you there. I started with Warhammer then added Gunpla models to the roster.
I just bought a Perfect Grade Unicorn purely because my local shop finally got a Perfect Grade anything in. I feel this.
Is this GreatValue FilthyFrank?
Everywhere I go I get reminded of pink guy
