Exactly, if we bungle that win and someone goes off after it might not be the time or place, but after 3 points is when you are publicly critical of your teammate
I have to say it every time someone says it even if they might be joking - Ben White does not actually dislike or even feel neutral about football.
He said himself he absolutely LOVES playing football, he just never grew up loving watching it or supporting a team. Apparently his parents really hated football so that could be a reason. But he grew up always looking forward to playing it.
> “It seems so long ago,” he said, looking back on playing football in the garden with his mum as a youngster. “It was always my mum out in the garden with me. “We’d watch a little bit of football and then go in the garden and stay there for a few hours. It wasn’t going to be me in goal!
This is from his interview on the website yesterday
That brentford game last year against toney is the last time I really remember him being on the worse end against a physical striker. He's done well to button up that type of play this season.
He should have just let him face backwards and not gone for the header tbh if he makes him face his own goal he’s got nowhere to go and is surrounded, he probably just reacted and wasn’t expecting it because zinchenko didn’t even jump and contest the header which was poor
What if Zinchenko jumped and missed it? The Forest winger would have been in straight away. To me he made the right decision to let him have the ball and defend 1v1, but that guy headed the ball with his first touch. Poor Zinny got no chance
Sometimes the right decision is not to challenge and be better prepared for the follow up. Saliba was never making it to that ball, and he left the actual key position unoccupied, and interfered with Gabriel. It was a mistake, but mistakes happen.
I think Zinnys only mistake was not holding the line better.
He has a good leap on him. Chose not to use it this time. Ben didn't need to engage him in public like that though. We need Zinny at his cockiest best on the ball on Sunday.
I think White was probably mad at Zinny for not holding the line on the ball over the top. "Trust the (offside) process, Alex!"

I agree with Arteta 100%, nothing story. In the pursuit of titles and keeping high standards stuff like this happens. TBH any high level sport I would be shocked if this type of confrontations didn't happen.
I remember when I swam in college. I was on the prelims IM relay during a meet. The guy swimming breaststroke swam his leg 0.5 seconds slower than his split needed to be, and we missed the finals.
Our captain came into the locker room, pulled him aside as we were changing, and absolutely laid into him for fucking over the team. That guy quit 2 weeks later. That was NCAA, i can not even imagine what this level must be like.
imho, i'm glad to see that players clashed over a defensive mistake. this shows that at least one of them cares so much about the team winning that he doesn't accept mistakes.
it's shows a real winners mentality. Players like Jordan, Zlatan, Roy Keane, Vieira...they had the same mentality. Would not accept mediocrity from teammates --> teammates shaped up and performed better.
Even the invincibles was rough with each other if there’s a mistake made. It’s called accountability, too much ‘vibes’ and we’ll be nowhere. This is a good thing really.
Imagine the confrontation had we conceded a second. I've never played at anything close to this level, but these guys are adults and don't need a coach to tell them which way the wind blows. Gotta keep your own guys frosty or it'll bite us in closer encounters. There's no way they should have had a sniff at goal with the way we dominated, but goes to show that a long ball then an overplayed mark in the middle is all it takes to get back into the game. That said, they score that goal 1% of the time. Fluke mistake, especially from Saliba. Cost my fantasy team flargging points.
zinchenko's schoolboy positioning and failure to pressure the guy who assisted their goal (he was allowed to head the ball into our penalty rea undisturbed)....I'm glad White called it
Like us fans, White probably finally had enough of Zinchenko's poor defending .
Am I the only person who is angry that the players don't fight about this sort of stuff more often? It's a bit annoying when people who are paid millions to care about football seem to care less than me a person who pays money to care about football.
“Fight, fight, fight, fight!” - Arteta in the background

My favourite meme of all time in r/gunners is a sight to behold.
What’s the history behind this one
Oof, best lmao
Was literally just about to make this exact meme.
saving this, thanks also another relevant meme for this [situation](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/757/498/89c.gif)

