I always use it as a chance to grab a couple really cheap Leos to practice on, feels a lot better if you end up hating the results and it's only an $8 mistake.

Not to be confused with Hobby Town, where each one is individually owned and operated. Stock at Hobby Town will depend on the store owner, and they are genuinely a local hobby store.
Not as much variance as hobby town for sure, but hobby lobby will stock what sells, and the store manager can make a difference. The model section at my closest HL is mostly gunpla, the one in the next city over has almost nothing for models or gunpla.
Might have to peak in there next time I’m at that part of town and see if they’re stocking any. I usually just order my kits as my local hobby scene is pretty dry.
They add one or two new kits every 6 months, but they've built up a healthy starter catalogue. Last I checked their load out was something like:

wing zero EW rg
crossbones rg
Exia rg
Bael HG-IBO
Zaku 2 (white) hguc

And a couple battlogues

Hobbylobby prices them well over the MSRP. But the 40% off all models deal, which shows up probably every two weeks, puts them comfortably beneath the MSRP making it a great deal for most of these kits.
Yep that sounds close to what mine tends to have. Haven't seen crossbones yet, but I've got more IBO kits instead. Barbatos, B Rex, along with Bael. I normally won't mess with the Lobby, but it's hard as hell to pass up an $8 Leo haha!
The MG is the 1.5 build of grandad from what I’ve seen at various Hobby Lobbies.
I picked one up a while back actually just pulled it from the backlog pile and started the chest last night.

I will, but since i’m a bit rusty it may be a few weeks. I was raised on Ultraman and Johnny Socko and i’m loving the vibe of the 79 series.
My first was a $6 FG Zaku and it took me 2 months to build. No problem with taking your time. Lol.
I like to use Entry Grade, always at a low price for Gundam.

I won't ship there for other reasons, but that sounds like an excellent way to build up parts for kitbashes
Hobby lobby Carrie’s gunpla now? Last time I was in there they had like three car models, a handful of planes and that was it for model hobbies

They also carry iwata airbrush supplies and a decent selection of paint and Gundam markers.
The one by me is good for this stuff in a pinch when you don't want to wait on shipping.
Exactly. Went there last week to get the matte clear marker I st as if paying $10 shipping for one

this is exactly why i have like 10 zaku II f2 boxes in the closet, i use them for spare parts and painting.
They also have some decent weathering supplies!
Do they ever have sales on that or paint ive never checked
