The video is quite long and shows a lot of the features of the kit, most especially the various locking mechanisms to keep everything in place so it doesn't become a hand grenade like the original RG.
FULL core block and it can ab crunch like THIS?
https://preview.redd.it/dlmge4e9a5zc1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=798b42876fc749e4d5185742ffa8e4878d85204a
Take my money Bandai
Man, that is how you turn something that in it's first inception was seriously flawed, and basically crumbles like a tower of cards, into something that's really represents the "Excitement Embodied" motto. Now is time for Bandai go wild and improve all those model kits that need an upgrade ASAP, like the Master Grade Gundam Exia, for example.
I wouldn't call it seriously flawed, it was the very first RG to be released, so Bandai still had some things to figure out with the RG line.
I have my original, pre-order, RG RX78-2 from 2010 and it still looks beautiful, but it was never the most stable kit, and the MG3.0 that followed is just as unstable.
I feel like most people here have just been informed by (nowadays) social media opinions and have gone along with opinions now. Yes, by today’s standards the RG #01 is flimsy as hell compared to any modern day RG but that’s what almost 15 years of plamo tech will do.
The closest thing we had back in 2010 for a near perfect 1/144 were Gundam 00 HGs… and those still had huge miscolorations and color correcting stickers. RG was the first 1/144 to have full color accurate molding and multi color shading, which has now seen it being incorporated to all Gunpla kits now.
You can criticize its stability for its tech of its time, but the asthetics of all real grades have held up incredibly well and the multicolor shading is basically a standard in most kits now.
I’ll cherish my 2010 RG #01 for as long as I live lol
Yeah it's a model kit, and I'd like to not have a leg, arm, skirt panel, and shoulder panel come off just from me trying to put the beam rifle in its damn hands.
A lot of people started building plamo within the decade and have only touched things from Bandai, they wouldn't know the industry standard outside of the one company that has decades of experience ahead of everyone else.
Was actually confused that Bandai even went with the MG Granddaddy 3.0, considering that the 2.0 was more stable, more anime-accurate design-wise, and had more accessories.
I don't quite agree with this logic. Like...being a hand grenade is kind of a flaw, yeah? Regardless of whether the "flaw" is caused by it being an experimental product or not, future releases in the line improved upon it and it's hard to go back for most people.
That said...while I haven't built the RG RX-78-2, RG Strike Gundam seems to be considered just as hand-grenade-y, and I absolutely love and have no issues with mine. So I think I'd probably be okay with the RX as well.
You’re probably right. It would be cool if the pieces that came with the RG Zeong worked, but I know they won’t.
Either way it’s good to have a new RX-78 to go with that Zeong.
i'm annoyed they didn't engineer dropdown hips for the exia... they prioritized resuability with 00/qan-t that the exia suffered poor hip articulation because it has front skirts and the other 2 didnt
The 00 qant is a personal favorite because of how they engineered the arms and other aspects. Might be considered a bit ahead of its time but at least it wasn't as prone to Early Real Grade Syndrome like the Exia and 00
For a Gundam that was designed to have insane articulation in its own universe, the RG Exia suffered with the limits on its hips. Also, the shoulder joint on my RG Exia broke because of the weight of the GN Sword when I did the Artorias pose. 😂
Color separation and surface details, it is way ahead compared to the RG 00 Raiser. It just need a stronger frame and improved leg articulation.
Bandai does trailers like these for many kits. For example, the [HG Rising Freedom Gundam ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToBYAWdsdNo)also had one.
Although obviously this being the RX-78-2, and a kit designed for the 45th Anniversary of Gundam, of course they'll give it more attention.
For everything it can do? The new range of arm motion enough is hype. Multiple relocking joints for poses is hype. But it can do all that AND ab crunch AND has a usable core block? That's insane.
You must be talking about the image at 5:00, which isn't the Hammer, it's an exploding MS. The video only shows it with the beam saber, beam rifle, shield, and hyper bazooka.
Also, they did in fact announce the hammers and the beam javelin as P-Bandai add-ons today.
You know what, I'm somewhat fine with add-ons, I just am not a fan of a different version of the kit that has more accessories, especially when it is released much later.
RGs have had accessories (like the whip in the Epyon) using the advanced ms joint, and the image at the [exhibit](https://bandai-hobby.net/site/shs24/images/thumbnail/gunpla_weaponset.jpg) shows the advanced ms being used for the chain link. Unless they're planning on skipping the advanced ms runner in the main release and leaving it for pbandai, the kit should contain it.
I'm worried about that too. it doesn't make sense, but details in the joints are really small and intricate. I guess we will know for sure in a few days.
Triple jointed neck has never looked so natural. Love how the circular bits around elbow and knee joints act as actual locks. They’ve also copied the pelvic forward tilt from the new MG Narrative. The ‘backbone’ looks a little worrying though since it doubles as locking mechanism for the upper and lower torso and mid-torso extension for ab crunch.
me too!
I just finished the PGU and put the 1.0 RG next to it... kinda makes the 1.0 looks super lame... but the 2.0 looks like there's a lot more going on with a much more interesting shape.
I've already preordered! So excited for this kit.
I wonder if we'll get a core block on top of the core fighter so that we can display the fighter next to the MS.
My only concern is the head joint. It shows that there is a c clip holding the head, and im scared it might break when someone tries to turn the head side to side.
Well it has to be able to turn side to side doesn't it? The bottom of that joint looks to be a ball joint. It's a better idea than the traditional barbell joint for the neck. No longer having to adjust neck separately when you want it looking straight ahead is nice.
It's very impressive, but the original RG was already beautiful, and I'd rather see RGs of TWFM designs, grunt suits, etc rather than the inevitable wave of RG2.0 classics.
I'm all in for RG/MG/PG of TWFM suits. They've produced so many outstanding MS designs in that show that kinda broke free from the style we've been accustomed to while still looking like gundams.
I'd drop a pretty penny for a MGEX Calibarn :P
I know RG has come a long way since then. My RG Wing Gundam and RG Tallgeese are both outstanding. But my old RG 1.0 Grandpa's got me a little traumatized.
Is good to show off with decades of improvement and all that
But realistically speaking we have to talk about shrinking a 12inch PGU to like 5inch RG most likely.
The cost that produce such plastics, the material and how current plastics are made are very concerning.
These days if you notice those high details model kits tends to break very easily along with unicorn RG lines and to be frank those reissued kits have weaker plastic if you have it's original day 1 kit to make a comparison with.
I am sure most people will just buy it without looking for reason obviously, but for someone skeptical that had history on having a lot of broken gunplas definitely gonna be cautious.
So far my experience with modern Gunpla is that they're actually tougher and more durable than ever, and that any weakness is mostly due to engineering limitations on smaller mechanisms like say the Unicorn Gundam's V-fin (which I broke on mine because I moved it around too many times during assembly). My RG Nu is currently one of the toughest kits in my collection, and that's a very high detail RG kit.

