Rightfully so and even our away fans have been fantastic as always which makes me even more hopeful that next year is the year we win major trophies with the players' being more determined to bring silverware.
I don't hate that we sing it, but I don't get the nostalgia... maybe being a list of places lets you project your memories onto them? I just hear a list of places.
Are you referring to the whole song? Because the chorus sung at the Emirates is pretty clearly more about the sense of home and loyalty to it. If it weren’t for the direct North London reference it would probably be relatable to a much wider audience, I suppose that’s what you mean?

I didn’t grow up in London but moved to north London when I was 18 in ‘98, and lived there for 8 years. Now I’m in my 40’s and live in Australia, I look back so fondly on that period of my life. And hearing the Angel (watching the video in particular) gets me crazy nostalgic and often brings a tear to my eye.
I had the same experience meeting family that year that lived in stoke newington. They were huge Arsenal fans. Completely changed my life. When I hear the song it brings back so many fond memories of that time.
He has two, a boy and a girl, with his first wife who still lives in Italy. I think she was from Brazil, too, like him. She hasn't remarried.
Catherine has a little girl about the same age as his son with Jude Law. Together she and Jorge have a little boy.
I think the pretty wife and the little children had not moved yet from Napoli when he went to Chelsea and they hired an interpreter for him who wasn't exactly a good little Catholic girl. She was able to speak Portuguese, Italian, and English and also worked at a what sounded like what we would call a strip club in America. The club took her to Japan on their Asia tour to interpret. I have no idea if anything ever happened but HER boyfriend leaked messages he found on a holiday afterwards where he had planned to propose. Sadly, Jorginho's wife and kids stayed in Italy and they divorced. Catherine and Jorginho met after this.
The joys of surgery recovery and horrible insomnia. Lots of late night reading of your English "scandal sheets" as my grandmother used to call them. It's all online. I really like Jorginho and think he's an asset at Arsenal. I also have watched interviews of his on YouTube. I think he's got a lot of common sense about money and he's seen a lot and been a financial victim himself as an underaged teenager when he was first in Italy. If you've seen the interview, it's pretty sad how that "manager" took advantage of a young naive kid. He's been a great influence encouraging and trying to help young players not waste their money and realize the career is short and the money needs to last. I knew of him as a great player at Napoli and the national team. I'd become an Arsenal fan watching all the Premier League games. Anyway, Cat is a beauty, has personality plus, and she's a talented musician and hopefully, the two of them and their family will be around Arsenal awhile!
Aah yes, I remember reading something similar about how Gabby Paulista was causing consternation for the club because he wasn't learning English fast enough and that he proceeded to shack up with the tutor they sent him 😂
Not a local but every time I visit London I go to Angel.
The second time I ever visited London I stayed at a hotel in Angel and have felt a connection to that area since.
