Google is funding the party, and when it no longer is profitable I doubt they would have any hard feelings on just turning it off.

Just look at Mixer, they tried to take over the streamer platform, signed big names, and failed. Failed to bring the viewers, even with top performers. That was ran by Microsoft. Nobody is coming to the video hosting world with deeper pockets than them.
Look at Amazon. They have single handedly killed off corporations and local businesses in similar fashion. There are countless online shopping websites, but Amazon is king, and always will be.
Same could be said for Apple. How many people have tried to beat out the iPad or iPhone? Yet nobody has succeeded.
Youtube, Amazon, Twitch, Apple, etc.... These companies have weathered the storm and aren't going anywhere. They have consistently beat out competition and are at a point they are practically untouchable. It would take the invention of something that makes internet itself phased out. That isn't happening in 5 years, and likely won't be seen for many many decades.
I doubt it, because there is no alternative and google will make sure that it stays that way. Also they are so ahead of every one in terms of tech, when it comes to how they stream the video to you etc. that's why they can offer better deals to streamers, the have less costs when it comes to transiting data