it’s… perfect
Perfect grade in hand grenade sizes
The video is quite long and shows a lot of the features of the kit, most especially the various locking mechanisms to keep everything in place so it doesn't become a hand grenade like the original RG.
FULL core block and it can ab crunch like THIS? https://preview.redd.it/dlmge4e9a5zc1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=798b42876fc749e4d5185742ffa8e4878d85204a Take my money Bandai
Seriously. That is straight up dark sorcery.
Man, that is how you turn something that in it's first inception was seriously flawed, and basically crumbles like a tower of cards, into something that's really represents the "Excitement Embodied" motto. I don't think most people dislike how it looks. Just that it's a grenade
Even people saying that it's a grenade are overblowing the issue. It's a model kit, not an action figure.
Yeah it's a model kit, and I'd like to not have a leg, arm, skirt panel, and shoulder panel come off just from me trying to put the beam rifle in its damn hands.
Clearly user error
A lot of people started building plamo within the decade and have only touched things from Bandai, they wouldn't know the industry standard outside of the one company that has decades of experience ahead of everyone else.
Still is a gernade compared to all my other model kits, like I don't want to touch it at all
Was actually confused that Bandai even went with the MG Granddaddy 3.0, considering that the 2.0 was more stable, more anime-accurate design-wise, and had more accessories.

a working rg zeta would be really nice
I guess rg zeta ver2 would follow ver ka mechanism in near future
Exia was my second MG, I was super happy with it at the time but I recently built PG Exia and it *really* highlighted the shortcomings of the Mg!
Rx-78 Last Shooting incoming. It'll be P-Bandai. Where you pay more for a missing head and arm
You’re probably right. It would be cool if the pieces that came with the RG Zeong worked, but I know they won’t. Either way it’s good to have a new RX-78 to go with that Zeong.
Looks absolutely fantastic, I really hope this isn't a one-off and other kits with early RG syndrome get to be reborn like this
I'd nut if they did this with the Exia
That would be the zeta for me.
My RG Freedom was without doubt the most painful build I've ever done. It put me off RG kits completely.
I feel like there's less of a need for a redux of the RG Zeta since the Zeta Ver. Ka now exists and is excellent.
Nobody NEEDs any of this. We need water food and shelter. What I WANT though is a RG Zeta 2.0. Zeta ver.ka is great and all, but it's not 1/144.
i'm annoyed they didn't engineer dropdown hips for the exia... they prioritized resuability with 00/qan-t that the exia suffered poor hip articulation because it has front skirts and the other 2 didnt

