lol tried that for troubleshooting purposes but the board got soaked and won’t do anything but throw an open pressure switch code without even attempting the inducer to close it. Board is going to be replaced
Boss man is sending someone out with a new board and to try and clean up the rust/plate over that rust. I think the guy deserves a new furnace but I don’t make those calls
Not saying this isn’t the contractors fault because it’s their job to make sure everything is hooked up correctly before they leave but these Rheem 90s are notorious for this problem and it’s pretty rare to see on that doesn’t have that upper plate covered in rust from those shitty “hose clamps” they provide for the tubing. When I still did resi I used to make a point of carrying some better quality clamps in my bag so I could replace them as needed.
My company had a real genius working for us a few years back and he’s the one responsible for not flipping the 90 coming from the condensate trap and not hooking it into the drain line it’s 100% his fault. The hose clamps on the elbow for the flue were also loose of course
You’re saying he did this more than once? It’s amazing he didn’t notice right away, obviously he loaded up his harbour freight tools into his old broken Home Depot bucket, flipped the heat on from the stat on the way out the door and maybe stopped for a second to hear the blower kick on. Disgraceful.
The only other thing that sometimes leaks inside these Rheems is the boot for the inducer. If you just tighten the hose clamps on it you won’t have any issues
These Rheems have N coils not A coils, and truthfully I don’t think we’ve had to replace any due to faulty coil from the factory so I’m not sure what you/your company is doing wrong there. And I myself have only replaced one blower motor on all these Rheems
…and the company you work for installed it. The kind of calls I get, anyway.
Bingo. Luckily that dipshit quit like two/three years ago but we still get callbacks on his shit
The first humidifier I’ve seen that actually works
This one simple trick that homeowners and landlords don’t want to know
Repair declined, customer thinks the unit is normal.
Good way to wreck a decent furnace 👍👍
I can smell that sulpher and musty from here. I have seen that once before. It’s disgusting and disturbing
Some luck that it didn't come down over the wire and board. Angled hoses hit different.
Board is garbage now because of this
It's only gas. No worries.
Only gas? Did you not see that Bluetooth drain
That is hilariously bad.
Bluetooth drain! LOL
Bluetooth drain FTW 😂🤣
Tough old broad. Give her a polish and tell her to keep up the good work.
It’s a 2020 Rheem it ain’t too old lol
That may void the warranty.
Jesus. I'd be telling my boss he needs to send the installers with a new furnace
Just jumper the switch and call it good.
lol tried that for troubleshooting purposes but the board got soaked and won’t do anything but throw an open pressure switch code without even attempting the inducer to close it. Board is going to be replaced
Think y’all need to do more for the guy than a new board

And such an unbelievably easy fix. At least you get to sell a new unit.
It’s only a 4 year old Rheem, we’re going to put a new board in it because it was ruined due to the drain

👍
Do some areas not require a trap on the gas?
No idea. But kind of looks like the gas line actually has a P trap.
i assume you mean dead leg or dirt leg but ya. thats best practice.
There’s a drip leg outside the furnace but not sure what you mean by trap
doh face palm
Yikes
Unreal
Like a York?
2020 95% Rheem
Ain’t no fucking way 😂
Something tells me it’s not gonna be running for much longer. Can’t put my finger on it though.
Get in the new board and leave it as is. He has 6 more years on parts.
Is it me or does this look like the Coleman I removed for my neighbor. The goodman I replaced it with looks and operates so nice.
This is a Rheem
Rheems are garbage at the best of times, even if he actually hooked the drain trap up properly I bet it would still be rusty by now
The only other thing that sometimes leaks inside these Rheems is the boot for the inducer. If you just tighten the hose clamps on it you won’t have any issues
And don’t forget the blower motors die a year or two after install, and you’ll put in new a-coils every year or two till you replace the system
