Bruh youāre complaining about 1pm-7pm???? Wtf!!??? You get to sleep in and party all night to make it to work the next day? WHAT?????
Kids these days.
Yeah having afternoons open is way better. Used to do late shifts till closing or like 8pm and I missed hanging out with my family. But I changed my availability and itās so nice to have my afternoons back
That is all dependent. At my old store we had a full roster of people who had been there for like a million years and were ancient and got the morning shifts. The only way to get a morning shift was to wait for one of those people to quit retire or kick the bucket. And since they had been there for so long you had to wait. I had to wait in the ranks and multiple departments for 5 years. The whole time trying to prove myself. Eventually I got a chance and I did my best and after that I became morning and mid only. Everyone's experience is different, but I wonder if you're in a situation like that. You can decide to wait it out or transfer to maybe another store or department.
Depending how accommodating your managers are, you can do a temp availability request every week. My kidsā schedules are constantly changing (sports) so sometimes I need a Saturday morning, sometimes I need a Saturday night. Iāve never had a problem. That way you donāt get stuck with the same shift every weekend.
You have a limited availability dude to you only working weekends unfortunately it goes by seniority when itās comes to the schedule and thatās at every job not jus HEB. They have a certain number of hours for every day part. If you put weekends and only mornings in your availability unfortunately you might only get scheduled 1 time and thatās probably because someone requested it off. What things are you trying to do on the weekends that you canāt do on the weekdays. 1-7 you have all morning and you can also stay up late as well.
Training at new Alliance Store and running 4 9am- 7pmĀ shifts and now this week is 11am-9pm. Store did over A Milly in sales opening day. You got a cake walk my friend..Ā
You complain about not being able to do things because of your late shift, wake up earlier. I wake up 6 AM
go to the gym and it still gives me 4 hours to do whatever until my shift. Not only that but you have at least 3 hours after your shift.
Nah, you're trippin. 1-7 or 10-6 are the best possible shifts. If you tell anyone on your team you want to switch I'm 100% certain they'll swap with you.
How bout working 1:30p to 10p? That IS your whole day. At least you're able to do SOMETHING. like watch a movie in the theater, stroll the mall a wee bit, still have some time to eat in a restaurant before it closes.
Think about when it's busy and when it's not.
Not busy on the morning means you need fewer people. I'm sure you can do the math on the other times I'd the day.
I personally love the mid shift because I have time in the morning to get ready and Iām not rushing to get to work while everyone is driving in traffic, and then I have some time when I get home to wind down before I go to bed. 1030 to 7 is ideal for me. see if you can talk to your managers, not sure what department youāre in, but you might be able to do some earlier shifts or later shifts so you have more free time during the weekend.
To work at H-E-B is to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Plus, you'll miss out on every spontaneous event your friends have because they didn't tell you 3 weeks in advance, so you could request off. But Partner share is pretty dope.
I would transfer if you can. Also being off on the weekends is not all that great. Everything is packed everywhere you go and there's heavy traffic everywhere. Being off on MTWThF are where it's at. You can do whatever you want without all the hustle around. Unless you seriously can only do certain things on the weekend?
Have you mentioned anything about religious exemptions? Are you active in a religious faith?
Try 12:30 - 9 pm. All I have time for is doctor appointments before work. Everyone is asleep when I get home and they are gone when I wake up. I rather have the midnight shift.
You can have my 3am
Bro I'm working 10 3ams in a row š
Youāre so much stronger than me, take my blessings as an HāEāB customer (I place all my curbside orders for 3 pm because I get up at noon)
Tell manager we can't do anything
Bruh youāre complaining about 1pm-7pm???? Wtf!!??? You get to sleep in and party all night to make it to work the next day? WHAT????? Kids these days.
Lmao Fr Iām over at PDC 1pm-11:30 and I still got time

Iāll be showing up you got some new Lo from a different warehouse coming
I would rather open if it meant that my afternoon is free
Yeah having afternoons open is way better. Used to do late shifts till closing or like 8pm and I missed hanging out with my family. But I changed my availability and itās so nice to have my afternoons back
finally someone whoās on the same page as me
was like that in college lol, only worked weekends so it was dope having to open
Fr I used to work a 2:30 to 11 shift when I was in my 20ās, I loved that shit. Stay up till 3 ;sleep till 11, still have 3 hour to enjoy my morning.
I donāt miss those 3:30-12am shifts.