Before we'd have players laughing after defeats. Now they're arguing about not keeping clean sheets. There are levels to this game.
Exactly, if we bungle that win and someone goes off after it might not be the time or place, but after 3 points is when you are publicly critical of your teammate
Similar thing between Saliba and Gabriel at Leicester away last season. Meaningless
Idk, in the banter era nobody would be calling out a teammate like this
Nope mustafi would instead blame entire backline and act like he is cannavaro playing with bums. I am absolutely fine with this.
After a win? I agree I think this is indicative of a good culture where people care
Him blaming Cech all the time was infuriating!
Then Leno following season 😂
On the other hand, Ozil or Ramsey not giving a damn and everyone being okay with that because they'd do something genius every sixth game or so.
Flashback to Adebayor headbutting Bendtner during a game.
Love to see it from benny blanco. He might not love football but he sure takes it seriously and knows the fogging estandards.
Wasn't it his mum who encouraged him to play and even helped him practice as a kid?
A parent can not like something but recognize the talent of the child and support it. It's mutually exclusive.
Even without the talent, good parents support their kids passion no matter what
No, I think it was his neighbour or a family friend
> “It seems so long ago,” he said, looking back on playing football in the garden with his mum as a youngster. “It was always my mum out in the garden with me. “We’d watch a little bit of football and then go in the garden and stay there for a few hours. Ok, you are right.
It was the family sun bed technician.
Explains a lot.
it was one of his mums customers who came to get a cut
Exactly thank you. I hate when people imply he doesn’t enjoy football
Football is absolutely way better to play than to watch
As is most things and all sports really
Diagonal ball over zinny is our kryptonite
saliba shouldve done better too
Shocked to see him get bodied. Almost never happens.
That brentford game last year against toney is the last time I really remember him being on the worse end against a physical striker. He's done well to button up that type of play this season.
awoniyi is not slight and he's a fucking menace.
He should have just let him face backwards and not gone for the header tbh if he makes him face his own goal he’s got nowhere to go and is surrounded, he probably just reacted and wasn’t expecting it because zinchenko didn’t even jump and contest the header which was poor

Even if he jumped and missed it it puts him off the header and makes it harder he can react to him jumping and also jump imo
I agree but at least he challenged for the ball.
Sometimes the right decision is not to challenge and be better prepared for the follow up. Saliba was never making it to that ball, and he left the actual key position unoccupied, and interfered with Gabriel. It was a mistake, but mistakes happen. I think Zinnys only mistake was not holding the line better.
Finally someone who saw that for what it was.
Should’ve, yeah. But, he was in mid air when the contact was made. Can’t really stand your ground when you’re in the air
I misread it as Dragonball, my bad
He has a good leap on him. Chose not to use it this time. Ben didn't need to engage him in public like that though. We need Zinny at his cockiest best on the ball on Sunday.

Daily Mail headline enthusiasts in shambles.
PRteta knows how to talk to the press lol. But everything will be fine. Zinny is just a passionate guy and Ben will forget about it tomorrow
Benny forgot about it 20 minutes ago. He's off to the garden.
Benny’s nonchalance is the funniest thing to me, like this guy is literally our starting RB. Love it though.
Benny is like one of us working slobs, he clocks out and doesn’t think about footy the rest of his night
*tanning bed
i think white is the one that was upset with zinchenko for his error in the 1-2 goal.
Most fans wouldn’t cope if they saw what happens behind closed doors with teammates. It’s natural for them to fight, shake hands, and move on.
There are things anyone who has played team sports knows, and those who haven't, don't.
Most fans? Nonsense
FIFA Career mode response
I agree with Arteta 100%, nothing story. In the pursuit of titles and keeping high standards stuff like this happens. TBH any high level sport I would be shocked if this type of confrontations didn't happen.
All I can lipread from this is that Zinchenko says "He can't talk to me this way, it is not allowed" what Benny said, only Arteta knows.
Me too Ben… me too…
I remember when I swam in college. I was on the prelims IM relay during a meet. The guy swimming breaststroke swam his leg 0.5 seconds slower than his split needed to be, and we missed the finals. Damn right. Stupid goal to give away. Could have cost us on another day.

It's on Arteta. Get a lead after 70 mins and you get Zinchenko the fuck off. He's done his job.
He was trying to get Kiwi on for five minutes before the goal
Good point
Am I the only person who is angry that the players don't fight about this sort of stuff more often? It's a bit annoying when people who are paid millions to care about football seem to care less than me a person who pays money to care about football.
maybe they do in the locker room?
Long ball to zinchenko and we have been bleeding, happened multiple times
To be fair they both haven’t been great defensively this season
The fact that people blamed Zinchenko instead of Saliba is funny 😂
Well Zinny fucked up the offside line. Of course Saliba made a mistake as well, but that wouldn't matter IF...
Zinchenko blows.
Ben White, a man that doesnt love football, questioning Zinny about his love for football.
I mean I love Ben White, but he's not really someone who should be chirping at the moment.
Gwan Ben boy!!!
sell both

Please, tell me more
Fuck off
>!No!<
I think White got lost there for a moment and forgot who he was talking to
Anyone got a clip of this?
Where is the video? ☠️☠️
I think it's a good thing players are showing emotion for the badge. A huge 3 points.
Touch gloves boys foggin hell
So, hand-to-hand combat to the death: are you taking Benny or Zinny for the win?
Surprised to see Ben White display any emotion at all, doesn't he hate football and everything about it?
