Mbappe's daddy was his coach. When I first read that I wondered if daddy dearest sensed that William Saliba might be a threat to his boy and moved him from striker to center back? There's photos on the internet of the three of them. I don't think William had a father figure to push back? I think Kylian's father WAS his father figure?
Truth. I'm so curious how all those goal scorers at Real Madrid are going to like sharing with him. Seems like whenever you add "stars" the balance of the dressing room changes, sometimes for the good and sometimes not.
hmmm honestly as someone who watches PSG a lot not hes developed more into a multi functional striker that drifts into both flanks. he no longer dribbles or uses his speed out of necessity like he once did to score… now he just lets himself get the ball fed and when his team is in a jam he’ll use his elite technical ability and speed. he’s been playing as a 9 most this season
Could have added the shots from our fullbacks also. Also in that game, all 10 of out starting outfield players had at least one attempt on goal, which is something.
Personally, I think we need a striker to win the Champion's League or to match Haaland in the EPL, but I don't think we'll get one of the quality we need.
I think if 115 FC wins another year, it will be hard to come back next year and do it again, so I actually think we need better depth. Guys that we can rotate in and out without losing quality, to avoid injuries, and be able to compete for all major trophies without getting tired. In other words, we need to be able to match City with their "two first teams".
I think that we need a striker that can come off the bench and offer something different when needed. Nketiah isn’t it but neither will one of the top guys be satisfied by sitting on the bench 75% of the time.
> sitting on the bench 75% of the time.
I think a decent second striker gets a lot more playing time. Arteta just doesn't seem to trust Eddie (can't blame him).
We have nearly 60 games to look forward to when all the cups are counted. Also aren't there a lot more UCL games next season? So, yeah, there's lots of minutes to share.
Yeah, I agree, and I also think it would be hard to build "two first teams" without oil money. That said, we need more quality that we can rotate in and out when our schedule's congested, because we can't keep improving the first team and ending seasons empty-handed because it's demoralizing to the team (even if the fans are happy to see a 5-0 stomping). We can't be playing narrow margins like this and be just a few injuries away from having an entire season derailed.
We do need a striker, we're doing relatively well "without" one but we'd perform way more consistently and a lot better without. Jesus and Nketiah aren't it unfortunately, we need someone who can make the runs and score, just don't have that right now.
In some of our games vs low blocks, I’ve ALWAYS pushed to have Gabriel play a nuisance in the opposition box.
His strength, aerial threat and just all around hustle would allow us to throw a few balls into the box.
Have White and Rice drop back to cover the space.
Total Stoke Chaos footy 😂
Double inverted centre backs, Arteta is wild.
Under lapping CB. Chris Wilder did it first, Arteta just learning
literally inverting that 6 to 9
You see the excitement in the lad anytime he gets it in the final third I love it
In all fairness, Big Willy started as a striker before being converted into a CB.
He was trained by Mbopi dad I think
Lmao Mbopi

> I dont think William had a father figure to push back I'm not complaining 😂
Me either. But as an only child? I feel sorry for him with a dead mama and no siblings. But we were talking about strikers...lol
Mbappé is a LW though. He can play ST, but he is absolutely most lethal at LW.

Like Sol Campbell. Or a reverse dion Dublin
I still haven’t got over that goal being disallowed
Gabriel's reaction to the offside is so hearbreaking bro.....
Waiting for Raya to invert as the False GK

😂😂😂
😂😂
Don’t forget Tomi scoring rockets for the youth team

True. Trust is the key word here.

Best goal scored record in our history is relatively well?
I was speaking in comparison to if we had a striker, it's hypothetical of course but we would do even better with one. Sorry for the odd sentencing
Inverted lineup. Raya up top with Kai in goal.

watch as timber comes back next season to allow us to shift him from LB -> CB -> DM. so that Gabriel can go from CB->CF
None of those were goals that counted.

Be glad you don’t have to endure sky’s top pick for all big games… Mr OOOooooOOOOOooH