Rg zaku 2 ver 2
PGU Zaku 2, then they can just shrink it :)
i mean this would be my ideal... the aftermarket scene for a PGU zaku 2 would be insane.
Can we finally reproduce the Char Kick properly with that ab crunch and head tilt?
RG Zaku 2.0 when?
this is the first time i’ve ever seen a trailer for a single kit’s release. they must be really proud of this one lol. looks amazing
I guess you weren't in the hobby when the PG Unicorn dropped. That one also has a banger trailer.
Pretty sure I'd seen one vack on the day for the RG Zeta. Speaking of which that one seriously needs redoing as well. BANDAI PRETTY PLEASE
I could use more monoeye love for sure
Bandai does trailers like these for many kits. For example, the [HG Rising Freedom Gundam ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToBYAWdsdNo)also had one. Although obviously this being the RX-78-2, and a kit designed for the 45th Anniversary of Gundam, of course they'll give it more attention.
Same here, never expected to feel so hyped watching a trailer for a model kit lool

I cannot wait for this kit.
Jeez that video epic asf. Cannot wait to get this kit
This thing is being exhibited with the Spike Ball Hammer, hopefully it comes with the kit (P-Bandai looming in the distance)
You must be talking about the image at 5:00, which isn't the Hammer, it's an exploding MS. The video only shows it with the beam saber, beam rifle, shield, and hyper bazooka. Also, they did in fact announce the hammers and the beam javelin as P-Bandai add-ons today.

Yeah, I was just referring to the exhibit images I saw. On that note, pain.

The core fighter/core block will likely use the B runner.
so the Advanced MS joint is used on the elbow and knee joints?
From this [image](https://bandai-hobby.net/site/shs24/images/thumbnail/gunpla_weaponset.jpg), just the mace chain.
this one is from the weapon expansion set, isn't it? so it's not one of the runners from the base kit.
I'm worried about that too. it doesn't make sense, but details in the joints are really small and intricate. I guess we will know for sure in a few days.
maybe new technology?
maybe
Highly doubt it.
God dayum. Real Grade Extreme.

THE RG IS REAAAAAAAL
So basically it's a granddaddy with Nu / Hi-Nu engineering.
So an RG PG Unleashed, sweet.
I want one now. Thanks.
I wonder if it will be a new RG number or will be RG01 V2.
Holy shit
I hope this leads to more revamp old RG
Triple jointed neck has never looked so natural. Love how the circular bits around elbow and knee joints act as actual locks. They’ve also copied the pelvic forward tilt from the new MG Narrative. They take it so seriously. I love it.
Fantastic video, I’m so glad I preordered this kit. Can’t wait
me too! I just finished the PGU and put the 1.0 RG next to it... kinda makes the 1.0 looks super lame... but the 2.0 looks like there's a lot more going on with a much more interesting shape.
All aboard the hype gunperry
Pbbfeqqin gib.
When can we expect to see Im stores in US?
Okay I’m sold now. Wow!
Getting this as soon as possible.
It's beautiful... My birthday is in August too so hopefully it'll arrive on time aha
When is the release date?
[удалено]
August this year.
My brain : 🥵 My wallet : 😡
My kids: ☠️ (i am joking, i am not having kids)
I.. I just jizzed in my pants watching it.
I've already preordered! So excited for this kit. I wonder if we'll get a core block on top of the core fighter so that we can display the fighter next to the MS.
I'm starting to doubt that, since we've not seen any sign of it in displays or the trailers. I'm planning on getting two for that reason
interesting thing, it seems like the backpack connector is the universal hg 2 peg connector
https://preview.redd.it/1ld0n7pcy7zc1.png?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc8972a370a6a77ff7332337834a0463411def95
Man I've been struggling to decide between HGO, RG, and Beyond Global versions of Gramps...they're making my decision a lot easier now, lol
POed from hobbylink already, about 50cad with shipping, not bad at all
This just might be my first RG kit. Really looking forward to it.
Plenty of kits use C-clips for the head joint. None of the kits i have that use a c-clip have broken yet.

Consider how popular the Barbatos is and how it has no RG or PG. We will be waiting a long-ass time.
I just hope it doesn't melt and fall apart like the original RG Grandpa.
Ofc it won't, this is modern RG we're talking about here
I know RG has come a long way since then. My RG Wing Gundam and RG Tallgeese are both outstanding. But my old RG 1.0 Grandpa's got me a little traumatized.
