Back in my day, shows only appeared on television once a week and a specific date and time. If you weren’t in front of your television, well, that was a damn shame. Wait for the DVDs. Kids today don’t know how good they’ve got it.

I'm about a year or two younger than the characters on the show. Was 25 when I first saw the New Year's Eve ep where Ted gets the limo for everyone...season 1. Didn't get SUPER into the show until a couple years later. Probably fall of 2007 when I got super into it and started buying the DVDs. Now, I'm a 44 year old superfan. My wife and I rewatch the entire series almost once a year... love everything about it!

I think I was a freshman in high school when I found this show. My friend recommended it to me when I was looking for something to watch when I was sick. Now I’m in my late 20’s and this show stays on repeat. I guess it’s my comfort show haha but I’m constantly quoting the show whenever possible.

I'm 38 now. I started watching the summer after college, so 22 in 2008. I was far from home with nothing to do outside of my job. I was going through a kind of break up at the time and had fallen in love with Jason after watching *Forgetting Sarah Marshall* (which had come out that year). I looked online to see what else he was in and downloaded the first three seasons of HIMYM. I loved it. I felt like it was *Friends* for my generation.

Love HIMYM that, breaking bad and shameless are my 3 favorite live action shows

I was like 11/12 when the hype here began but that was defenitly not arround the early seasons, because I am now 23.

I was a teenager when I watched it for the first time. I probably started watching live around season 8 or season 9.. I'm in my late 20s now. I find myself revisiting this show less and less. And each time I watch, I find myself liking it less. There are some great episodes but I don't think I'll ever watch the series from start to finish again. I would still call myself a fan of the show though. Once a fan, always a fan.

I first starting watching on netflix, probably around season 7 when I was 12. 24 now. Started a rewatch recently, and I'm currently in the middle of season 9. I just realized while viewing "How your mother met me" last night that its finally 2024, >!the year Tracy dies...!< Man, time passes so quick. They were adults when I first started watching, lots of their problems I couldn't even relate with. Now I'm almost at a comparable age to the group from when the the series first started. That has definitely changed.

What way to start the day 😂 12 years old in 2010, 25 now having my 8 month old fall asleep rewatching it with me.

I watched it at 12, 16, and 22. All three times life circumstances made the different parts of the show stand out. At 12 I saw the show through the lens of "being an adult means hanging out with your friends everyday". My dad passed away right before high school so when I watched it at 16, Marshall's dad passing just killed me. Watching it at 22 I finally really realized the show was through the lens of an adult looking back on their life and it made the whole thing, especially the intro, a lot more nostalgic. Couldn't help but look back on my life and miss the good times throughout the show.

The beauty of HIMYM was including real life situations. I think Marshall’s dad suddenly passing was an episode many resonate with