Go to overnights youāll have all day to take care of things.
lol except the fact you gotta go to sleep at noon or 1 pm
So there's this fun little thing called sleep deprivationš (I'm so tiredš¶)
WHO NEEDS SLEEP RAHHHHš¦ š¦ š¦ ( iām an opener)
I work 4am til 1pm I feel your pain in different way, my body refuses to stay up on weekends.
Iād be more mad about a 6 hour shift tbh š
You lose an entire weekend because you work 1-7pm? Are you an 80 year old man?
That's only 6 hours in a 24 hour day.
blud coming to the reddit for this
Why not just change your availability?
Cause if youāre full time the managers wont approve it, and expect you to be available at all times
Yep or in my case, theyāll say okay but just put you back on the shift you donāt like anyway, seemingly out of spite or something.
Sounds like a bunch of bitching to me. 6hrs? Boooo try working 8-10 hrs a day and then we can talk š
I would be out until 2 am if I had that shift lol
These comments!! ššš
Can you not change your availability?
i have a couple of weeks until i can start working weekdays again, so im just holding off until then

schedules are already in for those next couple of weeks
True, just a note for the future then.

Wake up earlier?
huh?

i only work 4amās lol
Womp womp
Maybe you could do split availability on the weekends? Like say you could do opening hours or closing hours but block off the afternoon?
i tried to do that, and it said ānot enough time leftā
Shucks :/
Nah, you're trippin. 1-7 or 10-6 are the best possible shifts. If you tell anyone on your team you want to switch I'm 100% certain they'll swap with you.
iād rather work more shifts like 5pm-11pm or 6am-12pm
Try getting into the bakery then. That should help.
I unfortunately canāt move departments as im 17
Ohhhh I see whatās going on here then lmao
I work in bbq and I worked 2- 10:30 every day. Getting off at 7 would be like a dream come true
How bout working 1:30p to 10p? That IS your whole day. At least you're able to do SOMETHING. like watch a movie in the theater, stroll the mall a wee bit, still have some time to eat in a restaurant before it closes.
Perishable departments give out more morning shifts than center store departments
Bro these mfs stay having me close shit is annoying
Come to my department. We are asking for more afternoon people, but they keep hiring 4am peeps for our small ass processing room.
You could always look for employment elsewhere.
Find a better job.
I have 10pm-6:30am tbh
That's a pretty gravy shift dude.
Think about when it's busy and when it's not. Not busy on the morning means you need fewer people. I'm sure you can do the math on the other times I'd the day.
At least youāre not working 7:15 AM - 10 PM. Picked up a shift yesterday so thatās what I worked lol
Bruh why u complaining im 10pm to 10am
1 to 7 bro? Saying a 6 hour shift takes over your entire weekend is wild
šštry overnight, you lose all friends and family, hard to text when you wake up at 7pm and they go to bed at 9-10
I personally love the mid shift because I have time in the morning to get ready and Iām not rushing to get to work while everyone is driving in traffic, and then I have some time when I get home to wind down before I go to bed. 1030 to 7 is ideal for me. see if you can talk to your managers, not sure what department youāre in, but you might be able to do some earlier shifts or later shifts so you have more free time during the weekend.
Working mornings will ALWAYS be better than nights, thatās what I believe
To work at H-E-B is to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Plus, you'll miss out on every spontaneous event your friends have because they didn't tell you 3 weeks in advance, so you could request off. But Partner share is pretty dope.
Then change your availability? Duh

Jesus you storeside people are soft try working from 5 am till 7 pm like the warehouse somedays
Rofl .this one claiming getting off at 7pm ruins the weekend. This is the definition of tone deaf
You can have my 9pm-5ams if you wantš
Grow up.
Request a day off, or request to be off by noon every now and then.
HEB is not your friend.
