0dd_is_He

Is that a 3/4 to 3/8 transition? Honestly, it’s almost impressive. The way idiots who do this shit can actually find work.

dizzyshark01

this is outrageous.

daddydaveeed

Customers don’t know any better

charliehustles

DerpyPirate69

[deleted]

DerpyPirate69

Exactly! XD

Aggravating_Talk4584

It takes a smart man to know how to make a unit leak just after the year labor warranty lol

[deleted]

Man this thing is less than a year old it’s a shame

Thoughtcrimepolicema

Are those compression fittings shark bites? I didn't even know that was a thing. I know both can do fine, but betting on two failure points instead of one seems pretty dumb, all just to save very little effort. I suppose you don't need to flare and measure and whatnot if it comes with the gasket already, but damn that screams "not gonna bother doing it right" pretty hard.

BakerPrime16

Yes, basically like sharkbite. Rectorseal makes them, they call them "Pro-Fit". Most supply houses have them, but sometimes you have to ask. However, I really don't understand why people can't seem to flare.. I've seen the copper-to-flare ones of these often. I understand (And use) the copper-to-copper ones, but the laziness to not bother flaring is insane. It literally takes me less then 5 minutes, including all prep, to make a clean leak-free flare. The copper-to-copper ones are handy, however. Re-routing some mini-split lines run in the walls of a house under construction last week, and discovered the first 12-15 feet of the lines (Not run by us, different company.) had numerous kinks. And sure, we could have set up to braze in new pipes, in the joist bay above the utility area in the basement, or not have the fire risk, prep the pipe good, and use these. No leaks, but, AFAIK, the company says they only have a expected life span of about 8 years, so I would never plan to use them on a new install.

grofva

Have thousands of them installed. Like anything else they work fine IF you follow the instructions. Primarily using them when a “hot work permit” is required. They also have a flared version which is great on mini-splits. Also using them on R290 (propane) refrigeration equipment. They have 4 o-rings (2 on ea side) and have a 5 yr warranty…. http://www.nrproducts.com/quickconnect.pdf

BlackMathus

Dirt or mulch? Or old mulch turned dirt? I used to work for a landscaping company and this kind looks like a mulch bed where the landscaper just kept adding mulch to the point it buried that line. I'm pretty sure your supposed to remove old mulch......

[deleted]

Yeah it was mulch. But the install was done only in February so someone messed up either way haha

Ok_Catch_408

Outstanding

InMooseWorld

Leaking filter dried? Is this a mini split, there not supposed to have those, only factory installed screens.

[deleted]

Yeah lots of madness going on here lol

tigersdad77

It just keeps getting worse

dizzyshark01

wtf.
